RESUMEN

The data of clinical neuroimmunology permit to separate some immunological syndromes in the course and in the outcome of the injured brain disease. In cerebral concussion these are to be a stressing immune deficiency and reversible neurosensibilization; lightly grave contusions is followed by the syndrome of immunobarrier function disturbance; in moderately grave or grave contusions--border-line immunodysfunction; the dead showed unfolding of the neurogenic immunodysfunction syndrome, worsened by immunologic paralysis.

RESUMEN

Serum levels of secretory IgA were measured in 66 patients with aggravation of peptic ulcer versus 52 healthy subjects. IgA concentrations in the patients were found elevated, the rise being dependent on the ulcer site, standing and severity of course. Treatment-induced decline of the ulcer exacerbation was accompanied by a fall in IgA levels. It is hold that serum IgA can serve a marker of gastroduodenal ulcer exacerbation.

RESUMEN

Systemic and local humoral immunity and nonspecific defense factors were investigated in 88 patients with duodenal peptic ulcers and 18 patients with gastric ulcers. In acute conditions, nonspecific defence was depressed and blood IgG level was increased in peptic ulcer patients. An increase in complement titre, C3 and lysozyme, and a decrease in IgG were recorded after treatment, although normal levels were never attained. Salivary, gastric-juice and duodenal-content secretory IgA levels were characteristically increased during acute phases of peptic ulcer; salivary IgA declined after treatment. The disturbance of nonspecific defence, systemic and local humoral immunity, demonstrated in patients with peptic ulcers, may be regarded as a possible ulcerogenic mechanism.

RESUMEN

The authors believe that the deficiency of immunoglobulins A in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with arachnoiditis may be explained by an increase in their consumption due to antigenic aggression in relation to the meninges, which results in extremely low values of the circulating immunoglobulins A. The absence of immunoglobulins A in the CSF of patients with cerebral arachnoiditis is one of the components of its pathogenesis owing to impairment of permeability of the blood brain barrier and fixation of antigens in the tissues of the brain and meninges.
