OBJECTIVE: This work examines the relationship between local flavor policy exposure and any tobacco product use and flavored tobacco product use among U.S. youth and young adults, as well as the equity potential of these policies by race/ethnicity. METHODS: Participants were aged 15-36 (n = 10,893) surveyed from September-December 2019 using national, address- and probability-based sampling. Local flavor policies enacted before survey completion were linked to participant home address. Weighted cross-sectional multivariable logistic regression examined individual coverage by flavor policy vs. no flavor policy, with current any tobacco or flavored tobacco use, controlling for individual and county-level demographics, psychosocial variables, and other tobacco control policies. Interactions between race/ethnicity and any tobacco use and flavored tobacco use were assessed. RESULTS: Those covered by a flavor policy vs. no policy had lower odds of any tobacco use (aOR = 0.74, 95% CI = 0.55-1.00) and current flavored tobacco use (aOR = 0.67, 95% CI = 0.48-0.93). Compared with Non-Hispanic (NH)-White individuals, NH-Black individuals (aOR = 1.08, CI = 1.04-1.12) had higher odds of any tobacco use, and non-Hispanic Asian individuals had lower odds of any tobacco use (aOR = 0.67, CI = 0.53-0.85). Hispanic individuals exposed to policy had lower odds of flavored tobacco use compared to NH-White peers. CONCLUSIONS: Exposure to flavor restriction policies is associated with lower odds of any tobacco and flavored use among youth and young adults. Flavor restrictions may be beneficial in reducing tobacco use in youth from diverse racial/ethnic backgrounds. However, passing policies covering NH-Black individuals is needed to mitigate disparities in tobacco use by flavor policy coverage over time.

Background: Health disparities are costly and preventable differences in disease progression that disproportionately affect minority communities such as African Americans. Practices to reduce health disparities can be rooted in prevention, particularly through screening tools. Family Health History tools are preventative screening mechanisms meant to explore family history to better understand how an individual's health can potentially be predicted or impacted. These tools are underutilized in the African American community. Contributions to this underutilization include a lack of cultural tailoring in the tools, a lack of health literacy in community members, and a lack of effective health communication. The Family Health History Study will create a culturally appropriate Family Health History toolkit to increase family health history utilization and ultimately decrease health disparities. Methods: The proposed sample will be composed of 195 African American adults ages 18 + who live in Genesee County, Michigan. The study consists of two phases: the development phase and the randomized pilot study phase. The goal of the development phase (n = 95) is to explore how Family Health History toolkits can be modified to better serve the African American community using a community based participatory research approach and to create a culturally tailored family health history toolkit. In the pilot study phase, 100 participants will be randomized to the culturally tailored toolkit or the current standard Family Health History toolkit. Outcomes will include feasibility and acceptability of the intervention. Discussion: This study will result in a culturally appropriate Family Health History tool that is co-developed with community members that can be utilized by African American adults to better understand their family health histories. Skeletal muscle aging is a key contributor to age-related frailty and sarcopenia with substantial implications for global health. Here we profiled 90,902 single cells and 92,259 single nuclei from 17 donors to map the aging process in the adult human intercostal muscle, identifying cellular changes in each muscle compartment. We found that distinct subsets of muscle stem cells exhibit decreased ribosome biogenesis genes and increased CCL2 expression, causing different aging phenotypes. Our atlas also highlights an expansion of nuclei associated with the neuromuscular junction, which may reflect re-innervation, and outlines how the loss of fast-twitch myofibers is mitigated through regeneration and upregulation of fast-type markers in slow-twitch myofibers with age. Furthermore, we document the function of aging muscle microenvironment in immune cell attraction. Overall, we present a comprehensive human skeletal muscle aging resource ( https://www.muscleageingcellatlas.org/ ) together with an in-house mouse muscle atlas to study common features of muscle aging across species.

BACKGROUND: Adults with type 1 or type 2 diabetes often face financial challenges and other unmet social needs to effective diabetes self-management. OBJECTIVE: Whether a digital intervention focused on addressing socioeconomic determinants of health improves diabetes clinical outcomes more than usual care. DESIGN: Randomized trial from 2019 to 2023. PARTICIPANTS: A total of 600 adults with diabetes, HbA1c ≥ 7.5%, and self-reported unmet social needs or financial burden from a health system and randomized to the intervention or standard care. INTERVENTION: CareAvenue is an automated, e-health intervention with eight videos that address unmet social needs contributing to poor outcomes. MEASURES: Primary outcome was HbA1c, measured at baseline, and 6 and 12 months after randomization. Secondary outcomes included systolic blood pressure and reported met social needs, cost-related non-adherence (CRN), and financial burden. We examined main effects and variation in effects across predefined subgroups. RESULTS: Seventy-eight percent of CareAvenue participants completed one or more modules of the website. At 12-month follow-up, there were no significant differences in HbA1c changes between CareAvenue and control group (p = 0.24). There were also no significant between-group differences in systolic blood pressure (p = 0.29), met social needs (p = 0.25), CRN (p = 0.18), and perceived financial burden (p = 0.31). In subgroup analyses, participants with household incomes 100-400% FPL (1.93 (SE = 0.76), p < 0.01), 201-400% FPL (1.30 (SE = 0.62), p < 0.04), and > 400% FPL (1.27 (SE = 0.64), p < 0.05) had significantly less A1c decreases compared to the control group. CONCLUSIONS: On average, CareAvenue participants did not achieve better A1c lowering, met needs, CRN, or perceived financial burden compared to control participants. CareAvenue participants with higher incomes achieved significantly less A1c reductions than control. Further research is needed on social needs interventions that consider tailored approaches to population subgroups. CLINICAL TRIALS REGISTRY: ClinicalTrials.gov ID NCT03950973, May 2019.

MOTIVATION: The acquisition of somatic mutations in hematopoietic stem and progenitor stem cells with resultant clonal expansion, termed clonal hematopoiesis (CH), is associated with increased risk of hematologic malignancies and other adverse outcomes. CH is generally present at low allelic fractions, but clonal expansion and acquisition of additional mutations leads to hematologic cancers in a small proportion of individuals. With high depth and high sensitivity sequencing, CH can be detected in most adults and its clonal trajectory mapped over time. However, accurate CH variant calling is challenging due to the difficulty in distinguishing low frequency CH mutations from sequencing artifacts. The lack of well-validated bioinformatic pipelines for CH calling may contribute to lack of reproducibility in studies of CH. RESULTS: Here, we developed ArCH, an Artifact filtering Clonal Hematopoiesis variant calling pipeline for detecting single nucleotide variants and short insertions/deletions by combining the output of four variant calling tools and filtering based on variant characteristics and sequencing error rate estimation. ArCH is an end-to-end cloud-based pipeline optimized to accept a variety of inputs with customizable parameters adaptable to multiple sequencing technologies, research questions, and datasets. Using deep targeted sequencing data generated from six acute myeloid leukemia patient tumor: normal dilutions, 31 blood samples with orthogonal validation, and 26 blood samples with technical replicates, we show that ArCH improves the sensitivity and positive predictive value of CH variant detection at low allele frequencies compared to standard application of commonly used variant calling approaches. Importance: Health care systems are increasingly adopting methods to screen for and integrate food insecurity and other social risk factors into electronic health records. However, there remain knowledge gaps regarding the cumulative burden of food insecurity in large clinical settings, which patients are most at risk, and the extent to which patients are interested in social assistance through their health care system. Objective: To evaluate the 5-year prevalence and associated risk factors of food insecurity among adult primary care patients, and to examine factors associated with patients' interest in social assistance among those with food insecurity. Design, Setting, and Participants: This cross-sectional analysis of a retrospective cohort study took place at a tertiary care academic medical center (encompassing 20 primary care clinics) in Michigan. Participants included adult patients who completed screening for social risk factors between August 1, 2017, and August 1, 2022. Data analysis was performed from November 2022 to June 2023. Exposure: Food insecurity was assessed using the Hunger Vital Sign. Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcome was patients' interest in social assistance, and associated factors were examined using multivariate logistic regression models, adjusting for patients' demographic and health characteristics. Results: Over the 5-year period, 106 087 adult primary care patients (mean [SD] age, 52.9 [17.9] years; 61 343 women [57.8%]) completed the standardized social risk factors questionnaire and were included in the analysis. The overall prevalence of food insecurity was 4.2% (4498 patients), with monthly trends ranging from 1.5% (70 positive screens) in August 2018 to 5.0% (193 positive screens) in June 2022. Food insecurity was significantly higher among patients who were younger, female, non-Hispanic Black or Hispanic, unmarried or unpartnered, and with public health insurance. Food insecurity was significantly associated with a higher cumulative burden of social needs, including social isolation, medical care insecurity, medication nonadherence, housing instability, and lack of transportation. Only 20.6% of patients with food insecurity (927 patients) expressed interest in social assistance. Factors associated with interest in social assistance including being non-Hispanic Black, unmarried or unpartnered, a current smoker, and having a higher burden of other social needs. Conclusions and Relevance: In this retrospective cohort study, the overall prevalence of food insecurity was 4.2%, of whom approximately 1 in 5 patients with food insecurity expressed interest in assistance. This study highlights ongoing challenges in ensuring all patients complete routine social determinants of health screening and gaps in patients' interest in assistance for food insecurity and other social needs through their health care system.

Introduction: Concept flavor e-cigarettes, defined as products with vague/ambiguous flavor (tobacco flavor and non-tobacco flavor) names, may limit the intended impact and enforcement of flavored tobacco restrictions. This study assessed trends in unit sales of concept flavor e-cigarettes in the U.S. by volume, nicotine concentration levels (NCL), flavor and device type. Methods: We analyzed NielsenIQ Retail Scanner point-of-sales data collected from 2182 Local Trade Areas in the contiguous 48 U.S. states and the District of Columbia aggregated weekly from August 10, 2019, through April 9, 2022. Concept flavors were categorized by: flavor type (tobacco, fruity, menthol, mint, and other); device type (pods/refillable cartridges, disposables, e-liquids, and other); and NCL (0 %-2.0 %, 2.1 %-4.0 %, > 4.1 %, unknown). Joinpoint regression was used to assess sales trends. Results: Overall unit sales during the study period increased by 33.63 % from 1040.85 to 1390.88 thousand units per month (p = 0.006). Between August 2019 and September 2021, unit sales increased and peaked; between September 2021 and April 2022 sales decreased by 14.46 % (from 1626.02 to 1390.88 thousand units; p = 0.002). Sales of fruity, menthol and mint flavors concept flavor e-cigarettes increased by > 1000 %; disposable devices by 302.18 %; pods and refillable cartridges by 33.81 % overall; and products NCL > 4.0 % increased by 110.18 %. Tobacco flavor concept flavors (93.28 %), pods (94.63 %), and products with 2.1 %-4.0 % NCL (88.40 %) dominated unit share. Conclusion: Sustaining the recent overall decline in the unit sales of concept flavor e-cigarettes and monitoring the sales of products with nicotine concentration greater than 2.0%, non-tobacco flavor, and pod products warrant prioritization in tobacco control efforts.

T cells develop from circulating precursors, which enter the thymus and migrate throughout specialised sub-compartments to support maturation and selection. This process starts already in early fetal development and is highly active until the involution of the thymus in adolescence. To map the micro-anatomical underpinnings of this process in pre- vs. post-natal states, we undertook a spatially resolved analysis and established a new quantitative morphological framework for the thymus, the Cortico-Medullary Axis. Using this axis in conjunction with the curation of a multimodal single-cell, spatial transcriptomics and high-resolution multiplex imaging atlas, we show that canonical thymocyte trajectories and thymic epithelial cells are highly organised and fully established by post-conception week 12, pinpoint TEC progenitor states, find that TEC subsets and peripheral tissue genes are associated with Hassall's Corpuscles and uncover divergence in the pace and drivers of medullary entry between CD4 vs. CD8 T cell lineages. These findings are complemented with a holistic toolkit for spatial analysis and annotation, providing a basis for a detailed understanding of T lymphocyte development.

The Emotional Well-Being and Economic Burden (EMOT-ECON) Research Network is one of six research networks funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to advance research about emotional well-being (EWB), and the only one that focuses on addressing how economic burden due to disease or illness affects EWB. The network convened researchers, patients, patient advocates, health care providers and other stakeholders from across the US to discuss the significance of addressing the impact of the economic burden of disease on EWB, the complexity of this prevalent problem for patients and families, and the research gaps that still need to be studied to ultimately develop strategies to reduce the impact of economic burden of disease on EWB and health. Participants identified some important future areas of research as those investigating: (i) prevalent and relevant emotions for patients experiencing economic burden of disease and financial hardship, and how their broader outlook on life is impacted; (ii) constructs and contexts that influence whether the economic burden is stressful; (iii) strategies to deal and cope and their positive or negative effects on EWB and health; and (iv) multi-level and multi-stakeholder interventions to address economic factors (e.g., costs, ability to pay), administrative burdens, education and training, and especially patients' emotional as well as financial status.

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether food insecurity and perceived financial stress contribute to cost-related medication non-adherence (CRN) in stroke. METHODS: We conducted a retrospective study of adult stroke survivors in the National Health Interview Survey (2014-2018). Weighted prevalence of food insecurity, perceived financial stress, and CRN by age was calculated. Multiple logistic regression was conducted between food insecurity or perceived financial stress and CRN, adjusting for demographic and clinical variables. RESULTS: Prevalence of food insecurity, perceived financial stress, and CRN respectively were 38%, 75%, and 26% (age 18-44), 38%, 76%, and 21% (age 45-64) and 17%, 43%, and 6% (age≥ 65). Food insecurity and perceived financial stress respectively were associated with CRN in stroke survivors aged 45-64 [odds ratio (95% CI) 1.35 (1.18-1.54) and 1.44 (1.29-1.61)] and age ≥ 65 [1.77 (1.52-2.06) and 1.51 (1.37-1.67)]. CONCLUSION: Food insecurity and perceived financial stress are prevalent in stroke survivors and associated with CRN.

INTRODUCTION: On 29 April 2021, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced its intention to prohibit menthol as a characterising flavour in cigarettes. METHODS: We assessed the changes in cigarette sales associated with the FDA's announcement using interrupted time series analysis based on monthly retail point-of-sale data on cigarettes from the NielsenIQ Local Trade Area (LTA) data from September 2019 to April 2022. Main outcome variables included LTA-level monthly menthol and non-menthol cigarette sales per 1000-persons. RESULTS: Monthly cigarette sales were declining before the FDA's announcement (menthol vs non-menthol: -1.68 (95% CI -1.92, -1.45) vs -3.14 (95% CI -3.33, -2.96) packs per 1000-persons). Monthly menthol cigarette sales increased immediately in May 2021 after the FDA's announcement by 6.44 packs per 1000-persons (95% CI 3.83, 9.05). Analysis stratified by LTA-level racial/ethnic compositions showed that LTAs with a relatively higher proportion of non-Hispanic Black population (>8.94%) experienced higher spike in menthol cigarette sales in May 2021 immediately after the announcement and higher post-announcement 12-month menthol cigarette sales than expected. CONCLUSIONS: Areas with a relatively higher proportion of non-Hispanic Black population are potentially at risk of experiencing increased burden of menthol cigarette consumption. Targeted community level cessation support in non-Hispanic Black majority areas may help mitigate the growing burden of menthol cigarette smoking and improve health equity. The findings of this study also suggest that FDA's prompt finalisation and enforcement of such ban may help avoid extending the increased burden of menthol cigarette consumptions in non-Hispanic Black majority areas.

This study examined variations in cigarette smoking status, home smoking and vaping rules, and attitudes toward smoking rules among U.S. adults. We analyzed data from the 2019 U.S. Census Bureau's Current Population Survey Supplements (n = 40,296 adults) and calculated weighted prevalence estimates of adult cigarette smoking based on housing type. In 2019, multi-unit housing (MUH) residents who currently smoked were predominantly residents of privately rented housing (66.9%), followed by privately owned (17.6%) and public housing (15.5%). MUH residents who currently smoked had the highest proportions of allowing smoking (26.7%) or vaping (29.1%) anywhere inside their homes and were least likely to support rules allowing smoking inside all MUH apartments or living areas. In the adjusted models, MUH residents with a current smoking status were 92% less likely to have a complete smoking ban. More than one in four MUH residents with a current smoking status allowed all smoking inside the home and supported allowing smoking inside all MUH apartment or living areas, reinforcing how MUH residents may be at higher risk of experiencing secondhand smoke or aerosol exposure, or incursions within their places of residence. Our results can inform the development, implementation, and sustainment of strategies to reduce exposures from tobacco and nicotine products in all living environments.

KPTN-related disorder is an autosomal recessive disorder associated with germline variants in KPTN (previously known as kaptin), a component of the mTOR regulatory complex KICSTOR. To gain further insights into the pathogenesis of KPTN-related disorder, we analysed mouse knockout and human stem cell KPTN loss-of-function models. Kptn -/- mice display many of the key KPTN-related disorder phenotypes, including brain overgrowth, behavioural abnormalities, and cognitive deficits. By assessment of affected individuals, we have identified widespread cognitive deficits (n = 6) and postnatal onset of brain overgrowth (n = 19). By analysing head size data from their parents (n = 24), we have identified a previously unrecognized KPTN dosage-sensitivity, resulting in increased head circumference in heterozygous carriers of pathogenic KPTN variants. Molecular and structural analysis of Kptn-/- mice revealed pathological changes, including differences in brain size, shape and cell numbers primarily due to abnormal postnatal brain development. Both the mouse and differentiated induced pluripotent stem cell models of the disorder display transcriptional and biochemical evidence for altered mTOR pathway signalling, supporting the role of KPTN in regulating mTORC1. By treatment in our KPTN mouse model, we found that the increased mTOR signalling downstream of KPTN is rapamycin sensitive, highlighting possible therapeutic avenues with currently available mTOR inhibitors. These findings place KPTN-related disorder in the broader group of mTORC1-related disorders affecting brain structure, cognitive function and network integrity.

The function of a cell is defined by its intrinsic characteristics and its niche: the tissue microenvironment in which it dwells. Here we combine single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data to discover cellular niches within eight regions of the human heart. We map cells to microanatomical locations and integrate knowledge-based and unsupervised structural annotations. We also profile the cells of the human cardiac conduction system1. The results revealed their distinctive repertoire of ion channels, G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and regulatory networks, and implicated FOXP2 in the pacemaker phenotype. We show that the sinoatrial node is compartmentalized, with a core of pacemaker cells, fibroblasts and glial cells supporting glutamatergic signalling. Using a custom CellPhoneDB.org module, we identify trans-synaptic pacemaker cell interactions with glia. We introduce a druggable target prediction tool, drug2cell, which leverages single-cell profiles and drug-target interactions to provide mechanistic insights into the chronotropic effects of drugs, including GLP-1 analogues. In the epicardium, we show enrichment of both IgG+ and IgA+ plasma cells forming immune niches that may contribute to infection defence. Overall, we provide new clarity to cardiac electro-anatomy and immunology, and our suite of computational approaches can be applied to other tissues and organs.

INTRODUCTION: E-cigarette use increased between 2014 and 2018 among younger U.S. adults who had never smoked combustible cigarettes, potentially increasing nicotine addiction risk and progression to combustible tobacco products. It is unknown how prevalence changed after the E-cigarette, or vaping, product use-associated lung injury epidemic (late 2019) and COVID-19 pandemic (March 2020) by age group and combustible cigarette smoking status. METHODS: Data from cross-sectional, nationally representative National Health Interview Surveys in 2019, 2020, and 2021 (analyzed in 2022) were used to estimate current E-cigarette use prevalence, adjusted prevalence difference between survey years, and population counts, by age group (younger, 18-29 years, n=11,700; middle age, 30-44 years, n=21,300, 45-59 years, n=21,308; older, ≥60 years, n=36,224) and cigarette smoking status (current, former, and never). RESULTS: E-cigarette use prevalence increased among younger adults between 2019 and 2021 (8.8%-10.2%, adjusted prevalence difference=1.7% points, 95% CI=0.1, 3.3), primarily owing to an increase among those who never smoked cigarettes (4.9%-6.4%, adjusted prevalence difference=1.7% points, 95% CI=0.3, 3.1). People who never smoked cigarettes constituted 53% (2.68 million) of younger adults who used E-cigarettes in 2021, increasing by 0.71 million from 2019. Conversely, among middle age and older adults, the prevalence was similar in 2019 and 2021 irrespective of cigarette smoking status, and those who formerly smoked cigarettes constituted the largest proportion of people who used E-cigarettes in 2021 (age 30-44 years: 51.8%, 1.8 million; age 45-59 years: 51.6%, 0.85 million; age ≥60 years: 47.5%, 0.45 million). CONCLUSIONS: Efforts must address the rise in E-cigarette use among younger adults who never smoked cigarettes. At the same time, assistance is needed to help those who switched to E-cigarettes to stop smoking to transition to non-use of all products.

Granular information on material deprivation including financial and economic well-being among people with diabetes can better inform policy, practice and interventions to support diabetes management. The purpose of this study was to describe in-depth the state of economic burden, financial stress, and coping among people with high A1c. Data came from the 2019-2021 baseline assessment in an ongoing U.S. trial that addresses social determinants of health among people with diabetes and high A1c who report at least one financial burden or cost-related non-adherence (CRN) (n = 600). Mean age of participants was 53 years. Planning behaviors were the most common financial well-being behavior, while savings was least frequently endorsed. Nearly a quarter of participants report spending more than $300 per month out-of-pocket to manage all of their health conditions. Participants reported spending the most out-of-pocket on medications (52%), special foods (40%), doctor's visits (27%), and blood glucose supplies (22%). Along with health insurance, these were also the most cited as sources of financial stress and where assistance. Seventy-two percent reported high levels of financial stress. Maladaptive coping was evident through CRN, and less than half engaged in adaptive coping such as talking to a doctor about cost or using a resource to address their needs. Economic burden, financial stress, and cost-related coping are highly relevant constructs among people with diabetes and high A1cs. More evidence-generation is needed for diabetes self-management programs to address sources of financial stress, facilitate behaviors to enhance financial well-being, and address unmet social needs to alleviate economic burdens.

Oral nicotine pouches are gaining popularity, yet national-level research on youth and young adult use is still needed. We examined characteristics of those who use oral nicotine pouches and trends in use over time in a sample of U.S. youth and young adults. Data were obtained from a weekly, national, online, continuous tracking survey of approximately 315 unique participants (aged 15-24) per week. Bivariate analyses were conducted on those surveyed December 2021 to May 2022 (n = 7,832) summarizing demographic and tobacco product use characteristics of those currently using oral nicotine pouches, those who had ever used oral nicotine pouches, but not currently, and those who never used pouches. From December 2021 to May 2022, 16% of participants ever used nicotine pouches and 12% currently used the product. Participants who currently used oral nicotine pouches were more likely to report being aged 21+, male, and lower income. Seventy-three percent of those who currently used pouches and 33% of those who ever, but not currently, used pouches reported current cigarette smoking. Results suggest that many young people who smoke cigarettes are concurrently using oral nicotine pouches. We also examined current and ever use in respondents surveyed between September 2020 and May 2022 to assess trends over the two-year period (n = 25,944) and findings indicate stable oral nicotine product use rates over time among adolescents and young adults. Appropriate regulation is needed so nicotine naïve individuals do not initiate use and those currently using tobacco do not use oral nicotine pouches concurrently with other products.

Emerging in November 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant of concern exhibited marked immune evasion resulting in reduced vaccine effectiveness against SARS-CoV-2 infection and symptomatic disease. Most vaccine effectiveness data on Omicron are derived from the first Omicron subvariant, BA.1, which caused large waves of infection in many parts of the world within a short period of time. BA.1, however, was replaced by BA.2 within months, and later by BA.4 and BA.5 (BA.4/5). These later Omicron subvariants exhibited additional mutations in the spike protein of the virus, leading to speculation that they might result in even lower vaccine effectiveness. To address this question, the World Health Organization hosted a virtual meeting on December 6, 2022, to review available evidence for vaccine effectiveness against the major Omicron subvariants up to that date. Data were presented from South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, as well as the results of a review and meta-regression of studies that evaluated the duration of the vaccine effectiveness for multiple Omicron subvariants. Despite heterogeneity of results and wide confidence intervals in some studies, the majority of studies showed vaccine effectiveness tended to be lower against BA.2 and especially against BA.4/5, compared to BA.1, with perhaps faster waning against severe disease caused by BA.4/5 after a booster dose. The interpretation of these results was discussed and both immunological factors (i.e., more immune escape with BA.4/5) and methodological issues (e.g., biases related to differences in the timing of subvariant circulation) were possible explanations for the findings. COVID-19 vaccines still provide some protection against infection and symptomatic disease from all Omicron subvariants for at least several months, with greater and more durable protection against severe disease.
