RESUMEN

The article is a brief description of the current state of Lithuanian Armed Forces medical service and is based on the study of the open access foreign sources. At the beginning, the general information about Lithuania, its Armed Forces, and their, medical service is presented. Then the medical service particular features are described, with more detail, namely, the organization of the inpatient and outpatient treatment, medical supply, scientific research, combat medicine, medical staff education and training, medical service personnel income.

RESUMEN

Formation of the scientific potential and development of advanced medical equipment samples is one of the priorities for the development ofRussian military medicine. However, the main problem of innovation implementation into the daily routine of medical units formations and military units, as well as military and medical organizations is that the above mentioned innovation is not fully studied. The article defines the main ways of innovation development of technical equipment of military medicine, shows the characteristics of the most advanced models of medical equipment, as well as recommendations for their use to improve the efficiency of medical support of troops (forces) in modern conditions.

RESUMEN

The current article is dedicated to the problem of scientific research organization in the field of combat medical robots development in the US Armed Forces. The role of the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center is singled out. The project A Robotic System for Wounded Patient Extraction and Evacuation from Hostile Environments is described in more detail. It is noted the high cost of such technical systems development and operation.

RESUMEN

The articale is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of famous domestic scientist in the area of military-medical geography, organization of health care and pedagogy, laureate of USSR state prize, Ph.D.Med, professor colonel of medical service Aleksei Alekseevich Shoshin (1913-1978). In 1953 he published his study guide "Short course in military-medical geography" and determined aims and tasks of course, clued peculiarities of the influence of physiographic conditions on health, sanitary status and medical support of the forces; gave military medical-geographic characteristics of the main landscape zones and methodology of territory research for possible unit sites. In 1962 AN USSR Publisher published his monograph "Principle of medical geography". In 1964 was published his book "Military-medical geography". In January 1966 A.A.Shoshin was elected as Head of social hygiene and public health organization Chair of the Leningrad pediatric medical institute. He chaired till the end of his life.

RESUMEN

The present article is the last part of the review dedicated to organization and management of medical research in the US Armed Forces. The first through fourth parts were published in the previous issues of the journal. Specifically this article is dedicated to organization and management of medical research in the US Air Force and Coast Guard. It is shown that in the US Air Force the medical research is conducted in the Air Force Research Laboratory and in the US Coast Guard--in its Research and Development Center. The particular research programs conducted in the above mentioned units are discussed.

RESUMEN

The present article is the fourth part of the review dedicated to organization and management of medical research in the US Armed Forces. The first, second and the third parts were published in the previous issues of the journal. Specifically this article is dedicated to organization and management of medical research in the US Navy. It is shown that in the US Navy the fundamental and a part of applied investigations are conducted in the Office of Naval Research while more practical research is carried out at the Naval Medical Research Center. The latter includes the Naval Health Research Center, the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory and seven Naval Medical Research Units which are successively presented. The particular research programs conducted in the above mentioned organizations are discussed.

RESUMEN

The present review is dedicated to organization and management of medical research in the US Armed Forces. At the beginning of the review a brief description of the US Armed Forces and their medical services is presented. Then.the main research organizations are successively presented: in the first part--from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, in the second--from the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, in the third through fifth--from the US Army, US Navy, US Air Force and US Coast Guard. In conclusion the current state of the US Armed Forces scientific research is appraised.

The US Army. The present article is the third part of the review dedicated to organization and management of medical research in the US Armed Forces. It is shown that in the US Army the medical and biological research is conducted and coordinated by the special US Army Medical Research and Materiel Command. The following units are successively presented: US Army Institute of Surgical Research, US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense, US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine, Walter Reed Army Institute of Research, US Army Aeromedical Research Laboratory, Armed Forces Institute of Regenerative Medicine. The particular research programs conducting in the above mentioned institutions are presented.

During the organization of the medical evacuation of the outfits in highlands it is necessary to consider that the workability of the stretchermen in highland goes down to 50% and more; equipment of the aid man must corresponds to the conditions of the highlands (immobilize vacuum mattress--IVMv-01, collapsible immobilize pinion stretchers--IPS-01); application of the wheel-type machines and helicopters is difficult and dangerously. Application of the modern techniques of informational support, unmanned drones and others modern techniques requires the output of new organization principles of the system of the medical evacuation in highlands.

RESUMEN

The article presents several technologies, providing accumulation? Performance and expansion of information in units of medical service of tactic level in the Armed forces of RF. In the course of specially-tactic military training exercise on the territory "Border-2008", which was realized on the base of training center of MMA by S. M. Kirov (Krasnoe Selo), were effectuated several experiments on the theme of analyzing of capabilities of using of satellite systems of position location, pilotless aircrafts and telecommunications systems of connection in aid of vedical service of the Armed Forces of RF. This work has shown the capability of realizing of high quality satellite video-connection for telemedical session between phases of medical evacuation in military-field conditions with capability of operative deployment without especially given wire communications capabilities.
