RESUMEN

Chiral metasurfaces have many applications in the terahertz (THz) band, but they still lack modulation flexibility and functionality expansion. This paper presents a terahertz chiral metasurface with switchable phase distribution and switchable circular dichroism (CD). The metasurface unit consists of a metallic inner ring embedded in vanadium oxide and a vanadium oxide outer ring, state switching by thermal control of vanadium oxide and a change in the frequency of the incident wave. Based on the switchable phase distribution, we designed a focusing vortex beam generator with adjustable focal lengths through simulation. Based on the switching CD capability, we simulate its mode switching in near-field imaging using numerical simulation, and innovatively propose an optical encryption method. Utilizing the chiral property, we also designed dual-channel switchable holographic imaging in the same frequency band, which combined with the state change of VO2 can realize a total of 4 holograms switching. Our proposed metasurface is expected to provide new ideas for the study of optical encryption and wavefront modulation of dynamics.

RESUMEN

Laser sensing and vision sensing smart canes can improve the convenience of travel for the visually impaired, but for the present, most of the system functions of laser sensing and vision sensing smart canes are still defective. Guide equipment and smart blind canes are introduced and classified first, and the smart blind canes based on vision sensing, laser sensing and laser vision sensing are investigated, respectively, and the research status of laser vision sensing smart blind canes is sorted out. The advantages and disadvantages of various laser vision sensing smart blind canes are summarized, especially the research development of laser vision fusion as the core of new smart canes. The future development prospects of laser vision sensing smart blind cane are overviewed, to boost the development of laser vision sensing smart blind cane, to provide safe and efficient travel guarantee for the visually impaired.

RESUMEN

Alpha rhythm is a prominent EEG rhythm observed during resting state and is thought to be related to multiple cognitive processes. Previous simultaneous electroencephalography (EEG)/functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies have demonstrated that alpha rhythm is associated with blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) signals in several different functional networks. How these networks influence alpha rhythm respectively is unclear. The low-frequency oscillations (LFO) in spontaneous BOLD activity are thought to contribute to the local correlations in resting state. Recent studies suggested that either LFO or other components of fMRI can be further divided into sub-components on different frequency bands. We hypothesized that those BOLD sub-components characterized the contributions of different brain networks to alpha rhythm. To test this hypothesis, EEG and fMRI data were simultaneously recorded from 17 human subjects performing an eyes-close resting state experiment. EEG alpha rhythm was correlated with the filtered fMRI time courses at different frequency bands (0.01-0.08 Hz, 0.08-0.25 Hz, 0.01-0.027 Hz, 0.027-0.073 Hz, 0.073-0.198 Hz, and 0.198-0.25 Hz). The results demonstrated significant relations between alpha rhythm and the BOLD signals in the visual network and in the attention network at LFO band, especially at the very low frequency band (0.01-0.027 Hz).
