RESUMEN

Purpose: One of the key strategies for effective management of osteoporosis is training health care professionals on early diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis according to a structured course. The aim was to investigate the e-learning courses on osteoporosis around the world in order to develop an online course on osteoporosis management for general practitioners (GPs). Methods: In this review, the Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, Embase, and ERIC databases and the Google search engine were searched until March, 2021.Then, the contents of the eligible courses were extracted by two researchers independently and verified. After that, the content for an online course for GPs was developed and approved by a panel of experts constituted of endocrinologists, orthopedists, and other specialties involved in the management of osteoporosis to develop the final online course for GPs. Results: In this review, 22 e-learning courses provided through 3 studies, and 19 websites were included. The content of the osteoporosis e-learning course was categorized into ten thematic categories including bone health, osteoporosis definitions and pathophysiology, prevention of osteoporosis, diagnosis of osteoporosis, fractures, non-pharmacological treatments, pharmacological treatments, treatment follow-up, postmenopausal considerations and hands-on work. The final modules for the osteoporosis e-learning contained five main categories, including bone measurement and fracture risk assessment, diagnosis of osteoporosis, clinical management, monitoring and follow-up, and sarcopenia. Conclusion: Through a systematic approach, we developed modules for e-learning of osteoporosis management, which can be used to improve knowledge and skills of GPs in their practice in our setting. Introduction: Amblyopia, or lazy eye, is a type of visual impairment in which the eyesight is not complete, even with the use of glasses. For the treatment of this disease, accurate and continuous examinations are needed. Nowadays, patient-centered care, by relying on web-based electronic records for amblyopia, has the potential to reduce treatment costs, increase the quality of care, and improve the safety and effectiveness of treatment. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to design and evaluate an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for patients with amblyopia. Methods: The present study is applied developmental research. Using a Morgan table as a sampling tool, a straightforward random sampling technique selected 150 records from 1,500 records that were free of flaws. The design of the electronic version proceeded in a cascading manner so that after the design of each part, it was presented to the amblyopia experts, and if approved, the next part was designed. To design this EHR, the C# programming language and MySQL database were used. A system evaluation was performed by entering and recording patient information. For this purpose, the standard Questionnaire of User Interaction Satisfaction (QUIS), consisting of 18 questions, was used. Results: According to the amblyopia EHR data elements, the data of physician and patient, examinations, website members, and members' roles were determined. After defining the fields and classes that explain the tables, the EHR was designed. The usability evaluation of the system showed that the mean selection of very good and good options by the users of EHRs was over 90%, indicating the patients' acceptance of web-based EHRs. Conclusion: The design of an EHR for amblyopia is an effective step toward integrating and improving the information management of these patients. It will also enable the storage and retrieval of patients' information to reduce and facilitate the control of amblyopia complications.

Objectives: Registries are powerful tools for the collection and distribution of valid and reliable data. The initial step in health information management is to design a minimum data set that can improve the collection of high-quality data from the registry. The present pilot study aimed to determine the optimal minimum data set for dental implants to effectively utilize at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. Materials and Methods: This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted in 2019 at Tehran University of Medical Sciences. A minimum data set checklist was developed based on our previous systematic review. The content validity of the minimum data set was approved by the recruited experts and the final minimum data set was established using the Delphi technique. Results: The minimum data set for dental implants consists of two separate sections - administrative and clinical data. The administrative portion includes two main segments: patient demographic data and clinic data, consisting of 12 data elements. The clinical part includes five main segments (patient clinical data, implant data, implant complications, implant loss, and implant follow-up), and contains 96 data elements. Conclusion: This study suggests a minimum set of data for dental implants that can aid in efficient management of information, facilitate evidence-based decision-making, and enable high-quality clinical research, evaluation of treatment results, monitoring, and benchmarking of care.

Healthcare workers are at the forefront of fight against COVID-19 and the managers of medical centers should develop coping strategies for the challenges caused by COVID-19, especially for health human resources in order to improve the performance of healthcare organizations. Hence, the purpose of this study is to investigate the human resource management strategies of medical staff during the COVID-19 to help them cope with the new strains of COVID-19 or epidemics of viral diseases that may occur in the future. In this study, a search was performed in the international Web of Science electronic database, using keywords such as human resource management and COVID-19. As a result, a total of 1884 articles published between January 1st, 2020 and October 22nd, 2021 were extracted. After screening the articles based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, 24 articles were selected to enter the study. Then, a scientometric analysis was performed on the content of selected articles and the results were presented in the form of tables and conceptual models. In total, 9 strategies were extracted from the selected articles including development of organizational culture, staff screening, policy-making, infection control training and monitoring the implementation of learned materials, patient management, human resource management, psychological and motivational support, communication and coordination, and digital health services. Employing comprehensive strategies to maintain the health of healthcare workers during the COVID-19 can play an effective role in reducing burnout, improving productivity and employee satisfaction, and in increasing the resilience of healthcare workers. It also has a positive effect on the patient's safety. Revision and reengineering of human resource management strategies in health and treatment organizations according to different cultures and contexts require research and investment in creative and innovative strategies.

INTRODUCTION: During Covid-19 pandemic, people have been reluctant to visit dentist due to the fear of infection. Dentists have also suffered from severe turmoil. Teledentistry has been considered as a key strategy for managing people's oral health. The aim of this study was to investigate teledentistry services in the world during the Covid-19 pandemic and to learn from different experiences. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The Web of Science database was searched by scientometric analysis approach, using keywords such as Covid-19, telemedicine, teledentistry and synonymous keywords derived from MeSH. Consequently, 94 articles were extracted from which, 15 articles related to teledentistry during Covid-19 were included in the study, considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. RESULTS: Scientometric analysis and illustration of retrieved articles were performed to identify authors, organizations and countries, and to review cooperation and collaboration networks in this field. Teledentistry was studied during Covid-19 in countries such as China, United States, Japan, Italy and United Kingdom. Types of the software used for communication between dentists and patients were WeChat, BigWord telephone translator, iGAM, WhatsApp, Attend Anywhere (AA), DeRS. The software used for data storage were Mouthwatch TeleDent, and Proforma. For data processing and decision making decision tree algorithms, automated algorithms were employed. CONCLUSION: Teledentistry has the potential to improve the provision of dental services. A fundamental review and careful planning is required to provide such services, particularly in developing countries. Furthermore teledentistry needs more in-depth studies in order to overcome existing and future obstacles and risks while taking advantage of its benefits.

INTRODUCTION: Identification of dental implant system in undocumented patients is a major challenge for dentists due to the vast variety of tools and technologies that are used in dental care. It also takes a long time to identify the type of connection or length and diameter of implant. To obtain accurate and timely information, it is necessary to have a Dental Implant Registry (DIR). In the present study, a DIR was designed, developed, and evaluated at the Dental Implant Research Center of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This is an applied, developmental, and cross-sectional study that was conducted between 2018 and 2020. In the present study, after determining the objectives of DIR system, its conceptual model was designed by EDraw Max 7.9 software. Then, the registry was developed in Visual Studio 2018 environment with the C# programming language and, finally, it was evaluated by Nielsen's ten principles of usability assessment. RESULTS: After creating the registry, its data entry search and report functions were tested. Also, in the exploratory evaluation, the highest number of problems related to the principles of system clarity and compatibility between the system and real world was identified. CONCLUSION: The web-based DIR created in C# programming language has the ability to gather data, provide report with different access levels, and send text messages to patients for follow-up. This tool enables physicians to quickly identify the components of dental implant. The web-based DIR also provides support for health research, quality assessment, and dental performance assessment.

BACKGROUND: The importance of dental implant quality register has been well-documented. However, no systematic review conducted on dental implant quality register can be found in the literature. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to study the existed dental implant quality registries to explain the goals, data elements, and reports of dental implant quality registries. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This systematic study was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Embase databases. For evaluating dental implant quality registers, all studies in the English language were examined with no time limitation. Case reports, conference abstracts, and letters to the editor were excluded. The analysis of the quality of the studies was done by the STrengthening the Reporting of OBservational studies in Epidemiology checklist. RESULTS: The primary search identified 5565 articles. After eliminating duplicate articles and articles that did not meet the inclusion criteria and reviewing 40 full texts, 11 studies were included in this study. In this review, seven countries as Sweden, the USA, Canada, Germany, Finland, Australia, and South Korea had dental implant quality registers. Furthermore, the goals of dental implant quality registers were classified into the categories of research, epidemiology, administrative, clinical, and surveillance. CONCLUSION: The results of this study provide dentists and other stakeholders useful information on the existed dental implant quality registers and databases worldwide. It also provides a framework of the goals, data elements, and reports of dental implant quality registry. The establishment of dental implant quality register will be beneficial for societies and also allows them to control the complications of dental implants in future.

BACKGROUND: The spread of COVID-19 creates disruption, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity in all organizations. People are the primary asset of any organization and help achieve their goals. Accordingly, to manage human resources sustainably, the organizational strategy review is an appropriate retort. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this comprehensive review study is to identify unknown challenges, strategies, and unusual decisions related to human resource management other than clinical organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. METHODS: The study applied a narrative review approach dissection based on organizations' human resource management strategies to combat the COVID-19 impacts. The review study conducted published literature research through the electronic databases at Web of Science, PubMed, Scopus, PsycINFO, and LISTA. The study extracted 1281 articles from the mentioned databases from November 2021 to the first quarter of 2021. This study reviewed selected papers, included 15 relevant articles, and removed duplicates according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Finally, the study developed a conceptual framework of human resource management strategies based on the literature findings to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. RESULTS: The COVID-19 pandemic posed numerous adverse consequences, such as economic shock, global health crisis, change in social behaviors, and challenges at the organization level to continue business operations. Besides, the strategies included flexibility, strengthening internal efficiency, talent acquisition, and making innovative changes based on organizational assessment and needs for smooth business activities. CONCLUSION: The appropriate human resource management strategies implementations would increase employees' mental well-being, satisfaction, productivity, motivation, and health safety at the workplace.

INTRODUCTION: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is as a chronic metabolic disease, and disease registry plays an important role in the care of diabetes. Systematic review of diabetes registry systems in different countries has not been conducted based on evidences. This study conducts a systematic review to determine the goals, data elements, reports, data sources and capabilities of diabetes registry systems. METHOD: In this study, searches were conducted in four databases such as PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science and Embase to find available information on diabetes registry systems. Two researchers conducted the search separately to identify related studies based on an input criterion. All controversies were resolved by the consensus. RESULTS: 18,534 studies were identified in the primary search. After reviewing the title and abstract of the articles, 11,344 studies were excluded. Finally, 21 studies were selected for the review. The main characteristics of the diabetes registries have been cited in the study under the categories of country's name with registry, title of the system, data sources and system developers. The information management is considered as the main goal of diabetes registry system. Data elements of diabetes registry were laboratory measurement and chronic complications. CONCLUSION: This systematic review provides a global overview of the goals, data elements, reports, data sources and capabilities of the diabetes registries and recommends the use of diabetes registry to increase efficiency of services and quality of care.
