RESUMEN

Background: Soft tissue sarcoma (STS) are heterogeneous and rare tumors, and few studies have explored predicting the prognosis of patients with STS. The Lung Immune Prognostic Index (LIPI), calculated based on baseline serum lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and the derived neutrophils/(leukocytes minus neutrophils) ratio (dNLR), was considered effective in predicting the prognosis of patients with pulmonary cancer and other malignancies. However, the efficacy of the LIPI in predicting the prognosis of patients with STS remains unclear. Methods: This study retrospectively reviewed patients with STS admitted to our center from January 2016 to January 2021. Their hematological and clinical characteristics were collected and analyzed to construct the LIPI specific to STS. The correlations between various predictive factors and overall survival (OS) were examined using Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses. Independent risk factors for OS were identified using univariate and multivariate analyses. Finally, a LIPI nomogram model for STS was established. Results: This study enrolled 302 patients with STS, of which 87 (28.9%), 162 (53.6%), and 53 (17.5%) were classified into three LIPI-based categories: good, moderate, and poor, respectively (P < 0.0001). The time-dependent operator curve showed that the LIPI had better prognostic predictive ability than other hematological and clinical characteristics. Univariate and multivariate analyses identified the Fédération Nationale des Centres de Lutte Contre le Cancer grade (FNCLCC/G), tumor size, and LIPI as independent risk factors. Finally, a nomogram was constructed by integrating the significant prognostic factors. Its C-index was 0.72, and the calibration curve indicated that it could accurately predict the three- and five-year OS of patients with STS. The decision and clinical impact curves also indicated that implementing this LIPI-nomogram could significantly benefit patients with STS. Conclusion: This study explored the efficacy of the LIPI in predicting the prognosis of 302 patients with STS, classifying them into three categories to evaluate the prognosis. It also reconstructed a LIPI-based nomogram to assist clinicians in predicting the three- and five-year OS of patients with STS, potentially enabling timely intervention and customized management.

This single-arm phase II non-randomised trial (ACTRN12619001265167) evaluated trastuzumab emtansine in solid cancers with HER2 amplification or mutation detected by comprehensive genomic profiling. The primary objective was objective response (OR), while secondary objectives included the time to progression (TTP) on study to TTP on prior therapy ratio, progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). The cohort included 16 tumours with HER2 mutations (group 1) and 16 with HER2 amplification (group 2). After 17 months median follow-up, ORs occurred in 19% of group 1 (1 salivary gland carcinoma (SGC), 2 lung cancers) and 25% of group 2 (3 SGCs, 1 uterine carcinoma). Fourteen of 29 TTP-evaluable patients achieved a TTP ratio ≥1.3, including 10 without an OR. Median PFS and OS were 4.5 (95% CI 2.1-7.0) and 18.2 months (95% CI 8.1-not reached) respectively. Trastuzumab emtansine showed modest ORs and a favourable change in disease trajectory in select HER2-altered solid cancers.

Background: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most common non-traumatic disabling disease affecting young adults. A definitive curative treatment is currently unavailable. Many randomized controlled trials (RCTs) have reported the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicine (CHM) on MS. Because of the uncertain quality of these RCTs, the recommendations for routine use of CHM for MS remain inconclusive. The comprehensive evaluation of the quality of RCTs of CHM for MS is urgent. Methods: Nine databases, namely, PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, EBSCO, Sinomed, Wanfang Database, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and VIP Database, were searched from inception to September 2023. RCTs comparing CHM with placebo or pharmacological interventions for MS were considered eligible. The Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) and its extension for CHM formulas (CONSORT-CHM Formulas) checklists were used to evaluate the reporting quality of RCTs. The risk of bias was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. The selection criteria of high-frequency herbs for MS were those with cumulative frequency over 50% among the top-ranked herbs. Results: A total of 25 RCTs were included. In the included RCTs, 33% of the CONSORT items and 21% of the CONSORT-CHM Formulas items were reported. Eligibility title, sample size calculation, allocation concealment, randomized implementation, and blinded description in CONSORT core items were reported by less than 5% of trials. For the CONSORT-CHM Formulas, the source and authentication method of each CHM ingredient was particularly poorly reported. Most studies classified the risk of bias as "unclear" due to insufficient information. The top five most frequently used herbs were, in order, Radix Rehmanniae Preparata, Radix Rehmanniae Recens, Herba Epimedii, Scorpio, and Poria. No serious adverse effect had been reported. Conclusions: The low reporting of CONSORT items and the unclear risk of bias indicate the inadequate quality of RCTs in terms of reporting completeness and result validity. The CONSORT-CHM Formulas appropriately consider the unique characteristics of CHM, including principles, formulas, and Chinese medicinal substances. To improve the quality of RCTs on CHM for MS, researchers should adhere more closely to CONSORT-CHM Formulas guidelines and ensure comprehensive disclosure of all study design elements.

OBJECTIVE: Periacetabular tumors, especially in young to middle-aged patients with invasive benign tumors or low-grade malignant tumors involving type II or II + III, present significant challenges due to their rarity and the complexity of the anatomical and biomechanical structures involved. The primary difficulty lies in balancing the need to avoid unfavorable oncological outcomes while maintaining postoperative hip joint function during surgical resection. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and reliability of a surgical method involving partial weight-bearing acetabular preservation combined with the use of an uncontaminated femoral head autograft to reconstruct the segmental bone defect after intra-articular resection of the tumorous joint, providing a solution that ensures both oncological safety and functional preservation of the hip joint in these patients. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study with a follow-up period of at least 36 months. From January 2010 to October 2020, we reviewed 20 cases of patients under 60 year of age with periacetabular invasive benign tumors or primary low-grade malignant tumors. All patients underwent reconstruction of the tumorous joint using autologous femoral head grafts. Data collected included patient age, gender, tumor type, preoperative and postoperative visual analog scale (VAS) scores, Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) scores, Harris Hip Scores (HHS), patient survival rates, postoperative tumor recurrence, and surgical complications. To analyze the data, we utilized various statistical methods, including descriptive statistics to summarize patient demographics and clinical characteristics, and paired sample t-tests to compare preoperative and postoperative scores. RESULTS: The study included 20 patients, and a total median follow-up was 83 months. Their pathologic diagnoses comprised 13 giant cell tumors (GCTs), 5 chondrosarcomas, one chondroblastoma, and 1 leiomyosarcoma. Postoperatively, the median differences in vertical and horizontal center of rotation (COR) were 3.8 and 4.0 mm. Median limb length discrepancy (LLD) postoperatively was 5.7 mm (range, 2.3-17.8 mm). Two patients (10%) experienced delayed wound healing, resolved with antibiotics and early surgical debridement. One patient experienced dislocation 3 months postoperatively, which was promptly addressed under general anesthesia without further dislocation. CONCLUSION: Through multiplanar osteotomy with limited margins, femoral head autograft, and uncemented total hip replacement for pelvic segmental bone defects in selected patients in type II or II + III appears to be an encouraging limb-sparing surgery worthy of consideration for carefully selected patients.

Background: Involvement of the distal fibula by alveolar soft-part sarcoma is rare. Extensive resection or amputation may be needed; however, distal fibula resection can disrupt foot and ankle biomechanics, leading to ankle joint instability. Reports on joint preservation for maintaining optimal ankle joint function are scarce. Computer-aided design and individualized three-dimensional (3D)-printed uncemented implants represent an evolving solution for reconstructing the distal fibula. Case presentation: A 34-year-old woman was diagnosed with alveolar soft-part sarcoma in the right lower leg involving the cortical bone of the fibula. After anlotinib treatment, the tumor size decreased, and the tumor response rate was a partial response (PR); however, the patient continued to experience adverse reactions. With multiple disciplinary team discussions, surgical resection was deemed appropriate. Due to the extensive defect and ankle joint instability after resection, a custom-made 3D-printed prosthesis was designed and fabricated to reconstruct the defect, preserving the lateral malleolus. During the follow-up, the patient achieved favorable ankle function, and no prosthesis-related complications were observed. Conclusion: 3D-printed personalized uncemented implants constitute a novel approach and method for addressing the reconstruction issues of the distal fibula and ankle joint. Through the personalized design of 3D-printed prostheses, the lateral malleolus can be preserved, ensuring the normal anatomical structure of the ankle joint. They achieve a well-integrated interface between the prosthesis and bone, ensuring satisfactory postoperative function. Additionally, they offer valuable insights for reconstructing distal bone defects near joints in the extremities. However, confirming these findings requires extensive cohort studies.

Extremity soft tissue sarcoma (ESTS) is a rare malignant nonepithelial disease, calling for combined modality treatments with surgery to further improve local control rates and long-term survival, especially in patients with multiple local recurrences with or without risk of amputation. In this double-arm, open-label, Phase II clinical trial, we will enroll 30 patients with pathologically confirmed ESTS without nodal involvement or distant metastases. Patients are randomly assigned to the combination treatment group or the radiation monotherapy group. Additionally, tumor and biological samples will be obtained directly before and after neoadjuvant therapy, allowing for studies of immune response and primary drug resistance mechanisms.Clinical Trial Registration: ChiCTR2200060659 (http://www.chictr.org.cn) (ClinicalTrials.gov).

The rapid advancement in attractive platforms such as biomedicine and human-machine interaction has generated urgent demands for intelligent materials with high strength, flexibility, and self-healing capabilities. However, existing self-healing ability materials are challenged by a trade-off between high strength, low elastic modulus, and healing ability due to the inherent low strength of noncovalent bonding. Here, drawing inspiration from human fibroblasts, a monomer trapping synthesis strategy is presented based on the dissociation and reconfiguration in amphiphilic ionic restrictors (7000-times volume monomer trapping) to develop a eutectogel. Benefiting from the nanoconfinement and dynamic interfacial interactions, the molecular chain backbone of the formed confined domains is mechanically reinforced while preserving soft movement capabilities. The resulting eutectogels demonstrate superior mechanical properties (1799% and 2753% higher tensile strength and toughness than pure polymerized deep eutectic solvent), excellent self-healing efficiency (>90%), low tangential modulus (0.367 MPa during the working stage), and the ability to sensitively monitor human activities. This strategy is poised to offer a new perspective for developing high strength, low modulus, and self-healing wearable electronics tailored to human body motion.

A new probe, 4-(((3',6'-bis(diethylamino)-3-oxospiro[isoindoline-1,9'-xanthen]-2-yl)imino)methyl)phenyl)boronic acid (R4B) was prepared by facile condensation of 4-formylphenylboronic acid and rhodamine B hydrazide. R4B was characterized by spectroscopic methods and single crystal X-ray diffraction. The sensor R4B solution turned pink and emitted orange fluorescence only in the presence of sialic acid but remained colorless and non-fluorescent otherwise. The sugar recognition performance was investigated via UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopic studies. Our results revealed that R4B has good affinity and selectivity for sialic acid over common monosaccharides, with a detection limit as low as 10-7 M. Furthermore, R4B selectively inhibited growth of human colorectal adenocarcinoma HT-29 (IC50 <20 µM) without significant cytotoxicity to normal human colon fibroblasts CCD-18Co. Treatment with R4B suppressed HT-29 colony formation via mitochondrial apoptosis in a time-dependent manner. Cellular imaging studies also revealed the ability of R4B as a fluorescence dye to detect intracellular sialic acid and showed mitochondria-tracking ability in HT-29 cells. In summary, R4B is a potential theranostic for the detection of intracellular sialic acid during the early incubation period, followed by induction of cancer apoptotic cell death at a later treatment point.

BACKGROUND: Anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) rearrangements are rare in non-myofibroblastic sarcoma and there is limited data on the efficacy of ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and mechanisms of resistance in these patients. CASE: A 58 year-old man with metastatic non-myofibroblastic sarcoma was found to have an EML4-ALK fusion on molecular sequencing. After progression on first line systemic therapy with doxorubicin, the patient received alectinib, a second generation ALK inhibitor, and had a marked clinical and radiological response. He progressed after 5 months of treatment. Repeat lung biopsy identified the emergence of an ALK I1171N resistance mutation. He was then treated with lorlatinib, again with rapid clinical improvement and significant partial radiological response. He progressed after 4 months, at which time a repeat lung biopsy identified a new ALK kinase domain mutation G1202R. The patient was subsequently treated with chemotherapy, though unfortunately died shortly after due to rapidly progressive disease. CONCLUSION: This case report adds to a body of evidence demonstrating the potential transformative response to targeted therapy in non-lung solid organ tumours harbouring ALK fusions. This is the first description tracking the development of resistance mutations in a patient with non-myofibroblastic sarcoma and questions the utility of the presence of G1202R mutation as a marker of lorlatinib sensitivity in non-lung ALK rearranged tumours, contrary to experience in lung cancer.

It takes more than 20 years for normal colorectal mucosa to develop into metastatic carcinoma. The long time window provides a golden opportunity for early detection to terminate the malignant progression. Here, we aim to enable liquid biopsy of T1a stage colorectal cancer (CRC) and precancerous advanced adenoma (AA) by profiling circulating small extracellular vesicle (sEV)-derived RNAs. We exhibited a full RNA landscape for the circulating sEVs isolated from 60 participants. A total of 58,333 annotated RNAs were detected from plasma sEVs, among which 1,615 and 888 sEV-RNAs were found differentially expressed in plasma from T1a stage CRC and AA compared to normal controls (NC). Then we further categorized these sEV-RNAs into six modules by a weighted gene coexpression network analysis and constructed a 60-gene t-SNE model consisting of the top 10 RNAs of each module that could well distinguish T1a stage CRC/AA from NC samples. Some sEV-RNAs were also identified as indicators of specific endoscopic and morphological features of different colorectal lesions. The top-ranked biomarkers were further verified by RT-qPCR, proving that these candidate sEV-RNAs successfully identified T1a stage CRC/AA from NC in another cohort of 124 participants. Finally, we adopted different algorithms to improve the performance of RT-qPCR-based models and successfully constructed an optimized classifier with 79.3% specificity and 99.0% sensitivity. In conclusion, circulating sEVs of T1a stage CRC and AA patients have distinct RNA profiles, which successfully enable the detection of both T1a stage CRC and AA via liquid biopsy.

Skeletal Class III malocclusion can significantly impact psychological well-being. Although bimaxillary surgery is a well-established corrective intervention, its psychological effects are not fully understood. This study aims to investigate changes in self-esteem, sensitivity to criticism, and social appearance anxiety following surgery to inform targeted nursing interventions for psychological adaptation. This comparative study included 205 participants: 150 patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion who underwent bimaxillary surgery, and a control group of 55 individuals without malocclusion. The malocclusion group had a mean age of 21.99 ±â€…2.28 years (96 males, 109 females). The control group consisted of department interns with Class I occlusion, normal overjet and overbite, and typical facial appearance, with a mean age of 21.61 ±â€…2.40 years (26 males, 29 females). Psychological assessments, validated for reliability, measured self-esteem, sensitivity to criticism, and social appearance anxiety before and after surgery. Statistical analyses, including independent sample t tests and one-way ANOVA, were performed to compare outcomes between the groups, with a significance level set at P < .05. Preoperative assessments revealed that patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion had significantly lower self-esteem and higher sensitivity to criticism and social appearance anxiety compared to the control group (P < .05). Postoperatively, there were modest improvements in self-esteem and significant reductions in sensitivity to criticism and social appearance anxiety, though levels of social appearance anxiety remained higher than those in the control group (P < .05). No significant differences in self-esteem and sensitivity to criticism were observed between the surgical and control groups postoperatively (P > .05). Within-group comparisons showed significant improvements in all measures after surgery (P < .05). Bimaxillary surgery positively affects the psychological well-being of patients with skeletal Class III malocclusion, enhancing self-esteem and reducing sensitivity to criticism and social appearance anxiety. However, some psychological concerns persist, indicating a need for targeted nursing interventions to further support these patients' psychological well-being.

Aims: Endoprosthetic reconstruction following distal femur tumour resection has been widely advocated. In this paper, we present the design of an uncemented endoprosthesis system featuring a short, curved stem, with the goal of enhancing long-term survivorship and functional outcomes. Methods: This study involved patients who underwent implantation of an uncemented distal femoral endoprosthesis with a short and curved stem between 2014 and 2019. Functional outcomes were assessed using the 1993 version of the Musculoskeletal Tumour Society (MSTS-93) score. Additionally, we quantified five types of complications and assessed osseointegration radiologically. The survivorship of the endoprosthesis was evaluated according to two endpoints. A total of 134 patients with a median age of 26 years (IQR 16 to 41) were included in our study. The median follow-up time was 61 months (IQR 56 to 76), and the median functional MSTS-93 was 83% (IQR 73 to 91) postoperatively. Results: Overall, 21 patients (16%) encountered complications, and the rate of aseptic loosening was 7% (9/134). The survival rate up to 8.5 years was 93% for aseptic loosening as the endpoint, and 88% for any reason as the endpoint, retrospectively. Conclusion: The use of an uncemented distal femoral endoprosthesis with a short, curved stem demonstrated a low incidence of aseptic loosening and achieved long-term survivorship of up to nine years. Meanwhile, aseptic loosening typically occurs in the early stage postoperatively.

Acute cutaneous lupus erythematosus (ACLE) is closely associated with systemic symptoms in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This study aimed to identify potential biomarkers for ACLE and explore their association with SLE to enable early prediction of ACLE and identify potential treatment targets for the future. In total, 185 SLE-diagnosed patients were enrolled and categorized into two groups: those with ACLE and those without cutaneous involvement. After conducting logistic regression analysis of the differentiating factors, we concluded that tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) is an independent risk factor for ACLE. Analysis of the receiver operating characteristic revealed an area under the curve of 0.716 for TNF-α. Additionally, both TNF-α and ACLE are positively correlated with disease activity. TNF-α shows promise as a biomarker for ACLE, and in SLE patients, ACLE may serve as a clear indicator of moderate-to-severe disease activity.

Methane emissions from ruminants significantly contribute to greenhouse gases. This study explores the methane mitigation effect and mechanism of S. mcclurei through in vitro rumen fermentation, aiming to establish its potential as a feed additive. We investigated the effects of freeze-dried and dried S. mcclurei at supplementation levels of 2%, 5%, and 10% of dry matter on nutrient degradation, ruminal fermentation, methane inhibition, and microbial community structure in in vitro rumen fermentation. The freeze-dried S. mcclurei at 2% supplementation significantly reduced CH4 emissions by 18.85% and enhanced crude protein degradability. However, total VFA and acetate concentrations were lower in both treatments compared to the control. The microbial shifts included a decrease in Lachnospiraceae_NK3A20_group and Ruminococcus and an increase in Selenomonas, Succinivibrio, and Saccharofermentans, promoting propionate production. Additionally, a significant reduction in Methanomicrobium was observed, indicating direct methane mitigation. Freeze-dried S. mcclurei at a 2% supplementation level shows potential as an effective methane mitigation strategy with minimal impact on rumen fermentation, supported by detailed insights into microbial community changes.

Poisson's ratio in auxetic materials shifts from typically positive to negative, causing lateral expansion during axial tension. This scale-independent characteristic, originating from tailored architectures, exhibits specific physical properties, including energy adsorption, shear resistance, and fracture resistance. These metamaterials demonstrate exotic mechanical properties with potential applications in several engineering fields, but biomedical applications seem to be one of the most relevant, with an increasing number of articles published in recent years, which present opportunities ranging from cellular repair to organ reconstruction with outstanding mechanical performance, mechanical conduction, and biological activity compared with traditional biomedical metamaterials. Therefore, focusing on understanding the potential of these structures and promoting theoretical and experimental investigations into the benefits of their unique mechanical properties is necessary for achieving high-performance biomedical applications. Considering the demand for advanced biomaterial implants in surgical technology and the profound advancement of additive manufacturing technology that are particularly relevant to fabricating complex and customizable auxetic mechanical metamaterials, this review focuses on the fundamental geometric configuration and unique physical properties of negative Poisson's ratio materials, then categorizes and summarizes auxetic material applications across some surgical departments, revealing efficacy in joint surgery, spinal surgery, trauma surgery, and sports medicine contexts. Additionally, it emphasizes the substantial potential of auxetic materials as innovative biomedical solutions in orthopedics and demonstrates the significant potential for comprehensive surgical application in the future.

The aim of this study was to assess the impact of varying proportions (5-20%) of hydroponic wheat sprouts in the diet of growing four-month-old Hu ewes on their productive performance, metabolic profiles, rumen fermentation, and alterations in microflora. Compared with the control group (CON), the optimum final weight of ewes has been presented in the group of substitution 15% (S15) of the basal diet with hydroponic wheat sprouts. Furthermore, 1-30 d the average daily gain (ADG), 31-60 d ADG, and average feed intake were both significantly improved in S15 compared with CON (p < 0.05). Feeding hydroponic wheat sprouts can significantly increase high-density lipoprotein and interleukin-2 (p < 0.05) accompanied by the numerical increase of the content of interferon-γ, suggesting its positive effect on ewes' health and immune systems. In this process, it is noteworthy that feeding hydroponic wheat sprouts results in an increase in relative abundance of Olsenella, Limosilactobacillus, Shuttleworthia, and Prevotella_7, and a decrease in relative abundance of Succinimonas, Pseudobutyrivibrio, and Anaerovibrio in the rumen of growing ewes. It implies that the response of rumen microflora adapted to the change of dietary ingredients, as well as the relationship between rumen microflora changes and the improvement of productive performance and immune system in growing ewes. Considering the usage cost and application effect, S15 of the basal diet with hydroponic wheat sprouts could be the appropriate application solution for growing ewes.

BACKGROUND: Primary nasal tuberculosis (TB) is a rare form of extrapulmonary TB, particularly in patients receiving anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) immunotherapy. As a result, its diagnosis remains challenging. CASE SUMMARY: A 58-year-old male patient presented to the ear, nose, and throat department with right-sided nasal obstruction and bloody discharge for 1 month. He was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and received anti-TNF immunotherapy for 3 years prior to presentation. Biopsy findings revealed chronic granulomatous inflammation and a few acid-fast bacilli, suggestive of primary nasal TB. He was referred to our TB management department for treatment with oral anti-TB agents. After 9 months, the nasal lesions had disappeared. No recurrence was noted during follow-up. CONCLUSION: The diagnosis of primary nasal TB should be considered in patients receiving TNF antagonists who exhibit thickening and crusting of the nasal septum mucosa or inferior turbinate, particularly when pathological findings suggest granulomatous inflammation.

The distal femur is one of the most common sites for primary bone tumors. As the tumor progresses and bone destruction worsens, it can severely affect knee function and even pose a threat to life. In cases where only one condyle is affected and requires resection, preserving the healthy contralateral condyle can substantially enhance the biomechanics of the knee. Furthermore, preserving bone stock may enable future salvage procedures in the event of initial surgery failure, be it from fractures or osteoarthritis. Distal femoral unicondyle resection can offer better functional outcomes in select cases. However, it is essential to prioritize oncological safety with adequate margins over short-term knee function. Currently, the primary methods for reconstruction after the excision of a unicondylar tumor include allograft transplantation (bi- or uni-condylar) and prosthetic or allograft-prosthesis composite replacement (APC). However, there is currently some controversy regarding the optimal surgical reconstruction method, and a consensus within the academic community has yet to be reached. Moreover, due to the rarity of bone tumors, extensive clinical data from a single center is limited. Current studies are mainly retrospective and single-center, lacking sufficient cases and follow-up duration. This article reviews surgical reconstruction after solitary condylar excision in distal femoral tumors. It summarizes, compares, and analyzes mainstream reconstruction methods, exploring their technical details and clinical outcomes to highlight their potential in bone oncology.

Bone tissue engineering has emerged as a pivotal field addressing the critical clinical needs of bone fractures. This study focused on developing multi-composite hydrogels by synergizing biocompatible GelMA macromolecules with synthetic PEGDA and reinforcing them with nanosilicates (SN). The incorporation of SN introduces crucial trace elements such as silicon, magnesium, and lithium, promoting both angiogenesis and osteogenesis. Characterizations revealed that PEGDA significantly reinforced the composite hydrogels' stability, while SN further enhanced the mechanical integrity of the GelMA-PEGDA-SN (GPS) hydrogels. Cell studies designated that GPS improved cell proliferation and migration, angiogenic VEGF/eNOS expression and osteogenic differentiation. In vivo experiments showed that GPS hydrogels effectively enhanced calvarial bone healing, with the GPS-2 formulation (2 % SN) displaying superior bone coverage and increased vascular formation. Assessments of osteogenic formation and the angiogenic marker CD31 validated the comprehensive bone regeneration potential of GPS hydrogels. These findings highlight the significant promise of GPS hydrogels in fostering bone healing with promoted angiogenesis.
