RESUMEN

A combined approach to neuroreconstructive effects on pathogenesis mechanisms of vegetative state that develops as a result of severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). It is shown that under the influence of chemical transtimpanal vestibular dereception and transcranial micropolarization (TDCS) accelerated and more pronounced therapeutic effect than conventional therapy. Neurophysiological in-depth examination of the dynamics shows that over time in patients in a vegetative state, picking up the intensity, "tension" and "rigidity" of inter-regional cortical interactions in the organization that are beginning to dominate the area TPO cortex of both hemispheres. It is suggested that in the dislocation of the brain stem in severe TBI is vestibulotalamic tract, thanks to its anatomical location, is the least vulnerable. As a result, the prevailing afferentation forming inter-regional cortical interactions is vestibular afferent impulses. On its basis the pathological functional system, blocking the work of other functional systems of the damaged brain. Suggested treatments significantly reduce the amount of vestibular afferent flow and open up the possibility of recovery of more effective interafferential interactions. This greatly facilitates the work of the brain as a multimodal analyzer.

RESUMEN

The importance of six theoretically calculated molecular parameters in the antigibberellin (retardant) activity of quaternary ammonium salts is studied using regression analysis. A bioassay system based on cell culture of fungus Gibberella fujikuroi is used to determine the activity. In the case of N,N,N-trimethyl-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium chloride (choline) and N,N,N-triethyl-N-(2-hydroxyethyl)ammonium chloride (N,N,N-triethylcholine) derivatives with linear structure, the polarizability, proton acceptor activity, and lipophilicity of these compounds exert the largest effect on the antigibberellin activity. The antigibberellin activity of more sterically hindered N,N-dialkylpiperidinium salts was mainly defined by the steric parameter, while the polarizability, proton acceptor activity, and (through them) lipophilicity exert a lesser effect. Other parameters are of minor importance for the three groups of compounds studied. RESUMEN

A patient with pulmonary hypertension and focal liver cirrhosis was hospitalized on the 12-th week of pregnancy because of threatened abortion and died after 2 days of hospital stay during which symptoms of portal and pulmonary hypertension progressed, decompensation of pulmonary heart and hepatic cellular insufficiency ensued and syndrome of disseminated intravascular coagulation developed.

RESUMEN

In the study of 164 patients with atherogenic dyslipidemia the authors studied side effects of aiconol, concentrated cod liver oil. Its lipid component contains not less than 18% of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA). All the patients were divided into 4 groups: 51 subjects of group 1 received aiconol in the form of oil, 35 subjects of group 2 had protein dietetic caviar prepared from animal proteins with addition of 3% aiconol, 38 subjects of group 3 were given protein-oil emulsion containing 20% aiconol and 40 patients of group 4 took gelatin aiconol in capsules. Side effects of the above food ingredients enriched with omega-3 PUFA were found to be of metabolic nature. These manifested most evidently in patients on oil aiconol incorporating both maximal doses of omega-3 PUFA and the largest amounts of inert constituents acting as additional fat load on the liver and pancreas. Group 1 patients also suffered from aggravated chronic gastrointestinal, hepatic and pancreatic disorders. Because of reduced quantities of omega-3 PUFA in the diets of group 2, 3 and 4 patients, they displayed much less severe side effects.

RESUMEN

The clinical efficacy of the foodstuff euconol was studied in 72 patients with coronary heart diseases, stable angina of effort, postinfarct cardiosclerosis, or silent myocardial ischemia. A good antianginal effect was achieved in 51.4% of patients treated with euconol. At month 4 of treatment, the patients with coronary heart disease displayed a significant decrease in the number of anginal episodes and nitroglycerin tablets; this was followed by a reduction in the number and duration of silent myocardial ischemic episodes. It is concluded that a prolonged euconol intake causes positive changes in the blood lipid composition and natural history of coronary heart disease.
