RESUMEN

Cross beam fracture is one of the common failures of vibrating screens, and crack is the early manifestation of fracture, which is hard to detect. In order to meet the screening requirement of the vibrating screen and improve the service life of the cracked beam, the cracked Euler-Bernoulli beam model is established to investigate the dynamics of the cross beam with a straight crack under different weights of eccentric block, processing capacities, and Rayleigh damping coefficients based on the finite element method in this paper. The local flexibility coefficients are derived from the principles of fracture mechanics and strain release energy and solved by the adaptive five-point Gaussian Legende algorithm. The stiffness matrix of the cracked beam element is calculated through the inverse method of total flexibility. The four order Runge-Kutta algorithm and MATLAB tools are used to solve the dynamic equation of the cracked cross beam. The relationship between the vibration amplitude of the cracked cross beam and the weight of the eccentric block is studied by fitting formulas using the least squares method. The influence of different weights of eccentric block, processing capacities, and Rayleigh damping coefficients on the vibration amplitude and service life of the cracked beam are discussed. The results show that the greater the weight of the eccentric block, the shorter service life of the beam. When the damping is greater, the service life of the cracked beam is longer.

RESUMEN

The exploration of the spatiotemporal distribution of greenhouse gas (GHG) exchange in the cryosphere (including ice sheet, glaciers, and permafrost) is important for understanding its future feedback to the atmosphere. Mountain glaciers and ice sheets may be potential sources of GHG emissions, but the magnitude and distribution of GHG emissions from glaciers and ice sheets remain unclear because observation data are lacking. In this study, in situ CH4 and CO2 and the mixing ratios of their carbon isotope signatures in the air inside an ice cave were measured, and CH4 and CO2 exchange in the meltwater of Laohugou glacier No. 12, a high-mountain glacier in an arid region of western China, was also analyzed and compared with the exchange in downstream rivers and a reservoir. The results indicated elevated CH4 mixing ratios (up to 5.7 ppm) and depleted CO2 (down to 168 ppm) in the ice cave, compared to ambient levels during field observations. The CH4 and CO2 fluxes in surface meltwater of the glacier were extremely low compared with their fluxes in rivers from the Tibetan Plateau (TP). CH4 and CO2 mixing ratios in the air inside the ice cave were mainly controlled by local meteorological conditions (air temperature, wind speed and direction) and meltwater runoff. The carbon isotopic compositions of CH4 and CO2 in the ice cave and terminus meltwater indicated δ13C-CH4 depletion compared to ambient air, suggesting an acetate fermentation pathway. The abundances of key genes for methanogenic archaea/genes encoding methyl coenzyme M reductase further indicated the production of CH4 by methanogenic archaea from the subglacial meltwater of high-mountain glaciers. The discovery of CH4 emissions from even small high-mountain glaciers indicates a more prevalent characteristic of glaciers to produce and release CH4 from the subglacial environment than previously believed. Nevertheless, further research is required to understand the relationship between this phenomenon and glacial dynamics in the third pole.

RESUMEN

Carbonaceous aerosols play an important role in radiative forcing in the remote and climate-sensitive Tibetan Plateau (TP). However, the sources of carbonaceous aerosols to the TP remain poorly defined, in part due to the lack of regionally relevant data about the sources of carbonaceous aerosols. To address this knowledge gap, we present the first comprehensive analysis of the δ13C signatures of carbonaceous aerosol endmembers local to the TP, encompassing total carbon, water-insoluble particle carbon, and elemental carbon originating from fossil fuel combustion, biomass combustion, and topsoil. The δ13C signatures of these local carbonaceous endmembers differ from components collected in other regions of the world. For instance, fossil fuel-derived aerosols from the TP were 13C-depleted relative to fossil fuel-derived aerosols reported in other regions, while biomass fuel-derived aerosols from the TP were 13C-enriched relative to biomass fuel-derived aerosols reported in other regions. The δ13C values of fine-particle topsoil in the TP were related to regional variations in vegetation type. These findings enhance our understanding of the unique features of carbonaceous aerosols in the TP and aid in accurate source apportionment and environmental assessments of carbonaceous aerosols in this climate-sensitive region.

RESUMEN

Carbonaceous particles play a crucial role in atmospheric radiative forcing. However, our understanding of the behavior and sources of carbonaceous particles in remote regions remains limited. The Tibetan Plateau (TP) is a typical remote region that receives long-range transport of carbonaceous particles from severely polluted areas such as South Asia. Based on carbon isotopic compositions (Δ14C/δ13C) of water-insoluble particulate carbon (IPC) in total suspended particle (TSP), PM2.5, and precipitation samples collected during 2020-22 at the Nam Co Station, a remote site in the inner TP, the following results were achieved: First, fossil fuel contributions (ffossil) to IPC in TSP samples (28.60 ± 9.52 %) were higher than that of precipitation samples (23.11 ± 8.60 %), and it is estimated that the scavenging ratio of IPC from non-fossil fuel sources was around 2 times that from fossil fuel combustion during the monsoon season. The ffossil of IPC in both TSP and PM2.5 samples peaked during the monsoon season. Because heavy precipitation during the monsoon season scavenges large amounts of long-range transported carbonaceous particles, the contribution of local emissions from the TP largely outweighs that from South Asia during this season. The results of the IPC source apportionment based on Δ14C and δ13C in PM2.5 samples showed that the highest contribution of liquid fossil fuel combustion also occurred in the monsoon season, reflecting increased human activities (e.g., tourism) on the TP during this period. The results of this study highlight the longer lifetime of fossil fuel-sourced IPC in the atmosphere than that of non-fossil fuel sources in the inner TP and the importance of local emissions from the TP during the monsoon season. The findings provide new knowledge for model improvement and mitigation of carbonaceous particles.

RESUMEN

Vibration displacement is one of the key parameters in fault diagnosis of vibrating screens. Monitoring of acceleration signals of vibrating screens can be disturbed due to various factors such as on-site working conditions and equipment. In order to obtain accurate displacement signals of vibrating screen, the method for converting vibration acceleration to displacement based on improved Savitzky-Golay (S-G) filter is proposed. The Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is used to optimize the window length of the S-G filter with the fixed polynomial. The filters are cascaded to denoise the signals multiple times. The reasonable regularization parameter of the Smoothed Prior Approach (SPA) is calculated to remove the trend item from the acceleration signals. The vibration displacement is obtained by integrating the preprocessed acceleration data in the frequency domain. The results demonstrate that the objectivity of parameter selection of filter is improved, and the denoising effect is significant. The filtering effect of the filter is further improved after cascading. It becomes better as the number of stages of cascade increases. The vibration displacement can be obtained accurately by the proposed method. The vibration test platform is built to verify the correctness of the method.
