RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The aim of the study was to evaluate morphological changes in the bone structures of the elements of the temporomandibular joint in patients with unilateral terminal defects of the dentition. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The study involved 90 patients aged 18 to 44 years, who underwent: clinical examination of the maxillofacial region, cone-beam computed tomography with digital processing of computed tomograms in the Avantis 3D system, statistical processing of the results obtained. In the course of the study, two main samples were determined: depending on the side of the defect and on the duration of the appearance of the defect of the dentition. RESULTS: During the study of 90 computed tomograms of patients with unilateral terminal defects of the dentition and their further computer processing, the structural features of the bone elements of the temporomandibular joint were studied, the main morphometric changes of the mandibular heads were established, a comparative characteristic of morphometric parameters in the study groups was carried out. CONCLUSION: The identified structural changes in the heads of the lower jaw in patients with unilateral end defects of the dentition appear as a result of the presence of an untreated defect of the dentition for a long period of time.

RESUMEN

In the present study, the role of robot-assistance in dentistry and the main ways of its further development are analyzed. The basic structures of mechatronic devices and the features of their application in dentistry were reviewed. A retro-prospective analysis of the structures of robotic and robot-assisted systems used in dental practice was carried out. The development of robot-assisted and robotic systems should include the improvement of methods of intraoperative imaging, diagnostic tools, the improvement of surgical instruments, as well as the emergence of new robotic developments.

RESUMEN

In considerable decrease of bite height the interposition of firm and soft tissues of temporomandibulare joint (TMJ) varied, its function was broken. By means of a computer tomography we estimated width of departments of the articulate crack. The increase in back articulate space was regarded at bite correction as optimum result of treatment. Measurements were made at use of multiplanar 2D-reconstruction in sagittal projections. At performance of volume (3D) reconstruction it was noticed that in patients with atypical change of interposition of TMJ elements prospective rotation of position of a head at performance of functional tests (research performance in position of the closed mouth and at bite restoration on silicone forms) was not caught. However, in these patients clinical improvement was noted in all cases. Use of 3D-reconstruction facilitate understanding of an arrangement of heads of lower jaw in cavities of joints, including with the use of functional tests. However, to estimate the minimum degrees of rotation of position of heads of articulate shoots was not obviously possible. Also measurements of width of an articulate crack weew not absolutely representative in comparison with interpretation of multiplanar 2D-reconstruction.

RESUMEN

In blood and the mixed saliva of patients with intolerance of stomatologic constructional materials the maintenance of cytokines, factors of humoral answer were investigated. It was established, that in formation of intolerance the increased sensitivity stomatologic constructional materials which is not connected to allergic reaction of immediate type and is, apparently, pseudoallergic or develops on other type. There is an activation of the local immune answer including local synthesis of proinflammatory cytokines, sIgA and hyperactivation of complement system to formation of C3a component. Toxic and allergic action of stomatologic constructional materials grows in patients having antibodies to Candida albicans in the mixed saliva.

RESUMEN

The reaction of bone tissue to implantation of cylindric titanium implants sprayed with hydroxyapatite and aluminum oxide was studied. The coating was characterized by a high biological histocompatibility. The elements of cellular reactions specific for foreign bodies were absent, this permitting us to refer such coating to bioactive materials. The strength of fixation in the bone was compatible to the strength of osseous tissue adjacent to bone tissue implant. The coating may be used in oral implantology, traumatology, and orthodontics.

RESUMEN

The authors suggest a method for making an adhesive permanent denture with parapulpar dowels consisting in the use of a whole cast conductor for drilling parapulpar channels in the patient's oral cavity. The conductor is cast simultaneously with the prosthesis of the same metal, hence metal shrinkage in casting is the same, this being a guarantee of the denture accuracy.
