RESUMEN

By means of electrochemical deposition from electrolytes, containing salts of Pb and Bi (0.03 mol/l and 0.02 mol/l respectively) thin films of intermetallic Pb7Bi3 have been fabricated. The superconducting transition temperature of the films was measured to be around 7.8 K. The deposition of the films with thickness of 50-100 nm was performed via passing rectangular current pulses with given amplitude and length. It was shown that adding salt of Ce into the electrolyte leads to a significant growth of the Tc for the deposited films reaching its maximum at the salt concentration of 0.06 mol/I. X-ray analysis data revealed the single phase of Pb7Bi3 films with hexagonal structure (SG) having a textures parallel to (101) plane. The morphology of the film surface is characterized by nanocluster structure with typical grain size around 70-80 nm. For the films, fabricated with adding salt of Ce, together with the intermetallic phase of Pb7Bi3, the second phase containing Bi is detected. At the same time, the typical grain size is reduced to 20-30 nm. Additionally, the suppression of the superconductivity in the grown films is investigated. The influence of the composition and structure on the superconducting critical temperature is discussed for both types of the fabricated films.

RESUMEN

Nanostructured Pd-Fe thin films with varied Fe content were prepared by electrodeposition technique from organic electrolytes on Cu and brass substrates. The structure and the magnetic properties of the films were investigated prior to post-deposition annealing. The structure of the Pd1-xFe(x) thin film with x = 0.14, 0.24, and 0.52 was determined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) as a solid solution of iron in palladium face-centered cubic lattice with the (111) orientation of nanograins relatively to the substrate surface. The films with higher iron concentration, x = 0.74, 0.91, have structure of a solid solution based on the body-centered cubic lattice. The average grain size determined by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for the first two alloys is 7-10 nm, and for the latter ones it is about 120 nm. The saturation magnetization of the films has linear dependence on the iron content, but coercivity has non-monotonic dependence on x, i.e., the films with x = 0.68 show highest coercivity. The magnetic anisotropy of the samples is studied by ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) spectroscopy.

RESUMEN

The structures of palladium and palladium alloys thin films deposited from organic electrolytes onto metallic substrates by electroless plating method have been investigated. The coatings are dense, pore-free 0.005-1 microm thick films with high adhesive strength to the substrate surface. EDX, XRD, SEM and TEM methods were used to determine the composition and structure of alloy coatings of the following binary systems: Pd-Au, Pd-Ag, Pd-Ni, Pd-Pb, and ternary system Pd-Au-Ni. The coatings of Pd-Au, Pd-Ag and Pd-Ni have a solid solution structure, whereas Pd-Pb is intermetallic compound. It has been found that the deposited films consist of nanocrystalline grains with sizes in the range of 11-35 nm. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy investigations reveal the existence of clusters formed by nanocrystalline grains. The origin for the formation of nanocrystalline structures of coating films is discussed.
