A rotor design of a Ram Air Turbine (RAT) for a commercial aircraft was created taking three sections with different airfoils along the blade; those sections were assessed to evaluate their performance at different critical velocities (41, 81 and 251 m/s) and choose the best profile configuration generating a new proposal to increase the glide ratio by reducing the drag, which is helpful in emergency cases. The Blade Element Momentum (BEM) theory and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) were used to analyze an initial design, then validating these results with the open software QBlade. For the BEM theory a program was created for the design and performance of the RAT adding the Viterna methodology for airfoil analysis. 16 designs were proposed by strategically interchanging wing profiles in different blade sections. These designs were analyzed by CFD, using the complete rotor and the S S T k - ω turbulence model. An optimal geometry was found, presenting a significant drag reduction of 25% generating an increase in the glide ratio and improving aircraft control in addition to maintaining the power generation above the desired values; therefore, it recommends using different airfoils for each section of a RAT's rotor blade.
RESUMEN
Acute pancreatitis (AP) and recurrent acute pancreatitis (RAP) are conditions, whose incidence is apparently on the rise. Despite the ever-increasing evidence regarding the management of AP in children and adults, therapeutic actions that could potentially affect having a poor prognosis in those patients, especially in the pediatric population, continue to be carried out. Therefore, the Asociación Mexicana de Gastroenterología convened a group of 24 expert pediatric gastroenterologists from different institutions and areas of Mexico, as well as 2 pediatric nutritionists and 2 specialists in pediatric surgery, to discuss different aspects of the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of AP and RAP in the pediatric population. The aim of this document is to present the consensus results. Different AP topics were addressed by 6 working groups, each of which reviewed the information and formulated statements considered pertinent for each module, on themes involving recommendations and points of debate, concerning diagnostic or therapeutic approaches. All the statements were presented and discussed. They were then evaluated through a Delphi process, with electronic and anonymous voting, to determine the level of agreement on the statements. A total of 29 statements were formulated, all of which reached above 75% agreement in the first round of voting.

In several montane forests around the world, epiphytes coexist in mats, sharing the rhizosphere and forming histosol-type soils rich in nutrients. The role of these epiphytes in the formation of canopy soil and the fitness costs that epiphytes face when cohabiting in these mats are unknown. In a lower montane cloud forest in central Veracruz, Mexico, a 2-year factorial experiment was carried out with the presence/absence of ramets of Phlebodium areolatum (Polypodiaceae), Tillandsia kirchhoffiana, T. multicaulis and T. punctulata (Bromeliaceae). We examined (i) which epiphyte species contribute to the formation of canopy soil, (ii) the role of epiphyte composition in the soil nutrient composition, and (iii) the fitness costs faced by epiphytes when cohabiting. Canopy soil formation highest when P. areolatum is present. Soil nutrient content does not change with epiphyte composition, is influenced by the microbiota, and P content decreases with the presence of epiphytes. The fitness costs show that the species compete, decreasing their survival and growth, but the competitive capacity differs between the species. We conclude that P. areolatum is an ecosystem engineer that promotes the creation of canopy soil but is a poor competitor. The results coincide with the model of succession by facilitation. Canopy soil is a slow-created component whose nutrient content does not depend on the epiphytic flora. In epiphyte mats, the dominant interactions are competitive, but there is also facilitation.

BACKGROUND: Leptospirosis is an infectious disease that affects humans and animals worldwide. The etiological agents of this disease are the pathogenic species of the genus Leptospira. The mechanisms involved in the leptospiral pathogenesis are not full understood. The elucidation of novel mediators of host-pathogen interaction is important in the detection of virulence factors involved in the pathogenesis of leptospirosis. OBJECTIVE: This work focused on identification and characterization of a hypothetical protein of Leptospira encoded by the gene LIC10920. METHODS: The protein of unknown function was predicted to be surface exposed. Therefore, the LIC10920 gene was cloned and the protein expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) Star pLysS strain. The recombinant protein was purified by metal affinity chromatography and evaluated with leptospirosis human serum samples. The interaction with host components was also performed. RESULTS: The recombinant protein was recognized by antibodies present in leptopsirosis human serum, suggesting its expression during infection. Immunofluorescence and intact bacteria assays indicated that the bacterial protein is surface-exposed. The recombinant protein interacted with human laminin, in a dose-dependent and saturable manner and was named Lsa24.9, for Leptospiral surface adhesin, followed by its molecular mass. Lsa24.9 also binds plasminogen (PLG) in a dose-dependent and saturable fashion, fulfilling receptor ligand interaction. Moreover, Lsa24.9 has the ability to acquire PLG from normal human serum, exhibiting similar profile as observed with the human purified component. PLG bound Lsa24.9 was able of generating plasmin, which could increase the proteolytic power of the bacteria. CONCLUSIONS: This novel leptospiral protein may function as an adhesin at the colonization steps and may help the invasion process by plasmin generation at the bacterial cell surface.

B cell-activating factor (BAFF) promotes the survival, proliferation and maturation of B lymphocytes, which are key elements in the pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). This cytokine is encoded on TNFSF13B gene, and diverse single-nucleotide polymorphisms have been associated with susceptibility in different autoimmune disorders. In this study, the relationship of TNFSF13B gene rs9514827T>C, rs1041567T>A and rs9514828C>T polymorphisms, mRNA expression and soluble BAFF levels was investigated in 175 SLE patients and 208 healthy controls (HC). The TNFSF13B polymorphisms were evaluated by PCR-RFLP technique. The TNFSF13B gene expression was quantified through the RT-PCR assays. The soluble BAFF (sBAFF) levels were measured with ELISA test. There were no differences in genotype and allele frequencies for the three TNFSF13B polymorphisms, between SLE patients and HC. SLE patients showed 3.15-fold more TNFSF13B gene expression than HC. The patients who displayed most mRNA expression were those with active disease and the carriers of rs9514828 T variant allele. The sBAFF serum levels were higher in SLE patients compared to HC (2.083 vs. 0.742 ng/mL, p < 0.001). The SLE patients with active disease showed the higher sBAFF serum levels (2.403 ng/mL), mainly patients with lupus nephritis and hematological manifestations. In addition, a correlation of sBAFF with disease activity was found (r = 0.32, p < 0.001). In conclusion, the TNFSF13B gene polymorphisms were not found to be associated with SLE susceptibility in Mexican mestizos. Nevertheless, rs9514828C>T polymorphism seems to increase TNFSF13B gene expression. High BAFF expression is related to active disease, renal and hematological involvement; therefore, it could be considered as follow-up biomarker in SLE patients.

The adequate formulation of topical vehicles to treat skin diseases is particularly complex. A desirable formulation should enhance the accumulation of the active drugs in the target tissue (the skin), while avoiding the penetration enhancement to be so large that the drugs reach the systemic circulation in toxic amounts. We have evaluated the transcutaneous penetration of three drugs chosen for their widely variable physicochemical properties: Amphotericin B, Imiquimod and Indole. We incorporated the drugs in fluid or ultra-flexible liposomes. Ultra-flexible liposomes produced enhancement of drug penetration into/through human skin in all cases in comparison with fluid liposomes without detergent, regardless of drug molecular weight. At the same time, our results indicate that liposomes can impede the transcutaneous penetration of molecules, in particular small ones.

Diarrhoeagenic Escherichia coli (DEC) is a leading cause of infectious diarrhoea worldwide. In recent years, Escherichia albertii has also been implicated as a cause of human enteric diseases. This study describes the occurrence of E. coli pathotypes and serotypes associated with enteric illness and haemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) isolated in Brazil from 2011 to 2016. Pathotypes isolated included enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC), enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC), enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC), enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC) and Shiga toxin-producing E. coli (STEC). PCR of stool enrichments for DEC pathotypes was employed, and E. albertii was also sought. O:H serotyping was performed on all DEC isolates. A total of 683 DEC and 10 E. albertii strains were isolated from 5047 clinical samples. The frequencies of DEC pathotypes were 52.6% (359/683) for EPEC, 32.5% for EAEC, 6.3% for ETEC, 4.4% for EIEC and 4.2% for STEC. DEC strains occurred in patients from 3 months to 96 years old, but EPEC, EAEC and STEC were most prevalent among children. Both typical and atypical isolates of EPEC and EAEC were recovered and presented great serotype heterogeneity. HUS cases were only associated with STEC serotype O157:H7. Two E. albertii isolates belonged to serogroup O113 and one had the stx2f gene. The higher prevalence of atypical EPEC in relation to EAEC in community-acquired diarrhoea in Brazil suggests a shift in the trend of DEC pathotypes circulation as previously EAEC predominated. This is the first report of E. albertii isolation from active surveillance. These results highlight the need of continuing DEC and E. albertii surveillance, as a mean to detect changes in the pattern of pathotypes and serotypes circulation and provide useful information for intervention and control strategies.

This study was conducted to develop a selective medium for the detection of Leptospira spp. in clinical samples. Serovars of Leptospira spp., environmental bacteria and the fungus from contaminated cultures of patients with suspected leptospirosis were inoculated into EMJH medium containing amphotericin B, 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), furazolidone and neomycin used singly or combined. Medium with 5-FU at the concentration of 200 µg ml-1 did not show any inhibitory effect against the fungus, Gram-negative bacilli and any of the leptospira strains except serovar Pyrogenes. The highest concentration of neomycin and furazolidone that did not inhibit the growth of leptospires was 4 µg ml-1 . All strains of Leptospira spp. grew on 5-FU (100 µg ml-1 ) in combination with neomycin (4 µg ml-1 ) and on 5-FU (100 µg ml-1 ) in combination with furazolidone (4 µg ml-1 ). The highest concentration of amphotericin B (500 µg ml-1 ) that inhibited the growth of the fungus also inhibited the bacteria and most of serovars of Leptospira spp. The most effective antibiotic combinations that inhibited the majority of environmental bacteria growth without affecting leptospiral growth were EMJH with 5-FU (100 µg ml-1 ) in combination with neomycin (4 µg ml-1 ). In conclusion, these findings will help the development of new selective media to isolate leptospires. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY: Leptospirosis is one of the most widespread zoonotic diseases in the world. Since certain serovars are often associated with the symptoms and severity of the disease, the isolation and identification of the leptospires usually permits the prediction of sources of infection. Attempts to isolate Leptospira spp. from clinical specimens are often frustrated by overgrowth of the slow-growing bacteria by more rapidly growing contaminants. In this study, we evaluated selective agents to develop a new selective medium to isolate leptospires. The results demonstrated that the association of drugs in concentrations that allowed the growth of leptospires is to be more effective in inhibiting bacterial contaminants.

El cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) es nativo de América del Sur y representa uno de los recursos «bioculturales¼ más significativos de Mesoamérica, ya que es una región donde se domesticó y tuvo relevancia como bebida ritual y como moneda en muchas culturas prehispánicas hasta la llegada de los españoles, quienes difundieron su uso en el mundo y lo convirtieron en una de las mercancías «commodity¼ más consumidas. Mediante este trabajo se propone una alternativa para atender la problemática de las plantaciones a través de la introducción de una diversidad amplia de cultivares de cacao en sistemas agroforestales tradicionales, en sinergia con la inoculación de bacterias edáficas fijadoras de nitrógeno y solubilizadoras de fósforo insoluble. En una parcela agroforestal tradicional se introdujeron plantas de cacao injertadas de cuatro cultivares y se dispusieron 3 tratamientos: aplicación de biofertilizante, aplicación de fertilizante químico y testigo. Se registraron la altura, el diámetro basal, el número de hojas y el número de ramas a los 2 y 12 meses, y se caracterizó la población de microorganismos asociada alrededor del tallo bajo la copa de las plantas. Los resultados de crecimiento muestran un buen potencial para los 4 cultivares estudiados y se observó que la biofertilización generó efectos significativos en algunos de los indicadores de crecimiento de las plantas de cacao. Así, las asociaciones vegetales en un sistema agroforestal podrían ser favorables para potenciar el desarrollo de frutos y resistencia a plagas y enfermedades.

Measurements of height, stem diameter, number of leaves and branches were recorded at 2 and 12 months after planting and rhizosphere microbial populations were characterized. Growth results showed good potential for all studied cultivars and it was observed that biofertilization foresees significant effects in some of the growth indicators of cocoa plant. Thereby, plant associations in an agroforestry system could be favorable to promote fruit development and resistance to pests and diseases.

Ovarian failure is related to dyslipidemias and inflammation, as well as to hypertrophy and dysfunction of the visceral adipose tissue (VAT). Although hypothyroidism has been associated with obesity, dyslipidemias, and inflammation in humans and animals, its influence on the characteristics of ovarian follicles in adulthood is scarcely known. Control and hypothyroid rabbits were used to analyze the ovarian follicles, expression of aromatase in the ovary, serum concentration of lipids, leptin, and uric acid, size of adipocytes, and infiltration of macrophages in the periovarian VAT. Hypothyroidism did not affect the percentage of functional or atretic follicles. However, it reduced the size of primary, secondary, and tertiary follicles considered as large and the expression of aromatase in the ovary. This effect was associated with high serum concentrations of total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). In addition, hypothyroidism induced hypertrophy of adipocytes and a major infiltration of CD68+ macrophages into the periovarian VAT. Our results suggest that the reduced size of ovarian follicles promoted by hypothyroidism could be associated with dyslipidemias, hypertrophy, and inflammation of the periovarian VAT. Present findings may be useful to understand the influence of hypothyroidism in the ovary function in adulthood.

INTRODUCTION: The appearance of patellofemoral pain after a knee arthroplasty, particularly in rheumatic diseases, resulted in the incorporation of the substitution of the patellar component in all designs. The replacement of the patella became a standard part of knee arthroplasty, but the controversy over whether to restore it or not continues among orthopedists that perform knee arthroplasties. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the incidence of anterior knee pain in patients who underwent primary knee arthroplasty with or without replacement of the patellar component. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Observational, retrospective, descriptive and transversal study from January 2011 to December 2013. RESULTS: A total of 54 patients were included, 12 men (with an average age of 63 years) and 42 women (with an average age of 71 years), totaling 64 knees that were surgically intervened. CONCLUSION: This study found no significant difference in anterior knee pain and in the function of the patellofemoral joint and the knee in the groups of patients who were tested with the different scales.
La aparición de dolor patelofemoral postoperatorio en la artroplastía de rodilla, sobre todo en pacientes reumáticos, resultó en la incorporación de la sustitución del componente patelar en la mayoría de los diseños. Esta se convirtió en una parte estándar de la artroplastía total de rodilla; la controversia sobre si restituir o no el componente patelar continúa siendo debatida por los cirujanos ortopedistas que realizan artroplastías de rodilla.

Interleukin 10 (IL-10) is an immunoregulatory cytokine with multiple roles in the immune system. Three single nucleotide polymorphisms at positions -1082 (A>G), -819 (C>T), and -592 (C>A) in the promoter region of the IL10 gene are believed to be associated with different inflammatory, infectious, and autoimmune diseases. These polymorphisms exhibit a strong linkage disequilibrium (LD) and form three principal haplotypes (GCC, ACC, and ATA). The GCC and ATA haplotypes have been associated with high and low levels of IL-10 production, respectively. The aim of this study was to establish the allele and haplotype frequencies of the IL10 polymorphisms in Mestizos from western Mexico. SNPs were analyzed in 340 healthy unrelated Mestizos from western Mexico by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism. The studied population presented significant differences, in the distribution of IL10 polymorphisms, from the Asian, African, and European populations. We also observed a strong LD within -1082 A>G, -819 C>T, and -592 C>A (100% pc = 7.735 x 10-18). The haplotypes ACC (45.4%), ATA (22.0%), GTA (14.9%), and GCC (13.9%) were most frequently observed in this population. The haplotype frequencies, however, differed from those reported previously in Mestizos from central Mexico, Asians, Africans, and European Caucasians, suggesting a differential gene flow in the Mexican Mestizo population. This could account for the genetic variability between Mexicans and populations of other ethnicities. The study of these polymorphisms and their haplotypes could help in expanding our knowledge to design future disease-risk studies on the western Mexican population.

Primary Sjögren's syndrome is an autoimmune disease affecting the function of exocrine glands. Tumor necrosis factor receptor-1 (TNFR1) is involved in apoptosis through extrinsic pathway initiation. The level of soluble TNFR1 is reported increased in rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and primary Sjögren's syndrome patients. The TNFR1 gene contains a polymorphism that replaced an adenine with a cytosine at the -383 in promoter region position. The TNFR1-383 AËC polymorphism has been associated with rheumatic diseases. We examined the association between the TNFR1-383 AËC polymorphism and TNFR1 soluble (sTNFR1) levels and laboratory and clinical characteristics in primary Sjögren's syndrome patients. Eighty-two patients with primary Sjögren's syndrome classified using the American-European criteria and 84 healthy subjects were studied. Sjögren's Syndrome Disease Activity Index (SSDAI) and Sjögren's Syndrome Disease Damage Index were performed for all patients. Genotypic and allelic frequencies were similar in both groups (P = 0.317 and P = 0.329, respectively). sTNFR1 levels were similar in patients and healthy subjects (P = 0.051). High levels of C-reactive protein (P = 0.045) and rheumatoid factor (P = 0.040) in patients with the AËC genotype were observed. In these patients, the SSDAI score was higher than in AËA genotype carriers (P = 0.045). This is the first study that to examine the TNFR1-383 AËC polymorphism in primary Sjögren's syndrome patients. Clinical parameters and SSDAI index were associated in AËC genotype carriers. However, further studies with a larger sample are necessary to verify the association between primary Sjögren's syndrome and the TNFR1-383 AËC polymorphism.

Resumen: Introducción: La aparición de dolor patelofemoral postoperatorio en la artroplastía de rodilla, sobre todo en pacientes reumáticos, resultó en la incorporación de la sustitución del componente patelar en la mayoría de los diseños. Esta se convirtió en una parte estándar de la artroplastía total de rodilla; la controversia sobre si restituir o no el componente patelar continúa siendo debatida por los cirujanos ortopedistas que realizan artroplastías de rodilla. Objetivo: Realizar un análisis de la incidencia de dolor anterior de rodilla en pacientes sometidos a artroplastía primaria de rodilla con o sin remplazo del componente patelar. Material y métodos: Estudio observacional, retrospectivo, descriptivo y transversal de Enero de 2011 a Diciembre de 2013. Resultados: 54 individuos, 12 hombres (con un promedio de edad de 63 años) y 42 mujeres (con un promedio de edad de 71 años), que dieron un total de 64 rodillas intervenidas quirúrgicamente. Conclusión: No se encontró diferencia significativa en cuanto al dolor anterior de rodilla, en la función de la articulación patelofemoral y de la rodilla en los grupos de sujetos que fueron analizados con las diferentes escalas.
Abstract: Introduction: The appearance of patellofemoral pain after a knee arthroplasty, particularly in rheumatic diseases, resulted in the incorporation of the substitution of the patellar component in all designs. The replacement of the patella became a standard part of knee arthroplasty, but the controversy over whether to restore it or not continues among orthopedists that perform knee arthroplasties. Objective: To analyze the incidence of anterior knee pain in patients who underwent primary knee arthroplasty with or without replacement of the patellar component. Material and methods: Observational, retrospective, descriptive and transversal study from January 2011 to December 2013. Results: A total of 54 patients were included, 12 men (with an average age of 63 years) and 42 women (with an average age of 71 years), totaling 64 knees that were surgically intervened. Conclusion: This study found no significant difference in anterior knee pain and in the function of the patellofemoral joint and the knee in the groups of patients who were tested with the different scales.

BACKGROUND: Chronic diseases have become a main cause of morbidity and mortality provoking function loss in organs. Quality of life is poor and expensive with replacement therapy. Transplantation offers a higher survival rate and a better life; however, the donation rate in Mexico is low, making it important to know the opinion of the population. METHODS: Six hundred forty-two people in Guanajuato, Mexico, (>15 years old) were enrolled. Demographic characteristics, education, religion, organ donation, and transplantation attitudes were evaluated. RESULTS: Donation attitudes in life or death were: very willing to donation (82.8% vs 61.5%), refuse to donate (12.7% vs 29.4%), and undecided (4.5% vs 9.1%). Reasons for donation were: altruism (63%), being useful to someone (28.6%), and empathy (7.1%). Negative causes were: personal beliefs (35.6%), fear (23.7%), and ignorance or "I don't know the recipient" (18.5%). Finally, 94.5% of the population is willing to receive a transplant if they need it. CONCLUSIONS: Guanajuato has a high tendency to donate their own organs, but less to donate from a family member. Refusal to donate has originated from lack/misinformation that people received from health professionals. Although most people are willing to donate, this is not reflected in donation rates. To be able to make this intention reality, we must create educational models for health care personnel that will allow them to transmit proper information to the population.

West Nile virus (WNV) is a mosquito-borne neurotropic viral pathogen maintained in an enzootic cycle between mosquitoes (vectors) and birds (natural hosts) with equids, humans, and other vertebrates acting as dead-end hosts. WNV activity in Mexico has been reported in several domestic and wild fauna and in humans, and the virus has been isolated from birds, mosquitoes, and humans. However, no serological studies have been conducted in monkeys, and only two in a limited number of crocodiles (Crocodylus moreletii). Here we present data on the prevalence of neutralizing antibodies against WNV in 53 healthy wild monkeys (49 Ateles geoffroyi and four Alouatta pigra), and 80 semi-captive healthy crocodiles (60 C. acutus and 20 C. acutus-C. moreletti hybrids) sampled during 2012. None of the monkey sera neutralized WNV, whereas 55% of the crocodile sera presented neutralizing antibodies against WNV. These results can contribute to the design of surveillance programmes in Mexico.

Internal dosimetry intercomparisons are essential for the verification of applied models and the consistency of results'. To that aim, the First Regional Intercomparison was organised in 2005, and that results led to the Second Regional Intercomparison Exercise in 2013, which was organised in the frame of the RLA 9/066 and coordinated by Autoridad Regulatoria Nuclear of Argentina. Four simulated cases covering intakes of (131)I, (137)Cs and Tritium were proposed. Ninteen centres from thirteen different countries participated in this exercise. This paper analyses the participants' results in this second exercise in order to test their skills and acquired knowledge, particularly in the application of the IDEAS Guidelines. It is important to highlight the increased number of countries that participated in this exercise compared with the first one and, furthermore, the improvement in the overall performance. The impact of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Projects since 2003 has led to a significant enhancement of internal dosimetry capabilities that strengthen the radiation protection of workers.

La resorción radicular externa invasiva es una patología poco frecuente, de difícil manejo en etapas avanzadas por su ubicación debajo de la unión amelocementaria, y que generalmente presenta sintomatología cuando hay compromiso pulpar o cuando la patología llega a niveles periapicales. Se han descrito diferentes causas para este tipo de lesión, pero en algunos casos su etiología es idiopática. El tratamiento depende de la extensión de la lesión y de cada caso en particular. El caso reportado describe a un paciente masculino de 30 años de edad, sin antecedentes sistémicos, con historia odontológica de cinco años de tratamiento ortodóncico, que presentó resorción externa profunda invasiva por palatino de un central superior derecho. Por medio quirúrgico se le realizó el tratamiento endodóntico y el manejo de la resorción, sellando la cavidad con dos materiales reconstructivos y MTA. A pesar de tener un pronóstico reservado es una alternativa de tratamiento para este tipo de patologías que va a depender de su evolución, cuidados y controles postoperatorios. El uso de la tomografía computarizada de haz cónico (TCHC) fue fundamental para un óptimo diagnóstico, y una planeación adecuada del tratamiento. (AU)
Invasive external root resorption is a rare pathology, difficult to manage in advanced stages due to its location under the cement enamel junction and which usually has symptoms when there is commitment to pulp or when the disease reaches periapical levels. Diffe-rent causes have been described, but in some cases its etiology is idiopathic.Treatment depends on the extent of the injury, and each particular case. The case report describes to a 30 year old male patient, without a systemic precedents, dental history of five years of orthodontic treatment, that presented invasive deep external resorption palatally of a rigth upper central incisor. By surgical means was performed treatment endodontic and handling of resorption, sealing the cavity with two reconstructive materials and MTA. In spite of having a poor prognosis is an alternative treatment for this type of pathology that is going to depend on their evolution, care and postoperative controls. The use of cone-beam computed tomography (TCHC) was essential for optimal diagnosis and adequate treatment planning. (AU)
