RESUMEN

The proposed classification system reflects the difference between the three population systems: unbuilt land, built-up land, and aquatic-semiaquatic communities. Two superorder groups--north and median--further divided into types were recognized in each of the systems. Most types are divided into subtypes, classes, and subclasses (and sometimes genera of the population). The estimation of the power and generality of the influence of environmental factors (their variability correlates with heterogeneity of the avian population) has demonstrated that forestation of the territory is most significant in the first half of summer on the western Siberian Plain. The composition of the forest-forming species and zoning are less affected. The influence of moisture and hydration is 2-3 times less significant; mesorelief is 4-5 times less significant; and productivity (feeding capacity) and anthropogenic influence are 7-9 times less significant.

RESUMEN

An examination of 109 patients after surgical treatment of wounds of the heart and pericardium were performed at late terms after treatment. It was found that good results had 53.2% of the patients, 12.8% of the patients had limited working capacity, 4.6% of the patients became invalids. Satisfactory and bad outcomes resulted from the development of consequences of the trauma and operation. Terms of the recovery of working capacity depended on the severity of the trauma, timeliness of treatment of complications, state of the functional reserves and adequate regimen of motor activity.

RESUMEN

Data on the species composition of fleas, their abundance and distribution on hosts and on territory are given. Changes in the species composition and abundance of fleas in the latitude and meridional directions are shown.

RESUMEN

Chronic experiments on semi-fistula dogs with temporal-isolated parts of the small bowel were made to study the rate of nitrogen, glucose, lipid, sodium, potassium, calcium and water absorption from protein enteral nutrition and nutritive mixtures prepared on its basis. It was established that a nutritive mixture based on 10% protein enteral nutrition with additives in the form of fatty emulsion and sodium chloride was quite suitable for transintestinal administration. The increase of the concentration of protein enteral nutrition administered transintestinally or its preliminary hydrolysis by gastric juice resulted in the enhancement of evacuatory function of the small bowel.

RESUMEN

A study was made of the food status of patients afflicted with carcinoma of the esophagus and cardia with metastasis to the esophagus and of the efficacy of the use of enteral nutrition and protein hydrolysates in addition to the basic nutrition. Altogether 79 patients were examined. They were distributed into 2 groups: the main and reference. The main group patients received enteral nutrition (60 to 200 g) and protein hydrolysate (30 to 70 g) in addition to the conventional hospital diet and occasional parcels. The reference group patients given neither enteral nutrition nor protein hydrolysate. Were examined for factual nutrition, anthropometric parameters, nitrogen balance, total urine nitrogen, basic metabolism, blood biochemistry and morphology. It has been shown that nutrition of this patients' group was inadequate with emphasis on high effectiveness of enteral nutrition and protein hydrolysates.

RESUMEN

A retrospective study of postoperative electrocardiographic and pulmonary hemodynamic changes in 145 patients operated on for isolated interventricular heart defects demonstrated that the ECG-documented reverse development of the hypertrophic process in the right and left ventricles was not always in evidence. Positive ECG developments were mostly observed within the first 2 years. Residual signs of the hypertrophic process persisted at further follow-up. Pathologic changes in the right ventricle are more flexible and regress rapidly following the operation. Indications for surgery should be established at least from the time of the onset of the first electrocardiographic signs of developing cardiac compensation.

RESUMEN

By correlating the functional classification of mitral stenosis proposed by A.N. Bakulev and E.A. Damir with the myocardial changes detected on the ECG in 282 patients operated on for mitral stenosis, it has been established that the hypertrophic process in the right ventricle at Stage IV of heart disease corresponds to the stage of wearing off and progressive cardiosclerosis. Heart disease of Stage III is associated with morphological alterations in the left atrium and the right ventricle of various severity. In developing a surgical classification of heart disease it is necessary to consider electrographically evident morphological changes in the heart.

RESUMEN

The article is based on the case records of 192 patients with acquired aortic stenosis and interpretation of the ECG of 187 patients. In this group, 143 patients underwent operation and 8 died in the period of their examination. The purpose of the examination consisted in determining whether or not the ECG could characterize the stage of the cardiac disease. Four types of electrocardiographic changes of the ventricular complex characteristic of left-ventricular hypertrophy were distinguished. On comparing clinical and electrocardiographic findings, no clear dependence was revealed between the clinical manifestations of the stenosis and the severity of the hypertrophic process in the muscle of the left ventricle according to the ECG data. The information gained by means of ECG is confirmed by the results of pathomorphological examination. The authors suggest a clinical classification of acquired aortic stenosis based on the function changes in the left-ventricular myocardium as determined from the ECG.
