RESUMEN
Apart from the usually seen diseases of the renal artery, there exists a group of disorders that occur less frequently and rarely show up as a primary disease process. Arteriovenous malformations and renal artery aneurysms are examples of these conditions. Thrombosis of the renal artery and vein are two other relatively uncommon conditions that may show no pathognomonic clinical features. This article reviews the clinical features of these rare disorders and presents diagnosis and management.

This report documents a case of hypertension caused by an intrarenal arterial stenosis in a ten-year-old girl. The renovascular origin of her hypertension was suggested by a positive saralasin acetate infusion test, and the lesion was identified by use of the subtraction technique in renal arteriography. Partial nephrectomy resulted in resolution of the patient's hypertension with good function in the remaining portion of the kidney.

Advancing V-flap dismembered pyeloplasty reconstruction of obstructive ureteropelvic function was used in 31 patients. This modification of the dismembered pyeloplasty compares well in the long-term follow-up when matched with 57 patients treated with other types of dismembered pyeloplasty. Foley Y-V (11 cases), Scardino (4 cases), and Culp (2 cases) pyeloplasties are included in this follow-up of our 105 cases.

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma can present initially as urologic disease. The 15 reported cases in the literature are analyzed and 5 cases, featuring ureteral obstruction, renal artery compression, abdominal bruit, positive urinary cytology, varicocele, renal mass and hematuria as the initial presentation of this disease, are added. The diagnosis and management are reviewed.
