RESUMEN

Trigeminal nerve acts a main part in morphogenesis and facial pattern. Its contribution to skeletal building and fibrous distribution according to those of different anatomo-functional matrixes allow a radiographic approach of the mesofacial morphology. Excluding anterior exofacial structures, the first statistical results lays the foundations of an accurate and promising architectural cephalometric analysis of mesofacial part.

RESUMEN

Is the balance of the hyo-lingual musculature very important about mandibular morphology and orientation of mandibular growth? The purpose of this study is to detect the existence of possible reports between hyo-lingual position and mandibular morphogenesis. The selected population is made of fifty children from eight and a half to ten and a half years old, who are thumb sucking and mouth breathing. The means of study are norma lateralis teleradiographs made when facial musculature is at rest position. The statistical analysis implies a descriptive and correlative analysis of 82 variables, and a comparative study with an other sample. In spite of anatomic bonds, it seems to be a relative independence between lingual morphology and orientation of mandibular growth. Perhaps head posture is it a more important mechanism!

RESUMEN

An African Negroïd ivorian child's facial, cranial, morphological and anatomical profile research The cephalometric study of telerdiography negatives of profile carried out on a sample of 52 Ivorian children from 11 to 14 years old, has shown some particularities which characterize the face and skull architecture. These particular features differentiate the Ivorian from the west Africans and from the French. According to the authors it would be better to establish the Ivorian's specific norms and to consequently adapt the face and tooth orthopedie therapeuties.
