RESUMEN

Existing studies on the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) neglect the inverse effect of pollution transfer from environmental regulation interactions on pollution reduction from a risk analysis perspective. Based on the regional differentiated attitudes on the environmental regulation reached in risk communication by the risk awareness biases of multiple interest groups, this article clarifies the causality between risk communication and risk transfer based on multistakeholder engagement processes; furthermore, the article incorporates the simultaneous action of the technological innovation effect and pollution risk transfer effect to construct a spatial environmental hyperbolic model with a bidirectional correlation between pollution emissions and economic growth in different regions. To verify our model, we select the pollution from agricultural watersheds in China as a sample to examine the two inverse effects. The results demonstrate that (1) agricultural watershed pollution and economic growth show an inverted U-shaped relation and a U-shaped relation in the local region and adjacent regions, respectively; (2) the pollution reduction assessment of the classical EKC model can be largely attributed to pollution risk transfer behavior; and (3) the turning point of the U-shaped curve appears earlier than that of the inverted U-shaped curve in the spatial hyperbola model. The findings suggest that stakeholders should consider the risk awareness bias caused by the imbalance of regional economic development and the scenarios that provide a "haven" for pollution risk transfer. Moreover, our study expands the theoretical connotation of the classical EKC hypothesis and is more suitable for pollution reduction scenarios in developing countries.

RESUMEN

This study explored how self-control and eudaimonic orientation are associated with learning burnout and internet addiction risk (IAR). Our results demonstrate that learning burnout has a significant and positive impact on IAR. The impulse system and control system play parallel mediating roles in the relationship between learning burnout and IAR. The relationship between learning burnout and IAR is moderated by eudaimonic orientation. Finally, the mediating role of the impulse system on learning burnout and IAR is moderated by eudaimonic orientation. With these findings, our study clarifies the mediating roles of the impulse system and control system in learning burnout and IAR and the moderating effects of hedonic orientation and eudaimonic orientation. Our study not only offers a new perspective for IAR research but also has practical implications for intervening in middle school students' IAR.

RESUMEN

The existing literature on the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) fails to investigate the spatial attribute of the "pollution halo" effect or to integrate the "pollution haven" effect. This paper extends the EKC model to the spatial Durbin model by exploring the spatial spillover of disembodied technology and the pollution transfer effect of environmental regulation. Taking Chinese agricultural foreign trade as an example, our paper finds that the technology spillover does not bring a pollution halo effect to local areas but to adjacent areas. The pollution haven effect impacts the EKC's turning point, which can be divided into two curves in the spatial dimension: an inverted U-shaped curve, in which the turning point represents the effect of technological innovation, and a U-shaped curve, in which the turning point represents the transfer effect of pollution-intensive industries. Based on the conclusion, this paper recommends that agricultural non-point pollution reduction should be nationally coordinated to establish transport infrastructure and the agricultural human capital conditions for the spatial diffusion of disembodied technology.

RESUMEN

The characteristics of firm's expansion by differentiated products and diversified products are quite different. However, the study employing absorptive capacity to examine the impacts of different modes of expansion on performance of small solar energy firms has never been discussed before. Then, a conceptual model to analyze the tension between strategies and corporate performance is proposed to filling the vacancy. After practical investigation, the results show that stronger organizational institutions help small solar energy firms expanded by differentiated products increase consistency between strategies and corporate performance; oppositely, stronger working attitudes with weak management controls help small solar energy firms expanded by diversified products reduce variance between strategies and corporate performance.

RESUMEN

AIM: To investigate the mechanism of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-induced apoptosis as well as the protective action of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) both in vivo and in vitro. METHODS AND RESULTS: ER stress-induced apoptosis was involved in the injuries of spinal cord injury (SCI) model rat. bFGF administration improved the recovery and increased the survival of neurons in spinal cord lesions in model rat. The protective effect of bFGF is related to the inhibition of CHOP, GRP78 and caspase-12, which are ER stress-induced apoptosis response proteins. bFGF administration also increased the survival of neurons and the expression of growth-associated protein 43 (GAP43), which is related to neural regeneration. The protective effect of bFGF is related to the activation of downstream signals, PI3K/Akt/GSK-3ß and ERK1/2, especially in the ER stress cell model. CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study to illustrate that the role of bFGF in SCI recovery is related to the inhibition of ER stress-induced cell death via the activation of downstream signals. Our work also suggested a new trend for bFGF drug development in central neural system injuries, which are involved in chronic ER stress-induced apoptosis.

RESUMEN

CdS nanoribbons with various cross sections offer the opportunity to deeply understand the interaction between optical cavity and spontaneous emission. Herein, long tapered nanoribbons with the cross sections gradually changing were synthesized by a simple physical vapour deposition method. Morphology dependent micro-region photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy is employed to show Purcell effect along different low symmetry cross sections. Spikes on the PL spectra reveal that local density of optical modes increases when the mode match happens between optical cavity and spontaneous emission. Bound exciton complex related amplified spontaneous emission is observed in a single CdS nanoribbon with well-defined elliptical cross sections and optimized width/thickness ratio ∼1.45. Polarized Raman and TEM confirmed that the nanoribbon with the elliptical cross section adopts the [0002] growth direction with good quality. The results suggest that the cross section resonant cavity would be of importance for both fundamental and practical application of cavity quantum electrodynamics in CdS nanoribbon.

RESUMEN

Nesfatin-1 has been demonstrated to possess anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects in the rat brain with subarachnoid hemorrhage. The study was designed to investigate the influence of nesfatin-1 on inflammatory responses and neuronal cell apoptosis after traumatic brain injury. Wistar rats were subjected to 5, 10 or 20 µg/kg of nesfatin-1 at designed time points (0.5, 2, 4 or 8h after head trauma) intraperitoneally. Rats were sacrificed at hours 2, 6 and 12, as well as day 1, 2, 3 and 5 after head trauma. The administration of 10 or 20 µg/kg of nesfatin-1 at hour 0.5 after head trauma could significantly suppress gene expressions of nuclear factor kappa-B, lessen concentrations of tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-1beta and interleukin-6, diminish caspase-3 activity as well as reduce number of apoptotic neuronal cells in traumatic rat brain tissues (P<0.05), but the administration of 5 µg/kg of nesfatin-1 not (P>0.05). Moreover, 20 µg/kg nesfatin-1 also significantly suppressed the inflammation and neuronal cell apoptosis when applied 2, 4 or 8h after head trauma. However, a clear concentration-response or time-response relationship was not found. These findings suggest that nesfatin-1 may inhibit nuclear factor kappa-B-dependent inflammatory responses, and lessen caspase-3-mediated neuronal cell apoptosis after traumatic brain injury in rats.

RESUMEN

Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) has been used to study the spectral properties of tyrosine at room temperature. The terahertz spectra of sample were observed. The result shows that the sample has the spectral response in terahertz spectral range, a fact demonstrating that the terahertz spectra of tyrosine could be used to study the molecular structure and vibration of sample. Two absorption peaks were found at 0.23 and 2.46 THz respectively for the first time. The corresponding theoretical spectra were given by using HF and DFT methods for both tyrosine monomer and dimmer. The difference between the theoretical and experimental results was analyzed in detail. The origin of the observed absorption at 0.23 THz was assigned to the wagging of the two tyrosine molecules linked by hydrogen bond.

RESUMEN

In the present paper the authors measured and analyzed the dispersion and absorption characteristics of the bulk ZnSe(110) in THz region using transmission THz time domain spectroscopy. After fitting the experiment data according to the Drude theory, the authors obtained the low-frequency dielectric constant and the high-frequency dielectric constant. The authors also observed the absorption by multi-phonon processes.
