RESUMEN

We expose a new case of prostatic blue nevus. The existing confusion in the terminology of the prostate pigmentarias injuries in reviewed literature is commented and we concluded, based on the opinion of most of authors, with a possible unification of creteries the same ones.

Taken together the results of this work indicate that 1st) The countertransport systems, [Na+]i-[Ca2+]o or [Li+]i-[Ca2+]o are implicated on the catecholamine secretory response evoked by ouabaine and lithium in the cat adrenal medulla. 2nd) Both procedures (ouabain, or lithium) induce an increment of cytosolic [Ca2+]i, secundary to the accumulation of monavalents cations (Na+ or Li+) in the cytosol, which is finally responsible for the catecholamine secretory response and 3rd) In addition to [Na+]i-[Ca2+]o or [Li+]i-[Ca2+]o counter transport systems, either Na+ or Li+ could depolarize the cell and therefore activate voltage-dependent Ca2+, and possibly Na+ channels leading to further increments of [Ca2+]i.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the clinical and urodynamic data of a multicenter study on female urinary stress incontinence undergoing surgical repair with the Ramírez simplified urethropexy. METHODS: Clinical, urodynamic and videocystographic data were analyzed in a multicenter series of 340 female patients with urinary stress incontinence (mean age 51.7 +/- 9.7 years) before and after the Ramírez urethropexy technique (mean follow-up 21.7 months). RESULTS: Post surgical urinary continence was 78.4%. Cystocele repair was demonstrated in 57.7%. Urge incontinence decreased in 17.1%. Daytime frequency statistically significantly decreased in 19%. Urinary obstructive symptoms increased in 19.3%. Bladder instability significantly decreased posturethropexy. Peak urinary flow rate and mean urinary flow rate diminished in 65% and 59%, respectively. Postvoiding residual urine increased significantly. No statistical correlation between posturethropexy continence and videocystographic bladder neck morphology was observed. CONCLUSIONS: The clinical and urodynamic data obtained in our series indicate that the Ramírez urethropexy technique, a simple and fast procedure, may be considered an alternative treatment in female urinary stress incontinence.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: To determine the reliability of the postvoiding volume measurement of two US methods. METHODS: A comparative study of transabdominal and portable ultrasound (Bladderscan model) in the selected and non-selected modes was conducted in 96 patients (54 males, 42 females; mean age 59.92 yrs). RESULTS: Conventional US had the lowest failure rate (26.99%). The failure rate was 41.66% for the selected mode and 57.77% for the non-selected mode. The main failure of transabdominal ultrasound was a defect failure. The non-selected mode had a defect and excess failure. The selected mode had a defect failure. There was and inverse relationship between the residual volume and the failure rate of the non-selected mode of the Bladderscan model. The failure rate was higher for males vs females in the non-selected mode. The possible sources of failure are analyzed. CONCLUSION: Conventional transabdominal ultrasound is currently the most reliable ultrasound method.

RESUMEN

The hemangiopericytoma is an uncommon variety of the mesenchymal tumour derived from pericapillary structures, most frequently located in limbs and exceptionally at the retroperitoneum level. Although macroscopically the aspect is benign, this tumour has a recognised ability for local invasion and distant dissemination.
