RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The filamentous temperature-sensitive H protease (ftsH) gene family belongs to the ATP-dependent zinc metalloproteins, and ftsH genes play critical roles in plant chloroplast development and photosynthesis. RESULTS: In this study, we performed genome-wide identification and a systematic analysis of soybean ftsH genes. A total of 18 GmftsH genes were identified. The subcellular localization was predicted to be mainly in cell membranes and chloroplasts, and the gene structures, conserved motifs, evolutionary relationships, and expression patterns were comprehensively analyzed. Phylogenetic analysis of the ftsH gene family from soybean and various other species revealed six distinct clades, all of which showed a close relationship to Arabidopsis thaliana. The members of the GmftsH gene family were distributed on 13 soybean chromosomes, with intron numbers ranging from 3 to 15, 13 pairs of repetitive segment. The covariance between these genes and related genes in different species of Oryza sativa, Zea mays, and Arabidopsis thaliana was further investigated. The transcript expression data revealed that the genes of this family showed different expression patterns in three parts, the root, stem, and leaf, and most of the genes were highly expressed in the leaves of the soybean plants. Fluorescence-based real-time quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) showed that the expression level of GmftsH genes varied under different stress treatments. Specifically, the genes within this family exhibited various induction levels in response to stress conditions of 4℃, 20% PEG-6000, and 100 mmol/L NaCl. These findings suggest that the GmftsH gene family may play a crucial role in the abiotic stress response in soybeans. It was also found that the GmftsH7 gene was localized on the cell membrane, and its expression was significantly upregulated under 4 ℃ treatment. In summary, by conducting a genome-wide analysis of the GmftsH gene family, a strong theoretical basis is established for future studies on the functionality of GmftsH genes. CONCLUSIONS: This research can potentially serve as a guide for enhancing the stress tolerance characteristics of soybean.

RESUMEN

Nitrogen plays a significant role in influencing various physiological processes in plants, thereby impacting their ability to withstand abiotic stresses. This study used hydroponics to compare the effects of three nitrogen supply levels (1N, 1/2N and 1/4N) on the antioxidant capacity of rice varieties JJ88 (nitrogen efficient) and XN999 (nitrogen inefficient) with different nitrogen use efficiencies. The results show that compared with the XN999 variety, the JJ88 variety has stronger adaptability to low-nitrogen conditions, which is mainly reflected in the relatively small decrease in dry weight and net photosynthetic rate (Pn); In the early stage of low-nitrogen treatment (0-7 d), the [Formula: see text] production rate, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and malondialdehyde (MDA) content of JJ88 variety increased relatively slightly, but the superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxide The activity of enzyme (POD) and catalase (CAT) increased significantly; After low-nitrogen treatment, the ASA-GSH cycle enzyme activity of JJ88 variety was relatively high, and the dehydroascorbate reductase (DHAR) activity after 14 days of low-nitrogen treatment was higher than that of 1N treatment; The content of reduced ascorbic acid (ASA) in non-enzymatic antioxidants was lower than that of 1N treatment after 14 days of low nitrogen treatment; The contents of oxidized dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) and carotenoids (Car) were higher than those of 1N treatment after 21d and 14d of low nitrogen treatment respectively; The contents of reduced glutathione (GSH), oxidized glutathione (GSSG) and proline (Pro) showed a larger upward trend during the entire low-nitrogen treatment period. In summary, the JJ88 rice variety has a strong ability to regulate oxidative stress and osmotic damage under low nitrogen conditions. It can slow down plant damage by regulating antioxidant enzyme activity and antioxidant content. This provides a basis for achieving nitrogen reduction and efficiency improvement in rice and the breeding of nitrogen-efficient varieties.

RESUMEN

Salt stress is an important environmental factor affecting crop growth and development. One of the important ways to improve the salt tolerance of rice is to identify new salt-tolerance genes, reveal possible mechanisms, and apply them to the creation of new germplasm and the breeding of new varieties. In this study, the salt-sensitive japonica variety Tong 35 (T35) and salt-tolerant japonica variety Ji Nongda 709 (JND709) were used. Salt stress treatment with a 150 mmol/L NaCl solution (the control group was tested without salt stress treatment simultaneously) was continued until the test material was collected after the rice germination period. Twelve cDNA libraries were constructed, and 5 comparator groups were established for transcriptome sequencing. On average, 9.57G of raw sequencing data were generated per sample, with alignment to the reference genome above 96.88% and alignment to guanine-cytosine (GC) content above 53.86%. A total of 16,829 differentially expressed genes were present in the five comparison groups, of which 2390 genes were specifically expressed in T35 (category 1), 3306 genes were specifically expressed in JND709 (category 2), and 1708 genes were differentially expressed in both breeds (category 3). Differentially expressed genes were subjected to gene ontology (GO), functional enrichment analysis, and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis, which revealed that these genes belonged to three main classes: molecular function, cellular components, and biological processes. KEGG pathway analysis showed that the significantly enriched pathways for these differentially expressed genes included phenylpropane biosynthesis, phytohormone signaling, and the interaction of plants with pathogens. In this study, we provided a reference for studying the molecular mechanism underlying salt tolerance during germination.

RESUMEN

Low temperature is a limiting factor of seed germination and plant growth. Although there is a lot information on the response of maize to low temperatures, there is still poorly description of how histone methylation affects maize germination and growth development at low temperatures. In this study, the germination rate and physiological indexes of wild-type maize inbred lines B73 (WT), SDG102 silencing lines (AS), SDG102 overexpressed lines (OE) at germination stage and seedling stage were measured under low temperature stress (4 â„ƒ), and transcriptome sequencing was applied to analyze the differences of gene expression in panicle leaves among different materials. The results showed that the germination rate of WT and OE maize seeds at 4 â„ƒ was significantly lower than 25 â„ƒ. The content of MDA, SOD and POD of 4 â„ƒ seeding leaves higher than contrast. Transcriptome sequencing results showed that there were 409 different expression genes (DEGs) between WT and AS, and the DEGs were mainly up-regulated expression in starch and sucrose metabolism and phenylpropanoid biosynthesis. There were 887 DEGs between WT and OE, which were mainly up-regulated in the pathways of plant hormone signal transduction, porphyrin and chlorophyll metabolism. This result could provide a theoretical basis for analyzing the growth and development of maize from the perspective of histone methylation modification.

RESUMEN

Food is the paramount necessity of the people. With the progress of society and the improvement of social welfare system, the living standards of people all over the world are constantly improving. The development of medical industry improves people's health level constantly, and the world population is constantly climbing to a new peak. With the continuous development of deep learning in recent years, its advantages are constantly displayed, especially in the aspect of image recognition and processing, it drives into the distance. Thanks to the superiority of deep learning in image processing, the combination of remote sensing images and deep learning has attracted more attention. To simulate the four key factors of rice yield, this article tries a regression model with a combination of various characteristic independent variables. In this article, the selection of the best linear and nonlinear regression models is discussed, the prediction performance and significance of each regression model are analyzed, and some thoughts are given on estimation of actual rice yield.

RESUMEN

Saline stress has been identified as the primary factor inhibiting rice seedling growth, which represents a complex abiotic stress process. Most plant hormones have been shown to alleviate the plant damage caused by salt stress. The effects of synthetic strigolactone (GR24) on Jinongda 667 rice seedlings treated with 200 mM NaCl were studied. Photosynthesis and its related physiological characteristics were analyzed in salt-stressed rice seedlings treated with GR24. NaCL stress inhibited the growth of the rice, including plant height and root length, by approximately 14% and 40%, respectively. Compared to the control check group (CK), the adverse effects of salt stress on the growth status, leaf photosynthesis, and physiological/biochemical indices in the rice seedlings were alleviated in the GR24 treatment group. With increases in the GR24 concentration, the plant height and root length of the seedlings increased. The plant height in the groups treated with 1/2 Hoagland's complete nutrient solution + 200 mM NaCl +1 µM GR24 (T4) and 1/2 Hoagland's complete nutrient solution + 200 mM NaCl +5 µM GR24 (T5) were significantly different than the 1/2 Hoagland's complete nutrient solution + 200 mM NaCl group (T1) (P < 0.05), and there were significant differences between the T5 and T1 groups in root length (P < 0.05).The chlorophyll content in the rice seedling leaves was significantly different between the T1 group and all other groups (P < 0.05). The net photosynthetic rate of the T1 group was not significantly different from the T2 group (P > 0.05). The transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, and intercellular CO2 concentrations showed the same trends as the net photosynthetic rate. The MAD, POD, and SOD activities were significantly increased by 68%, 60%, 14%, respectively, compared to the CK group (P < 0.01). When the GR24 concentration was 1 µM, the rice seedlings were resistant to the adverse effects of high salt stress. Therefore, the addition of proper concentrations of GR24 could improve the rice yield in saline-alkali land.
