RESUMEN

There are many patterns of microcalcification in mammography. Distinguishing between these patterns can be challenging. A malignant cause needs to be assessed through further diagnostic workup. We present a case of a 36-year-old BRCA1 mutation carrier, presenting with a small mass containing calcification on her screening mammogram. A vacuum-assisted biopsy under tomosynthesis guidance was performed and demonstrated an intramammary lymph node showing prominent extracellular black pigment. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of tattoo pigment mimicking breast malignancy on mammography.

RESUMEN

This article presents the case of a 77-year old male who was found to have a prostate-symphyseal fistula with associated pubic symphysis osteomyelitis. He had a history of previous radiation for prostate cancer and two transurethral resections of the prostate. He was managed conservatively with long-term antibiotics and urinary diversion as he was a suboptimal surgical candidate. To our knowledge, this case report is the first reported successful conservative management of a prostate-symphyseal fistula.

RESUMEN

Contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) is a new technology in breast imaging and cancer detection. It has been shown to have a comparable performance to breast MRI. Currently, there is no independent BI-RADS lexicon available for CEM. This pictorial essay will demonstrate the use of breast MRI descriptors according to the BI-RADS breast MRI lexicon, to describe enhancement patterns for recombined CEM images. The authors recommend using enhancement pattern descriptors already in use for breast MRI when reporting CEM studies, to promote uniformity of interpretation and reporting.
