RESUMEN

A novel metal-doped carbon quantum dot, zinc-chlorine co-doped carbon quantum dots (Zn/Cl-CQDs), has been developed for the fluorescent probe detection of vitamin B2 and the analysis of the correlation properties of this carbon quantum dot and vitamin B2. Stability experiments demonstrate that Zn/Cl-CQDs possess good fluorescence properties under alkaline conditions. However, when vitamin B2 is added into Zn/Cl-CQDs, the fluorescence intensity decreases sharply, indicating that the fluorescence sensor shows rapid and sensitive detection of vitamin B2 under the static quenching. Lastly, the use of Zn/Cl-CQDs in the detection of vitamin B2 tablets and vitamin B2-rich fruits resulted in recovery rates of 98.2% and 100.6%, respectively. Therefore, this method can be well applied to the detection and analysis of vitamin B2, and has great development prospects in the pharmaceutical industry and food monitoring fields.

RESUMEN

Colorant tartrazine is widely used in the food industry, but its long-term and excessive consumption is harmful to human health. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a sensitive detection method for tartrazine. Blue fluorescent carbon dots with L-arginine and o-phenylenediamine as precursors, namely L-Arg/oPD-CDs, were prepared via the hydrothermal method. Then, L-Arg/oPD-CDs were further purified by dialysis, thin layer chromatography and column chromatography. A dual-mode nanosensor based on fluorescent and UV absorption was successfully developed. Excellent linear ranges of 0-5 µM and 10-50 µM were obtained with a low detection limit of 42.3 nM based on fluorescence. A good linear range of 0-50 µM was obtained with a low detection limit of 130.15 nM based on UV absorption. The quenching mechanism of tartrazine towards L-Arg/oPD-CDs fluorescence was the inner filter effect. In addition, a dual-mode nanosensor was used for tartrazine determination in millet, maize flour, carbonated drink, and sugar samples. This study provides new insight into the detection of tartrazine by applying a dual-mode nanosensor.

RESUMEN

To know more about the potential roles of endophytic fungi in the formation mechanism of Daodi medicinal material, diversity and communities of culturable endophytic fungi in three types of tree peonies were investigated. Endophytic fungi of three types of tree peonies were isolated and identified. The diversity was analyzed. Bayesian trees constructed by MrBayes 3.2.6 after phylogenetic analysis of the ITS sequences. The endophytic fungi potential for synthesis of natural products was assessed by means of detecting NRPS and PKS gene sequences. In total, 364 endophytic fungi isolates representing 26 genera were recovered from Paeonia ostii 'Feng Dan', Paeonia ostii 'Luoyang Feng Dan', and Paeonia suffruticosa 'Luoyang Hong'. More culturable endophytic fungi appeared in P. suffruticosa 'Luoyang Hong' (206) compared with P. ostii 'Feng Dan' (60) and P. ostii 'Luoyang Feng Dan' (98). The fungal community of P. ostii 'Feng Dan' had the highest richness and diversity. PKSs and NRPS detection rates of endophytic fungi from P. ostii 'Feng Dan' are both the highest among the three types of tree peonies. Results indicate that endophytic fungus is an important factor of Daodi Cortex Moutan forming, and endophytic fungi in peony are related to genuineness of Cortex Moutan.

RESUMEN

A sensitive and simple method for flame atomic absorption spectrometry determination of traces of cadmium and chromium(III) species in water samples after preconcentration by cloud point extraction has been developed. A novel complex agent of alizarin complexone with cadmium (Cd) and chromium (Cr(III)) was quantitatively extracted in surface primary alcohol ethoxylate-rich phase at 33 °C. The effects of experimental conditions including pH of sample solution, concentration of chelating agent and salt, equilibration temperature and time, and foreign ions were evaluated in order to enhance sensitivity of the method. Under optimal conditions, the low limit detections were 6.7 and 3.2 µg/L, and the enrichment factors were 24 and 20 for Cd and Cr(III), respectively. The relative standard deviations were 3.8 and 2.5% for Cd and Cr(II), respectively (n = 11). The high recoveries of the spiked Cd and Cr(III) ions were obtained in the range of 90-116%. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of Cd and Cr(III) in water samples.

RESUMEN

A method based on cloud point extraction (CPE) separation/preconcentration of trace cadmium (Cd) as a prior step to its determination by flame atomic absorption spectrometry has been developed. Cadmium reacted with 8-hydroxyquinoline to form hydrophobic chelates, which were extracted into the micelles of nonionic surfactant oligoethylene glycol monoalkyl ether (Genapol X-080) in an alkaline medium. Octanol was used to depress the cloud point of Genapol X-080 in the extraction process. The chemical variables that affect the CPE, such as pH of complexation reaction, amount of chelating agent, Genapol X-080 and octanol were evaluated and optimized. Under optimized conditions, linearity was obeyed in the range of 10-500 µg/L, with the correlation coefficient of 0.9993. For 5 mL of sample solution, the enhancement factor was about 20. The limit of detection and limit of quantification of the method were 0.21 and 0.63 µg/L, respectively. The relative standard deviations (n = 6) was 3.2% for a solution containing 100 µg/L of Cd. The accuracy of the preconcentration system was evaluated by recovery measurements on spiked water samples. Recoveries of spiked samples varied in the range of 94.1-103.8%.

RESUMEN

A simple and practical extraction method of supramolecular solvents (SUPRAS) was developed for separation and enrichment of trace amounts of palladium (Pd) and silver (Ag) in water samples prior to flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) analysis. The SUPRAS selected was made up of an aqueous solution containing tetrahydrofuran and nonanoic acid. Pd and Ag reacted with diethyldithiocarbamate to form hydrophobic chelates, which were extracted into the vesicles of SUPRAS. Different parameters such as the concentration of chelating agent, sample pH, supramolecular solvent and the effect of foreign ions were studied. Under the optimal conditions, the linear ranges of Pd and Ag were from 10 to 1,000 µg/L. The relative recoveries of Pd and Ag in tap and river water samples at the spiking level of 10 ug/mL ranged from 90.8 to 116%. The relative standard deviations were 3.6-4.0% (n = 9), the limits of detection were 2.8 and 1.9 µg/L and the enrichment factors were 36 and 18 for Pd and Ag, respectively. The quantification limits were 3.2 and 2.4 µg/L. The method was successfully applied to the determination of Pd and Ag in water samples.
