RESUMEN

Hydrogen effect on semiconductivity and compositions of passive films formed on ferrite and austenite phases in a duplex stainless steel were investigated by current sensing atomic force microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It is demonstrated that hydrogen significantly increases the conductivity of passive film due to the increase of OH-/O2- ratio. The passive film on austenite has higher conductivity than that on ferrite after hydrogen charging due to more hydrogen in austenite. The presence of hydrogen causes an inversion of conductivity type of passive film from p-type to n-type, attributed to the chemical composition change.

RESUMEN

Objective: To evaluate the clinical application of ultra-wide-field fluorescein angiography in posterior and panuveitis patients. Methods: It's a prospective, observational case series study. A total of 82 eyes of 42 patients conformed to the research criteria of posterior and panuveitis. Clinical examinations, conventional fluorescein angiography and ultra-wide-field fluorescein angiograms were performed for each patient. The main outcome was the detection of peripheral retinal changes by ultra-wide-field fluorescein angiography, and how these changes influenced the evaluation and management of the disease. Results: There were 22 male and 20 female in the 42 patients. The mean age of the patients was (43±21) years. Twelve eyes (6 patients) were diagnosed as posterior uveitis, and 70 eyes (36 patients) as panuveitis. Clinical examinations and conventional fluorescein angiography detected active inflammation in 30 eyes (37%), while ultra-wide-field fluorescein angiography identified active inflammation in 48 eyes (59%). In these 18 additional eyes (22%) with active inflammation found by ultra-wide-field fluorescein angiography, non-perfusion area was observed in 4 eyes (5%) and neovascularization was observed in 1 eye (1%). By means of ultra-wide-field fluorescein angiography, a larger area of peripheral vessel leakage showed in 10 eyes (12%) which judged as active inflammation by conventional fluorescein angiography. Additional angiographic changes showed in 46%(21/45) of the eyes with clear etiology, while only in 19%(7/37) of the eyes without clear etiology. According to these findings, treatment strategies adjusted for 12 patients. Conclusions: Ultra-wide-field fluorescein angiography detected more peripheral retinal vascular pathology than conventional fluorescein angiography. The changes found in the periphery were important in the management of uveitis. (Chin J Ophthalmol, 2016, 52: 924-928).

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: We discussed the diagnostic value of joint detection of homocysteine (HCY) and red blood cell volume distribution width variable coefficient on acute myocardial infarction (AMI). PATIENTS AND METHODS: We collected 300 coronary heart disease cases, among which there were 121 cases of stenocardia, 65 cases of ischemic heart failure, and 114 cases of AMI at the Department of Cardiology of our hospital during the period from January 2012 to June 2013. At the same time, we took 100 normal physical examinees as the control group, used the full-automatic cell-analyzer and the immunization to measure HCY and red blood cell distribution width (RDW) CV respectively and analyze their value in diagnosing AMI. RESULTS: The differences among the four groups of HCY and RDW CV were statistically significant (p < 0.05). The HCY and RDW CV level in the AMI group were significantly higher than those of the other three groups (p < 0.05); the differences between the positive diagnosis rate of HCY, the RDW CV and their joint diagnosis in the AMI group were statistically significant (p < 0.05) while the differences between the positive diagnosis rate of HCY, the RDW CV and their joint diagnosis in the control group were not statistically significant (p > 0.05). The detection sensitivity and specificity of HCY alone were respectively 68.42% and 86.00% with those of the RDW CV alone being 64.91% and 84.00%. The joint detection sensitivity and specificity were 83.33% and 93.00%, statistically different (p < 0.05). The concordance rate, the positive predictive value and the negative predictive value were 87.85%, 93.14% and 83.04%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The HCY and RDW CV joint diagnosis of AMI had relatively high sensitivity, specificity, concordance rate, positive predictive value and negative predictive value.

RESUMEN

We report continuous-wave (CW) operation up to 20 °C of 1.5-µm wavelength npn-InGaAsP/InP multiple quantum well (MQW) transistor laser (TL) with a deep-ridge structure. With CW laser emission, the common emitter current gain of the device can be over 3.5, which is significantly larger than those of the previously reported long wavelength TLs. It is found that at low base current, the laser operation occurs on the first excited state of the MQWs. At high base current, however, the device shows stimulated emissions on the ground state transition. The trend is contrary to what has been observed in the GaAs based TLs and is explained by the change of carrier flow at different base currents.

RESUMEN

Using alpha-32P-dCTP labelled human papillomavirus type 16 DNA genome probe (cHPV 16 DNA, cloned and identified from a Chinese cervical invasive carcinoma), 3 HPV 16 genomic relative sequences were detected in 6 biopsies of laryngeal carcinoma. The results showed serious HPV infection in laryngeal carcinoma. This indicates that HPV infection may play an important pathogenetic role in cancer development.
