Identifying and quantifying water nitrate pollution is crucial for managing aquatic environment of a bay. Dongshan Bay, a significant semi-enclosed bay in the southeastern coastal area of Fujian Province, features mangrove and coral reef ecosystems at its estuary and bay mouth, respectively. Dongshan Bay is impacted by human activities such as mariculture. We quantified and analyzed nitrate pollution status in the surface waters of Dongshan Bay by measuring physicochemical parameters, stable isotopes (δ15N-NO3-, δ18O-NO3- and δ15N-NH4+) of the surface waters, and using statistical methods including the MixSIAR isotope mixing model. The results showed that the concentrations of chlorophyll a and dissolved inorganic nitrogen in the surface waters exhibited a noticeable gradient change, decreasing from the estuary of the Zhangjiang River to the mouth of Dongshan Bay. The maximum concentrations of chlorophyll a, NH4+, NO3- and NO2- were 45.2 µg·L-1, 52.67 µmol·L-1, 379.2 µmol·L-1 and 3.93 µmol·L-1, respectively. The nitrogen and oxygen isotope values of NH4+ and NO3- in the surface waters showed significant spatial variations. According to the MixSIAR model results, nitrogen sources in the surface waters of Dongshan Bay were mainly freshwater inputs of the Zhangjiang River estuary, aquaculture wastewater, and groundwater. The freshwater input from the Zhangjiang River estuary contributed the most (25.2%), while aquaculture wastewater, groundwater and urban sewage accounted for 24.6%, 19.0%, and 15.1%, respectively. It is evident that freshwater input from the Zhangjiang River estuary is the primary source of nitrate in the surface waters of Dongshan Bay.

Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) is an autosomal dominant disorder caused by mutations of the NF1 tumor suppressor gene, characterized by café-au-lait spots, neurofibromas, and Lisch nodules. Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) is an extremely rare malignancy with neural differentiation potential. The lifetime risk of developing MPNST in NF-1 patients is 8%-13%.

Pharmaceuticals and personal care products (PPCPs) have raised increasing concern worldwide due to their continuous release and potential hazards to the ecosystem and human health. This study optimized the entropy weight model (EW-WRSR) that combines entropy weight with multi-criteria decision analysis to investigate pollution patterns of PPCPs in the coasts and estuaries. The results revealed that occurrences of PPCPs from the 1940s to the present were consistent with using PPCPs, different types of human activities, and local urban development. This helped better understand the history of PPCP contamination and evaluate the uncertainty of EW-WRSR. The model predicted hotspots of PPCPs that were consistent with the actual situation, indicating that PPCPs mainly enter the nearshore ecosystem by the form of sewage discharge and residual aquaculture. This study can provide method that identifying highly contaminated regions on a global scale.

Bivalves, such as oysters and mussels, are exposed to environmental pollutants, like microplastics (MPs) and arsenic (As). This study investigated co-existence and interaction of MPs and As (total As and As species) in two bivalve species from the Chinese coastline. Smaller MPs (20-100 µm) averaged 30.98 items/g, while larger MPs (100-500 µm) averaged 2.98 items/g. Oysters contained more MPs (57.97 items/g) in comparison to mussels (11.10 items/g). In Contrast, mussels had a higher As concentrations (8.36-23.65 mg/kg) than oysters (4.97-11.02 mg/kg). The size and composition of MPs influenced As uptake and speciation in bivalves, with inorganic arsenic (iAs) and methylated arsenic (MMA and DMA) correlating with larger-sized MPs. Polyethylene (PE) may interact with the formation of arsenobetaine (AsB) in oyster. This study provides valuable insights into the interaction of MPs and As in marine ecosystems and highlights their implications for food safety.

OBJECTIVE: The study aimed to evaluate the improvements in pulmonary ventilation following a sitting position in ventilated ARDS patients using electrical impedance tomography. METHODOLOGY: A total of 17 patients with ARDS under mechanical ventilation participated in this study, including 8 with moderate ARDS and 9 with severe ARDS. Each patient was initially placed in the supine position (S1), transitioned to sitting position (SP) for 30 min, and then returned to the supine position (S2). Patients were monitored for each period, with parameters recorded. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: The primary outcome included the spatial distribution parameters of EIT, regional of interest (ROI), end-expiratory lung impedance (ΔEELI), and parameters of respiratory mechanics. RESULTS: Compared to S1, the SP significantly altered the distribution in ROI1 (11.29 ± 4.70 vs 14.88 ± 5.00 %, p = 0.003) and ROI2 (35.59 ± 8.99 vs 44.65 ± 6.97 %, p < 0.001), showing reductions, while ROI3 (39.71 ± 11.49 vs 33.06 ± 6.34 %, p = 0.009), ROI4 (13.35 ± 8.76 vs 7.24 ± 5.23 %, p < 0.001), along with peak inspiratory pressure (29.24 ± 3.96 vs 27.71 ± 4.00 cmH2O, p = 0.036), showed increases. ΔEELI decreased significantly ventrally (168.3 (40.33 - 189.5), p < 0.0001) and increased significantly dorsally (461.7 (297.5 - 683.7), p < 0.0001). The PaO2/FiO2 ratio saw significant improvement in S2 compared to S1 after 30 min in the seated position (108 (73 - 130) vs 96 (57 - 129) mmHg, p = 0.03). CONCLUSIONS: The sitting position is associated with enhanced compliance, improved oxygenation, and more homogenous ventilation in patients with ventilated ARDS compared to the supine position. IMPLICATIONS FOR CLINICAL PRACTICE: It is important to know the impact of postural changes on patient pulmonary ventilation in order to standardize safe practices in critically ill patients. It may be helpful in the management among ventilated patients.

Alternative polyadenylation (APA) is a critical post-transcriptional process that generates mRNA isoforms with distinct 3' untranslated regions (3' UTRs), thereby regulating mRNA localization, stability, and translational efficiency. Cell-type-specific APA extensively shapes the diversity of the cellular transcriptome, particularly during cell fate transition. Despite its recognized significance, the precise regulatory mechanisms governing cell-type-specific APA remain unclear. In this study, we uncover PQBP1 as an emerging APA regulator that actively maintains cell-specific APA profiles in neural progenitor cells (NPCs) and delicately manages the equilibrium between NPC proliferation and differentiation. Multi-omics analysis shows that PQBP1 directly interacts with the upstream UGUA elements, impeding the recruitment of the CFIm complex and influencing polyadenylation site selection within genes associated with the cell cycle. Our findings elucidate the molecular mechanism by which PQBP1 orchestrates dynamic APA changes during neurogenesis, providing valuable insights into the precise regulation of cell-type-specific APA and the underlying pathogenic mechanisms in neurodevelopmental disorders.

BACKGROUND: HBP, a novel biomarker released from neutrophils, may induce inflammatory responses and exacerbate vascular permeability, representing the pathophysiological characteristics of sepsis and septic shock. However, it remains uncertain whether the combination of HBP with other biomarkers yields enhanced diagnostic capacity for sepsis. We hypothesized that measurements included IL-6·IL-8·HBP, IL-6·IL-8·HBP/ALB and HBP/ALB which based on HBP will improve its diagnostic efficacy and even better than the traditional infection biomarkers. METHODS: Between July 2021 and June 2022, we carried out a comprehensive, multi-center, observational cohort study spanning six leading tertiary hospitals located in Heilongjiang Province, China. Patients were stratified into three categories based on the severity of infection: non-sepsis, sepsis, and septic shock. We collected clinical and laboratory data, along with infection and inflammation biomarkers, for analysis. RESULTS: A total of 195 patients were enrolled. Among the three groups, patients with septic shock (n = 75, 38.5%) had significantly higher baseline levels of HBP, WBC, Lac, CRP, PCT, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10 compared to non-sepsis patients (n = 43, 22.0%) and sepsis patients (n = 77, 39.5%), with statistically significant differences (p < 0.05) observed for all parameters. When compared to SOFA score and traditional markers of CRP, PCT, IL-6 and IL-8, the combined indexes of IL-6·IL-8·HBP and IL-6·IL-8·HBP/ALB demonstrated significantly improved diagnostic performance for sepsis and septic shock (AUC 0.911 and 0.902 respectively, p < 0.001). CONCLUSIONS: The combined measurements of IL-6·IL-8·HBP and IL-6·IL-8·HBP/ALB can augment the diagnostic capacity of HBP for sepsis, and offer reliable early supplementary indicators to traditional biomarkers for assessing disease severity in patients with infection.

In this paper, wood cell walls were simultaneously roughened, carboxylated, and bleached via NaOH/H2O2 treatment and roughened-poplar film (RPF) was obtained. Compared with the untreated film, the carboxyl group content increased 8 times to 1.92 mmol/g, and the pore growth rate reached 11.24%. Afterwards, a pH-indicator wood film (CTA-RPF) was prepared by self-adsorption of anthocyanins on RPF. It rapidly changed from purple to green within 7 s in 0.25 mL of ammonia at 53% RH and the initial color could restore in the air. When anthocyanins adsorption capacity reached 1.95 mg/g, only 0.36 cm2 of the film could accurately indicate the quality change of 300 g pork. Currently, CTA-RPF is the smallest smart film that can track the maximum mass of pork after comparing with other researches, therefore, promising to be used as a smart indicator label to track the freshness of pork in real market circulation.

BACKGROUND: Health care workers (HCWs) frequently face multiple stressors at work, particularly those working night shifts. HCWs who have experienced distress may find it difficult to adopt stress management approaches, even if they are aware of the effects of stress and coping processes. Therefore, an individualized intervention may be required to assist distressed HCWs in bridging the "knowledge-practice" gap in stress management and effectively alleviating stress symptoms. OBJECTIVE: The main objective of this research was to compare the effects of a complex interactive multimodal intervention (CIMI) to self-guided stress management interventions on stress symptoms of distressed HCWs, as measured by physiological (heart rate variability), psychological (perceived stress, mental distress, and subjective happiness), and sleep disorder (fatigue and sleepiness) indicators. METHODS: We conducted a nonrandomized, controlled study in 2 Chinese general hospitals. The participants in this study were 245 HCWs who fulfilled at least 1 of the 3 dimensions on the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale. All eligible individuals were required to complete a questionnaire and wear a 24-hour Holter device to determine the physiological signs of stress as indexed by heart rate variability at both baseline and after the intervention. The CIMI group received a 12-week online intervention with 4 components-mobile stress management instruction, a web-based WeChat social network, personalized feedback, and a nurse coach, whereas the control group simply received a self-guided intervention. RESULTS: After a 12-week intervention, the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) scores reduced significantly in the CIMI group (mean difference [MD] -5.31, 95% CI -6.26 to -4.37; P<.001) compared to the baseline levels. The changes in PSS scores before and after the intervention exhibited a significant difference between the CIMI and control groups (d=-0.64; MD -4.03, 95% CI -5.91 to -2.14; P<.001), and the effect was medium. In terms of physiological measures, both the control group (MD -9.56, 95% CI -16.9 to -2.2; P=.01) and the CIMI group (MD -8.45, 95% CI -12.68 to -4.22; P<.001) demonstrated a significant decrease in the standard deviation of normal-to-normal intervals (SDNN) within the normal clinical range; however, there were no significant differences between the 2 groups (d=0.03; MD 1.11, 95% CI -7.38 to 9.59; P=.80). CONCLUSIONS: The CIMI was an effective intervention for improving sleep disorders, as well as parts of the psychological stress measures in distressed HCWs. The findings provide objective evidence for developing a mobile stress management intervention that is adaptable and accessible to distressed HCWs, but its long-term effects should be investigated in future research. Equine breeding plays an essential role in the local economic development of many countries, and it has experienced rapid growth in China in recent years. However, the equine industry, particularly large-scale donkey farms, faces a significant challenge with pregnancy losses. Unfortunately, there is a lack of systematic research on abortion during equine breeding. Several causes, both infectious and non-infectious, of pregnancy losses have been documented in equines. The infectious causes are viruses, bacteria, parasites, and fungi. Non-infectious causes may include long transportation, ingestion of mycotoxins, hormonal disturbances, twinning, placentitis, umbilical length and torsion, etc. In current review, we discuss the transmission routes, diagnostic methods, and control measures for these infectious agents. Early detection of the cause and appropriate management are crucial in preventing pregnancy loss in equine practice. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the potential causes of abortion in equines, including infectious agents and non-infectious factors. It emphasizes the importance of continued research and effective control measures to address this significant challenge in the equine industry.

BACKGROUND: Excessive inflammation and apoptosis in kidneys are critical players in the pathogenesis of acute kidney injury (AKI). Aromadendrin is a natural flavonoid characterized by anti-inflammatory, anti-apoptotic, and antioxidant actions. Thus, we investigated the roles and mechanisms of aromadendrin in the development of AKI. METHODS: Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) was used to induce AKI mice, and one hour after LPS challenge, the mice received oral administration of aromadendrin or vehicle. Renal functions were assessed by measuring blood urea nitrogen and creatinine in serum. Histological changes were determined by hematoxylin and eosin staining. Apoptotic cells of renal tissues were detected by TUNEL staining. Gene expression was measured by western blotting and RT-qPCR. RESULTS: Aromadendrin alleviated LPS-induced renal dysfunctions and histological defects in mice. Additionally, aromadendrin suppressed excessive inflammation and tissue apoptosis in the kidneys of LPS-induced AKI mice. Mechanistically, aromadendrin blocked the activation of NF-κB and MAPK pathways in LPS-induced AKI mice. CONCLUSION: Aromadendrin alleviates LPS-stimulated inflammation and tissue cell apoptosis in kidneys by inactivating the NF-κB and MAPK pathways.

Background: Liver fibrosis significantly impacts public health globally. Untreated liver fibrosis eventually results in cirrhosis. Cigarette smoking is the main etiologic factor for various diseases. However, the causal effects of cigarette smoking on liver fibrosis and cirrhosis have yet to be fully elucidated. Methods: In this study, Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was performed to assess the association between cigarette smoking, liver fibrosis, and cirrhosis. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were selected as instrumental variables from a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of European ancestry. Patients were divided into six exposure categories as follows: "ever smoked," "pack years of smoking," "age of smoking initiation," "smoking status: never," "smoking status: current," and "smoking status: previous." The outcomes of this study included liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. MR-Egger, weighted median, inverse variance weighted, simple mode, and weighted mode were selected as the analysis methods. Cochran's Q and the MR-PRESSO tests were conducted to measure heterogeneity. The MR-Egger method was performed to evaluate horizontal pleiotropy, while the "leave-one-out" analysis was performed for sensitivity testing. Results: The results of this study showed that having a smoking history increases the risk of liver fibrosis and cirrhosis ["ever smoked": odds ratio (OR) = 5.704, 95% CI: 1.166-27.910, p = 0.032; "smoking status: previous": OR = 99.783, 95% CI: 2.969-3.353e+03, p = 0.010]. A negative correlation was observed between patients who never smoked and liver fibrosis and cirrhosis ("smoking status: never": OR = 0.171, 95% CI: 0.041-0.719, p = 0.016). However, there were no significant associations between "smoking status: current," "pack years of smoking," and "age of smoking initiation" and liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. Cigarette smoking did not have a significant horizontal pleiotropic effect on liver fibrosis and cirrhosis. The "Leave-one-out" sensitivity analysis indicated that the results were stable. Conclusion: The study confirmed the causal effects of cigarette smoking on liver fibrosis and cirrhosis.

Baicalin (BAN) has shown promise in alleviating myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, yet its limited solubility and biocompatibility have hindered its application. Developing drug delivery systems is a promising strategy to enhance the therapeutic potential of BAN in the context of I/R injury. This study aims to prepare a BAN-loaded nanodrug system using polydopamine (PDA)-modified Zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) as a carrier, with the goal of improving BAN's mitigating effects on I/R injury. We prepared the BAN nanoparticles (NPs) system, PZB NPs, using ZIF-8 as the carrier. The system was characterized in terms of morphology, particle size, zeta potential, and X-ray diffraction (XRD). We assessed the cytotoxicity of PZB NPs in H9c2 cells, investigated its effects and mechanisms in H/R-induced H9c2 cells, and evaluated its ability to alleviate myocardial I/R injury in rats. PZB NPs exhibited good dispersion, with a BAN loading efficiency of 26.43 ± 1.55%, a hydrated particle size of 102.21 ± 1.19 nm, and a zeta potential of -24.84 ± 0.07 mV. It displayed slow and sustained drug release in an acidic environment (pH 5.5). In vitro studies revealed that PZB NPs was non-cytotoxic and significantly enhanced the recovery of H/R injury H9c2 cell viability. PZB NPs suppressed cell apoptosis, activated the Nrf2/HO-1 pathway, and cleared ROS. In vivo study demonstrated that PZB NPs significantly reduced infarct size, ameliorated fibrosis and improved heart function. The PZB NPs markedly enhances BAN's ability to alleviate I/R injury, both in vitro and in vivo, offering a promising drug delivery system for clinical applications.

In this study, TiO2/P, K-containing grapefruit peel biochar (TiO2/P, K-PC) composites were synthesized in situ biomimetically using grapefruit peel as the bio-template and carbon source and tetrabutyl titanate as the titanium source. This was achieved using the two-step rotary impregnation-calcination method. Adjusting the calcination temperature of the sample in an air atmosphere could regulate the mass ratio of TiO2 to carbon. The prepared samples were subjected to an analysis of their compositions, structures, morphologies, and properties. It demonstrated that the prepared samples were complexes of anatase TiO2 and P, K-containing carbon, with the presence of graphitic carbon. They possessed a unique morphological structure with abundant pores and a large surface area. The grapefruit peel powder played a crucial role in the induction and assembly of TiO2/P, K-PC composites. The sample PCT-400-550 had the best photocatalytic activity, with the degradation rate of RhB, MO, and MB dye solutions reaching more than 99% within 30 min, with satisfactory cyclic stability. The outstanding photocatalytic activity can be credited to its unique morphology and the efficient collaboration between TiO2 and P, K-containing biochar.

Grapefruit peel possesses a porous structure and a significant specific surface area. In this study, we introduce an innovative and eco-friendly approach for synthesizing porous TiO2. This was accomplished by employing grapefruit peel as a bio-template and tetrabutyl titanate as the precursor, utilizing a two-step rotary impregnation-calcination process. The TiO2 faithfully reproduced the structural characteristics of the grapefruit peel across different scales, simultaneously incorporating C, P, K elements from the original grapefruit peel into the final samples. The fabricated samples were analyzed using XRD, XPS, SEM, TEM, BET, and UV-vis DRS. The results showed that the TiO2 displays an anatase phase, and possesses a high specific surface area. The investigation of photocatalytic performance demonstrated that the CPK-TiO2-10 sample exhibited outstanding photocatalytic activity against Rhodamine B (RhB) solution, achieving complete degradation within 60 minutes. Additionally, the total organic carbon (TOC) removal rate reached 91.34% after 60 minutes of irradiation. The sample maintained a high degradation efficiency, even after five recycling cycles. This exceptional performance can be attributed to its porous structure, enriched with pores and a larger surface area, as well as the beneficial effects of doping with C, P, K elements in TiO2.

A series of intelligent films with pH-responsive properties were prepared using Padus virginiana peel extract (PVE) as a smart response factor, κ-carrageenan (κC) as a matrix, and complexed with rice straw lignin (SL). Following the addition of 5 mL PVE at a concentration of 430.99 mg/L, tensile strength and elongation at break of the films increased to a maximum value of 21.25 ± 0.75 MPa and 24.04 ± 0.69 %, respectively. The water vapour permeability of the films decreased with increasing PVE addition, and the minimum value was 5.85 ± 0.09 × 10-11 g m-1 s-1 Pa-1. All the films had favourable thermal stability, transparency, haze and antioxidant properties. PVE-containing films all exhibited excellent pH and ammonia response properties. The higher the humidity of the environment, the faster the ammonia response, and the films were capable of rapid discoloration at 75 % relative humidity. κC/SL-PVE5 can be used to monitor the freshness of chicken breast meat. When the total volatile basic nitrogen of chicken breast meat was increased to 14.27 mg/100 g, κC/SL-PVE5 changed from pink to greyish-yellow. In conclusion, κC/SL-PVE intelligent films hold great promise for real-time monitoring of meat freshness.

Due to the detrimental effects on aquatic organisms and ecosystem, tributyltin as a antifouling agent have been banned worldwide since 1990s. As a replacement for tributyltin, zinc pyrithione (ZnPT) has emerged as a new environmentally friendly antifouling agent. However, the widespread use of ZnPT unavoidably leads to the occurrence and accumulation in aquatic environments, especially in waters with limited sunlight. Despite empirical evidence demonstrating the ecotoxicity and health risks of ZnPT to different organisms, there has been no attempt to compile and interpret this data. The present review revealed that over the past 50 years, numerous studies have documented the toxicity of ZnPT in various organisms, both in vitro and in vivo. However, long-term effects and underlying mechanisms of ZnPT on biota, particularly at environmentally realistic exposure levels, remain largely unexplored. In-depth studies are thus necessary to generate detailed ecotoxicological information of ZnPT for environmental risk assessment and management.

The use of edible packaging films to delay food spoilage has attracted widespread attention. In this study, partridge tea extract (PTE) was added to cassia gum (CG) to prepare CG/PTE films. The microstructure, optical, mechanical, barrier, and antioxidant properties of CG/PTE films were investigated, and the effect of PTE on CG films was shown. The films had high transparency and smooth surface structure. Additionally, PTE significantly improved the elongation at break and antioxidant activity of films. At 2.5% of PTE, the 2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging rate of the film was 46.88% after diluting 50 times, indicating excellent antioxidant property, which could be applied to food preservation. After 9 days of storage, the thiobarbituric acid reactive substances values (TBARS) of chicken jerk packaged with films containing 0% and 2.5% PTE increased from 0.12% to 1.04% and 0.11% to 0.40%, respectively. This study suggests that CG/PTE films can be used to preserve cooked meat.

Understanding the characteristics of bacteriophages is crucial for the optimization of phage therapy. In this study, the biological and genomic characteristics of coliphage LHE83 were determined and its synergistic effects with different types of antibiotics against E. coli E82 were investigated. Phage LHE83 displayed a contractile tail morphology and had a titer of 3.02 × 109 pfu/mL at an optimal MOI of 0.01. Meanwhile, phage LHE83 exhibited good physical and chemical factors tolerance. The 1-step growth analysis revealed a latent period of approx. 10 min with a burst size of 87 pfu/infected cell. Phage LHE83 belongs to the genus Dhakavirus. Its genome consists of 170,464 bp with a 40% GC content, and a total of 268 Open Reading Frames (ORF) were predicted with no detected virulent or resistant genes. ORF 213 was predicted to encode the receptor binding protein (RBP) and confirmed by the antibody-blocking assay. Furthermore, a phage-resistant strain E. coli E82R was generated by co-culturing phage LHE83 with E. coli E82. Genomic analysis revealed that OmpA served as the receptor for phage LHE83, which was further confirmed by phage adsorption assay using E. coli BL21ΔOmpA, E. coli BL21ΔOmpA: OmpA and E. coli BL21:OmpA strains. Additionally, a synergistic effect was observed between phage LHE83 and spectinomycin against the drug-resistant strain E. coli E82. These results provide a theoretical basis for understanding the interactions between phages, antibiotics, and host bacteria, which can assist in the clinical application of phages and antibiotics against drug-resistant bacteria.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is a pathogen for swine, resulting in substantial economic losses to the swine industry. However, there has been little success in developing effective vaccines or drugs for PRRSV control. In the present study, we discovered that Diltiazem HCl, an inhibitor of L-type Ca2+ channel, effectively suppresses PRRSV replication in MARC-145, PK-15CD163 and PAM cells in dose-dependent manner. Furthermore, it demonstrates a broad-spectrum activity against both PRRSV-1 and PRRSV-2 strains. Additionally, we explored the underlying mechanisms and found that Diltiazem HCl -induced inhibition of PRRSV associated with regulation of calcium ion homeostasis in susceptible cells. Moreover, we evaluated the antiviral effects of Diltiazem HCl in PRRSV-challenged piglets, assessing rectal temperature, viremia, and gross and microscopic lung lesions. Our results indicate that Diltiazem HCl treatment alleviates PRRSV-induced rectal temperature spikes, pulmonary pathological changes, and serum viral load. In conclusion, our data suggest that Diltiazem HCl could serve as a novel therapeutic drug against PRRSV infection.
