RESUMEN
Submitted in the paper are data secured in investigations designed to study efficacies of peloid applications to the area of projection of the adrenal glands in patients with the history of viral hepatits A and B presenting with a high risk of chronization of the illness. The analysis of the therapy effect was performed on the basis of examination of 45 VH reconvalescents with making use of clinical, biochemical and immunological investigational techniques. The findings obtained suggest restoration during the above therapy of the functional state of the liver as well as immunomodulating effect of the method, moderation of autoimmunoaggression, and expediancy of its employment in the rehabilitative period of VH in those patients presenting with signs of disfunction of the immunity system, history of allergoses and presence of concomitant pathology.

Intraventricular injection of cerebrospinal fluid obtained from cats with electroshock seizures resulted in suppression of generalized picrotoxin-induced seizures in rats. Antiepileptic action of cerebrospinal fluid was abolished by partial bilateral midbrain destruction that included the region of colliculi superii. Electrical stimulation of cerebellum in cats with such destructions caused the appearance of a pronase-sensitive antiepileptic substances in cerebrospinal fluid.

Experiments were performed on male Wistar rats to study posture-movement disorders after intracerebroventricular, intraamygdalar, intrahippocampal and intranigral (pars reticulata) injections of somatostatin and neurotensin. Development of movement disturbances characterized by changes in the posture-movement syndrome was observed after somatostatin and neurotensin administration. Manifestation of movement disorders, their duration and the posture-movement syndrome structure depended on the structure to which neuropeptides were injected as well as on the neuropeptides themselves. Prolonged changes characterized by appearance of the so called "Sphinx" posture in animals developed after somatostatin intranigral administration. The obtained data permit concluding that somatostatin and neurotensin may have pathogenic significance in cataleptic syndrome development.

Experiments were performed on male Wistar rats with the aim to study effects exerted by microinjections of somatostatin and neurotensin into lateral ventricle, amygdala, hippocampus and substantia nigra pars reticulata in case of epileptic activity. It was established that the mentioned neuropeptides exerted antiepileptic effect during seizures induced by corazol and picrotoxin, which was expressed by substantial elongation of the seizure latency and a decreasing of seizure intensity. It was shown that antiseizure activity of somatostatin and neurotensin was higher under conditions of picrotoxin-induced epileptic activity, than under conditions of that induced by corazol. A conclusion is made that somatostatin and neurotensin take part in epileptic activity regulation.

The authors present an analysis of the general morbidity among sailors. It was established that the leading place is occupied by diseases of the respiratory organs. It is proposed to include in the system of medical choice of sailors examination of the external respiration and immune status.
