RESUMEN

Background: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) accounts for about 60% of adult thyroid carcinoma and generally has an excellent prognosis. Primary squamous cell carcinoma of thyroid (PSCCT) is a rare thyroid tumor with high malignancy and poor prognosis. In 2022, the 5th edition of World Health Organization (WHO) has classified it as a subtype of anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (ATC), abbreviated as ATC-squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) subtype. Poorly differentiated thyroid carcinoma (PDTC) is a kind of follicular-derived malignancy, which is prone to recurrence and distant metastasis. Here, we report a rare case of the coexistence of PTC, ATC-SCC subtype and PDTC. Case Description: We herein report a case of 69-year-old female who initially presented with a history of left neck mass for one month. Comprehensive auxiliary examinations and postoperative pathology confirmed the diagnosis of PTC combined with ATC-SCC subtype, and PDTC. Total thyroidectomy with radical left cervical lymph node dissection was performed, followed by thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) suppressive therapy, 131I, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The patient showed no tumor recurrence or metastasis after a 5-month postoperative follow-up. Conclusions: The simultaneous occurrence of PTC, ATC-SCC subtype, and PDTC is extremely rare in clinical terms or literature reports. The treatment has not been standardized, and early radical surgery is the first choice. In addition, the combination of adjuvant therapies such as TSH suppressive therapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and 131I may further improve the prognosis of the patient.

RESUMEN

Optical waveguides fabricated in single crystals offer crucial passive/active optical components for photonic integrated circuits. Single crystals possess inherent advantages over their amorphous counterpart, such as lower optical losses in visible-to-mid-infrared band, larger peak emission cross-section, higher doping concentration. However, the writing of Type-I positive refractive index modified waveguides in single crystals using femtosecond laser technology presents significant challenges. Herein, we introduce a novel femtosecond laser direct writing technique that combines slit-shaping with an immersion oil objective to fabricate low-loss Type-I waveguides in single crystals. This approach allows for precise control of waveguide shape, size, mode-field and refractive index distribution, with a spatial resolution as high as 700 nm and a high positive refractive index variation on the order of 10-2, introducing new degrees of freedom to design and fabricate passive/active optical waveguide devices. As a proof-of-concept, we successfully produced a 7 mm-long circular-shaped gain waveguide (∼10 µm in diameter) in an Er3+-doped YAG single crystal, exhibiting a propagation loss as low as 0.23 dB/cm, a net gain of ∼3 dB and a polarization-insensitive character. The newly-developed technique is theoretically applicable to arbitrary single crystals, holding promising potential for various applications in integrated optics, optical communication, and photonic quantum circuits. RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: The surgical intervention approach to insulinomas in proximity to the main pancreatic duct remains controversial. Standard pancreatic resection is recommended by several guidelines; however, enucleation (EN) still attracts surgeons with less risk of late exocrine/endocrine insufficiency, despite a higher postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF) rate. Recently, the efficacy and safety of preoperative pancreatic stent placement before the EN have been demonstrated. Thus, a multicentre open-label study is being conducted to evaluate the efficacy and safety of stent placement in improving the outcome of EN of insulinomas in proximity to the main pancreatic duct. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: This is a prospective, randomised, open-label, superiority clinical trial conducted at multiple tertiary centres in China. The major eligibility criterion is the presence of insulinoma located in the head and neck of the pancreas in proximity (≤2 mm) to the main pancreatic duct. Blocked randomisation will be performed to allocate patients into the stent EN group and the direct EN group. Patients in the stent EN group will go through stent placement by the endoscopist within 24 hours before the EN surgery, whereas other patients will receive EN surgery directly. The primary outcome is the assessment of the superiority of stent placement in reducing POPF rate measured by the International Study Group of Pancreatic Surgery standard. Both interventions will be performed in an inpatient setting and regular follow-up will be performed. The primary outcome (POPF rate) will be tested for superiority with the Χ2 test. The difference in secondary outcomes between the two groups will be analysed using appropriate tests. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: The study has been approved by the Peking Union Medical College Hospital Institutional Review Board (K23C0195), Ruijin Hospital Ethics Committee (2023-314), Peking University First Hospital Ethics Committee (2024033-001), Institutional Review Board of Xuanwu Hospital of Capital Medical University (2023223-002), Ethics Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU1AF2023LSK-473), Institutional Review Board of Tongji Medical College Tongji Hospital (TJ-IRB202402059), Ethics Committee of Tongji Medical College Union Hospital (2023-0929) and Shanghai Cancer Center Institutional Review Board (2309282-16). The results of the study will be published in an international peer-reviewed journal. TRIAL REGISTRATION NUMBER: NCT05523778.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is a rare endocrine malignancy causing pathological changes such as abnormal bone metabolism, elevated serum calcium, and impaired renal function, and uncontrollable hypercalcemia is the main cause of death in PC patients. The diagnosis of PC is challenging and relying on postoperative histopathology. Radical surgery at the first time is the only effective therapy to cure PC. Hungry bone syndrome (HBS) is a relatively uncommon complication of parathyroidectomy characterized by profound and prolonged hypocalcemia, timely electrolyte monitoring and alternative interventional protocols can prevent symptomatic hypocalcemia. CASE: A 57-year-old man presented with multiple pathological fractures and muscle atrophy as the main symptoms accompanied by bone pain, hypercalcemia, elevated parathyroid hormone (PTH), and an enlarged left-sided neck mass. After consultation of multidisciplinary team, he was treated conservatively with plaster bandage fixation and infusion of intravenous zoledronic acid; and then complete resection of parathyroid mass + removal of involved tissue structures + left thyroid and isthmus lobectomy + lymph node dissection in the VI region in left neck were performed. The postoperative histopathology suggested a diagnosis of parathyroid carcinoma. Calcium and fluid supplementation and oral levothyroxine tablets were given postoperatively. Unexpectedly, the patient's PTH level decreased rapidly at 24 h postoperative, and serum calcium and phosphorus decreased continuously, and he felt numb around perioral sites and fingertips, which considered to be postoperative HBS complicated by parathyroidectomy. Then, a large amount of calcium supplementation and vitamin D were given timely and the patient got better at 1 month postoperatively. At 9-month postoperative, his bone pain and fatigue were significantly relieved compared with before with calcium, phosphorus, and PTH levels at normal range. CONCLUSION: The possibility of parathyroid disease, particularly PC, should be considered in the presence of multiple pathological fractures, muscle atrophy, generalized bone pain, hypercalcemia, and clear neck mass. Radical resection of the tumor lesions at the first surgery is a key element affecting the prognosis of PC, and the effective management of preoperative hypercalcemia and postoperative HBS is also of great significance for improving prognosis.

RESUMEN

Bauxite is an important strategic resource, and it is facing with the problem of balance between high demand of bauxite ore and low resource of bauxite reserves in China. This research takes the Fuxin coal gangue as the object and extracts Al2O3 by medium-temperature calcination and acid pressure leaching process. The results show that at a calcination temperature of 650 °C, calcination time of 2 h, acid pressure leaching temperature of 160 °C and acid pressure leaching time of 6 h, the extraction ratio of Al2O3 reaches 80.19%. Furthermore, the research finding that the complete activation temperatures of kaolinite and muscovite are 650 °C and 850 °C, respectively, and the decomposition reactions of active Si, active Al, and metakaolinite occur above 800 °C, which leads to a low extraction ratio of Al2O3. The acid pressure leaching process can directly destroy the muscovite structure at a calcination temperature of 650 °C. The acid pressure leaching kinetic equations are studied by three kinetic models, and the apparent activation energies of the reactions are calculated by the Arrhenius formula. The results show that acid pressure leaching is subject to solid residue in-layer diffusion control, and the kinetic equation is "". The apparent activation energy is 13.48 kJ mol-1.

RESUMEN

Coal-series diatomite (CSD) is widely distributed in China and has poor functional and structural properties and exhibits limited utilization of high value-added materials, resulting in a serious waste of resources and tremendous pressure on the environment. Moreover, due to differences in the mineralogical characteristics of CSD, different particle size scales (PSSs) have different functional structures and exhibit different self-similarities. In this study, we took CSD as the research object and PSS as the entry point and carried out a self-similarity study based on gas adsorption and an image processing method to illustrate the microstructures and self-similarities of different PSSs. The results showed that the pore structure of the CSD was dominated by mesopores and macropores and basically lacked micropores. The fractal dimensions were calculated with the Frenkel-Haisey-Hill (FHH) model and Menger model, and the DF1 values for - 0.025 mm and - 2 mm were 2.51 and 2.48, respectively, and the DM1 values were 3.75 and 3.79, respectively, indicating that the mesopore structure of the fine PSS was complex, whereas macropores were present in the coarse PSS. MATLAB was programmed to obtain grayscale thresholds, binarized images, grayscale histograms, three-dimensional (3D) reconstruction images and box dimensions, which enabled us to observe the microstructures and self-similarities of the CSD. Self-similarity studies based on particle sizes are very important for functional application of CSD.Please note that article title mismatch between MS and JS we have followed MS, kindly check and cofirm.Yes, I have checked and confirmed.Kindly check and confirm corresponding author mail id are correctly identified.Yes, I have checked and confirmed.

RESUMEN

Understanding species distribution patterns and what determines them is critical for effective conservation planning and management. In the case of shorebirds migrating along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway (EAAF), the loss of stopover habitat in the Yellow Sea region is thought to be the primary reason for the precipitous population declines. However, the rates of decline vary considerably among species, and it remains unclear how such differences could arise within a group of closely related species using apparently similar habitats at the same locales. We mapped the spatial distributions of foraging shorebirds, as well as biotic (benthic invertebrates consumed by migrating shorebirds) and abiotic (sediment characteristics) environmental factors, at a key stopover site in eastern China. Five of the six sediment characteristics showed significant spatial variation with respect to distance along the shoreline or distance from the seawall in the same tidal flat. The biomasses of four of the six most abundant benthic invertebrates were concentrated in the upper or middle zones of the tidal flat. The distribution patterns of all three focal shorebird species on the tidal flat were best explained jointly by this heterogeneity of sediment characteristics and invertebrate prey. These results suggest that the loss of tidal flats along the Yellow Sea, which is typically concentrated at the upper and middle zones, may not only reduce the overall amount of staging habitat, but also disproportionately affect the most resource-rich portions for the birds. Effective conservation of shorebird staging areas along the EAAF and likely elsewhere must consider the subtle habitat heterogeneity that characterizes these tidal flats, prioritizing the protection of those portions richest in food resources, most frequently used by focal bird species, and most vulnerable to anthropogenic threats. Article impact statement: Heterogeneity of tidal flats with respect to biotic and abiotic factors must be considered in shorebird conservation planning.

High-gain materials and high-quality structures are the two main conditions that determine the amplification performance of optical waveguides. However, it has been hard to balance each other, to date. In this work, we demonstrate breakthroughs in both glass optical gain and optical waveguide structures. We propose a secondary melting dehydration technique that prepares high-quality Er3+-Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glass with low absorption loss. Additionally, we propose a femtosecond laser direct-writing technique that allows controlling the cross section, size, and mode field of waveguides written in glass with high accuracy, leveraging submicron-resolution multi-scan direct-writing optical waveguide technology, which is beneficial for reducing insertion loss. As a proof of concept demonstration, we designed and fabricated two kinds of waveguides, namely, LP01- and LP11-mode waveguides in the Er3+-Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glass, enabling insertion loss as low as 0.9 dB for a waveguide length of 2 mm. Remarkably, we successfully achieved an optical amplification for both the waveguides with a net gain of >7 dB and a net-gain coefficient of >3.5 dB/mm, which is approximately one order of magnitude larger than that in the Er3+-Yb3+ co-doped phosphate glass fabricated by the traditional melt-quenching method. This will open new avenues toward the development of integrated photonic chips.

RESUMEN

Thermoelectric (TE) effect based temperature sensor can accurately convert temperature signal into voltage without external power supply, which have great application prospects in self-powered temperature electronic skin (STES). But the fabrication of stretchable and distributed STES still remains a challenge. Here, a novel STES design strategy is proposed by combining flexible island-bridge structure with BiTe-based micro-thermoelectric generator (µ-TEG). Furthermore, a 4 × 4 vertical temperature sensor array with good stretchability and distributed sensing property has been fabricated for the first time. The interfacial chemical bonds located between the rigid islands (µ-TEG) and the flexible substrate (polydimethylsiloxane, PDMS) endow the STES with excellent stretchability, and its sensing performance remains unchanged under 30% strain (the maximum strain of human skin). Moreover, the STES sensing unit possesses high sensitivity (729 µV K-1 ), rapid response time (0.157 s), and high spatial resolution (2.75 × 2.75 mm2 ). As a proof of concept, this work demonstrates the application of the STES in the detection of mini-region heat sources in various scenarios including noncontact spatial temperature responsing, intelligent robotic thermosensing, and wearable temperature sensing. Such an inspiring design strategy is expected to provide guidance for the design and fabrication of wearable self-powered temperature sensors.

RESUMEN

In oncolytic virus (OV) therapy, a critical component of tumor immunotherapy, viruses selectively infect, replicate within, and eventually destroy tumor cells. Simultaneously, this therapy activates immune responses and mobilizes immune cells, thereby eliminating residual or distant cancer cells. However, because of OVs' high immunogenicity and immune clearance during circulation, their clinical applications are currently limited to intratumoral injections, and their use is severely restricted. In recent years, numerous studies have used nanomaterials to modify OVs to decrease virulence and increase safety for intravenous injection. The most commonly used nanomaterials for modifying OVs are liposomes, polymers, and albumin, because of their biosafety, practicability, and effectiveness. The aim of this review is to summarize progress in the use of these nanomaterials in preclinical experiments to modify OVs and to discuss the challenges encountered from basic research to clinical application.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Computed tomography (CT) in port-venous phase can display the intra-hepatic vessels, and may provide the possibility for segment function evaluation for cirrhosis. PURPOSE: To assess the value of iodine mixed imaging of dual-source dual-energy CT in port-venous phase in segmental evaluation of liver cirrhosis with different etiologies. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Patients diagnosed with liver cirrhosis were enrolled. Patients without cirrhosis were included as a control group. Each patient underwent iodine-contrast enhanced multi-phase dual-energy CT scanning. Parameters were analyzed by SPSS, version 22.0, and Medcalc. RESULTS: In total, 256 patients were investigated, including 114 Child-Pugh A, 51 Child-Pugh B, 41 Child-Pugh C and 50 control patients. Total iodine content (ICt)/body surface area (BSA) in the cirrhosis group was significantly lower than the control group (P < 0.05) and the standardized-iodine parameter (SI) of each segment decreased with cirrhosis progression. In Child-Pugh A and B, SI increased more significantly in the caudal and lateral segment in A (alcholism) than in the V (virus-related) and N (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) groups (P < 0.001). ICt/BSA showed the best diagnosis power of cirrhosis with an area under the curve of 0.765, sensitivity of 76.0% and specificity of 71.8%. CONCLUSION: Blood flow compensated in the left lateral and caudal lobe in the early stage of liver cirrhosis. The compensation in alcoholism in the middle and early stages is significantly higher than that of V and N cirrhosis. Iodine mixed imaging in portal phase may provide the possibility of an incremental value in segmented blood flow perfusion and functional evaluation of liver cirrhosis on a morphological basis.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Group living animals, such as shorebirds foraging on intertidal mudflats, may use social information about where to find hidden food items. However, flocking also increases intraspecific competition for resources, which may be exacerbated by food scarcity. Therefore, although aggregation may bring benefits, it may also increase the intensity of intraspecific competition. METHODS: We examined this trade-off in adult great knots Calidris tenuirostris, a molluscivorous long-distance migrating shorebird species, using interannual variation based on 2 years with different levels of food availability during their northward migratory staging in the northern Yellow Sea, China. We estimated individual home ranges and the extent of spatial overlap of home ranges of individually tagged birds in 2012 and 2015, whilst discounting for possible differences in body size, body mass, sex and migration schedule between years. RESULTS: We found that home range size was not associated with body mass, arrival date, body size, or sex of the individual. Despite a significant difference in food availability between the two study years, there was no significant change in the 50% and 95% home range size of great knots in the contrasting situations. However, there was a significantly smaller spatial overlap between individuals in the year when food was less available, suggesting that great knots operated more independently when food was scarce than when it was abundant. CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that minimizing intraspecific competition became more important when food was scarce. Where it is impossible to monitor all habitats en route, monitoring the local movements of shorebirds may offer a way to detect changes in habitat quality in real time.

RESUMEN

Lentiviral vector (LV)-based gene therapy holds promise for a broad range of diseases. Analyzing more than 280,000 vector integration sites (VISs) in 273 samples from 10 patients with X-linked severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID-X1), we discovered shared LV integrome signatures in 9 of 10 patients in relation to the genomics, epigenomics, and 3D structure of the human genome. VISs were enriched in the nuclear subcompartment A1 and integrated into super-enhancers close to nuclear pore complexes. These signatures were validated in T cells transduced with an LV encoding a CD19-specific chimeric antigen receptor. Intriguingly, the one patient whose VISs deviated from the identified integrome signatures had a distinct clinical course. Comparison of LV and gamma retrovirus integromes regarding their 3D genome signatures identified differences that might explain the lower risk of insertional mutagenesis in LV-based gene therapy. Our findings suggest that LV integrome signatures, shaped by common features such as genome organization, may affect the efficacy of LV-based cellular therapies.

RESUMEN

Loss and/or deterioration of refuelling habitats have caused population declines in many migratory bird species but whether this results from unequal mortality among individuals varying in migration traits remains to be shown. Based on 13 years of body mass and size data of great knots (Calidris tenuirostris) at a stopover site of the Yellow Sea, combined with resightings of individuals marked at this stopover site along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway, we assessed year to year changes in annual apparent survival rates, and how apparent survival differed between migration phenotypes (i.e. migration timing and fuel stores). The measurements occurred over a period of habitat loss and/or deterioration in this flyway. We found that the annual apparent survival rates of great knots rapidly declined from 2006 to 2018, late-arriving individuals with small fuel stores exhibiting the lowest apparent survival rate. There was an advancement in mean arrival date and an increase in the mean fuel load of stopping birds over the study period. Our results suggest that late-arriving individuals with small fuel loads were selected against. Thus, habitat loss and/or deterioration at staging sites may cause changes in the composition of migratory phenotypes at the population-level.

RESUMEN

Tui Na or massage therapy alleviates symptoms related to intervertebral disc degeneration (IDD). However, precise, repeatable, standardized instructions for Tuina manipulation are lacking. This study establishes IDD model rabbits induced by fibrous ring puncture, creates targeted Tuina stimulation protocols at the acupuncture points in the lumbar region, and describes in detail the operation methods and requirements of kneading, pointing, and flicking. New Zealand male white rabbits (n = 15) were selected and randomly divided into a blank group, a model group, and a Tuina group. The rabbits in the model group and the Tuina group were molded by fibrous ring puncture; the rabbits in the model group were only immobilized on the operating table without treatment. In contrast, the Tuina group used the "8N/10N, 30 cycles/min" prescription for kneading, pointing, and flicking to perform the intervention, using tactile sensory aids to monitor and regulate the intensity of the Tuina operation. Imaging diagnosis and pathological tests were used to assess the effect of Tuina in rabbits, and the results showed improved imaging features and significantly lowered pathology scores of lumbar disc degeneration in the Tuina group compared to the model group (P < 0.01). Targeted Tuina in the lumbar region may be beneficial in the alleviation of lumbar disc degeneration, but further verification is needed. By regularly performing Tuina and recording the mechanical information involved enables reproducible manipulation prescriptions and helps to observe the basic features of the underlying mechanism of Tuina for IDD.

RESUMEN

The traditional preparation of ZSM-5 molecular sieves relies on chemical reagents to provide silicon and aluminum sources, which are limited as raw materials and cannot be commonly used in production practice. Using coal gangue as the raw material and using medium-temperature chlorination roasting and the pressure acid leaching process to control the silicon-aluminum ratio [n(Si/Al)] of coal gangue, a ZSM-5 molecular sieve was prepared using the alkali melting hydrothermal method. The pressure acid leaching process solved the limitation that kaolinite and mica cannot simultaneously be activated. Under optimal conditions, the n(Si/Al) of the coal gangue increased from 6.23 to 26.14 and complied with the requirements for the synthesis n(Si/Al) of a ZSM-5 molecular sieve. The effect of n(Si/Al) on the preparation of the ZSM-5 molecular sieve was studied. Finally, spherical granular ZSM-5 molecular sieve material with a microporous specific surface area of 169.6329 m2/g, an average pore diameter of 0.6285 nm, and a pore volume of 0.0988 cm3/g was prepared. Providing ideas for the high-value utilization of coal gangue, it is significant for solving the problem of coal gangue solid waste, as well as the problem of ZSM-5 molecular sieve feed stock.

RESUMEN

Inscription of fiber-compatible active waveguides in high-gain glass, followed by direct interconnection with few-mode fibers, is one of the most promising solutions for all-optical mode-division multiplexing. In this work, based on the femtosecond laser writing technique, we propose a general fabrication scheme for inscribing high-order mode waveguides in glass, by carefully tailoring the cross-section of the waveguides to match the mode intensity distribution via an improved multi-scan approach. Specifically, we design and fabricate two kinds of waveguides, namely, LP01-mode waveguide and LP11-mode waveguide in a highly Er3+-doped phosphate glass, enabling the insertion loss of the waveguides to be as low as 1.88 dB, and the mode extraction factor of the LP11-mode waveguide up to ∼24 dB. Importantly, we have successfully achieved optical amplification of the waveguides, with an on-off gain as high as 3.52 dB. This novel high-order mode waveguide amplifier has broad application prospects in monolithic on-chip integrated photonic light sources and optical interconnection with few-mode fiber and/or silicon-based waveguide.

RESUMEN

Many studies have documented the average body size of animals declining over time. Compared to mean body size, less is known about long-term changes in intraspecific trait variation (ITV), which is also important to understanding species' ability to cope with environmental challenges. On the basis of 393,499 specimen records from 380 species collected in North America between 1880 and 2020, we found that body size ITV increased by 9.59% for mammals (n = 302) and 30.67% for birds (n = 78); human-harvested species had higher probability of ITV increase. The observed increasing ITV in many species suggests possible niche expansion and potential buffering effects against downsizing but it risks increased maladaptation to rapidly changing environments. The results demonstrate that trait mean and variance do not necessarily respond in similar ways to anthropogenic pressures and both should be considered.

RESUMEN

Bmpr2 plays a central role in the regulation of reproductive development in mammals, but its role during ovarian development in fish is still unclear. To ascertain the function of bmpr2 in ovarian development in the ricefield eel, we isolated and characterized the bmpr2 cDNA sequence; the localization of Bmpr2 protein was determined by immunohistochemical staining; and the expression patterns of bmpr2 in ovarian tissue incubated with FSH and hCG in vitro were analyzed. The full-length bmpr2 cDNA was 3311 bp, with 1061 amino acids encoded. Compared to other tissues, bmpr2 was abundantly expressed in the ovary and highly expressed in the early yolk accumulation (EV) stages of the ovary. In addition, a positive signal for Bmpr2 was detected in the cytoplasm of oocytes in primary growth (PG) and EV stages. In vitro, the expression level of gdf9, the ligand of bmpr2, in the 10 ng/mL FSH treatment group was significantly higher after incubation for 4 h than after incubation for different durations. However, bmpr2 expression in the 10 ng/mL FSH treatment group at 2 h, 4 h and 10 h was significantly lower. Importantly, the expression level of bmpr2 and gdf9 in the 100 IU/mL hCG group had similar changes that were significantly decreased at 4 h and 10 h. In summary, Bmpr2 might play a pivotal role in ovarian growth in the ricefield eel, and these results provide a better understanding of the function of bmpr2 in ovarian development and the basic data for further exploration of the regulatory mechanism of gdf9 in oocyte development.

RESUMEN

To understand the characteristics of the fish community structure and biomass particle-size spectrum in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, fish and environmental surveys were conducted in 21 segments of the upper reaches of the Jinsha River in September 2019 and June 2020. A total of 4062 fish belonging to 2 orders, 5 families, 18 genera, and 28 species were collected. Among them, Cyprinidae fish were the most abundant (14 species), accounting for 50.00%. The Shannon index and Pielou evenness index values varied from 0.402-1.770 and 0.254-0.680, respectively. The dominant species of fish were Triplophysa stenura, Schizothorax wangchiachii, and Schizopygopsis malacanthus. Redundancy analysis (RDA) was used to analyse the relationship between the fish community and environmental factors. Velocity, altitude, and dissolved oxygen were the main influencing factors of fish community structure differences in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River. The abundance/biomass curves showed that the fish communities in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River were moderately or severely disturbed. The standardized biomass particle-size spectrum of fish showed that the degree of disturbance of fish in tributaries was much lower than that in the main stream. Compared with the historical data, the fish community structure in the Jinsha River has changed significantly, with the number of exotic species increasing, and the individual fish showing miniaturization and younger ages. It is suggested that habitat conservation strategies be adopted in the upper tributaries of the Jinsha River to provide a reference for the restoration of fishery resources and the conservation of fish diversity in the Yangtze River.
