RESUMEN

The article is devoted to the problem of completed suicides among veterans of the Joint Forces for National Securityand Defense operation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions (JFO) and liquidators of the consequences of the Chornobylaccident (LCCA). The results of the analysis of surveys of families and close associates of JFO veterans who committed a completed suicide in the period 2014-2019 are presented. The survey was conducted as part of criminal proceedings initiated on the facts of suicide. OBJECTIVE: to analyze the current dynamics of suicidal behavior in veterans of JFO and the impact of psychosocialfactors on its development and compare with the relevant indicators among LCCA at the Chornobyl nuclear powerplant. MATERIALS AND METHODS: 175 questionnaires are presented, socio-demographic characteristics are compiled and psychosocial factors that influenced the development of suicidal behavior in environmental protection veterans areidentified. An analysis of the status of such studies among liquidators of the Chornobyl accidents. RESULTS: the data analysis of suicidal behavior in veterans of environmental protection, the impact on its development of psychosocial factors and comparison with the indicators among LCCA at the Chornobyl Nuclear PowerPlant. CONCLUSIONS: The results of the study show that in emergency situations, mostly men from all regions of the country, both professional servicemen and civilians, are involved in its elimination. It has been proven that while performing their official duties, the veterans of JFO and LCCA at the Chornobyl nuclear power plant experienced mental stress. But most of them, returning home, did not seek medical treatment, prevent the development of diseasesand their complications and remained for a long time without proper medical, social and psychological care.

RESUMEN

The peculiarities of cytokines as compounds of immunogenesis are shown in the patients having acute (A) and chronic (Ch) pyelonephritis (PN). The combination of antibacterial therapy with Nukleinat and Galavit promotes the positive changes of cytokin-producing ability of immunocompetent cells and decrease in the level of proinflammation cytokines in blood and urine, secretory leucocyte protease inhibitor (SLPI) in urine. In children with PN and adult patients with diagnostically elevated titres of antibodies (IgG) to Herpes simplex virus, Cytomegalovirus are shown the positive effects of Kanephron® H and Proteflazidum, accordingly. Clinico-immunological effects of immunomodulators testify to the expediency of this usage in complex therapy with the aim to modulate the cytokine link of immunity for improvement of the effective treatment in APN and the protection against aggravation of kidney functioning in ChPN.

RESUMEN

The antiinflammatory cytokines participate in antiinfective immunity, that is why it is advisable to study their peculiarities in determination of the role in immunologic pathogenesis of pyelonephritis. Of the work is to study the levels of pro-inflammatory blood cytokines in the patients with pyelonephritis (PN), to determine the peculiarities in acute and chronic its course in children and adults. The immuno-enzymic method ELISA and the corresponding test-systems were used to study the levels of cytokines in blood. There were studied the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF, MCP and IL-23) in blood serum of patients with acute (APN) and chronic (CPN) pyelonephritis. The analysis showed the reliable increase in levels of all studied findings in both forms of PN--both in all 173 patients and in every group--children (87) and adults (86). The MCP-1 levels in APN are reliably higher than in CPN, while in TNF-b and IL-23--do not differ. The levels of all three cytokines in blood of adults were higher than in children in APN, but TNF--in CPN as well. The high level of TNF, MCP-1 and IL-23 in blood of adults and children confirm their important role both in APN and CPN, but MCP-1 can be considered as a predictor of acute/exacerbation of chronic pyelonephritis. By the findings of the studied cytokines, more expressed immune response was noted in the adults.

RESUMEN

The article deals with treatment of chronic renal insufficiency, which is an issue of the day. 35 patients with chronic renal insufficiency (CRI) at I-II stages irrespective of primary nosological diagnosis have been investigated. It was the first time when LIPIN was prescribed at a total dose of 20 mg/kg to improve the methods of conservative therapy. The material presents dynamics of laboratory indices of renal function over treatment with LIPIN. It was established, that LIPIN statistically reliably decreases creatinine and urea level in patient's blood, absolutely brings down transmidase blood serum activity, reduce clinical presentations of uremic gastroenteropathy as well as improves general state of health.

RESUMEN

As many as 54 patients with systemic lupus erythematosis presenting with the kidney damage and thirteen damage-free patients were studied for the dynamic surface tension (ST) of the urine with the aid of the computerized tensiometer MPT2. The condition is characterized by a drop in ST with the surface time equal to 1 second and a slope in the curve of tensiograms. The above findings have been secured in 53.7 and 71.6 percent respectively. In lupiform glomerulonephritis there is noted further lowering of the parameters. The proposed technique will, we believe, help in carrying out the differential diagnosis of the condition, assessment of the clinical course and degree of activity of the pathological process as well as in exercising control over efficiency of the therapeutic measures adopted.

RESUMEN

Analysis of the severity of the clinical course of tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) in the Maritime Territory, 1966-1983, showed a decline in the incidence of the disease by 20% in the group of subjects vaccinated against TBE, whereas the severity of the disease showed no statistically significant difference from that among nonvaccinated subjects. The causes of the poor protective effect of the liquid tissue culture vaccine produced by the Research Institute of Vaccines and Sera, Ministry of Health of the USSR, Tomsk, were demonstrated alongside with the advantages of the lyophilized concentrated vaccine manufactured by the Institute for Poliomyelitis and Viral Encephalitides of the USSR Academy of Medical Sciences, which should be used for prophylactic vaccinations of subjects working in forests who comprised 29% of the vaccines. In this way, TBE incidence in the region could be reduced considerably.
