RESUMEN

We studied the effects of low-intensity broadband red light on electrical activity of the heart and oxidative modification of proteins in the myocardium of rats after asphyxia. It was shown that low-intensity red light reduced the content of oxidatively modified proteins in rat heart after oxidative stress caused by asphyxia. Exposure to low-intensity red light normalized ECG parameters in rats after asphyxia.

RESUMEN

Effects of successive exposure to ionizing irradiation and low-intensity broadband red light on electrical activity of the heart and myocardium microstructure were studied in rats. Lowintensity red light corrected some ECG parameters, in particular, it normalized QT and QTc intervals and voltage of R and T waves. Changes in ECG parameters were followed by alterations in microstructure of muscle fi laments in the myocardium of treatment group animals comparing to control group.

RESUMEN

Specific features of free radical oxidation were studied after experimental exposure to ionizing radiation. A decrease in the level of products of oxidative modification of proteins and LPO was observed after exposure of irradiated zone to low-intensity incoherent red light. It was suggested that low-intensity radiation of this spectrum produces a radioprotective effect and can be used for the correction of ionizing radiation-induced disturbances.

RESUMEN

The effect of helium-neon laser irradiation and wideband red light on electrical activity of open rat heart was examined after experimentally produced ischemia. The red light applied with the help of optical fibers modified parameters of cardiac electrical activity and intensity of lipid peroxidation in the myocardium. The effects of laser and red light irradiation differed significantly.

RESUMEN

Effects of low-intensity red light on lipid peroxidation in isolated rat heart in the postischemic period were studied. It was established that both laser and wideband luminescent irradiation applied during reperfusion reduced the content of lipid peroxidation products in tissues to a near-control level. This effect is possibly associated with reactivation of antioxidant enzymes.

RESUMEN

It was found that luminescent monochromatized incoherent radiation causes inhibition of the ultraviolet light-induced hemolysis of erythrocytes comparable to that induced by laser light. The obtained data show reduction of the molecular product rate of free radical fat acyclic oxidation in the membranes of intact erythrocytes after irradiation by low intensity red light.

RESUMEN

The author shows that new prospects in the design of phototherapeutic light sources are opened up by the active fibers containing luminescent contaminations. The sources of luminescence monochromatized incoherent radiation, lumbar, can provide a possibility of selecting a light band, a continuous or impulse radiation and other advantages.

RESUMEN

The use of optical fibers with luminescent spectrum-displacing admixtures inserted into their core enables the prototherapeutic devices to be designed. The paper provides the principle for designing optofiber luminescent light sources. Experiments with laboratory animals and donor blood have indicated that incoherent homogeneous light may produce effects in regenerating damaged tissue surfaces.

RESUMEN

The authors review tendencies in the application of fiber-optic laser coherent irradiation and monochromatized incoherent sources as phototherapy devices. Analyze the most important factors of the visible light impact on the biological tissues. Show that incoherent monochromatized light with a spectrum specially matched with the absorption spectrum of the biological molecules can produce a physiological effect comparable to that of laser radiation.
