[MALDI-TOF mass-spectrometric analysis of cell proteins during identification of leptospira genus members].

AIM: Development of methodological approaches for identification of leptospira by using MALDI-TOF direct protein profiling technology. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Analysis of cell proteins of 34 leptospira strains was carried out in Microflex LT by using "MALDI Biotyper 3.0 for identification and classification of microorganisms" program. RESULTS: 19 reference spectra of reference leptospira strains from 7 species were generated and imported into MALDI Biotyper 3.0 database. Identification of 6 strains with undetermined taxonomic position was carried out. CONCLUSION: The approved method allows determination of leptospira species with accuracy that depends on their adaptation to nutrient media, preparation approach and sample storage conditions for mass-spectrometry.

[Analysis of polymorphisms of genes associated with immune response and tissue remodeling in occupational chronic bronchitis].

The involvement of polymorphisms of genes encoding immune response-associated molecules (LTA, TNFA, ILB, ILRN, IL8, IL10, VDBP), matrix metalloproteinases (MMP1, MMP2, MMP3, MMP9, MMP12, ADAM33), and tissue and serum inhibitors of proteases (TIMP2, TIMP3, SERPINA1, SERPINA3) in the predisposition to occupational chronic bronchitis was assessed by PCR-RFLP analysis in groups of patients (n = 122) and healthy employees (n = 166). It was found that occupational chronic bronchitis was associated with polymorphisms of VDBP (P(adj) = 0.00005, OR(adj) = 2.06), MMP1 (P(adj) = 0.00002, OR(adj) = 2.57), ADAM33 (P(adj) = 0.0004, OR(adj) = 2.52), and IL8 (P(adj) = 0.0058, OR(adj) = 2.87). The most significant association was observed for the VDBP polymorphism 1296T>G. The VDBP haplotype GC*1S by the loci 1296T>G and 1307C>A was an informative susceptibility marker (P(adj) = 0.0001, OR(adj) = 2.60, 95% CI (1.62-4.19)). There was also a significant interaction between the VDBP polymorphism 1307C>A and the duration of occupational exposure to hazardous factors (P(interaction) = 0.02). Apparently, the investigated polymorphisms of VDBP, MMP1, ADAM33, and IL8 contribute to the genetic susceptibility to chronic bronchitis induced by dust and toxic agents.

At present time very topical problem is falsification of milk fat. The number of methods was considered to detection of milk fat authention and possibilities his difference from combined fat products. The analysis of modern approaches to valuation of milk fat authention has showed that the main method for detection of fat nature is gas chromatography analysis. The computer method of express identification of fat products is proposed for quick getting of information about accessory of examine fat to nature milk or combined fat product.

[Amaranths oil: peculiarities of chemical composition and influence on lipid metabolism by rats].

In experiment on rats it was shown a hypocholesterolemic effect of amaranth oil. The decrease of cholesterol lever in rat blood was not accompanied by its increasing in a liver. The turn from a model of hypercholesterolemia to the diet with amaranth oil also prodused decreasing of cholesterol lever in rat plasma and liver as compared with control animals. In the composition of rat liver sterins the increasing of plant sterins was observed that probably was due to squalene presense in amaranth oil.

[Express-method of a valuation of fat products authention wth using computes program].

The present investigation was devoted on the processing of program for express analysis of fat products detecting in the Access. The program can to establish nature of milk fat and to give detailed characteristic of combined fat products, including information about technology, used under production of combined fat products and their preferable field of application.

[Combined fat products modern approaches to quality assessment].

The investigation was made of combined fat products quality: spreads, fats used for frying and baking, obtaining in shop. The value of peroxide number and content of cholesterol were determinated. The receiving results detect higher rate of peroxide oxidation products in spreads in compare with fats, used for frying and baking. The needing of taking out information about cholesterol content to label of combined fat product is showed and also severe control of peroxide oxidation values after spreads production.

[Coxsackie B enterovirus infection in Astrakhan Province]. / Enterovirusnaia infektsiia Koksaki B v Astrakhanskoi oblasti.

Overall 132 patients with Coxsackie B enteroviral infection were admitted to an Astrakhan infectious hospital in 1989. Of these, 100 patients had aseptic meningitis and 32 presented with respiratory infection syndrome. The severity of enteroviral meningitis may vary from mild forms running its course without marked meningeal syndrome to grave ones associated with high pleocytosis, manifest syndrome of CSF hypertension and potential exacerbation of the infectious process. The patients with the syndrome of respiratory infection demonstrated its combination with intestinal disorders (39%). The ECG changes attested to marked toxic alterations in the myocardium. The peripheral blood showed leukopenia with relative lymphocytosis. The treatment and future course of the disease are dependent on a correct etiological diagnosis which is feasible with joint efforts of clinicians, epidemiologists and virologists.
