With the progressive aging of society, there is an increasing prevalence of age-related diseases that pose a threat to the elderly's quality of life. Adipose tissue, a vital energy reservoir with endocrine functions, is one of the most vulnerable tissues in aging, which in turn influences systematic aging process, including metabolic dysfunction. However, the underlying mechanism is still poorly understood. In this study, we found that NRG4, a novel adipokine, is obviously decreased in adipocyte tissues and serums during aging. Moreover, delivered recombinant NRG4 protein (rNRG4) into aged mice can ameliorate age-associated insulin resistance, glucose disorders and other metabolic disfunction. In addition, rNRG4 treatment alleviates age-associated hepatic steatosis and sarcopenia, accompanied with altered gene signatures. Together, these results indicate that NRG4 plays a key role in the aging process and is a therapeutic target for the treatment of age-associated metabolic dysfunction.

Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) is widely noted for its high degree of malignancy, rapid progression, and limited therapeutic options. This study was carried out on transcriptome data of 417 CCA samples from different anatomical locations. The effects of lipid metabolism related genes and immune related genes as CCA classifiers were compared. Key genes were derived from MVI subtypes and better molecular subtypes. Pathways such as epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cell cycle were significantly activated in MVI-positive group. CCA patients were classified into three (four) subtypes based on lipid metabolism (immune) related genes, with better prognosis observed in lipid metabolism-C1, immune-C2, and immune-C4. IPTW analysis found that the prognosis of lipid metabolism-C1 was significantly better than that of lipid metabolism-C2 + C3 before and after correction. KRT16 was finally selected as the key gene. And knockdown of KRT16 inhibited proliferation, migration and invasion of CCA cells.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a prevalent malignancy characterized by an exceedingly high recurrence rate post-surgery, significantly impairing the prognosis of HCC patients. However, a standard in-care strategy for postoperative therapy is still lacking. Although encouraging results have been obtained in a newly published clinical trial for postoperative therapy by targeting the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and programmed death ligand 1 (anti-PD-L1), its efficacy remains constrained. Combining a hemostatic hydrogel with a nanoparticle-based drug delivery system presents an opportunity to optimize the antitumor effect. Herein, we developed a nanoplatform, termed HMSN@Sor/aP@Gel, comprising a hemostatic fibrin hydrogel and functionalized hollow mesoporous silica nanoparticles (HMSNs) loaded with sorafenib and anti-PD-L1 for locally administered targeted-immunotherapy to prevent the postoperative recurrence and metastasis of HCC. The antitumor mechanism is grounded in dual inhibition of Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK (MAPK) and phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT) pathways, synergistically complemented by PD-L1 blockade. HMSN@Sor/aP@Gel facilitates dendritic cell maturation, enhances cytotoxic T-lymphocyte infiltration, promotes the polarization of tumor-associated macrophages to M1 phenotype, induces tumor immunogenic cell death, reverses immunosuppression, and establishes immune memory to counter postoperative recurrence. Animal studies corroborate that HMSN@Sor/aP@Gel-mediated targeted immunotherapy significantly impedes primary and metastatic tumor growth and establishes immune memory to prevent recurrence post-surgery. This investigation presents a promising strategy for postoperative therapy with considerable potential for clinical translation.

Both thermal and environmental processes are significant factors influencing the existing characteristics, e.g., congener distributions, and existing levels, of polychlorinated naphthalenes (PCNs) in the environment. Soil plays an important role in the life cycle of PCNs, but degradation of PCNs in soils has never been reported. In this study, we collected surface soil samples from 13 cities in the Yangtze River Delta, which is one of the most crowded areas of China and analyzed the samples for 75 PCNs. The long-range transportation from polluted areas was the major source for PCNs in remote areas, but the PCN profiles in remote areas reported in our previous studies were different from those in human settlement in this study, indicating there is a transformation of PCNs after emissions from anthropogenic activities. Two experiments were then designed to reveal the degradation mechanisms, including influencing factors, products, and pathways, of PCNs in surface soils. Based on the experiments, we found that the major factor driving the losses of PCNs in surface soils was volatilization, followed by photo irradiation and microbial metabolism. Under photo-irradiation, the PCN structures would be destroyed through a process of dechlorination followed by oxidation. In addition, the dechlorination pathways of PCNs have been established and found to be significantly influenced by the structure-related parameters.

Designing and synthesizing narrow band gap acceptors that exhibit high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) and strong crystallinity is a highly effective, yet challenging, approach to reducing non-radiative energy losses (▵Enr) and boosting the performance of organic solar cells (OSCs). We have successfully designed and synthesized an A-D-A type fused-ring electron acceptor, named DM-F, which features a planar molecular backbone adorned with bulky three-dimensional camphane side groups at its central core. These bulky substituents effectively hinder the formation of H-aggregates of the acceptors, promoting the formation of more J-aggregates and notably elevating the PLQY of the acceptor in the film. As anticipated, DM-F showcases pronounced near-infrared absorption coupled with impressive crystallinity. Organic solar cells (OSCs) leveraging DM-F exhibit a high EQEEL value and remarkably low ▵Enr of 0.14 eV-currently the most minimal reported value for OSCs. Moreover, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of binary and ternary OSCs utilizing DM-F has reached 16.16 % and 20.09 %, respectively, marking a new apex in reported efficiency within the OSCs field. In conclusion, our study reveals that designing narrow band gap acceptors with high PLQY is an effective way to reduce ▵Enr and improve the PCE of OSCs.

As the rapid and accurate screening of infectious diseases can provide meaningful information for outbreak prevention and control, as well as owing to the existing limitations of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), it is imperative to have new and validated detection techniques for SARS-CoV-2. Therefore, the rationale for outlining the techniques used to detect SARS-CoV-2 proteins and performing a comprehensive comparison to serve as a practical benchmark for future identification of similar viral proteins is clear. This review highlights the urgent need to strengthen pandemic preparedness by emphasizing the importance of integrated measures. These include improved tools for pathogen characterization, optimized societal precautions, the establishment of early warning systems, and the deployment of highly sensitive diagnostics for effective surveillance, triage, and resource management. Additionally, with an improved understanding of the virus' protein structure, considerable advances in targeted detection, treatment, and prevention strategies are expected to greatly improve our ability to respond to future outbreaks.

A distinct family of plant-specific WRKY transcription factors plays a crucial role in modulating responses to biotic and abiotic stresses. In this investigation, we unveiled a signaling pathway activated in the desert shrub Ammopiptanthus nanus during feeding by the moth Spodoptera exigua. The process involves a Ca2+ flux that facilitates interaction between the protein kinase AnCIPK12 and AnWRKY29. AnWRKY29 directly interacts with the promoters of two key genes encoding AnPDF1 and AnHsfB1, involved in the biosynthesis of plant defensins. Consequently, AnWRKY29 exerts its transcriptional regulatory function, influencing plant defensins biosynthesis. This discovery implies that A. nanus can bolster resistance against herbivorous insects like S. exigua by utilizing this signaling pathway, providing an effective natural defense mechanism that supports its survival and reproductive success.

Background: Although malnutrition has been shown to influence the clinical outcomes of Stroke Patients with Bulbar Paralysis (SPBP), the prevalence and influencing factors have yet to be uncovered. Objective: This study aims to assess the current prevalence and factors associated with malnutrition in SPBP. Methods: A multicenter cross-sectional investigation was conducted among SPBP in China from 2019 to 2021. Information was collected on basic information, health condition, diagnosis, treatment, neurological function, activities of daily living, swallowing function, and nutritional status. A multivariable logistic regression model was used to identify the factors that influenced nutritional status. ROC analysis was used to assess the predictive value of each independent influencing factor and the logit model. Results: In total, 774 SPBP were enrolled, and the prevalence of malnutrition was 60.59%. Pulmonary infection [aOR:2.849, 95%CI: (1.426, 5.691)], hemoglobin [aOR: 0.932, 95%CI: (0.875, 0.982)], serum albumin [aOR: 0.904, 95%CI: (0.871, 0.938)], total protein [aOR: 0.891, 95%CI: (0.819, 0.969)], prealbumin [aOR: 0.962, 95%CI: (0.932, 0.993)], and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores [aOR: 1.228, 95%CI: (1.054, 1.431)] were independent factors associated with malnutrition in SPBP. ROC analysis revealed that the logit model had the best predictive value [area under the curve: 0.874, 95% CI: (0.812, 0.936); specificity: 83.4%; sensitivity: 79.3%; p < 0.05]. Subgroup analysis showed that the nutritional status in dysphagic SPBP was additionally influenced by swallowing function and nutrition support mode. Conclusion: The prevalence of malnutrition in SPBP was 60.59%. Pulmonary infection, hemoglobin level, and NIHSS score were the independent factors associated with malnutrition. Swallowing function and nutrition support mode were the factors associated with malnutrition in dysphagic SPBP.

Objective: To investigate the impact of metabolic syndrome (MetS) on short-term complications of laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD). Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed perioperative data of patients who underwent LPD in our department from January 2020 to January 2022. The patients were divided into the MetS group and non-MetS group based on whether they had MetS. The incidence of postoperative complications and mortality rate was compared between the two groups. Results: The study involved 279 patients, with 30 having MetS and 249 without. However, the MetS and non-MetS groups differed significantly in terms of postoperative pancreatic fistula rate (26.6% versus 8.4%), abdominal infection rate (33.3% versus 10.0%), pulmonary complications rate (16.7% versus 6.42%), Clavien-Dindo ≥3 rate (20% versus 8.0%), multiple complications rate (23.3% versus 9.6%), percutaneous drainage rate (33.3% versus 10.0%), 90-day mortality rate (6.7% versus 1.2%), and length of postoperative hospital stay (15.00 ± 12.78 versus 10.63 ± 5.23 days). However, the two groups differed no significantly with respect to age, gender, American Society of Anesthesiologists score, preoperative CA125/CA199 levels, surgery time, specimen removal time, and intraoperative blood loss. Conclusion: MetS increases the incidence of postoperative complications and perioperative mortality rate in LPD.

Sensory analysis and untargeted lipidomics were employed to study the impact of phospholipase B (PLB) on lipid oxidation and flavor in steamed sturgeon meat, revealing the inherent relationship between lipid oxidation and flavor regulation. The research verified that PLB effectively suppresses fat oxidation and improves the overall taste of steamed sturgeon meat. Furthermore, the PLB group identified 52 compounds, and the content of odor substances such as isoamyl alcohol and hexanal was reduced compared with other groups. Finally, lipid substances containing eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) or docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) were screened out from 32 kinds of differential phospholipids. Through Pearson correlation analysis, it was observed that certain differential phospholipids such as PC (22:6) and PC (22:5) exhibited varying correlations with odor substances like hexanal and isovaleraldehyde. These findings suggest that PLB specifically affects certain phospholipids, leading to the production of distinct volatile substances through oxidative degradation.

Rationale: With the accelerating process of population aging, the comorbidity of chronic disease (CCD) has become a major public health problem that threatens the health of older adults. Objective: This study aimed to assess whether CCD is associated with basic activities of daily living (BADL) and explore the factors influencing BADL in older adults. Method: A cross-sectional community health survey with stratified random sampling among older residents (≥60 years old) was conducted in 2022. A questionnaire was used to collect information on BADL, chronic diseases, and other relevant aspects. Propensity score matching (PSM) was used to match the older adults with and without CCD. Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to explore the factors influencing BADL. PSM was used to match participants with single-chronic disease (SCD) and CCD. Results: Among the 47,720 participants, those with CCD showed a higher prevalence of BADL disability (13.07%) than those with no CCD (6.33%) and SCD (7.39%). After adjusting for potential confounders with PSM, 6,513 pairs of cases with and without CCD were matched. The univariate analysis found that the older adults with CCD had a significantly higher prevalence of BADL disability (13.07%, 851 of 6,513) than those without CCD (9.83%, 640 of 6,513, P < 0.05). The multivariate logistic regression analysis revealed that CCD was a risk factor for BADL in older adults [OR = 1.496, 95% CI: 1.393-1.750, P < 0.001]. In addition, age, educational level, alcohol intake, social interaction, annual physical examination, retirement benefits, depression, weekly amount of exercise, and years of exercise were related to BADL disability (P < 0.05). PSM matching was performed on participants with CCD and SCD and showed that the older adults with CCD had a significantly higher prevalence of BADL disability (13.07%, 851 of 6,513) than those with SCD (11.39%, 742 of 6,513, P < 0.05). Conclusion: The older adults with CCD are at a higher risk of BADL disability than their counterparts with no CCD or SCD. Therefore, we advocate paying attention to and taking measures to improve the health and quality of life of these individuals.

In this study, two novel donor-acceptor (D-A) copolymers are designed and synthesized, DTBT-2T and DTBT-2T2F with 2,2'-bithiophene or 3,3'-difluoro-2,2'-bithiophene as the donor unit and dithienobenzothiadiazole as the acceptor unit, and used them as donor materials in non-fullerene organic solar cells (OSCs). Due to enhanced planarity of polymer chains resulted by the intramolecular F···S noncovalent interactions, the incorporation of 3,3'-difluoro-2,2'-bithiophene unit instead of 2,2'-bithiophene into the polymers can enhance their molecular packing, crystallinity and hole mobility. The DTBT-2T:L8-BO based binary OSCs deliver a power conversion efficiency (PCE) of only 9.71% with a Voc of 0.78 V, a Jsc of 20.69 mA cm-2 , and an FF of 59.67%. Moreover, the introduction of fluoro atoms can lower the highest occupied molecular orbital levels. As a result, DTBT-2T2F:L8-BO based single-junction binary OSCs exhibited less recombination loss, more balanced charge mobility, and more favorable morphology, resulting in an impressive PCE of 17.03% with a higher Voc of 0.89 V, a Jsc of 25.40 mA cm-2, and an FF of 75.74%. These results indicate that 3,3'-difluoro-2,2'-bithiophene unit can be used as an effective building block to synthesize high performance polymer donor materials. This work greatly expands the selection range of donor units for constructing high-performance polymers.

Given the detrimental impact of global warming on crop production, it is particularly important to understand how plants respond and adapt to higher temperatures. Using the non-invasive micro-test technique and laser confocal microscopy, we found that the cascade process of early signals (K+, H2O2, H+, and Ca2+) ultimately resulted in an increase in the cytoplasmic Ca2+ concentration when Arabidopsis was exposed to heat stress. Quantitative real-time PCR demonstrated that heat stress significantly up-regulated the expression of CAM1, CAM3 and HSFA2; however, after CAM1 and CAM3 mutation, the upregulation of HSFA2 was reduced. In addition, heat stress affected the expression of LOX3 and OPR3, which was not observed when HSFA2 was mutated. Luciferase reporter gene expression assay and electrophoretic mobility shift assay showed that HSFA2 regulated the expression of both genes. Determination of jasmonic acid (JA) content showed that JA synthesis was promoted by heat stress, but was damaged when HSFA2 and OPR3 were mutated. Finally, physiological experiments showed that JA reduced the relative electrical conductivity of leaves, enhanced chlorophyll content and relative water content, and improved the survival rate of Arabidopsis under heat stress. Together, our results reveal a new pathway for Arabidopsis to sense and transmit heat signals; HSFA2 is involved in the JA synthesis, which can act as a defensive compound improving Arabidopsis heat tolerance.

Metrology is the science of measurement and its applications, whereas biometrology is the science of biological measurement and its applications. Biometrology aims to achieve accuracy and consistency of biological measurements by focusing on the development of metrological traceability, biological reference measurement procedures, and reference materials. Irreproducibility of biological and multi-omics research results from different laboratories, platforms, and analysis methods is hampering the translation of research into clinical uses and can often be attributed to the lack of biologists' attention to the general principles of metrology. In this paper, the progresses of biometrology including metrology on nucleic acid, protein, and cell measurements and its impacts on the improvement of reliability and comparability in biological research are reviewed. Challenges in obtaining more reliable biological and multi-omics measurements due to the lack of primary reference measurement procedures and new standards for biological reference materials faced by biometrology are discussed. In the future, in addition to establishing reliable reference measurement procedures, developing reference materials from single or multiple parameters to multi-omics scale should be emphasized. Thinking in way of biometrology is warranted for facilitating the translation of high-throughput omics research into clinical practices.

Nocturnal blood pressure and nighttime dipping patterns are associated with the occurrence of cardiovascular events. However, there is few research on whether riser pattern is associated with the poor prognosis of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and hypertension independent of nighttime systolic blood pressure (SBP). This prospective and observational clinical study included 568 hospitalized patients with CHD and hypertension. All patients underwent 24-h ambulatory blood pressure (BP) monitoring during their hospitalization. Multivariate adjusted Cox proportional hazard models were utilized to examine the associations of nocturnal blood pressure and dipping status with primary endpoint events. Additionally, Harrell's C-statistics were employed to compare the discriminative ability of each model. During the 1-year follow-up period, 64 (11.3%) primary endpoint events were recorded, including 55 (9.7%) atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) events. After adjusting for demographic and clinical risk variables, nighttime SBP was significantly related to the risk of incident primary endpoint events [per 20 mm Hg increase: hazard ratio (HR) = 1.775, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.256-2.507]. The riser pattern group exhibited a significantly higher risk for primary endpoint events compared to the dipper pattern group, even after adjusting for office SBP (HR: 2.687, 95% CI: 1.015-7.110, p = .047). Furthermore, the addition of nighttime SBP or dipping status to the base model yielded statistically significant increments in C-statistic values (p = .036 and p = .007). However, adding both nighttime SBP and dipping status did not significantly enhance the model's performance in predicting the risk of primary endpoint events and ASCVD events according to the C-index (p = .053 and p = .054), which meant that the riser pattern group did not exhibit a significantly higher risk for primary endpoint events compared to the dipper pattern group after adjusting for nighttime SBP. In conclusion, nocturnal SBP and riser pattern demonstrated an association with adverse prognosis in patients with CHD and hypertension. Notably, nocturnal SBP proved to be a more reliable predictor than dipping status.

Background: Laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD) is a complicated surgical procedure that has recently been performed safely. A superior mesenteric artery (SMA)-first approach can allow complete mesopancreas resection, maximizing surgical margins and R0 resection rates. Therefore, the SMA-first approach is recommended. This review is a literature summary of recent updates of the SMA approaches for LPD and informs clinical practice of the advantages of its various approach. Methods: A systematic literature search was performed on the PubMed (MEDLINE) database using truncated word searches and medical subject headings to identify all pertinent published studies. Results: After searching PubMed, 303 studies were identified and reviewed, of which 25 described the SMA-first approach, including the anterior, posterior, right, and left approaches, fully described in 5, 6, 13, and 6 articles, respectively. Conclusions: The SMA-first approach is the standard surgical technique for LPD. This review summarized each SMA-first approach's distinct advantages and indications.

Trehalose, a biological macromolecule with osmotic adjustment properties, plays a crucial role during osmotic stress. As a psammophyte, Ammopiptanthus nanus relies on the accumulation of organic solutes to respond to osmotic stress. We utilized virus-induced gene silencing technology for the first time in the desert shrub A. nanus to confirm the central regulatory role of AnWRKY29 in osmotic stress, as it controls the transcription of AnTPS11 (trehalose-6-phosphate synthase 11). Further investigation has shown that AnHSP90 may interact with AnWRKY29. The AnHSP90 gene is sensitive to osmotic stress, underscoring its pivotal role in orchestrating the response to such adverse conditions. By directly targeting the W-box element within the AnTPS11 promoter, AnWRKY29 effectively enhances the transcriptional activity of AnTPS11, which is facilitated by AnHSP90. This discovery highlights the critical role of AnWRKY29 and AnHSP90 in enabling organisms to adapt to and cope effectively with osmotic stress, which can be a crucial factor in A. nanus survival and overall ecological resilience. Collectively, uncovering the molecular mechanisms underlying the osmotic responses of A. nanus is paramount for comprehending and augmenting the osmotic tolerance mechanisms of psammophyte shrub plants.

In this study, an insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) certified reference material (CRM) was developed by the National Institute of Metrology (NIM), and two different principles for evaluating the IGF-1 CRM were established. After optimisation of the acid hydrolysis conditions (110 °C, 36 h), quantitative determination of peptide purity, and chromatographic separation and mass spectrometric detection, amino acid analysis-based high-performance liquid chromatography combined with isotope-dilution tandem mass spectrometry (AAA-HPLC-IDMS/MS) and peptide analysis-based HPLC-IDMS/MS (Peptide-HPLC-IDMS/MS) were used for certified value assignment; the results obtained were 136.28 and 135.01 µg/g, respectively, which were in good agreement. These results were subjected to the normal distribution test, outlier test, and method consistency test. The homogeneity and stability of the reference materials were also examined, and the uncertainty introduced in the experimental process was calculated. The final certified value was (136 ± 15) µg g-1 (k = 2). The CRM was found to be stable for at least six months when stored at -70 °C and for 7 d when stored at higher temperatures (-20 °C, 4 °C, 25 °C, or 40 °C). The CRM is expected to be used as a primary calibrator for quality control in biopharmaceutical production and clinical diagnostics.

BACKGROUND: Resistance to targeted therapies represents a significant hurdle to successfully treating hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). While epigenetic abnormalities are critical determinants of HCC relapse and therapeutic resistance, the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. We aimed to address whether and how dysregulated epigenetic regulators have regulatory and functional communications in establishing and maintaining drug resistance. METHODS: HCC-resistant cells were characterized by CCK-8, IncuCyte Live-Cell analysis, flow cytometry and wound-healing assays. Target expression was assessed by qPCR and Western blotting. Global and promoter DNA methylation was measured by dotblotting, methylated-DNA immunoprecipitation and enzymatic digestion. Protein interaction and promoter binding of DNMT3a-TET2 were investigated by co-immunoprecipitation, ChIP-qPCR. The regulatory and functional roles of DNMT3a and TET2 were studied by lentivirus infection and puromycin selection. The association of DNMT and TET expression with drug response and survival of HCC patients was assessed by public datasets, spearman correlation coefficients and online tools. RESULTS: We identified the coordination of DNMT3a and TET2 as an actionable mechanism of drug resistance in HCC. The faster growth and migration of resistant HCC cells were attributed to DNMT3a and TET2 upregulation followed by increased 5mC and 5hmC production. HCC patients with higher DNMT3a and TET2 had a shorter survival time with a less favorable response to sorafenib therapy than those with lower expression. Cancer stem cell-like cells (CSCs) displayed DNMT3a and TET2 overexpression, which were insensitive to sorafenib. Either genetic or pharmacological suppression of DNMT3a or/and TET2 impaired resistant cell growth and oncosphere formation, and restored sorafenib sensitivity. Mechanistically, DNMT3a did not establish a regulatory circuit with TET2, but formed a complex with TET2 and HDAC2. This complex bound the promoters of oncogenes (i.e., CDK1, CCNA2, RASEF), and upregulated them without involving promoter DNA methylation. In contrast, DNMT3a-TET2 crosstalk silences tumor suppressors (i.e., P15, SOCS2) through a corepressor complex with HDAC2 along with increased promoter DNA methylation. CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrate that DNMT3a and TET2 act coordinately to regulate HCC cell fate in DNA methylation-dependent and -independent manners, representing strong predictors for drug resistance and poor prognosis, and thus are promising therapeutic targets for refractory HCC.

Lithium-sulfur (Li-S) battery is of great potential for the next generation energy storage device due to the high specific capacity energy density. However, the sluggish kinetics of S redox and the dendrite Li growth are the main challenges to hinder its commercial application. Herein, an organic electrolyte additive, i.e., benzyl chloride (BzCl), is applied as the remedy to address the two issues. In detail, BzCl can split into Bz· radical to react with the polysulfides, forming a Bz-S-Bz intermediate, which changes the conversion path of S and improves the kinetics by accelerating the S splitting. Meanwhile, a tight and robust solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) rich in inorganic ingredients namely LiCl, LiF, and Li2 O, is formed on the surface of Li metal, accelerating the ion conductivity and blocking the decomposition of the solvent and lithium polysulfides. Therefore, the Li-S battery with BzCl as the additive remains high capacity of 693.2 mAh g-1 after 220 cycles at 0.5 C with a low decay rate of 0.11%. This work provides a novel strategy to boost the electrochemical performances in both cathode and anode and gives a guide on the electrolyte design toward high-performance Li-S batteries.
