Afecciones Morfofisiológicas más frecuentes asociadas al uso prematuro del bastón en pacientes hemipléjicos / Most frequent morphophysiologic affections associated to the premature use of the cane in hemiplegic patients

Se realizó un estudio analítico-transversal en el Policlínico René Vallejo Ortíz de Bayamo con el objetivo de analizar las afecciones morfo- fisiológicas más frecuentes asociadas al uso prematuro del bastón en pacientes hemipléjicos. En los resultados obtenidos se pudo observar que en la etapa de rehabilitación de la marcha que más incidencia hubo, fue en la coordinación simple (2da etapa) con un 55 por ciento (6 pacientes) de una muestra de 11, con predominio en el sexo masculino con 4 pacientes - 36.6 por ciento, en cuanto a la postura la línea de gravedad más afectada fue desde la vista anterior con 7 para un 64 por ciento, apreciándose una desviación de esta hacia el lado sano cayendo entre este y el bastón disminuyendo la funcionabilidad del lado afectado, 5 de estos pacientes son totalmente dependientes del bastón para la marcha (45.4 por ciento), en cuanto a la biomecánica de la marcha se puede observar que todos los patrones se afectan en estrecha relación con la postura del paciente. El uso prematuro del bastón provoca alteraciones de la simetría, dependencia del bastón para la marcha así como alteraciones de la biomecánica para la misma, lo que entorpece el proceso de rehabilitación de dichos pacientes(AU)

It was performed a transversal- analytical study at René Vallejo Ortiz Polyclinic in Bayamo with the purpose to analyze the most frequent morphophysiologic affections associated to the premature use of the cane in hemiplegic patients. In the results obtained it was observed that in the rehabilitation stage there was more incidence in the simple coordination (2nd stage) with a 55 percent (6 patients) in a sample of 11, prevailing the male sex with 4 patients - 36.6 percent, regarding the position the most affected line of gravity was from the previous sight with 7 for 64 percent, appreciating a deviation to the healthy side, between this one and the cane, diminishing the functionality of the side affected, 5 of these patients were totally dependent of the cane to walk (45.4 percent), regarding the biomechanics it could be observed that all of the patterns were affected in relation with the position of the patient. The premature use of the cane causes alterations of the symmetry, dependency of the cane to walk as well as alterations of the biomechanics, what difficult the rehabilitation process of the patient(EU)

Prevención de la ITS/VIH/SIDA con un enfoque social y participativo en estudiantes del curso superación / Prevention of STI/HIV/AIDS with a social and participative focus in students of the update course

Se realizó una estrategia educativa con técnicas participativas (presentación, animación y análisis) en estudiantes entre 20-30 años matriculados en tercer semestre del Curso Superación Integral para Jóvenes, pertenecientes al Policlínico Victoria de Girón, de Palma Soriano, Santiago de Cuba, con el objetivo de MODIFICAR favorablemente los conocimientos sobre la ITS/VIH/SIDA. El universo estuvo constituido por la matrícula general (97) y la muestra (29) seleccionada por el método aleatorio simple al azar; se aplicó un instrumento sobre la enfermedad, resultando las variables: vías de transmisión, grupos de riesgo, prevención y definición; adecuando un programa educativo a las necesidades de aprendizajes identificadas, conformándose dos grupos para realizar las sesiones de trabajo y seis meses después evaluar su repercusión, empleando el mismo instrumento. Los datos fueron procesados con métodos computarizados y presentados en tablas, se utilizó el porcentaje como medida de resumen, el de variación como medida de comparación y las diferencias estadísticas se analizaron mediante la prueba de McNemar. La discusión fue a partir de los hallazgos encontrados y la revisión bibliográfica. Obteniéndose resultados positivos con cambios significativos en el nivel de conocimientos(AU)

It was performed an educative strategy with techniques of participation (presentation, encourage and analysis) in students between 20-30 years registered in third semester of the Integral Update Course for youngsters belonging to Victory of Giron Polyclinic, in Palma Soriano, Santiago de Cuba, with the objective to modify favourably the knowledge about STI/ HIV/AIDS. The universe was made by the general registration (97) and the sample (29) was selected by simple method at random, it was applied an instrument about the disease obtaining the following variables: ways of transmission, risk groups, prevention and definition, creating an educative program according to the identified learning needs, with two groups to develop the work sessions in order to evaluate its repercussion six months later, applying the same instrument. The data was processed with computerized methods and presented in charts, the percentage was used as abstract measure, the variation as a comparison method and the statistical differences were analysed through the Macnemar test. The discussion was given from the findings and bibliographic revision. The results obtained were positive with important changes in the level of knowledge(EU)

Incidencia de Giardia en menores de cinco años pertenecientes a tres policlínicos de Bayamo, Enero-Mayo 2010 / Incidence of Giardia in children under 5 years old belonging to three policlinics of Bayamo: January-May: 2010

Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, retrospectivo, para determinar la relación en la incidencia de infestación por Giardia lamblia en niños menores de 5 años, pertenecientes a los Policlínicos René Vallejo, 13 de Marzo y Mabay, del municipio Bayamo; durante el período de enero a mayo de 2010. El universo y la muestra coincidieron, quedó conformado por los 250 casos de giardiasis registrados. Para la obtención de la información, se procedió a la revisión de las hojas de cargo de las consultas de Drenajes Biliares y el Registro de parasitología de los laboratorios de las áreas en estudio. Se empleó el método estadístico de análisis y síntesis, los resultados se expresaron en números absolutos y por cientos. Para determinar la relación entre variables se utilizó el paquete estadístico EPIDAT, fijando un nivel de significación de 0,05. Se observó mayor incidencia en los meses abril y mayo, el área René Vallejo con 56 por ciento, el sexo masculino 58,8 por ciento y de 0-1 año. La incidencia de Giardia está relacionada con las áreas de peores condiciones higiénicas sanitarias y la edad. Mientras que la época del año y el sexo no tienen relación significativa(AU)

It was performed a descriptive, retrospective research to determine the relation in the incidence of Giardia lamblia infestation in children under 5 years old belonging to three policlinics: Rene Vallejo, 13 de Marzo and Mabay, in Bayamo, during the period January to May 2010. The universe agreed with the sample and there were registered 250 cases of giardiasis. To obtain the information there were checked the progress notes from the biliary drainage consults and the register of parasitology from the laboratories of the studied areas. It was applied the statistical method of analysis and syntheis, the results were evidenced in absolute numbers and percentages. To determine the relation between the variables it was used the statistical package EPIDAT, with a level of 0,05. It was observed a greater incidence in april and may, in the area that belongs to Rene Vallejo, obtaining 56 percent, and males from 0-1 year old had 58,8 percent. The incidence of Giardia is related to the areas of worst sanitary conditions and the age. On the other hand the season of the year and sex did not have an outstanding relation(EU)
