Tuberculosis has been described as the second great "Imitator" as it can imitate various other disease processes. The manifestations of genitourinary tuberculosis are protean in nature; still tuberculosis is a health concern in South-East Asia region. Tuberculosis of the cervix is rarely found and accounts for 5-10% among all types of genital tuberculosis. Despite meticulous history and clinical examination does not always lead to suspect this disease, the definitive diagnosis is based on the demonstration of the characteristic lesion on histopathology or on bacterial isolation. We are reporting a case of a 26-years-old woman who presented with secondary amenorrhea and a benign looking endocervical polyp. Diagnosis of cervical tuberculosis could be clinched after tissue biopsy which revealed caseous granuloma on histopathological examination along with other supportive laboratory investigation reports. Patient was subsequently started on antitubercular therapy (ATT) according to directly observed treatment schedule- category I, resulting in resumption of her menses after four months of starting of ATT. An awareness of the atypical clinical manifestations of tuberculosis is important, especially in regions where tuberculosis continues to be a major public health problem, such as Bangladesh. One should have high index of suspicion in order to diagnose tuberculosis of cervix in such cases, especially in high prevalence areas, so that patients can be managed appropriately with antitubercular therapy and complications can be prevented.

Tuberculosis is a very common disease in our country. This retrospective histopathological study was designed to assess the distribution of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) in various organs through examination of biopsy specimens. A total of 216 specimens were diagnosed as tubercular lesion by histopathological evaluation in the Department of pathology, Community Based Medical College and a private laboratory during the period from January 2014 to December 2014. Mean age of the case was 32 years. Majority of the cases were female (126 out of 216). Lymph nodes were the most common site of EPTB (62.96%) followed by skin and subcutaneous tissue (17.59%), intestine (11.11%), breast (2.77%), female genital tract (2.31%), male genital tract (1.38%), bone and joint (1.85%). Out of 136 cases of tubercular lymphadenitis, 96(70.58%) were cervical, 18(13.23%) were axillary, 12(3.82%) were mesenteric and 10(7.35%) were inguinal. This study reveals, in our locality, EPTB is very common in adulthood with female preponderance. Cervical lymph node is very common sites for EPTB.

Part of the chain in petawatt laser systems may involve extreme focusing conditions for which nonparaxial and vectorial effects have high impact on the propagation of radiation. We investigate the possibility of using propagation equations to simulate numerically the focal spot under these conditions. We derive a unidirectional propagation equation for the Hertz vector, describing linear and nonlinear propagation under situations where nonparaxial diffraction and vectorial effects become significant. By comparing our simulations to the results of vector diffraction integrals in the case of linear tight-focusing by a parabolic mirror, we establish a practical criterion for the critical f -number below which initializing a propagation equation with a parabolic input phase becomes inaccurate. We propose a method to find suitable input conditions for propagation equations beyond this limit. Extreme focusing conditions are shown to be modeled accurately by means of numerical simulations of the unidirectional Hertz-vector propagation equation initialized with suitable input conditions.
