RESUMEN

In this work, a novel two-dimensional semiconducting metal covalent organic framework (CuTAPc-TFPP-COF) was synthesized and used as biosensing platform to construct aptasensor for trace detection of tetracycline (TC). The CuTAPc-TFPP-COF integrates the highly conjugated structure, large specific surface area, high porosity, abundant nitrogen functional groups, excellent electrochemical activity, and strong bioaffinity for aptamers, providing abundant active sites to effectively anchor aptamer strands. As a result, the CuTAPc-TFPP-COF-based aptasensor shows high sensitivity for detecting TC via specific recognition between aptamer and TC to form Apt-TC complex. An ultralow detection limit of 59.6 fM is deduced from the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy within a wide linear range of 0.1-100000 pM for TC. The CuTAPc-TFPP-COF-based aptasensor also exhibits good selectivity, reproducibility, stability, regenerability, and excellent applicability for real river water, milk, and pork samples. Therefore, the CuTAPc-TFPP-COF-based aptasensor will be promising for detecting trace harmful antibiotics residues in environmental water and food samples.

RESUMEN

Osteoporosis stands out as a prevalent metabolic disorder, bearing significant repercussions on human well-being and overall quality of life. It remains an urgent concern within the global public health framework due to its widespread occurrence. Osteoporosis arises from an abnormal metabolism in osteoblasts and osteoclasts, resulting in a disruption of the delicate equilibrium between bone formation and bone resorption. Within this context, deer antler peptides emerge as natural active compounds, wielding a pivotal role in governing the differentiation, proliferation, and mineralization of osteoblasts, as well as influencing the activity of osteoclasts. This article aims to consolidate our comprehension of the mechanisms underpinning the dynamic balance between bone formation and resorption, meticulously orchestrated by osteoblasts and osteoclasts in osteoporosis. Furthermore, it offers a comprehensive overview of how deer antler peptides, through their modulation of relevant signaling pathways, contribute to the enhancement of bone homeostasis. These insights deepen our understanding of the pathological processes through which deer antler peptides ameliorate bone homeostasis, while also presenting novel strategies for osteoporosis management.

RESUMEN

In this work, a metal-organic framework@covalent organic framework composite (TPN-COF@Fe-MIL-100) was prepared and used as a sensing material to construct an aptasensor for trace detection of tetracycline (TET). The TPN-COF@Fe-MIL-100 integrates a large surface area, porous structure, excellent electrochemical activity, rich chemical functionality, and strong bioaffinity for aptamers, providing abundant active sites to effectively anchor aptamer strands. As a result, the TPN-COF@Fe-MIL-100-based aptasensor shows high sensitivity for detecting TET via specific recognition between aptamer and TET to form G-quadruplex. An ultralow detection limit of 1.227 fg mL-1 is deduced from the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy within a wide linear range of 0.01-10000 pg mL-1 for TET. The TPN-COF@Fe-MIL-100-based aptasensor also exhibits good selectivity, reproducibility, stability, regenerability, and applicability for a real milk sample. Therefore, the TPN-COF@Fe-MIL-100-based aptasensor will be promising for detecting trace harmful antibiotics residues for food safety.

RESUMEN

The incidence of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and diabetes mellitus (DM) is increasing year by year. Clinical findings show that Banxia Xiexin Decoction (BXD) can be combined to treat MCI and DM. However, the principle and mechanism of BXD in treating MCI and DM remain unclear. In this study, to explore the common mechanism of BXD in treating MCI and DM by using the method of network pharmacology. Traditional Chinese Medicine Systems Pharmacology Database (TCMSP) was used to screen the main active components of BXD, as well as to predict and screen its potential targets. Using Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM), Therapeutic Target Database (TTD), DisGeNET, GeneCards to select the target proteins of two diseases, and intersecting the drug target and the disease target to obtain the common target of drug diseases, which is imported into cytoscape software to draw the network diagram of "drug components-target diseases" and the interaction network diagram between the common target proteins. According to the Database for Annotation, Visualization and Integrated Discovery (DAVID) database, we analyzed the common targets using two methods, gene ontology Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) biological pathway enrichment analysis and Gene Ontology (GO) function enrichment analysis, as well as studied the interaction mechanism of the two diseases, with the results validated using molecular docking. A total of 267 main active components of BXD were screened, together with the two diseases shared 233 common targets. The top five key targets identified by the topological analysis were TP53, AKT1, STAT3, TNF, and MAPK3. Go enrichment results indicated that it was primarily related to response to drug, extracellular space, enzyme binding, RNA polymerase II transcription factor activity, ligand-activated sequence-specific DNA binding. t KEGG enrichment pathway analysis identified 20 significant pathways, the majority of which are AGE-RAGE signaling pathways in diabetic complications, lipid and atherosclerosis, fluid shear stress and atherosclerosis, IL-17 signaling pathway, TNF signaling pathway, and so on. The results of molecular docking revealed that the key components of BXD, baicalein, licochalcone a, quercetin, and naringenin, had strong binding ability with core targets TP53, AKT1, STAT3, TNF, MAPK3. BXD can treat MCI and DM by multi-targets and multi-channels,and plays a role of "homotherapy for heteropathy" mainly through response to drug, positive regulation of gene expression, extracellular space and enzyme binding and other ways.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Hip joint-preserving treatment options for osteonecrosis of the femoral head (ONFH) have been a research hotspot in recent years. The combination of Chinese and Western medicine has been used in clinical practice to treat early- and mid-stage ONFH. However, there is still a lack of high-quality evidence to verify the effectiveness and safety of this approach. OBJECTIVE: To systematically evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the combination of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) with Western medicine in the treatment of early- and mid-stage ONFH. METHODS: Multiple electronic databases were searched to identify the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) examining the use of TCM in the treatment of ONFH. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, eligible studies were selected, and the quality of the studies was evaluated using the risk of bias assessment tool recommended by the Cochrane system Evaluator manual 5.1.0. The meta-analysis of the included data was performed using Review Manager 5.4.1 software and Stata 17.0 software. RESULTS: A total of 47 RCTs involving 3266 subjects were included in the meta-analysis. The results are observed: (1) Harris score: TCM + Western medicine versus Western medicine (SMD = 1.25, 95% Cl: 1.02 to 1.48, P < 0.00001), TCM + physiotherapy versus physiotherapy (SMD = 2.26, 95% Cl: 1.42 to 3.10, P < 0.00001), and TCM + hip preservation surgery versus hip preservation surgery (SMD = 1.28, 95% Cl: 1.03 to 1.53, P < 0.00001); (2) Visual analogue scale score: TCM + Western medicine versus Western medicine (SMD = -3.99, 95% Cl: -7.41 to -0.57, P = 0.02), TCM + physiotherapy versus physiotherapy (SMD = -0.99, 95% Cl: -1.44 to -0.54, P < 0.0001), and TCM + hip preservation surgery versus hip preservation surgery (SMD = -1.08, 95% Cl: -1.75 to -0.40, P = 0.002); (3) Imaging improvement: TCM + physiotherapy versus physiotherapy (RR = 1.42, 95% Cl: 1.15 to 1.76, P = 0.001) and TCM + hip preservation surgery versus hip preservation surgery (RR = 1.21, 95% Cl: 1.11 to 1.31, P < 0.0001); and (4) Occurrence of adverse reaction: TCM + Western medicine versus Western medicine (RR = 0.73, 95% Cl: 0.28 to 1.92, P = 0.53), TCM + physiotherapy versus physiotherapy (RR = 0.46, 95% Cl: 0.03 to 7.33, P = 0.58), and TCM + hip preservation surgery versus hip preservation surgery (RR = 1.11, 95% Cl: 0.36 to 3.45, P = 0.86). CONCLUSION: TCM combined with Western medicine is an effective and safe approach for the treatment of ONFH. However, due to the low quality and quantity of the included studies, additional large-scale, high-quality studies are required to verify the above conclusions. RESUMEN

In this work, a biological metal-organic framework@conductive covalent organic framework composite (bio-MOF@con-COF, denoted as Zn-Glu@PTBD-COF, here, Glu indicates L-glutamic acid, PT indicates 1,10-phenanthroline-2,9-dicarbaldehyde, and BD indicates benzene-1,4-diamine) was prepared and used as sensing material to fabricate aptasensor for trace detection of Staphylococcus aureus (SA). The Zn-Glu@PTBD-COF integrates the mesoporous structure and abundant defects of the MOF framework, the excellent conductivity of the COF framework, and high stability of the composite, providing abundant active sites to effectively anchor aptamers. As a result, the Zn-Glu@PTBD-COF-based aptasensor shows high sensitivity to detect SA via specific recognition between aptamer and SA, as well as the formation of aptamer-SA complex. Low detection limits of 2.0 and 1.0 CFU·mL-1 are deduced from the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and differential pulse voltammetry within a wide linear range of 10-108 CFU·mL-1 for SA, respectively. The Zn-Glu@PTBD-COF-based aptasensor also shows good selectivity, reproducibility, stability, regenerability, and applicability for real milk and honey samples. Therefore, the Zn-Glu@PTBD-COF-based aptasensor will be promising for fast screening of foodborne bacteria in food service industry. Oral anticoagulants (OACs) are effective in reducing this risk. To investigate the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) toward OACs among patients with AF. Methods: This web-based cross-sectional study was conducted at local Hospital between April 2023 and May 2023, and enrolled AF patients. Results: A total of 491 valid questionnaires were collected, with 293 (59.67%) male and 73.93% resided in urban areas. The KAP scores were 4.64 ± 3.28, 21.09 ± 2.33 and 26.18 ± 2.15, respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that junior high school [odd ratio (OR) = 0.346, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.145-0.825, P = 0.017], junior college/bachelor and above (OR = 6.545, 95% CI = 2.863-14.963, P < 0.001), monthly income ≥5,000 (OR = 2.343, 95% CI = 1.074-5.111, P = 0.032), never taken OACs (OR = 0.015, 95% CI = 0.004-0.059, P < 0.001), and having been diagnosed AF (6-10 months, OR = 4.003, 95% CI = 1.653-9.692, P = 0.002;over 20 months, OR = 4.046, 95% CI = 1.753-9.340, P = 0.001) were independently associated with knowledge. Knowledge (OR = 1.376, 95% CI = 1.162-1.629, P < 0.001), junior high school (OR = 0.258, 95% CI = 0.084-0.792, P = 0.018), monthly income ≥5,000 (OR = 5.486, 95% CI = 1.834-16.412, P = 0.002), and never undergone AF ablation (OR = 0.214, 95% CI = 0.097-0.471, P < 0.001) were independently associated with attitude. Knowledge (OR = 1.128, 95% CI = 1.030-1.235, P = 0.009), 70-79 years (OR = 2.193, 95% CI = 1.166-4.124, P = 0.015) and ≥80 years (OR = 4.375, 95% CI = 2.034-9.411, P < 0.001) were independently associated with proactive practice. Conclusion: Patients with AF had inadequate knowledge, suboptimal attitude and inactive practice towards AF and OACs. Improving patient education, especially among those with lower education levels, enhances understanding and management of AF and OACs.

RESUMEN

Although the rapid advances of wireless technologies and electronic devices largely improve the quality of life, electromagnetic (EM) pollution increases the risk of exposure to EM radiation. Developing high-efficiency absorbers with a rational structure and wideband characteristics is of great significance to eliminate radiation pollution. Herein, Enteromorpha prolifera derived biochar which would provide a suitable surface and multiple polarizations has been prepared as the supporter to anchor nanoparticles. In addition, theoretical simulation results further confirm that radar wave scattering could be largely inhibited after coating with absorbing materials. As a result, the hybrid absorbers achieve remarkable EM absorption properties attributed to the synergistic magnetic-dielectric loss. Elaborate compositional and structural characterization studies indicate that the absorber has a large specific area and numerous polarization centers, which would make full use of waste biomass as light weight and broadband high-performance EM absorption materials.

RESUMEN

Biomass-derived carbon materials have received a surge of scientific attention to develop lightweight and broadband microwave absorbers. Herein, rodlike porous carbon materials derived from cotton have been fabricated with uniformly dispersed CoFe2O4nanoparticles via facile and scalable process. The combination of magnetic particles and carbonaceous material is advantageous to realize the magnetic-dielectric synergistic effect which could effectively promote the dissipation of incident waves, giving rise to an optimal reflection loss value of -48.2 dB over a qualified bandwidth (4.8 GHz) at 2.5 mm. The cotton-derived carbon rods with conductive network not only act as a supporter to carry the CoFe2O4nanoparticles, but also provide massive heterointerfaces to facilitate the interfacial polarization. In consideration of the renewable and abundant resource of cotton, the as-prepared CoFe2O4/C composites would meet the increasing demand of lightweight and highly efficient microwave absorbers.

RESUMEN

Partially- and fully-unzipped nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (NCNTs) were prepared by unzipping pristine NCNTs and three carbon nanostructures were applied to support Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) to form nanocomposites (Au/NCNTs, Au/PU-NCNTs, and Au/FU-NCNTs). The electrochemical behavior and the electrocatalytic activities of the nanocomposite-modified electrodes were examined. The oxygen functional groups, doped N content, and AuNP loaded concentrations are dependent on the unzipping-degree and then affect the electrochemical response and electrocatalytic performance of the electrodes. Besides, the three nanocomposites were also used for the immobilization of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) aptamer strands and applied for the detection of CEA. The Au/FU-NCNTs possess the optimal electrocatalytic activity and biosensing performance for the biomolecules and CEA, which is attributed to the maximum loaded AuNPs, the largest specific surface areas and the most active sites. The Au/FU-NCNT-based electrochemical aptasensor exhibits high sensitivity with a low detection limit of 6.84 pg mL-1 within a broad linear range of CEA concentration from 0.01 to 10 ng mL-1. All of these results indicate that the Au/FU-NCNTs may be a potential support for construction of aptasensors with high electrochemical effect and can be employed in the fields of biosensing or biomedical diagnosis.
