RESUMEN

Overcoming docetaxel resistance remains a significant challenge in the management of prostate cancer. Previous studies have confirmed a link between ferroptosis and the development of docetaxel resistance. This study revealed that docetaxel-resistant prostate cancer cells presented increased FTH1P8 expression compared with docetaxel-sensitive cells. Decreasing the level of FTH1P8 counteracted docetaxel resistance and facilitated docetaxel-induced ferroptosis, which is characterized by an increase in intracellular Fe2+ concentration, lipid peroxidation levels (lipid ROS), reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation, malondialdehyde (MDA) production and mitochondrial damage, a decrease in the Fe3+ concentration and glutathione (GSH) content, and the ability to inhibit hydroxyl radical (·OH) and the mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP). Conversely, increasing the level of FTH1P8 had the opposite effect. A positive correlation was revealed between the expression of FTH1P8 and its parental gene FTH1 in prostate cancer tissues in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database. Molecular investigations revealed that FTH1P8 expression increased through miR-1252-5p. Furthermore, rescue experiments confirmed that FTH1 mediated the inhibitory effect of FTH1P8 on ferroptosis. Moreover, FTH1P8 was discovered to play a role in the spread of docetaxel resistance via exosomes. Docetaxel-siRNA targeting FTH1P8 (siFTH1P8)-nanoliposomes (DOC-siFTH1P8-LIP), which can codeliver docetaxel and siFTH1P8, significantly inhibited docetaxel resistance in cells. These results indicated that FTH1P8 can function as both an indicator and a treatment target for docetaxel resistance. The use of DOC-siFTH1P8-LIP demonstrated promising therapeutic effects on docetaxel-resistant cells, suggesting a novel option for treating docetaxel-resistant prostate cancer.

Dual-atom catalysts (DACs) have garnered significant interest due to their remarkable catalytic reactivity. However, achieving atomically precise control in the fabrication of DACs remains a major challenge. Herein, we developed a straightforward and direct sublimation transformation synthesis strategy for dual-atom Fe catalysts (Fe2/NC) by utilizing in situ generated Fe2Cl6(g) dimers from FeCl3(s). The structure of Fe2/NC was investigated by aberration-corrected transmission electron microscopy and X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) spectroscopy. As-obtained Fe2/NC, with a Fe-Fe distance of 0.3 nm inherited from Fe2Cl6, displayed superior oxygen reduction performance with a half-wave potential of 0.90 V (vs. RHE), surpassing commercial Pt/C catalysts, Fe single-atom catalyst (Fe1/NC), and its counterpart with a common and shorter Fe-Fe distance of ~0.25 nm (Fe2/NC-S). Density functional theory (DFT) calculations and microkinetic analysis revealed the extended Fe-Fe distance in Fe2/NC is crucial for the O2 adsorption on catalytic sites and facilitating the subsequent protonation process, thereby boosting catalytic performance. This work not only introduces a new approach for fabricating atomically precise DACs, but also offers a deeper understanding of the intermetallic distance effect on dual-site catalysis.

Short-term ambient fine particulate matter (PM2.5) exposure has been related to an increased risk of myocardial infarction (MI) death, but which PM2.5 constituents are associated with MI death and to what extent remain unclear. We aimed to explore the associations of short-term exposure to PM2.5 constituents with MI death and evaluate excess mortality. We conducted a time-stratified case-crossover study on 237,492 MI decedents in Jiangsu province, China during 2015-2021. Utilizing a validated PM2.5 constituents grid dataset at 1 km spatial resolution, we estimated black carbon (BC), organic carbon (OC), sulfate (SO42-), nitrate (NO3-), ammonium (NH4+), and chloride (Cl-) exposure by extracting daily concentrations grounding on the home address of each subject. We employed conditional logistic regression models to evaluate the exposure-response relationship between PM2.5 constituents and MI death. Overall, per interquartile range (IQR) increase of BC (lag 06-day; IQR: 1.75 µg/m3) and SO42- (lag 04-day; IQR: 5.06 µg/m3) exposures were significantly associated with a 3.91% and 2.94% increase in odds of MI death, respectively, and no significant departure from linearity was identified in the exposure-response curves for BC and SO42-. If BC and SO42- exposures were reduced to theoretical minimal risk exposure concentration (0.89 µg/m3 and 1.51 µg/m3), an estimate of 4.55% and 4.80% MI deaths would be avoided, respectively. We did not find robust associations of OC, NO3-, NH4+, and Cl- exposures with MI death. Individuals aged ≥80 years were more vulnerable to PM2.5 constituent exposures in MI death (p for difference <0.05). In conclusion, short-term exposure to PM2.5-bound BC and SO42- was significantly associated with increased odds of MI death and resulted in extensive excess mortality, notably in older adults. Our findings emphasized the necessity of reducing toxic PM2.5 constituent exposures to prevent deaths from MI and warranted further studies on the relative contribution of specific constituents.

OBJECTIVES: This Phase 1 trial was planned to investigate the pharmacokinetics (PK), pharmacodynamics (PD), safety, and tolerability of a single dose of riliprubart in healthy East-Asian adult participants. METHODS: A single-center, parallel-group, randomized, open-label, single-dose study was performed to evaluate the PK, PD, safety, and tolerability of riliprubart (50 mg/kg intravenous [IV] or 600 mg subcutaneous [SC]) in 37 healthy East-Asian (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) participants. RESULTS: Riliprubart was slowly absorbed after SC administration (median tmax: 7.01-10.48 days) and showed a long half-life after IV or SC administration (mean: 9.52-11.0 weeks), with a bioavailability of 74.6% after SC administration. The PD profiles, which are evaluated by classical complement pathway activity or CH50, were similar and largely overlapped across East-Asian participants after a single IV or SC dose. Riliprubart was safe and well tolerated in participants following a single IV or SC dose. CONCLUSIONS: Riliprubart was safe and well tolerated and demonstrated favorable PK and PD profiles in healthy East-Asian participants following a single IV or SC dose. These results are comparable to first-in-human study results from non-East-Asian participants and support the same dosing regimen of riliprubart for global simultaneous clinical development. PM2.5 pollution remains prominent in autumn, whereas O3 pollution gradually manifests in summer. To understand the dual high characteristics and meteorological effects of PM2.5 and O3 in the summer and early autumn of 2021 in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of PM2.5 and O3 concentrations, as well as meteorological conditions, subtropical high index, and weather situation in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas were analyzed. The results showed that PM2.5 concentration and DPO3 (O3 daily maximum 8h mean minus O3 concentration at 06:00) from June to September 2021 decreased compared with those in the same period in 2020 and 2022, and high concentrations were mainly occurring in June. The overall PM2.5 concentration and DPO3 showed a gradual decrease from the middle to the north and south, with synchronous spatiotemporal changes. The hourly value of PM2.5 concentration presented a multimodal distribution, reaching the peak at 07:00-10:00 and 22:00-24:00. O3 concentration showed an opposite trend of change with PM2.5 concentration, reaching their peak from 14:00-16:00. When DPO3 and the concentration of PM2.5 were high, the characteristics of near-surface meteorological elements were characterized by temperatures ranging from 24.0-28.0℃, relative humidity concentrated at 58.4%-76.3%, and wind speeds ranging from 1.5-3 m·s-1. There was a high lag correlation between the subtropical high index and DPO3. When the subtropical high was farther and stronger from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and surrounding areas, DPO3 was higher. The major weather patterns with both high PM2.5 and O3 concentrations in the study area were near surface low-pressure front, high-pressure type, and frontal type. The high altitude was controlled by high-pressure ridges, and the subtropical high ridge line was stable between 21°-28°N.

The asymmetric synthesis of thiophene-derived compounds, including catalytic asymmetric dearomatization of thiophene and atroposelective synthesis of benzothiophene derivatives, has rarely been reported. In this work, the asymmetric transformation of the thiophene motif is investigated. Through the rational design of substrates with a thiophene structure, by using the vinylidene ortho-quinone methide (VQM) intermediate as a versatile tool, axially chiral naphthyl-benzothiophene derivatives and thiophene-dearomatized chiral spiranes were obtained in high yields with excellent enantioselectivities.

The continuous decline of human semen quality during the past decades has drawn much concern globally. Previous studies have suggested a link between abnormal BMI and semen quality decline, but the results remain inconsistent. This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the association between body mass index (BMI) and semen quality. We searched PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science for eligible studies from inception to April 17, 2022. We considered men with BMI < 25.0 kg/m2 as the reference and calculated the pooled weighted mean difference of men with overweight (BMI 25.0-29.9 kg/m2), obesity (BMI ≥ 30.0 kg/m2), class I obesity (BMI 30.0-34.9 kg/m2), and class II/III obesity (BMI ≥ 35.0 kg/m2). A total of 5070 articles were identified, of which 50 studies were included (71,337 subjects). Compared with men with BMI < 25.0 kg/m2, men with obesity had an average reduction of 0.24 ml in semen volume, 19.56 × 106 in total sperm number, 2.21% in total motility, 5.95% in progressive motility, and 1.08% in normal forms, respectively, while men with overweight had an average reduction of 0.08 ml in semen volume and 2.91% in progressive motility, respectively. The reduction of semen quality was more pronounced among men with obesity than that among men with overweight. Moreover, significant reductions in semen quality were identified in men with different classes of obesity, which were more pronounced in men with class II/III obesity than that in men with class I obesity. Across men from the general population, infertile or subfertile men, and suspiciously subfertile men, we identified significant semen quality reductions in men with obesity/overweight. In conclusion, obesity and overweight were significantly associated with semen quality reductions, suggesting that maintaining normal weight may help prevent semen quality decline.

BACKGROUND: Acupuncture is a method for treating tic disorder. However, there is a lack of sufficient clinical objective basis in regards of its treatment efficacy. Indeed, there are structural abnormalities present in energy metabolism and infrared thermography in children with tic disorder. Therefore, this study proposes a clinical trial scheme to explore the possible mechanism of acupuncture in treating tic disorder. METHODS: This randomized controlled trial will recruit a total of 90 children, in which they will be divided into non-intervention group and intervention group. The non-intervention group consists of 30 healthy children while the intervention group consists of 60 children with tic disorder. The intervention group will be randomly allocated into either the treatment group or the control group, with 30 children randomly assigned in each group. Children either received acupuncture treatment and behavioral therapy (treatment group) or sham acupuncture treatment and behavioral therapy (control group), 3 treatment sessions per week for a period of 12 weeks, with a total of 36 treatment sessions. Outcome measures include YGTSS, urinary and fecal metabolomics, infrared thermography of body surface including governor vessel. For the intervention group, these outcome measures will be collected at the baseline and 90th day prior to intervention. Whereas for the non-intervention group, outcome measures (excluding YGTSS) will be collected at the baseline. DISCUSSION: The main outcome will be to observe the changes of the severity of tic condition, the secondary outcome will be to observe the changes of structural characteristic of infrared thermography of body surface/acupoints along the governor vessel and to evaluate the changes of urinary and fecal metabolomics at the end of the treatment, so as to analyze the relationship between them and to provide further knowledge in understanding the possible mechanism of acupuncture in improving the clinical symptoms via regulating and restoring the body metabolomics network, which in future it can develop as a set of clinical guideline (diagnosis, treatment, assessment, prognosis) in treating tic disorder. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the distribution characteristics of prognostic factors affecting recurrence in peripheral T-cell lymphoma (PTCL) patients with different levels of histone deacetylase (HDAC) based on latent class analysis. METHODS: 112 PTCL patients who were treated in our hospital from September 2012 to September 2019 were selected and divided into recurrence group and non-recurrence group. The clinical data of the two groups of patients were compared. Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors for recurrence. Latent class analysis was used to compare the distribution characteristics of prognostic factors affecting recurrence between the high-risk group and the low-risk group. RESULTS: There were 87 patients (77.68%) in recurrence group and 25 patients (22.32%) in non-recurrence group. The result of multivariate logistic regression showed that ECOG score ≥2, Ann Arbor stage III-IV, IPI score >2, bone marrow involvement, elevated serum ß2-microglobulin (ß2-MG), short-term efficacy not reaching complete remission (CR) or partial remission (PR), and the high expression of HDAC were all independent risk factors for recurrence in patients with PTCL (P <0.05). The recurrence rate of patients with high HDAC levels was significantly higher than that of patiens with low HDAC levels (P <0.05). The results of cluster analysis showed that the risk of recurrence was obviously clustered, and the patients could be divided into high recurrence risk group (HDAC>5 points) and low recurrence risk group (HDAC≤5 points). The results of latent class analysis showed that patients with multiple risk factors account for a higher proportion in the high recurrence risk group, compared with the low recurrence risk group (P <0.05). CONCLUSION: There are differences in recurrence rates among PTCL patients with different HDAC levels and in distribution characteristics of risk factors between high recurrence risk and low recurrence risk groups.

BACKGROUND: The short-term adverse effects of ambient fine particulate matter (PM2.5) and ozone (O3) on anxiety disorders (ADs) remained inconclusive. METHODS: We applied an individual-level time-stratified case-crossover study, which including 126,112 outpatient visits for ADs during 2019-2021 in Guangdong province, China, to investigate the association of short-term exposure to PM2.5 and O3 with outpatient visits for ADs, and estimate excess outpatient visits in South China. Daily residential air pollutant exposure assessments were performed by extracting grid data (spatial resolution: 1 km × 1 km) from validated datasets. We employed the conditional logistic regression model to quantify the associations and excess outpatient visits. RESULTS: The results of the single-pollutant models showed that each 10 µg/m3 increase of PM2.5 and O3 exposures was significantly associated with a 3.14 % (95 % confidence interval: 2.47 %, 3.81 %) and 0.88 % (0.49 %, 1.26 %) increase in odds of outpatient visits for ADs, respectively. These associations remained robust in 2-pollutant models. The proportion of outpatient visits attributable to PM2.5 and O3 exposures was up to 7.20 % and 8.93 %, respectively. Older adults appeared to be more susceptible to PM2.5 exposure, especially in cool season, and subjects with recurrent outpatient visits were more susceptible to O3 exposure. LIMITATION: As our study subjects were from one single hospital in China, it should be cautious when generalizing our findings to other regions. CONCLUSION: Short-term exposure to ambient PM2.5 and O3 was significantly associated with a higher odds of outpatient visits for ADs, which can contribute to considerable excess outpatient visits.

Chronic inflammation is a constitutive component of many age-related diseases, including age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Here, we identified interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase M (IRAK-M) as a key immunoregulator in retinal pigment epithelium (RPE) that declines during the aging process. Rare genetic variants of IRAK3, which encodes IRAK-M, were associated with an increased likelihood of developing AMD. In human samples and mouse models, IRAK-M abundance in the RPE declined with advancing age or exposure to oxidative stress and was further reduced in AMD. Irak3-knockout mice exhibited an increased incidence of outer retinal degeneration at earlier ages, which was further exacerbated by oxidative stressors. The absence of IRAK-M led to a disruption in RPE cell homeostasis, characterized by compromised mitochondrial function, cellular senescence, and aberrant cytokine production. IRAK-M overexpression protected RPE cells against oxidative or immune stressors. Subretinal delivery of adeno-associated virus (AAV)-expressing human IRAK3 rescued light-induced outer retinal degeneration in wild-type mice and attenuated age-related spontaneous retinal degeneration in Irak3-knockout mice. Our data show that replenishment of IRAK-M in the RPE may redress dysregulated pro-inflammatory processes in AMD, suggesting a potential treatment for retinal degeneration.

BACKGROUND: Premature infants commonly encounter difficulties with oral feeding, a complication that extends hospital stays, affects infants' quality of life, and imposes substantial burdens on families and society. Enhancing preterm infants' oral feeding skills and facilitating their transition from parenteral or nasal feeding to full oral feeding pose challenges for neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) healthcare professionals. Research indicates that oral motor interventions (OMIs) can enhance preterm infants' oral feeding capabilities and expedite the transition from feeding initiation to full oral feeding. Nonetheless, the most suitable timing for commencing these interventions remains uncertain. METHODS: This is a single-blind, randomized controlled trial. Preterm with a gestational age between 29+0 to 34+6 weeks will be eligible for the study. These infants will be randomized and allocated to one of two groups, both of which will receive the OMIs. The intervention commences once the infant begins milk intake during the early OMIs. Additionally, in the late OMIs group, the intervention will initiate 48 h after discontinuing nasal continuous positive airway pressure. DISCUSSION: OMIs encompass non-nutritive sucking and artificial oral stimulation techniques. These techniques target the lips, jaw, muscles, or tongue of premature infants, aiming to facilitate the shift from tube feeding to oral feeding. The primary objective is to determine the ideal intervention timing that fosters the development of oral feeding skills and ensures a seamless transition from parenteral or nasal feeding to full oral feeding among preterm infants. Furthermore, this study might yield insights into the long-term effects of OMIs on the growth and neurodevelopmental outcomes of preterm infants. Such insights could bear substantial significance for the quality of survival among preterm infants and the societal burden imposed by preterm birth. Background: Premature infants are exposed to numerous stressors in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) during a crucial period for brain development; this period exerts long-term influences on cognitive and behavioral development. Aims: To evaluate the effect of NICU-related stress on neonatal rat pups and explore the effect of Chinese medicine treatment (CMT). Methods: Sixty male rat pups were randomly assigned to three groups: the control group, the NICU group (NICU-related stress), and the CMT group (NICU-related stress plus CMT). All stressors and interventions were administered from 0 to 7 days after birth. Body weight, serum corticosterone levels, and behavior in the open field (OF) test, elevated plus maze (EPM) test, sucrose preference test, and Morris water maze (MWM) test were recorded, and blood samples were collected at five different time points (T0, T1, T2, T3, and T4). Results: The body weights of rats in the CMT and control groups were heavier than those in the NICU group in both early life and adulthood (P < 0.05). Serum corticosterone levels significantly differed with time (except T0 vs. T1 and T3 vs. T4) but did not significantly differ among the three groups (F = 0.441, P = 0.894). Regardless of age, spatial memory and anxiety-like and depression-like behavior did not differ among the three groups. Conclusion: NICU-related stress exerted a long-term effect on rat growth and development but did not affect spatial memory, anxiety-like behavior, depression-like behavior, or serum corticosterone levels. CMT alleviated the impact of NICU-related stress on rats and promoted the growth and development of neonatal rats.

Maintaining precise temperature control is vital for cold chain food transport, as temperature fluctuations can cause significant food safety and quality issues. During transport, ice that melts can promote the growth of microbes and their spread, resulting in microbial cross-contamination. This study developed sustainable, non-melting, self-sanitizing "ice cubes" using food grade compositions including microporous cellulose sponges (MCS) and photosensitizers, aimed at enhancing temperature regulation and minimizing microbial contamination in the cold chain. Upon absorbing water, the MCS matched traditional ice in cooling efficiency and heat absorption and exhibit remarkable mechanical and thermal durability, withstanding multiple freeze-thaw cycles and compressive stresses. The cationic MCS combined with erythrosine B demonstrated strong self-sanitizing capabilities, effectively reducing microbial cross-contamination in food models. Additionally, the release rates of photosensitizers from the MCS can be modulated by altering environmental ionic strength. This research offers viable solutions to address microbial cross-contamination challenges in current cold chain systems.

BACKGROUND: Being overweight or obese has become a serious public health concern, and accurate assessment of body composition is particularly important. More precise indicators of body fat composition include visceral adipose tissue (VAT) mass and total body fat percentage (TBF%). Study objectives included examining the relationships between abdominal fat mass, measured by quantitative computed tomography (QCT), and the whole-body and regional fat masses, measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA), as well as to derive equations for the prediction of TBF% using data obtained from multiple QCT slices. METHODS: Whole-body and regional fat percentage were quantified using DXA in Chinese males (n = 68) and females (n = 71) between the ages of 24 and 88. All the participants also underwent abdominal QCT measurement, and their VAT mass and visceral fat volume (VFV) were assessed using QCT and DXA, respectively. RESULTS: DXA-derived TBF% closely correlated with QCT abdominal fat percentage (r = 0.89-0.93 in men and 0.76-0.88 in women). Stepwise regression showed that single-slice QCT data were the best predictors of DXA-derived TBF%, DXA android fat percentage and DXA gynoid fat percentage. Cross-validation analysis showed that TBF% and android fat percentage could be accurately predicted using QCT data in both sexes. There were close correlations between QCT-derived and DXA-derived VFV (r = 0.97 in men and 0.93 in women). CONCLUSION: Clinicians can assess the TBF% and android and gynoid fat percentages of Chinese women and men by analysing existing abdominal CT-derived data using the QCT technique.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the feasibility of the postoperative diagnostic 131I whole-body planar scans (Dx-WBS) in papillary thyroid cancer (PTC) patients, and to clarify its value for accurate staging, risk stratification, and postoperative radioactive iodine (RAI) treatment management. DESIGN: Retrospective study from 2015 to 2021. SETTING: A total of 1294 PTC patients in the tertiary referral hospital. PARTICIPANTS: Patients with differentiated thyroid cancer who underwent total/subtotal thyroidectomy were included. Patients with non-PTC pathological type, non-first RAI treatment, and incomplete data such as Dx-WBS and postablation WBS (Rx-WBS) were excluded. METHODS: The diagnostic efficacy of Dx-WBS was calculated with Rx-WBS as the reference. All patients were initially staged by the 8th edition of TNM staging, and risk stratification was performed based on clinical and pathological information. After Dx-WBS, the risk stratification was re-evaluated, and management was reconfirmed. RESULTS: The detection rates of Dx-WBS for residual thyroid, cervical lymph nodes, upper mediastinal lymph nodes, lung, and bone distant metastasis were 97.6%, 78.3%, 82.1%, 66.7%, and 61.2%, respectively. The risk stratification of 113 patients (8.7%) changed after Dx-WBS, of which 107 patients changed from low to intermediate risk, 2 from low to high risk, and 4 from medium to high risk. A total of 241 patients (18.6%) adjusted the RAI regimen after Dx-WBS. CONCLUSION: This study confirms the diagnostic efficacy of the postoperative Dx-WBS in PTC patients and the value of Dx-WBS in accurately assessing risk stratification, as well as assisting in determining RAI treatment.

China has entered a period of synchronous development between digitalization and aging. Based on the data from the China Household Finance Survey (CHFS), the partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) and multi-group analysis were used to analyze the impact mechanism of digital capabilities and digital finance on the wealth of elderly households. The results indicate that digital capabilities and digital finance can improve the wealth level of households headed by the elderly through direct and indirect paths. The indirect effects of digital capabilities and digital finance on elderly household wealth are all exerted through the node of business and property income, and entrepreneurship/investment are mediating variables. Moreover, digital capabilities have a greater impact on the wealth of elderly households in the central and western China regions, while digital finance has a greater impact in the eastern China regions. In addition, there is no significant difference in the effect of digital capabilities on business and property income across regions, while digital finance has a larger effect in the eastern region. The above conclusions can provide theoretical and practical support for realizing active aging and common prosperity in different countries and regions.

In recent years, there has been growing concern about the adverse effects of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) on male fertility. Epigenetic modification is critical for male germline development, and has been suggested as a potential mechanism for impaired fertility induced by EDCs. Bisphenol A (BPA) has been recognized as a typical EDC. BPA and its analogues, which are still widely used in various consumer products, have garnered increasing attention due to their reproductive toxicity and the potential to induce epigenetic alteration. This literature review provides an overview of studies investigating the adverse effects of bisphenol exposures on epigenetic modifications and male fertility. Existing studies provide evidence that exposure to bisphenols can lead to adverse effects on male fertility, including declined semen quality, altered reproductive hormone levels, and adverse reproductive outcomes. Epigenetic patterns, including DNA methylation, histone modification, and non-coding RNA expression, can be altered by bisphenol exposures. Transgenerational effects, which influence the fertility and epigenetic patterns of unexposed generations, have also been identified. However, the magnitude and direction of certain outcomes varied across different studies. Investigations into the dynamics of histopathological and epigenetic alterations associated with bisphenol exposures during developmental stages can enhance the understanding of the epigenetic effects of bisphenols, the implication of epigenetic alteration on male fertility, and the health of successive generation.

Glioma is a type of tumor that starts in the glial cells of the brain or spine. Since the 1800s, when the disease was first named, its survival rates have always been unsatisfactory. Despite great advances in molecular biology and traditional treatment methods, many questions regarding cancer occurrence and the underlying mechanism remain to be answered. In this study, we assessed the protein structural features of 20 oncogenes and 20 anti-oncogenes via protein structure and dynamic analysis methods and 3D structural and systematic analyses of the structure-function relationships of proteins. All of these results directly indicate that unfavorable group proteins show more complex structures than favorable group proteins. As the tumor cell microenvironment changes, the balance of oncogene-related and anti-oncogene-related proteins is disrupted, and most of the structures of the two groups of proteins will be disrupted. However, more unfavorable group proteins will maintain and refold to achieve their correct shape faster and perform their functions more quickly than favorable group proteins, and the former thus support cancer development. We hope that these analyses will help promote mechanistic research and the development of new treatments for glioma.
