RESUMEN

Keldysh field theory, based on adiabatic assumptions, serves as a widely used framework for addressing nonequilibrium many-body systems. Nonetheless, the validity of such adiabatic assumption when addressing interacting Gibbs states remains a topic of contention. Interestingly, the knowledge of work statistics developed in nonequilibrium thermodynamics helps us to quantitatively explore this problem. Consequently, we deduce a universal theorem delineating the characteristics of evolutions that transition an initial Gibbs state to another. Based on this theorem, we analytically ascertain that adiabatic evolutions fail to transition a noninteracting Gibbs state to its interacting counterpart. However, the adiabatic evolution remains a superior approximation relative to its nonadiabatic counterparts. Numerics verifying our theory and predictions are also provided. Furthermore, our findings render insights into the Gibbs state preparation within the domain of quantum computation.

Coxsackievirus A2 (CVA2) is associated with multiple diseases in children. Currently, there is limited research on immunological detection methods for CVA2. Herein, the VP1 gene of CVA2 strain 201711, belonging to cluster 2 within genotype D, was analyzed. The structures of VP1 from CVA2 strains 201711, 7-1 and 12-1, enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) strain 201713, coxsackievirus A16 (CVA16) strain 201717, and coxsackievirus A6 (CVA6) strain JLS10 were compared. The Escherichia coli BL21(DE3)/pET vector system was employed to express the recombinant protein containing the entire VP1 of CVA2 strain 201711. Mice were immunized with the purified protein, and the sera were collected and used to specifically identify the VP1 in CVA2-infected RD cells by Western blot and immunofluorescence assay. There was no evident cross-reactivity of the sera with the VP1 of EV-A71, CVA16, and CVA6 strains mentioned above. Therefore, this study provided mouse-specific anti-CVA2 VP1 polyclonal antibodies for CVA2 detection.

Aminoglycosides (AGs) are a class of antibiotics with a broad spectrum of activity. However, their use is limited by safety concerns associated with nephrotoxicity and ototoxicity, as well as drug resistance. To address these issues, semi-synthetic approaches for modifying natural AGs have generated new generations of AGs, however, with limited types of modification due to significant challenges in synthesis. This study explores a novel approach that harness the bacterial biosynthetic machinery of gentamicins and kanamycins to create hybrid AGs. This was achieved by glycodiversification of gentamicins via swapping the glycosyltransferase (GT) in their producer with the GT from kanamycins biosynthetic pathway and resulted in the creation of a series of novel AGs, therefore referred to as genkamicins (GKs). The manipulation of the hybrid biosynthetic pathway enabled the targeted accumulation of different GK species and the isolation and characterization of six GK components. These compounds display retained antimicrobial activity against a panel of World Health Organization (WHO) critical priority pathogens, and GK-C2a, in particular, demonstrates low ototoxicity compared to clinical drugs in zebrafish embryos. This study provides a new strategy for diversifying the structure of AGs and a potential avenue for developing less toxic AG drugs to combat infectious diseases.

Graphene aerogels hold huge promise for the development of high-performance pressure sensors for future human-machine interfaces due to their ordered microstructure and conductive network. However, their application is hindered by the limited strain sensing range caused by the intrinsic stiffness of the porous microstructure. Herein, an anisotropic cross-linked chitosan and reduced graphene oxide (CCS-rGO) aerogel metamaterial is realized by reconfiguring the microstructure from a honeycomb to a buckling structure at the dedicated cross-section plane. The reconfigured CCS-rGO aerogel shows directional hyperelasticity with extraordinary durability (no obvious structural damage after 20 000 cycles at a directional compressive strain of ≤0.7). The CCS-rGO aerogel pressure sensor exhibits an ultrahigh sensitivity of 121.45 kPa-1, an unprecedented sensing range, and robust mechanical and electrical performance. The aerogel sensors are demonstrated to monitor human motions, control robotic hands, and even integrate into a flexible keyboard to play music, which opens a wide application potential in future human-machine interfaces.

When investigating the relationship between the acoustic environment and human wellbeing, there is a potential problem resulting from data source self-correlation. To address this data source self-correlation problem, we proposed a third-party assessment combined with an artificial intelligence (TPA-AI) model. The TPA-AI utilized acoustic spectrograms to assess the soundscape's affective quality. First, we collected data on public perceptions of urban sounds (i.e., inviting 100 volunteers to label the affective quality of 7051 10-s audios on a polar scale from annoying to pleasant). Second, we converted the labeled audios to acoustic spectrograms and used deep learning methods to train the TPA-AI model, achieving a 92.88 % predictive accuracy for binary classification. Third, geographic ecological momentary assessment (GEMA) was used to log momentary audios from 180 participants in their daily life context, and we employed the well-trained TPA-AI model to predict the affective quality of these momentary audios. Lastly, we compared the explanatory power of the three methods (i.e., sound level meters, sound questionnaires, and the TPA-AI model) when estimating the relationship between momentary stress level and the acoustic environment. Our results indicate that the TPA-AI's explanatory power outperformed the sound level meter, while using a sound questionnaire might overestimate the effect of the acoustic environment on momentary stress and underestimate other confounders.

OBJECTIVE: This study aims to evaluate the reproductive outcomes after hysteroscopic adhesiolysis in patients experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL) combined with intrauterine adhesions (IUA). DESIGN: Single-center retrospective cohort study. SETTING: International referral hospital for women with IUA and RPL. PATIENTS: Between January 2018 and June 2022, a cohort of 64 women diagnosed with RPL and IUA were studied, with a follow-up period of at least one year after hysteroscopic adhesiolysis. INTERVENTIONS: All patients had a diagnosis of IUA from the diagnostic hysteroscopy and were treated with hysteroscopic adhesiolysis, utilizing intraoperative ultrasound monitoring as required. MAIN MEASUREMENTS: Live birth rate and menstrual pattern change (subjective assessment) after hysteroscopic adhesiolysis. RESULTS: In our cohort, 59.38% (38/64) achieved pregnancy following hysteroscopic adhesiolysis, with 92.11% (35/38) conceiving within two years of the procedure. The miscarriage rate was recorded at 17.19% (11/64), and the live birth rate stood at 42.19% (27/64). Throughout the extended follow-up period, 64.06% (41/64) of the patients reported increased menstrual blood volume and improvements in menstrual patterns post-hysteroscopic adhesiolysis. Univariate analysis indicated that being aged ≥35 years (P=.026), having a history of infertility (P=.003), the presence of moderate or severe IUA (P=.023), and experiencing menstrual improvements post-surgery (P=.001) were independent predictors of live birth. Multivariate analysis further identified that women with a history of infertility had a reduced chance of live birth following hysteroscopic adhesiolysis (P=.008), while those who reported menstrual pattern improvements postoperatively had an increased probability of achieving a live birth (P=.031). CONCLUSIONS: Our findings indicate that RPL and IUA patients without prior infertility and showing menstrual pattern improvement after hysteroscopic adhesiolysis, are more likely to achieve live births. Standardized hysteroscopic treatment, postoperative anti-adhesion care, and early pregnancy planning are key to improving fertility outcomes in these patients.

Micafungin (MFG) is a widely used echinocandin antifungal agent for treating invasive candidiasis, particularly in critically ill patients. However, its pharmacokinetics can be highly variable in this population. This systematic review aims to summarize population pharmacokinetic models and provide recommendations for its use in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Monte Carlo simulations were implemented to compare pharmacokinetic parameters and probability of target attainment (PTA) against various Candida species. A total of 16 studies were included, of which 6 studies were conducted in adult ICU patients. The key covariates were body size, liver function, and sepsis-related organ failure assessment score (SOFA) score. The median MFG clearance in adult ICU patients was 30-51% higher than in adult non-ICU patients. For infections with C. albican with MIC below 0.016 mg/L, micafungin dosages of 100 and 150 mg/d were recommended for adult non-ICU and ICU patients, respectively. For C. tropicalis and C. glabrata, 200 and 250 mg/d were recommended, respectively. However, for C. krusei and C. parapsilosis, none of the tested dosage regimens achieved assumed PTA criteria within MIC ranges of 0.125-0.25 mg/L and 0.125-2 mg/L, respectively. Therefore, MFG dosage regimens in ICU and non-ICU patients should be tailored based on the Candida spp. and their respective MIC values.

Attention is widely drawn to the extracellular electron transfer (EET) process of electroactive bacteria (EAB) for water purification, but its efficacy is often hindered in complex environmental matrices. In this study, the engineered living materials with EET capability (e-ELMs) were for the first time created with customized geometric configurations for pollutant removal using three-dimensional (3D) bioprinting platform. By combining EAB and tailored viscoelastic matrix, a biocompatible and tunable electroactive bioink for 3D bioprinting was initially developed with tuned rheological properties, enabling meticulous manipulation of microbial spatial arrangement and density. e-ELMs with different spatial microstructures were then designed and constructed by adjusting the filament diameter and orientation during the 3D printing process. Simulations of diffusion and fluid dynamics collectively showcase internal mass transfer rates and EET efficiency of e-ELMs with different spatial microstructures, contributing to the outstanding decontamination performances. Our research propels 3D bioprinting technology into the environmental realm, enabling the creation of intricately designed e-ELMs and providing promising routes to address the emerging water pollution concerns.

Background: Thyroid cancer (TC) prone to cervical lymph node (CLN) metastasis both before and after surgery. Ultrasonography (US) is the first-line imaging method for evaluating the thyroid gland and CLNs. However, this assessment relies mainly on the subjective judgment of the sonographer and is very much dependent on the sonographer's experience. This prospective study was designed to construct a machine learning model based on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) videos of CLNs to predict the risk of CLN metastasis in patients with TC. Methods: Patients who were proposed for surgical treatment due to TC from August 2019 to May 2020 were prospectively included. All patients underwent US of CLNs suspected of metastasis, and a 2-minute imaging video was recorded. After target tracking, feature extraction, and feature selection through the lymph node imaging video, three machine learning models, namely, support vector machine, linear discriminant analysis (LDA), and decision tree (DT), were constructed, and the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of each model for diagnosing lymph nodes were calculated by leave-one-out cross-validation (LOOCV). Results: A total of 75 lymph nodes were included in the study, with 42 benign cases and 33 malignant cases. Among the machine learning models constructed, the support vector machine had the best diagnostic efficacy, with a sensitivity of 93.0%, a specificity of 93.8%, and an accuracy of 93.3%. Conclusions: The machine learning model based on US video is helpful for the diagnosis of whether metastasis occurs in the CLNs of TC patients.

Hepatotoxicity caused by the anticancer medication oxaliplatin (OXA) significantly restricts its clinical use and raises the risk of liver damage. Huaier, a fungus found in China, has been demonstrated to have various beneficial effects in adjuvant therapy for cancer. However, the preventive impact of Huaier against OXA-induced hepatotoxicity is still unknown. The potential molecular pathways behind the hepatoprotective activity of Huaier against OXA-induced hepatotoxicity were investigated in the current study Mice were intraperitoneally injected with 10 mg/kg of OXA once a week for six consecutive weeks to establish a liver injury model. Huaier (2 g/kg, 4 g/kg, and 8 g/kg) was administered weekly to mice by gavage for six weeks. Commercial kits were used to determine the contents of glutathione, catalase, superoxide dismutase, and malondialdehyde. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blotting were used to assess the impact of Huaier therapy on the expression of the PI3K pathway. Huaier exhibited a good protective effect on OXA-induced hepatotoxicity in a dose-dependent manner, which was connected to the suppression of oxidative stress, according to the results of biochemical index detection and histological staining analysis. In addition, Huaier could counteract the OXA-induced suppression of the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. Moreover, the hepatoprotective effect and PI3K activation of Huaier were eradicated by LY294002. These findings imply that by decreasing oxidative stress, Huaier can minimize OXA-induced liver injury, establishing the groundwork for Huaier to lessen chemotherapy-induced hepatotoxicity in clinical practice.

Objective: To explore the correlations of cancer-related fatigue (CRF) with clinicopathological features and quality of life in gastric cancer. Methods: Using a convenient sampling method, 230 patients with gastric cancer admitted to our hospital from March 2020 to July 2022 were collected. They were divided into the fatigue group (n = 152) and the nonfatigue group (n = 78) according to the presence/absence of CRF. Relevant data were collected and compared. Results: Statistically significant differences were found between the two groups in age ratio (χ 2 = 41.671, P < 0.001), T stage ratio (χ 2 = 9.973, P = 0.019), N stage ratio (P < 0.001), PS score (P < 0.001), and the degree of gastric cancer thickening (14.21 ± 3.32 vs. 12.12 ± 3.81 mm, t = 4.572, P < 0.001). Patients with gastric cancer had the lowest CRF Brief Fatigue Inventory (BFI) score for general activities (2.26 ± 0.37) and high scores for work activities (6.23 ± 0.24) and enjoyment of life (7.11 ± 1.34). Pearson's correlation analysis revealed a positive correlation between patient emotions and the CRF BFI score (r = 0.443, P = 0.001). Patients with mild, moderate, and severe CRF showed statistically significant differences in physical functioning (83.34 ± 21.12 vs. 65.23 ± 21.14 vs. 32.25 ± 17.29, F = 15.382, P < 0.001), role emotional (72.53 ± 21.21 vs. 67.33 ± 27.56 vs. 54.37 ± 26.45, F = 14.483, P < 0.001), fatigue (49.12 ± 18.44 vs. 54.61 ± 26.64 vs. 67.51 ± 14.27, F = 13.581, P < 0.001), bodily pain (56.56 ± 25.12 vs. 76.43 ± 21.71 vs. 80.32 ± 12.39, F = 14.582, P < 0.001), appetite reduction (57.45 ± 25.47 vs. 69.51 ± 16.21 vs. 76.23 ± 27.58, F = 14.592, P < 0.001), and overall health status and quality of life (67.21 ± 19.45 vs. 53.43 ± 22.32 vs. 43.43 ± 12.52, F = 16.494, P < 0.001). After chemotherapy, the average CRF BFI scores of the partial remission (PR), disease stability (SD), and disease progression (PD) groups all reduced than those before chemotherapy (all P < 0.05). At 3 months of follow-up, a comparison of the average CRF BFI scores with those before chemotherapy revealed a decrease in the SD and PR groups and an increase in the PD group. Conclusion: In conclusion, CRF is correlated with age, T stage, and N stage in gastric cancer. The later the T and N stages, the more significant the effect on fatigue. Moreover, CRF can also affect the quality of life in gastric cancer, and the severer the CRF, the poorer the quality of life.

Previous studies have indicated that various blood cell traits are associated with a higher risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). However, the causal relationship remains uncertain. We collected data from the China pulmonary thromboembolism registry study and the China pulmonary health study, using propensity score matching and two-sample Mendelian randomization analyses with summary statistics from genome-wide association studies of blood cell traits and VTE in the East Asian population. Our findings revealed that platelet (PLT) count and hemoglobin (Hb) levels were significantly higher in VTE patients compared to the general population (p value <0.01). Genetically predicted Hb levels were positively associated with VTE, with an odds ratio (OR) of 2.38 (1.13-5.01), p value = 0.022. Similarly, genetically predicted PLT count was positively correlated with VTE, with an OR of 1.33 (1.02-1.74), p value = 0.038. These results suggest a causal relationship and potential targets for prevention.

Current industrial propane dehydrogenation (PDH) processes predominantly use either toxic Cr-based or expensive Pt-based catalysts, necessitating urgent exploration for alternatives. Herein, we present Zn2SiO4, an easily prepared, cost-effective material, as a highly efficient and stable catalyst for PDH. Uniquely, Zn2SiO4 nanocrystals do not require dispersion on support materials, commonly needed for catalytic active oxide clusters, but function as a self-supporting catalyst instead. During the reaction's induction period, surface Zn species on the Zn2SiO4 crystal reduce to coordinately unsaturated ZnOx single sites, serving as highly active catalytic centers. The Zn2SiO4 catalyst demonstrates a stable performance over 200 hours of PDH operation at 550 °C. We further find that introducing a minuscule amount of CO2 into the propane feed significantly extends the catalyst lifespan to over 2000 hours. This enhancement arises from the special role of CO2 in facilitating the removal of strongly adsorbed H*, preventing the complete reduction of ZnOx. After prolonged reaction, the activity of Zn2SiO4 can be fully restored by etching the surface layer to expose fresh Zn species, available throughout the crystals. The combination of CO2 introduction and catalytic site regeneration strategies is expected to enable a year-long PDH operation using a single batch of Zn2SiO4 catalyst.

Previous studies typically assumed a constant total organic carbon (OC) storage in the lake water column, neglecting its significant variability within a changing world. Based on extensive field data and satellite monitoring techniques, we demonstrate considerable spatiotemporal variability in OC concentration and storage for 24,366 Chinese lakes during 1984-2023. Here we show that dissolved OC concentration is high in northwest saline lakes and particulate OC concentration is high in southeast eutrophic lakes. Along with increasing OC concentration and water volume, dissolved and particulate OC storage increase by 44.6% and 33.5%, respectively. Intensified human activities, water input, and wind disturbance are the key drivers for increasing OC storage. Moreover, higher OC storage further leads to an 11.0% increase in nationwide OC burial and a decrease in carbon emissions from 71.1% of northwest lakes. Similar changes are occurring globally, which suggests that lakes are playing an increasingly important role in carbon sequestration.

Oxygen reduction and evolution reactions are two key processes in electrochemical energy conversion technologies. Synthesis of nonprecious metal, carbon-based electrocatalysts with high oxygen bifunctional activity and stability is a crucial, yet challenging step to achieving electrochemical energy conversion. Here, an approach to address this issue: synthesis of an atomically dispersed Fe electrocatalyst (Fe1/NCP) over a porous, defect-containing nitrogen-doped carbon support, is described. Through incorporation of a phosphorus atom into the second coordination sphere of iron, the activity and durability boundaries of this catalyst are pushed to an unprecedented level in alkaline environments, such as those found in a zinc-air battery. The rationale is to delicately incorporate P heteroatoms and defects close to the central metal sites (FeN4P1-OH) in order to break the local symmetry of the electronic distribution. This enables suitable binding strength with oxygenated intermediates. In situ characterizations and theoretical studies demonstrate that these synergetic interactions are responsible for high bifunctional activity and stability. These intrinsic advantages of Fe1/NCP enable a potential gap of a mere 0.65 V and a high power density of 263.8 mW cm-2 when incorporated into a zinc-air battery. These findings underscore the importance of design principles to access high-performance electrocatalysts for green energy technologies.

OBJECTIVE: To construct and validate a nomogram model for predicting sepsis-associated acute kidney injury (SA-AKI) risk in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. METHODS: A retrospective cohort study was conducted. Adult sepsis patients admitted to the department of ICU of the 940th Hospital of Joint Logistic Support Force of PLA from January 2017 to December 2022 were enrolled. Demographic characteristics, clinical data within 24 hours after admission to ICU diagnosis, and clinical outcomes were collected. Patients were divided into training set and validation set according to a 7 : 3 ratio. According to the consensus report of the 28th Acute Disease Quality Initiative Working Group (ADQI 28), the data were analyzed with serum creatinine as the parameter and AKI occurrence 7 days after sepsis diagnosis as the outcome. Lasso regression analysis and univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were performed to construct the nomogram prediction model for SA-AKI. The discrimination and accuracy of the model were evaluated by the Hosmer-Lemeshow test, receiver operator characteristic curve (ROC curve), decision curve analysis (DCA), and clinical impact curve (CIC). RESULTS: A total of 247 sepsis patients were enrolled, 184 patients developed SA-AKI (74.49%). The number of AKI patients in the training and validation sets were 130 (75.58%) and 54 (72.00%), respectively. After Lasso regression analysis and univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis, four independent predictive factors related to the occurrence of SA-AKI were selected, namely procalcitonin (PCT), prothrombin activity (PTA), platelet distribution width (PDW), and uric acid (UA) were significantly associated with the onset of SA-AKI, the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval (95%CI) was 1.03 (1.01-1.05), 0.97 (0.55-0.99), 2.68 (1.21-5.96), 1.01 (1.00-1.01), all P < 0.05, respectively. A nomogram model was constructed using the above four variables. ROC curve analysis showed that the area under the curve (AUC) was 0.869 (95%CI was 0.870-0.930) in the training set and 0.710 (95%CI was 0.588-0.832) in the validation set. The P-values of the Hosmer-Lemeshow test were 0.384 and 0.294, respectively. In the training set, with an optimal cut-off value of 0.760, a sensitivity of 77.5% and specificity of 88.1% were achieved. Both DCA and CIC plots demonstrated the model's good clinical utility. CONCLUSIONS: A nomogram model based on clinical indicators of sepsis patients admitted to the ICU within 24 hours could be used to predict the risk of SA-AKI, which would be beneficial for early identification and treatment on SA-AKI.

Discinaceae holds significant importance within the Pezizales, representing a prominent group of macroascomycetes distributed globally. However, there is a dearth of genomic studies focusing on this family, resulting in gaps in our understanding of its evolution, development, and ecology. Here we utilized state-of-the-art genome assembly methodologies, incorporating third-generation single-molecule fluorescence and Hi-C-assisted methods, to elucidate the genomic landscapes of Gyromitra esculenta and Paragyromitra xinjiangensis. The genome sizes of two species were determined to be 47.10 Mb and 48.20 Mb, with 23 and 22 scaffolds, respectively. 10,438 and 11,469 coding proteins were identified, with functional annotations encompassing over 96.47% and 94.40%, respectively. Assessment of completeness using BUSCO revealed that 98.71% and 98.89% of the conserved proteins were identified. The application of comparative genomic technology has helped in identifying traits associated with of heterothallic life cycle traits and elucidating unique patterns of chromosomal evolution. Additionally, we identified potential saprotrophic nutritional modes and systematic phylogenetic relationships between the two species. Therefore, this study provides crucial genomic insights into the evolution, nutritional type, and ecological roles of species within the Pezizales.

BACKGROUND: Totally robotic distal gastrectomy (TRDG) is being used more and more in gastric cancer (GC) patients. The study aims to evaluate the short-term efficacy of TRDG and robotic-assisted distal gastrectomy (RADG) in the treatment of GC. METHODS: We retrospectively collected the clinical data of patients who underwent TRDG or RADG, of which 60 patients were included in the study: 30 cases of totally robotic and 30 cases of robotic-assisted. The short-term efficacy of the two groups was compared. RESULTS: There was no significant difference in the clinicopathological data between the two groups. Compared to RADG, TRDG had less intraoperative blood loss(P = 0.019), less postoperative abdominal drainage(P = 0.031), shorter time of exhaust( P = 0.001) and liquid diet(P = 0.001), shorter length of incision(P<0.01), shorter postoperative hospital stays(P = 0.033), lower postoperative C-reactive protein(CRP)(P = 0.024) and lower postoperative Visual Analogue Scale(VAS) scores(P = 0.048). However, no significant statistical differences were found in terms of total operation time(P = 0.108), number of lymph nodes retrieved(P = 0.307), time for anastomosis(P = 0.450), proximal resection margin(P = 0.210), distal resection margin(P = 0.202), postoperative complication(P = 0.506), total hospital cost(P = 0.286) and postoperative white blood cell(WBC)(P = 0.113). CONCLUSIONS: In terms of security and technology, TRDG could serve as a better treatment method for GC.

Objective: Previous studies have found that patients with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) exhibit impaired visual motion perception capabilities, and multi-level abnormalities in the human middle temporal complex (MT+), a key brain area for processing visual motion information. However, the brain activity pattern of MDD patients during the perception of visual motion information is currently unclear. In order to study the effect of depression on the activity and functional connectivity (FC) of MT+ during the perception of visual motion information, we conducted a study combining task-state fMRI and psychophysical paradigm to compare MDD patients and healthy control (HC). Methods: Duration threshold was examined through a visual motion perception psychophysical experiment. In addition, a classic block-design grating motion task was utilized for fMRI scanning of 24 MDD patients and 25 HC. The grating moved randomly in one of eight directions. We examined the neural activation under visual stimulation conditions compared to the baseline and FC. Results: Compared to HC group, MDD patients exhibited increased duration threshold. During the task, MDD patients showed decreased beta value and percent signal change in left and right MT+. In the sample comprising MDD and HC, there was a significant negative correlation between beta value in right MT+ and duration threshold. And in MDD group, activation in MT+ were significantly correlated with retardation score. Notably, no such differences in activation were observed in primary visual cortex (V1). Furthermore, when left MT+ served as the seed region, compared to the HC, MDD group showed increased FC with right calcarine fissure and surrounding cortex and decreased FC with left precuneus. Conclusion: Overall, the findings of this study highlight that the visual motion perception function impairment in MDD patients relates to abnormal activation patterns in MT+, and task-related activity are significantly connected to the retardation symptoms of the disease. This not only provides insights into the potential neurobiological mechanisms behind visual motion perception disorder in MDD patients from the aspect of task-related brain activity, but also supports the importance of MT+ as a candidate biomarker region for MDD.

While live commerce provides consumers with a new shopping experience, it also leads them to experience shopping failures and to develop a self-protection mechanism to prevent wrong purchases. To address this issue, merchants have attempted to explore new marketing methods for live commerce, giving rise to an offense and defense game between streamers and consumers. In this study, we sought to confirm the effectiveness of consumer protection mechanisms and the impact of streamers' information overload marketing strategy in live commerce. Accordingly, we constructed a hypothetical model based on protection motive theory and information overload theory. In addition, we analyzed the data from the simulated live streaming marketing on seven hundred people through partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results indicate that product utilitarian value uncertainty, consumers' experiential efficacy, and response costs, which are the main factors in the formation of consumer protection mechanisms, influence consumers' intention to stop their purchases. Streamers can circumvent consumer self-protection mechanisms through information overload marketing by reducing utilitarian value uncertainty and consumers' experiential efficacy and increasing consumers' response costs. However, consumers would be able to rebuild their self-protection mechanism through consumer resilience, which moderates the effects of information overload. This study's results provide important theoretical perspectives and new ideas for formulating marketing strategies for live commerce.
