RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: To examine and consolidate literature regarding the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing ChatGPT in healthcare education and research. DESIGN/METHODS: We searched seven electronic databases (PubMed/Medline, CINAHL, Embase, PsycINFO, Scopus, ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global, and Web of Science) from November 2022 until September 2023. This scoping review adhered to Arksey and O'Malley's framework and followed reporting guidelines outlined in the PRISMA-ScR checklist. For analysis, we employed Thomas and Harden's thematic synthesis framework. RESULTS: A total of 100 studies were included. An overarching theme, "Forging the Future: Bridging Theory and Integration of ChatGPT" emerged, accompanied by two main themes (1) Enhancing Healthcare Education, Research, and Writing with ChatGPT, (2) Controversies and Concerns about ChatGPT in Healthcare Education Research and Writing, and seven subthemes. CONCLUSIONS: Our review underscores the importance of acknowledging legitimate concerns related to the potential misuse of ChatGPT such as 'ChatGPT hallucinations', its limited understanding of specialized healthcare knowledge, its impact on teaching methods and assessments, confidentiality and security risks, and the controversial practice of crediting it as a co-author on scientific papers, among other considerations. Furthermore, our review also recognizes the urgency of establishing timely guidelines and regulations, along with the active engagement of relevant stakeholders, to ensure the responsible and safe implementation of ChatGPT's capabilities. We advocate for the use of cross-verification techniques to enhance the precision and reliability of generated content, the adaptation of higher education curricula to incorporate ChatGPT's potential, educators' need to familiarize themselves with the technology to improve their literacy and teaching approaches, and the development of innovative methods to detect ChatGPT usage. Furthermore, data protection measures should be prioritized when employing ChatGPT, and transparent reporting becomes crucial when integrating ChatGPT into academic writing.

BACKGROUND: Despite numerous initiatives attempting to enhance BF across Asia, recent studies show that exclusive BF rates remain alarmingly low. With globalization, society has shifted from traditional family roles towards more egalitarian marriages, where Asian fathers are now more involved in parenting. As fathers' involvement in breastfeeding is highly complex and context-sensitive, evaluation of a wide range of concepts and evidence within the Asian context is necessary. OBJECTIVE: This review aims to consolidate and appraise empirical studies exploring fathers' breastfeeding knowledge, attitude, and involvement within the Asian context. DESIGN: A systematic mixed-studies review was conducted. Six electronic databases (PubMed, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Embase, Scopus, and ProQuest Dissertations and Theses Global) were searched from each database's inception date until June 2022. Studies were appraised using the Mixed Method Appraisal Tool and data was synthesised using the results-based convergent integration method. FINDINGS: Twenty-two studies were included in this review. The synthesis of findings identified two main themes and six sub-themes. KEY CONCLUSIONS: Asian fathers have a varied understanding of breastfeeding and their involvement in breastfeeding is influenced by personal, cultural, religious, social, and environmental factors. IMPLICATIONS FOR PRACTICE: Perinatal care professionals play a crucial role in engaging and enhancing fathers' involvement in breastfeeding education programmes. The findings also urge policymakers to introduce more 'father-friendly' breastfeeding guidelines and educate perinatal care professionals to be more aware and sensitive to the needs of fathers. There is also a need to introduce more flexible and economically sensitive paternal leave policies to improve fathers' breastfeeding involvement.

Domestic violence against men poses a significant threat to men's health and well-being and is increasingly being recognized as a public health issue. Unfortunately, men who are victims often struggle to disclose and report their abusive experiences. This review aims to examine and consolidate the evidence regarding the barriers to and facilitators of help-seeking behaviors of men who suffered from women-perpetrated domestic violence. A mixed-studies review was conducted using the Joanna Briggs Institute approach. Nine electronic databases were searched from each database's inception until January 2023. The 23 included studies were appraised using the Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool, and their findings were synthesized using the Joanna Briggs Institute convergent qualitative synthesis method. An overarching theme, "Stuck in a loop and finding ways to move on," which encapsulated the predicament of victimized men in abusive relationships, was identified along with three main themes. Overall, a gender-biased perspective of domestic violence, personal fears, and familial factors hindered victimized men from reporting violence and seeking help. A multi-faceted approach-consisting of public education campaigns, sensitizing, and training help professionals, engendering "safe" environments, developing men-specific assessments, and reforming social and legal-justice processes-is needed to effectively address the gender-specific challenges faced by men who are victims of domestic violence and break the cycle of abuse, and improve formal and informal help-seeking in men who are victims of domestic abuse.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: To examine and consolidate literature on the experiences and decision-making of parents following a screen positive result for a potential fetal anomaly and/or diagnosis of an actual anomaly in a previous pregnancy. BACKGROUND: Prenatal screening consists of any diagnostic modality that is aimed at acquiring information about a fetus or an embryo; however, the entire process is highly stressful for parents, especially if there was a previous screen positive result, but no abnormality was detected in the final result. METHODS: Eight electronic databases (PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, Scopus, Web of Science, ProQuest Theses and Dissertations and ClinicalTrials.gov) were searched from each database's inception until February 2022. This scoping review was guided by Arksey and O'Malley's framework and was reported in accordance with the PRISMA-ScR checklist. Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis framework was utilised. RESULTS: Thirty-one studies were eligible for inclusion. Two main themes (reliving the fear while maintaining hope, and bridging the past and future pregnancies) and six subthemes were identified. CONCLUSIONS: A fetal anomaly diagnosis in pregnancy had a mixed impact on the attitudes of parents toward a future pregnancy. Some parents were fearful of reliving a traumatic experience, while others were determined to have a healthy child and grow their family. Parents generally expressed a greater preference for non-invasive over invasive prenatal testing due to the procedural risks involved. RELEVANCE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE: There is a need for healthcare professionals to provide psychosocial and emotional support to parents so that they can achieve resolution for their previous pregnancy. Healthcare professionals' ability to provide informational support also enables these parents to make informed decision and understand their reproductive outcomes. Additionally, healthcare administration and policymakers should reconsider current neonatal or pregnancy loss bereavement guidelines to improve the inclusivity of fathers. Parents raising children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) experience greater family, health, and psychosocial dysfunction due to the compounding nature of children's NDD and disease manifestations. Furthermore, the experiences of fathers and mothers are significantly different, and there is a paucity of consolidated evidence on fathers' experiences. A systematic review and meta-synthesis were conducted using Sandelowski and Barroso's approach. Six electronic databases were searched for relevant articles published between November 2011 and November 2021. Thirty-eight studies were included in this review. An overarching theme "Out of the Shadows, and Into the Sunshine" emerged along with four main themes: (a) "The Illness Is All the Time": An Overwhelming Experience, (b) "Navigating health care and Education Systems," (c) "Strong Alone, Stronger Together," and (d) "My Child Is Different Not Less: A Different Perspective." This meta-synthesis analyzed the facilitators and barriers married fathers of children with NDD faced and suggested a paradigm shift where these fathers are becoming more actively involved in the care of their children. There is a need for family clinicians and therapists and health care, education, and workforce policymakers to collaborate to tackle the current and potential unique barriers faced by fathers of children with NDD.

Single-parent families led by fathers are an increasing demographic globally, Furthermore, single fatherhood is associated with poorer self-reported health and mental health, lifestyle practices and habits, increased health complications, psychological symptoms, hospital admissions, and higher mortality. However, there is still a dearth of evidence exploring single fathers' experiences. A systematic review and meta-synthesis were conducted using Sandelowski and Barroso's approach. Six electronic databases were searched from each database's inception to December 2021, and 34 studies were included in this review. In total, six themes were synthesized: (i) "Doing it alone": Double the work, stress, and tears; (ii) Beyond ambivalence and towards stability, (iii) Walking into the lion's den; (iv) Education as a foundation for a better future; (v) "Single but not alone": Support systems; (vi) "Reconceptualising my predicament": Double the love and growth. Our findings suggest the need to: help fathers better navigate their relationships with their children and ex-partners, increased awareness and availability of parent-teaching and support programs, and reform guidelines and policies to enable greater participation and involvement of fathers in future judicial systems, and social and public assistance services.

AIM: To consolidate the evidence around the experiences of nursing undergraduates and faculty members navigating through remote and online education during the COVID-19 pandemic. BACKGROUND: The Coronavirus disease 2019 caused by the SARS-CoV-2 Virus (COVID-19) has placed massive pressure on healthcare, economic and education systems globally. Restrictive social distancing policies and public health measures necessitated educational institutions to switch from face-to-face to remote and online education to sustain the learning process. These changes have created an uncertain path and undue stress for healthcare learners and faculty, especially for professional roles that traditionally require more hands-on and access to clinical practice particularly pre-licensure nursing students. As such, there is an urgent need to consolidate evidence on the experiences of nursing undergraduates and faculty members as they navigate the rapid transition from face-to-face to remote and online education to ensure continuity of learning in achieving optimal learning outcomes and to support them during current and future public health crises. DESIGN: A systematic review and meta-synthesis of the qualitative literature was undertaken using Sandelowski and Barroso's approach. METHODS: Six electronic databases, CINAHL, Embase, ERIC, PsycINFO, PubMed and Scopus, were searched systematically using the eligibility criteria from December 2019 to September 2022. The Critical Appraisal Skills Program checklist for qualitative studies was used to conduct the critical appraisal of the selected articles. RESULTS: Forty-seven studies were included in this review, which encapsulates the experiences of 3052 undergraduates and 241 faculty members. An overarching meta-theme 'Remote and online education: a rollercoaster ride', emerged along with three main meta-themes: (1) Transition to remote and online education: A turbulent road, (2) Acceptance of the untravelled road, (3) Hopes and recommendations for the road ahead. CONCLUSION: To improve nursing undergraduates' and faculty member's navigation of remote and online education, more institutions should move towards establishing hybrid education as the new 'normal' and exercise prudence in the organisation and delivery of curriculum, teaching, well-being and clinical attachment contingencies of their healthcare courses.
