RESUMEN

Baihe Gujin decoction is one of the most commonly used decoction in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of lung cancer. It can nourish yin and moisten the lung as well as prevent phlegm from forming and stop coughing. On the one hand, Baihe Gujin decoction is characterized with extensive application, proven efficacy, a long history, and high safety. On the other hand, Baihe Gujin decoction can induce apoptosis of tumor cells, improve immune function and inhibit inflammation. The main anti-tumor components of this include kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, glycyrrhizin and ß-sitosterol. Clinically, Baihe Gujin decoction can improve the adverse reactions caused by radiotherapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy for lung cancer, enhance the quality of life of patients, and prolong their survival time. At present, there are a large number of clinical and basic researches on the treatment of lung cancer with Baihe Gujin decoction. In this paper, we mainly discussed the treatment of lung cancer with Baihe Gujin decoction through analyzing basic and clinical researches at home and abroad in the past 20 years. Through the discussion, we aimed to probe deeper into Baihe Gujin decoction for the treatment of lung cancer, thereby providing a broader idea for clinical diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer.

BACKGROUND: Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (IGM) results in notable clinical symptoms and breast deformity. This study aimed to evaluate the clinical feasibility of microwave ablation (MWA) for the treatment of IGM through comparison with surgical excision. METHODS: From June 2016 to December 2020, a total of 234 consecutive patients admitted to the hospital were retrospectively included in this study. IGM was pathologically confirmed via breast biopsy in all included patients. These patients were divided into the MWA group (n = 91) and surgical group (n = 143) based on the type of treatment. Patients in both groups received oral prednisone prior to intervention. The clinical remission rate, recurrence rate, operative pain, complications, and BREAST Q score were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: There were 340 lesions in the MWA group, and 201 lesions in the surgical group were ultimately included. Significant differences in the complete remission rate (96.7% vs. 86.7%, p = 0.020), recurrence rate (3.3% vs. 13.3%, p = 0.020), operation time (48.7±14.6 min vs. 68.1±36.4 min, p < 0.001), postoperative pain (p < 0.001) and postoperative BREAST Q score (p < 0.001) were observed between the MWA and surgical groups. CONCLUSIONS: Microwave ablation is feasible for the treatment of IGM, due to its high curative rate and low recurrence rate. Because of the minimal invasiveness of MWA and sufficient preservation of the gland and contour of the breast, patients are more satisfied with the appearance of the breast. Therefore, for patients with complex conditions requiring surgery, MWA is a good alternative treatment.

Arsenic (As), a common environmental pollutant, has become a hot topic in recent years due to its potentially harmful effects. Liver damage being a central clinical feature of chronic arsenic poisoning. However, the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. We demonstrated that arsenic can lead to oxidative stress in the liver and result in structural and functional liver damage, significantly correlated with the expression of AUF1, Dicer1, and miR-155 in the liver. Interestingly, knockdown AUF1 promoted the up-regulatory effects of arsenic on Dicer1 and miR-155 and the inhibitory effects on SOD1, which exacerbated oxidative damage in rat liver. However, overexpression of AUF1 reversed the up-regulatory effects of arsenic on Dicer1 and miR-155, restored arsenic-induced SOD1 depletion, and attenuated liver oxidative stress injury. Further, we verified the mechanism and targets of miR-155 in regulating SOD1 by knockdown/overexpression of miR-155 and nonsense mutant SOD1 3'UTR experiments. In conclusion, these results powerfully demonstrate that arsenic inhibits AUF1 protein expression, which in turn reduces the inhibitory effect on Dicer1 expression, which promotes miR-155 to act on the SOD1 3'UTR region after high expression, thus inhibiting SOD1 protein expression and enzyme activity, and inducing liver injury. This finding provides a new perspective for the mechanism research and targeted prevention of arsenic poisoning, as well as scientific evidence for formulating strategies to prevent and control environmental arsenic pollution.

Seed germination (SG) is the first stage in a plant's life and has an immense importance in sustaining crop production. Abiotic stresses reduce SG by increasing the deterioration of seed quality, and reducing germination potential, and seed vigor. Thus, to achieve a sustainable level of crop yield, it is important to improve SG under abiotic stress conditions. Melatonin (MEL) is an important biomolecule that interplays in developmental processes and regulates many adaptive responses in plants, especially under abiotic stresses. Thus, this review specifically summarizes and discusses the mechanistic basis of MEL-mediated SG under abiotic stresses. MEL regulates SG by regulating some stress-specific responses and some common responses. For instance, MEL induced stress specific responses include the regulation of ionic homeostasis, and hydrolysis of storage proteins under salinity stress, regulation of C-repeat binding factors signaling under cold stress, starch metabolism under high temperature and heavy metal stress, and activation of aquaporins and accumulation of osmolytes under drought stress. On other hand, MEL mediated regulation of gibberellins biosynthesis and abscisic acid catabolism, redox homeostasis, and Ca2+ signaling are amongst the common responses. Nonetheless factors such as endogenous MEL contents, plant species, and growth conditions also influence above-mentioned responses. In conclusion, MEL regulates SG under abiotic stress conditions by interacting with different physiological mechanisms.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Abelmoschus manihot (L.) Medik. Seeds (AMS, སོ་མ་ར་ཛ།), a Tibetan classical herbal in China, are rich in flavonoids and phenolic glycosides compounds, such as quercetin and its derivatives. Moreover, it has been found to possess anti-rheumatoid arthritis (RA) effects. Nonetheless, its anti-RA mechanism is yet unknown. AIM OF THE STUDY: This research aimed to examine the active ingredients of AMS as well as potential pharmacological mechanisms in AMS on RA. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The ultra-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem multistage mass spectrometry (UPLC-ESI-IT-MSn) technique was used to determine the primary chemical components of AMS that were responsible for the therapeutic effects on RA. In addition, 36 male Wistar rats weighing between 200 and 220 g were classified at random into six groups [normal control group, collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) group, methotrexate group (positive control, 1.05 mg/kg), AMS group (157.5 mg/kg, 315 mg/kg, 630 mg/kg)]. CIA rats were given AMS extract by intragastric administration for 28 days, and their ankles were photographed to observe the degree of swelling. Further, the arthritis score, paws swelling, and body weight changes of CIA rats were determined to observe whether AMS has any effect on RA, and synovial and cartilage tissue injuries were identified by histopathology. Besides, the levels of IL-10, TNF-α, IL-1ß, INF-γ, etc. in serum were estimated by ELISA. Western blot experiments were implemented to identify the expression levels of protein involved in the JAK2/STAT3 signaling pathway in the CIA rats' synovial tissues. Moreover, the mechanisms and targets of active ingredient therapy of AMS for RA were predicted using network pharmacology and then verified using molecular docking. RESULT: In the present study, 12 compounds were detected by UPLC-ESI-IT-MSn, such as quercetin and its derivative which could be potential active ingredients that contribute to the anti-RA properties of AMS. Our in vivo studies on CIA rats revealed that an AMS-H dose of 630 mg/kg significantly improved joint damage while decreasing the arthritic index and paw swelling. Furthermore, AMS inhibited the INF-γ, IL-6, IL-17, IL-1ß, and TNF-α, levels while upregulating the expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-10 and IL-4 in serum. Besides, AMS inhibited the protein Bcl-2/Bax, STAT3, and JAK2 levels, and promoted the expression of Caspase3, SOCS1, and SOCS3 in the JAK2/STAT3 pathway. Additionally, the JAK/STAT signaling pathway was found to perform a remarkable function in the AMS therapy of RA as evidenced by enrichment in GO terms and KEGG pathways. Meanwhile, data from molecular docking experiments indicated that the core targets of PIK3CA, JAK2, and SRC bound stably to the active ingredients of mimuone, 4'-methoxy-bavachromanol, and quercetin. CONCLUSION: According to these findings, the AMS could improve joint inflammation in CIA rats, and its underlying mechanism could be linked to the regulation of the JAK2/STAT3 pathway. Therefore, AMS might become a promising agent for alleviating inflammation in RA patients.

Arsenic is a widely distributed environmental toxic substance in nature. Chronic arsenic exposure can cause permanent damage to the liver, resulting in the death of poisoned patients. However, the mechanism of liver damage caused by arsenic poisoning is yet unclear. Here, four different concentrations of sodium arsenite (NaAsO2) (0 mg/L (control group), 25 mg/L, 50 mg/L, and 100 mg/L group)were established to induce liver injury in rats. Taking this into account, the relationship and potential mechanisms of oxidative stress, Bcl-2/adenovirus E1B-19-kDa-interacting protein 3 (BNIP3), and inhibition of autophagy flux in liver injury caused by arsenic poisoning were studied. The results indicated that long-term exposure to NaAsO2 could induce oxidative stress, leading to high expression of BNIP3, thereby impaired autophagy flux, and ultimately resulting in liver damage. This research provides an important basis for future research on liver damage caused by chronic arsenic exposure and prevention and treatment with BNIP3 as the target.

It has been reported that vanillin has been intentionally added to enhance the taste and flavor of low-quality vegetable oils. Therefore, it is crucial to investigate the accurate concentrations of vanillin in three types of fragrant vegetable oils commonly consumed in China. In this study, a method has been developed for the quantification of vanillin in commercial fragrant vegetable oils using the stable isotope dilution assay (SIDA) and headspace-solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled with gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS). The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) of the analyte were determined to be 20 µg kg-1 and 50 µg kg-1, respectively. The validation study demonstrated that the recoveries ranged from 89% to 101%, with intra-day and inter-day precision being less than 7.46%. A survey of 80 commercially available fragrant vegetable oils was performed using the present method. Vanillin was found to be widely present in fragrant vegetable oils, with sesame oils showing the highest average content (842.6 µg kg-1), followed by rapeseed oils (262.1 µg kg-1) and peanut oils (115.0 µg kg-1). The results indicate that the proposed method is a simple, accurate, and eco-friendly approach for determining the presences of vanillin in fragrant vegetable oils.

Disclosed here is NHC-catalyzed direct intermolecular trapping of the ketone oxygen atom with the acyl azolium intermediate. The overall reaction is a dynamic kinetic resolution process that converts ketone to the corresponding enol ester with well-controlled axial chirality. Our reaction eventually affords non-C2-symmetric binaphthyl derivatives with important applications, such as in the area of asymmetric catalysis.

This study investigated the effect of fiberoptic ductoscopy (FDS) combined with methylene blue staining immediately after FDS procedure on pathological nipple discharge diseases. A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 122 patients with nipple discharge, who underwent FDS and surgical treatment at the Department of Breast and Thyroid Surgery of Tengzhou Central People's Hospital, was conducted. The demographic characteristics and surgical outcomes of all patients were assessed. According to the injection time of methylene blue, the patients were divided into the control and the observational groups. In the observational group, methylene blue was injected immediately after ductoscopy and then surgical treatment was performed 12-24 h later, while in the control group, methylene blue injection was just few minutes before surgery treatment. There was no significant difference in the demographic characteristics between the two groups such as age and disease course, in the observational group, the incision length 2.39 (0.48) cm, the volume of resected tissue 41.93 (40.57) cm3, the intraoperative blood loss 12.19 (2.10) ml and the operation duration 26.95 (4.51) min were significantly lower than those of the traditional group (P < 0.05). The average hospital stay 3.08 (0.62) days, breast shape satisfaction 4.78 (1.63) points and postoperative drainage tube placement [3 (5.08%) days] in the observational group were significantly better than those in the control group (P < 0.05). FDS combined with immediate methylene blue staining, which has the advantages of accurate location of the diseased duct, small surgical incision, less tissue removal, and ease of finding the orifice of discharged mammary duct, and is worthy of widespread clinical application.

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to collect, organize, and conduct a meta-analysis of the literature on the expression of silent information regulator two homolog 1 (SIRT1) in the placental tissue and plasma of patients with pre-eclampsia. METHODS: The enrolled patients were divided into two groups: the pre-eclampsia group and the healthy group. This study summarized and analyzed the demographic characteristics of the two groups, including pregnancy age, gestational weeks, parity, gravidity, blood pressure, Body Mass Index, newborn weight, placental weight, and SIRT1 expression in placental tissue and maternal plasma. RESULTS: Eleven studies were included in this research, with 586 cases in the pre-eclampsia group and 479 cases in the control group. Three research studies are reporting immunohistochemistry tests, among which the pre-eclampsia group had a positivity rate of 30.24% (62/205), while the control group had 58.02% (76/131); the two groups have a significant difference (p < 0.05). Two research studies reported the results of ELISA tests, with 107 cases in the pre-eclampsia group and 125 cases in the control group. A comparison of the SIRT1 test results showed a statistically significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05). Pre-eclampsia group patients had lower gestational weeks, newborn birth weight, and placental weight compared to the healthy control group (all p < 0.05). However, systolic and diastolic blood pressures were higher in the pre-eclampsia group than in the control group (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: SIRT1 expression is downregulated in pre-eclampsia patients' plasma and placental tissue. Further research is needed to validate this conclusion.

BACKGROUND: LncRNAs have been shown to be involved in and control the biological processes of multiple diseases, including preeclampsia (PE). The impairment of trophoblast cell proliferation is recognized as a significant anomaly contributing to the development of PE. LncRNA FEZF1-AS1 was found downregulated in placental tissues of PE patients. However, the precise regulatory mechanism of FEZF1-AS1 in placental trophoblast proliferation and apoptosis remains unclear. RESULTS: In this study, we conducted an investigation into the expression levels of FEZF1-AS1 and NOC2L in placental tissues obtained from patients diagnosed with PE. Subsequently, we employed CCK-8 and EdU assays to quantify cell proliferation, while TUNEL staining and western blot for apoptosis-related protein detection to assess apoptosis. Furthermore, the interactions between FEZF1-AS1 and ELAVL1, as well as NOC2L and ELAVL1, were confirmed through the implementation of RIP and RNA pull-down assays. We found a downregulation of lncRNA FEZF1-AS1 and NOC2L in placental tissues of PE patients. Overexpression of FEZF1-AS1 or NOC2L resulted in increased cell proliferation and inhibition of apoptosis, whereas knockdown of FEZF1-AS1 or NOC2L had the opposite effect. In addition, lncRNA FEZF1-AS1 stabilized NOC2L mRNA expression by interacting with ELAVL1. Moreover, partial reversal of the effects of FEZF1-AS1 overexpression on cell proliferation and apoptosis was observed upon suppression of ELAVL1 or NOC2L. CONCLUSIONS: PE related lncRNA FEZF1-AS1 could regulate apoptosis and proliferation of placental trophoblast cells through the ELAVL1/NOC2L axis.

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: In endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-fine-needle biopsy (FNB) of solid pancreatic mass lesions, the number of times the needle moves back and forth within the lesion might affect the collection of the sample and the subsequent diagnostic accuracy. Thus, this study was designed to compare the diagnostic adequacy between different numbers of back-and-forth movements in EUS-FNB. METHODS: Fifty-five patients with solid pancreatic masses underwent EUS-FNB sampling with the needle (22-gauge) moved 20 times (MTT) and 40 times (MFT) randomly and sequentially for a total of four alternating passes. We compared the acquisition rate of appropriate and adequate specimens for histologic assessment and diagnostic accuracy. RESULTS: Finally, 55 patients (35 men and 20 women) were included in the study. We found that 56.4% (31/55) and 60% (33/55) of the specimens obtained using MTT and MFT, respectively, could be adequately diagnosed histologically (P = 0.815, McNemar test). The diagnostic accuracy of MTT and MFT was 72.7% (40/55) and 80% (44/55), respectively (P = 0.289, McNemar test). The overall diagnostic accuracy was 89.1%. CONCLUSION: There was no significant statistical difference between the histopathological diagnostic samples obtained in MTT and those obtained in MFT. Therefore, a large number of back-and-forth movements of the needle should be avoided during EUS-FNB, which can help reduce the operation time and may reduce the risk of intraoperative and postoperative complications (Clinical trial registration number: ChiCTR2000031106).

Seed germination is a crucial stage in the life cycle of annuals in arid, saline regions and is particularly vulnerable to abiotic stresses. Peganum harmala, a valuable medicinal plant, has limited research on its seed germination response to different environmental stresses in the arid, saline regions of Central Asia. To investigate this, we studied the effects of various temperature regimes (ranging from 20/5 to 35/20 °C), light exposure (12 hours light/12 hours dark and continuous dark), seven levels of polyethylene glycol (PEG-6000) concentration (ranging from 0-30%), and four types of salinity (ranging from 0-600 mmol L-1). Our findings show that photoperiod and temperature significantly influence germination. Optimal temperature range for seed germination was observed at 30/15 °C, with simulated critical and limit values of drought tolerance being highest (17.30% and 24.98%). However, higher temperatures (35/20 °C) and lower temperatures (20/5 °C) reduced the critical and limit values of drought tolerance. Additionally, the type and concentration of salinity had a significant effect on the seed germination, shoot, and root lengths of P. harmala. Regression analysis indicated that the critical values of NaCl, Na2SO4, NaHCO3, and Na2CO3 tolerance during germination were 178 mmol L-1, 101 mmol L-1, 106 mmol L-1, and 54 mmol L-1, respectively. Salinity inhibition on seed germination followed the order: NaCl < NaHCO3 < Na2SO4 < Na2CO3. Moreover, NaCl, Na2SO4, NaHCO3, and Na2CO3 significantly inhibited the growth of P. harmala seedlings in both shoots and roots. Our study demonstrates the sensitivity of P. harmala to environmental factors such as light, temperature, drought, and salinity. The study provides valuable information on the germination ecology of P. harmala under diverse ecological scenarios, which can be useful in developing efficient propagation and utilization of this medicinal plant.

The self-reduction mechanism in pyrophosphate phosphors is currently explained through nonequivalent substitution for charge compensation. Nevertheless, the impact of oxygen vacancies on the self-reduction enhancement requires further investigation. Herein, heterovalent Ba1-xZn1-yP2O7:xEu2+/3+, yMg phosphors with rigid structures were prepared through conventional solid-phase technology in air. The cation substitution strategy leads to different chemistry electronegativity and adjustable crystal field environments and creates vacancy defects. Crystal structure and component analysis indicate the gradual phase segregation change from BaZnP2O7 to BaMgP2O7 with increasing Mg2+ content. The CIE coordinates that are tuned from (0.514, 0.334) to (0.326, 0.152) and realize color-tunable emission from red-orange to blue-violet can be used as multicolor functional materials. Besides, the phosphor demonstrates its maximum Sa of 0.4725% K-1 (498 K) and Sr of 1.376% K-1 (423 K). These results demonstrate that the phosphors have the potential for contactless optical temperature measurement and anticounterfeiting. This work not only investigates the self-reduction of the Eu3+ → Eu2+ phenomenon but also provides a supplementary explanation and data support to complete the effect of the oxygen vacancy on self-reduction.

BACKGROUND: Exosomes derived from oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) could modulate OSCC development. This study aimed to explore effects of exosome-mediated lncRNA PART1 on OSCC cells. METHODS: This study was performed in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute from February 2021 to March 2022. Bioinformatic analysis was performed on the public database GEPIA (http://gepia.cancer-pku.cn/). Exosomes isolated from cell lines squamous cell carcinoma 9 (SCC9) and Centre Antoine Lacassagne-27 (CAL27) were identified by transmission electron microscope and western blot. Exosome-mediated lncRNA PART1, microRNA-17-5p(miR-17-5p) and suppressor of cytokine signaling 6(SOCS6) RNA expressions were assessed by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Cell counting kit8(CCK-8), caspase-3 activity, and flow cytometry were applied to evaluate OSCC cell viabilities and apoptosis. Meanwhile, OSCC cell migratory ability and invasiveness were evaluated using transwell assay. Bindings between miR-17-5p and lncRNA PART1 or SOCS6 were validated using the luciferase reporter test. Western blot was used for detecting the protein levels of SOCS6, phosphorylated signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) and STAT3. RESULTS: : According to GEPIA, lncRNA PART1 was downregulated in OSCC tissue samples and cells, and it had a positive correlation with the good prognosis of Head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC) patients. After the exosomes from OSCC cells were isolated and verified, PART1 was then confirmed to be secreted by exosomes. Further, overexpression of exosome-mediated lncRNA PART1 inhibited OSCC cell viabilities, migration, and invasiveness but facilitated OSCC cell apoptosis. PART1 upregulated SOCS6 through sponging miR-17-5p. Moreover, exosome-mediated lncRNA PART1 suppressed the phosphorylation of STAT3. DISCUSSION: Exosome-mediated lncRNA PART1 could mediate the OSCC progression via miR-17-5p/SOCS6 axis in vitro, suggesting that lncRNA PART1 might be a target for treating OSCC.

Mutations in connexin 26 (Cx26) cause hearing disorders of a varying degree. Herein, to identify compounds capable of restoring the function of mutated Cx26, a novel miniaturized microarray-based screening system was developed to perform an optical assay of Cx26 functionality. These molecules were identified through a viability assay using HeLa cells expressing wild-type (WT) Cx26, which exhibited sensitivity toward the HSP90 inhibitor radicicol in the submicromolar concentration range. Open Cx26 hemichannels are assumed to mediate the passage of molecules up to 1000 Da in size. Thus, by releasing radicicol, WT Cx26 active hemichannels in HeLa cells contribute to a higher survival rate and lower cell viability when Cx26 is mutated. HeLa cells expressing Cx26 mutations exhibited reduced viability in the presence of radicicol, such as the mutants F161S or R184P. Next, molecules exhibiting chemical chaperoning activity, suspected of restoring channel function, were assessed regarding whether they induced superior sensitivity toward radicicol and increased HeLa cell viability. Through a viability assay and microarray-based flux assay that uses Lucifer yellow in HeLa cells, compounds 3 and 8 were identified to restore mutant functionality. Furthermore, thermophoresis experiments revealed that only 3 (VRT-534) exhibited dose-responsive binding to recombinant WT Cx26 and mutant Cx26K188N with half maximal effective concentration values of 19 and ∼5 µM, respectively. The findings of this study reveal that repurposing compounds already being used to treat other diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, in combination with functional bioassays and binding tests can help identify novel potential candidates that can be used to treat hearing disorders.

SARS-CoV-2, a newly discovered coronavirus, has been linked to the COVID-19 pandemic and is currently an important public health issue. Despite all the work done to date around the world, there is still no viable treatment for COVID-19. This study examined the most recent evidence on the efficacy and safety of several therapeutic options available including natural substances, synthetic drugs and vaccines in the treatment of COVID-19. Various natural compounds such as sarsapogenin, lycorine, biscoclaurine, vitamin B12, glycyrrhizic acid, riboflavin, resveratrol and kaempferol, various vaccines and drugs such as AZD1222, mRNA-1273, BNT162b2, Sputnik V, and remdesivir, lopinavir, favipiravir, darunavir, oseltamivir, and umifenovir, resp., have been discussed comprehensively. We attempted to provide exhaustive information regarding the various prospective therapeutic approaches available in order to assist researchers and physicians in treating COVID-19 patients.

BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIM: Currently, several limitations exist in the examination of the oviduct. In this study, the usefulness and feasibility of a novel ultrafine dual-modality oviduct endoscopy device for in vivo assessment of the oviduct were evaluated. METHODS: Five Japanese white rabbits were selected to undergo oviduct probing using a combination of optical coherence tomography (OCT) and intratubal ultrasonography. The feasibility of the procedure was evaluated through 152 pairs of clear, clinically interpretable images obtained using spiral scanning via the pull-back method. OCT images were compared with the oviduct histopathology sections. RESULTS: Visualization of the oviduct using both OCT and ultrasound revealed a differentiated three-layer tissue; however, ultrasound showed a poorer clarity than OCT. By comparing OCT images with the histological morphology of the oviduct, the inner low-reflective layer of the oviduct corresponds to the mucosal layer, the middle high-reflective layer corresponds to the fibrous muscle layer, and the outer low-reflective layer corresponds to the connective tissue layer. Postoperatively, the general condition of the animals was good. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrated the feasibility and potential clinical value of the novel ultrafine dual-modality oviduct endoscope. Dual-modality imaging of OCT and intratubal ultrasonography can provide clearer microstructure of the oviduct wall.

Plexiform fibromyxoma (PF) is a rare mesenchymal tumor of which the pathogenesis and molecular changes are still unclear. Histologically, it is characterized by a cluster of bland spindle or ovoid cells growing in the mucoid or fibromyxoid stroma rich in small blood vessels. At present, surgical resection is the primary treatment for PF.
