RESUMEN

Currently, in many Asian and European countries, a group of mushrooms has been distinguished, which, due to their medicinal and/or dietary properties, are referred to as medicinal mushrooms. Hypsizygus marmoreus is a species valued for its proven nutritional and healing properties. In the scientific literature available so far, mainly from Asian countries, it is possible to find research on the therapeutic effect of H. marmoreus. Biologically active substances, their presence, and in particular, their level in this species have not been the subject of extensive research. The aim of the present review is to describe and summarize the dietary and therapeutic potential of this increasingly popular species among consumers in European countries. Because H. marmoreus is a species with known dietary and health-promoting properties, this species of wood fungi could be commonly obtained from cultivation in European countries.

RESUMEN

Hypsizygus marmoreus is an edible medicinal mushroom species with a high dietary value. In this study, the fruiting bodies of commercial and self-cultivated crops and mycelium from in vitro H. marmoreus cultures (both white and brown varieties) were evaluated. This study aimed to analyze the presence of indole compounds and other biologically active substances and determine the effect that the addition of zinc and magnesium ions to the culture medium has on the content of the tested compounds in mycelial cultures. The content of indole compounds and other organic compounds was determined using high-performance liquid chromatography, the content of bioelements was determined using flame atomic absorption spectrometry, the glucan content was determined spectrophotometrically, and the antioxidant activity of extracts was estimated using DPPH, FRAP, and ABTS methods. The results showed that H. marmoreus mycelium from in vitro cultures is a good source of indole compounds, bioelements, glucans, and lovastatin. Mycelia from in vitro cultures showed the most diverse composition of indole compounds (L-tryptophan, 5-hydroxy-L-tryptophan, tryptamine, 5-methyltryptamine, and melatonin). Additionally, in vitro cultures of H. marmoreus enriched with Zn and Mg salts increased the contents of Na, Ca, Zn, 5-methyltryptamine, melatonin, protocatechuic acid, sterols, and total glucans. Only in the case of the white variety of mycelial enriched cultures, ergothioneine and Mg levels also increased. To summarize, the content of the active compounds differed depending on the H. marmoreus variety and the tested material.

RESUMEN

The crystal structure of the new polymorphic form of 3-aminoflavone (3-AF) has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. This report presents results of fluorimetric studies on 3-AF in methanol and aquatic solvents. Based on 3D fluorescence emission spectra, optimal values for excitation (λex) and emission/analytical (λem) wavelength, the analytical concentration range as well as the range of concentration quenching for the studied compound were established. Moreover, the limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ) were determined. The results were compared with those obtained using the standard UV-Vis absorption spectrophotometric method. The effect of acidity (pH) and the concentration of halide anions (chlorides, bromides, iodides and fluorides) on fluorescence quenching were analysed.

RESUMEN

The article presents extended computer investigations of various sulfate derivatives of riboflavin. A number of physicochemical parameters such as total energy, binding energy and formation heat were calculated via semi-empirical methods AM1 and PM3 for the different derivatives of riboflavin. Their analysis made it possible to determine the sequence of formation of sulfate derivatives--esterification is the easiest at hydroxyl groups at the farthest positions from the ring. This methodology may be used to study biologically active compounds.

RESUMEN

The synthesis and antitumour and antibacterial activity of coumarin and chromone phosphorohydrazones have been reported. This study describes influence of phosphorohydrazones derivatives of coumarin and chromone on the polymerization and viscosity of fibrin. The fibrin polymerization assay was performed by the Shen and Lorand method and the clot viscosity was measured on the basis of Shen and Lorand and Marchi and coworkers methods. Among the eight compounds tested, one coumarin derivative and two chromone derivatives showed significant activity.

RESUMEN

A number of physicochemical parameters were calculated via semi-empirical methods AM1 and PM3 for the molecule of riboflavin at various protonation states. Their analysis made it possible to determine the acidicity of appropriate groups of this compound. The sequence of protons dissociation and accepting by the neutral molecule of riboflavin was determined. This methodology may be used to study acid-base properties of other biologically active compounds.

RESUMEN

The article presents investigations of riboflavin reactions in aqueous solutions of sulphuric acid. Analysis of UV/VIS, 1H NMR spectra and TLC indicates that at the beginning of the reaction ester of riboflavin were obtained and then sulphonation reaction took place. From the analysis of UV/VIS spectra the kinetics of the reaction was calculated, using own computer program.
