RESUMEN

Laser Raman spectrum method was used to study the hardness index of four water samples. The ratio of bending vibration peak intensity to stretching vibration peak intensity of these water samples was measured. The results showed that as the total hardness of water decreases, so does the ratio. This offers a possible new approach to water quality analysis that is both simple and effective.

RESUMEN

TiO(2) thin films doped with rare-earth samarium were prepared on a quartz plate by the sol-gel/spin-coating technique. The samples were annealed at 700 °C to 1100 °C, and the Raman spectra of the samples were obtained. Analyses of Raman spectra show that samarium doping can inhibit the anatase-rutile phase transition. Samarium doping can refine grains of TiO(2) thin films and increase the internal stress, thereby preventing lattice vibration. Nanocrystalline TiO(2) thin films obviously show the phonon confinement effect, i.e., the blueshift of characteristic Raman peak and full width at half-height increase, and the peak shapes asymmetrically broaden with a decrease in the grain sizes of the samples.

RESUMEN

In order to detect the drinking water quality in our country at the present time effectively, several brand brands of drinking water on the market and the distilled water that laboratory offered were measured and calculad were measured and calculated. The laser Raman spectra of samples were measured, while the sample's degree of degeneracy polarization at the symmetric stretching peak was calculated from the measurements. Results indicate that the relative intensity of the Raman spectrum and the degree of degeneracy polarization follow the same rule. Through comparison and analysis of the results of measurement and calculation, it is concluded that we can judge the relative content of mineral substance of drinking water by comparing the strengths of laser Raman spectrum characteristic peak and the magnitudes of the sample's degree of degeneracy polarization at the same characteristic peak. This conclusion will provide us a new and effective path to assaying the quality of drinking water.
