RESUMEN

Rechargeable aqueous zinc-ion batteries (RAZIBs) offer low cost, high energy density, and safety but struggle with anode corrosion and dendrite formation. Gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs) with both high mechanical properties and excellent electrochemical properties are a powerful tool to aid the practical application of RAZIBs. In this work, guided by a machine learning (ML) model constructed based on experimental data, polyacrylamide (PAM) with a highly entangled structure was chosen to prepare GPEs for obtaining high-performance RAZIBs. By controlling the swelling degree of the PAM, the obtained GPEs effectively suppressed the growth of Zn dendrites and alleviated the corrosion of Zn metal caused by water molecules, thus improving the cycling lifespan of the Zn anode. These results indicate that using ML models based on experimental data can effectively help screen battery materials, while highly entangled PAMs are excellent GPEs capable of balancing mechanical and electrochemical properties.

Objective: The Scales for Outcomes in Parkinson's Disease-Cognition (SCOPA-Cog) was developed to screen for cognition in PD. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Korean version of the SCOPA-cog. Methods: We recruited 129 PD patients from 31 clinics with movement disorders in South Korea. The original version of the SCOPA-cognition was translated into Korean using the translation-retranslation method. The test-rest method with an intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) and Cronbach's alpha coefficient were used to assess reliability. The Spearman's Rank correlation analysis with Montreal Cognitive Assessment-Korean version (MOCA-K) and Korean Mini-Mental State Examination (K-MMSE) were used to assess concurrent validity. Results: The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was 0.797, and the ICC was 0.887. Spearman's rank correlation analysis showed a significant correlation with the K-MMSE and MOCA-K scores (r = 0.546 and r = 0.683, respectively). Conclusions: Our results demonstrate that K-SCOPA-Cog exhibits good reliability and validity.

Background: Chloride channel-3 (CLCN3), a crucial component of the voltage-gated chloride channel family, is implicated in numerous physiological and pathophysiological processes. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of CLCN3 in pancancer and its influence on the immune response through the use of a range of databases. Concurrently, we assessed the impact of CLCN3 on the proliferation of ovarian cancer (OC) cells and explored its potential mechanisms. Methods: We employed the Tumor Immune Estimation Resource (TIMER) 2.0 and Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC) databases to examine the messenger RNA (mRNA) and the protein expression of CLCN3 across various cancers. The prognostic significance of CLCN3 was evaluated using the Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis 2.0 (GEPIA 2.0) database. The University of Alabama at Birmingham Cancer Data Analysis Portal (UALCAN) facilitated the analysis of CLCN3 promoter methylation levels. The association between CLCN3 expression and tumor-infiltrating immune cells was investigated using various algorithms. The cBioportal database facilitated the analysis of CLCN3 mutations and mutation sites across various cancers. The Tumor-Immune System Interactions Database (TISIDB) database was employed to explore the correlation between CLCN3 expression and immune or molecular subtypes across a variety of cancer types. We collected ovarian tissue samples, encompassing both normal ovarian and OC tissues. The human OC cell lines, SKOV3 cells and OVCAR433 cells, were cultured. CLCN3 expression was determined via reverse-transcription quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR), while phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt kinase (PI3K/AKT) expression was detected using Western blot. We utilized small interfering RNA (siRNA) technology to suppress CLCN3 expression. The proliferative capacity of SKOV3 and OVCAR433 cells was assessed using the Cell Counting Kit 8 (CCK-8) assay. Results: CLCN3 demonstrated an aberrant expression in a number of cancer types and was markedly reduced in OC tissues. Poor prognosis in cervical squamous cell cancer and myeloid leukemia was linked to excessive expression of CLCN3. The examination of immune cell infiltration, which included CD8+ T cells, B cells, T regulatory cells, and cancer-associated fibroblast cells, showed a strong association with aberrant CLCN3 expression. Following the use of siRNA technology, the ability of the ovarian carcinoma cell line SKOV3 and OVCAR433 to proliferate as well as the expression of PI3K/AKT both increased. Conclusions: CLCN3 is a possible biomarker for immune-related processes and the prognosis of cancer, and the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway may affect OC cells' ability to proliferate.

Hard carbons are emerging as the most viable anodes to support the commercialization of sodium-ion (Na-ion) batteries due to their competitive performance. However, the hard carbon anode suffers from low initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE), and the ambiguous Na-ion (Na+) storage mechanism and interfacial chemistry fail to give a reasonable interpretation. Here, we have identified the time-dependent ion pre-desolvation on the nanopore of hard carbons, which significantly affects the Na+ storage efficiency by altering the solvation structure of electrolytes. Consummating the pre-desolvation by extending the aging time, generates a highly aggregated electrolyte configuration inside the nanopore, resulting in negligible reductive decomposition of electrolytes. When applying the above insights, the hard carbon anodes achieve a high average ICE of 98.21% in the absence of any Na supplementation techniques. Therefore, the negative-to-positive capacity ratio can be reduced to 1.02 for full cells, which enables an improved energy density. The insight into hard carbons and related interphases may be extended to other battery systems and support the continued development of battery technology.

Neonatal mouse hearts can regenerate post-injury, unlike adult hearts that form fibrotic scars. The mechanism of thyroid hormone signaling in cardiac regeneration warrants further study. We found that triiodothyronine impairs cardiomyocyte proliferation and heart regeneration in neonatal mice after apical resection. Single-cell RNA-Sequencing on cardiac CD45-positive leukocytes revealed a pro-inflammatory phenotype in monocytes/macrophages after triiodothyronine treatment. Furthermore, we observed that cardiomyocyte proliferation was inhibited by medium from triiodothyronine-treated macrophages, while triiodothyronine itself had no direct effect on the cardiomyocytes in vitro. Our study unveils a novel role of triiodothyronine in mediating the inflammatory response that hinders heart regeneration.

As a progressive electronic energy storage device, the flexible supercapacitor holds tremendous promise for powering wearable/portable electronic products. Of various pseudocapacitor materials, vanadium dioxide (VO2) has garnered extensive attention due to its impressive theoretical capacitance. However, the challenges of inferior cycling life and lower energy density to be addressed. Herein, we prepare VO2 nanorods with winding carbon nanotubes (CNT) via a facile solvothermal route, followed by in situ polymerization of polyaniline (PANI) shell. Taking full advantage of the synergistic effect, the VO2/CNT@PANI composite delivers a high specific capacitance of 354.2F/g at 0.5 A/g and a long cycling life of âˆ¼ 88.2 % over 5000 cycles resulting from the enhanced conductivity of CNT and stabilization of PANI shell. By screen printing the formulated inks with outstanding rheological behaviours, we manufacture an in-planar VO2/CNT@PANI symmetric supercapacitor (VO2/CNT@PANI SSC) device featuring an orderly arrangement structure. This device yields a remarkable areal energy density of 99.57 µWh/cm2 at a power density of 387.5 µW/cm2 while retaining approximately âˆ¼ 87.6 % of its initial capacitance after prolonged use. Furthermore, we successfully powered a portable game machine for more than 2 min using two SSCs connected in series with ease. Therefore, this work presents a universal strategy that utilises combination and coating to boost electrochemical performance for flexible high-performance supercapacitors.

In this retrospective study conducted at Sichuan Jinxin Xinan Women and Children's Hospital spanning January 2015 to December 2021, our objective was to investigate the impact of embryo cryopreservation duration on outcomes in frozen embryo transfer. Participants, totaling 47,006 cycles, were classified into 3 groups based on cryopreservation duration: ≤1 year (Group 1), 1 to 6 years (Group 2), and ≥6 years (Group 3). Employing various statistical analyses, including 1-way ANOVA, Kruskal-Wallis test, chi-square test, and a generalized estimating equation model, we rigorously adjusted for confounding factors. Primary outcomes encompassed clinical pregnancy rate and Live Birth Rate (LBR), while secondary outcomes included biochemical pregnancy rate, multiple pregnancy rate, ectopic pregnancy rate, early and late miscarriage rates, preterm birth rate, neonatal birth weight, weeks at birth, and newborn sex. Patient distribution across cryopreservation duration groups was as follows: Group 1 (40,461 cycles), Group 2 (6337 cycles), and Group 3 (208 cycles). Postcontrolling for confounding factors, Group 1 exhibited a decreased likelihood of achieving biochemical pregnancy rate, clinical pregnancy rate, and LBR (OR < 1, aOR < 1, P < .05). Furthermore, an elevated incidence of ectopic pregnancy was observed (OR > 1, aOR > 1), notably significant after 6 years of freezing time [aOR = 4.141, 95% confidence intervals (1.013-16.921), P = .05]. Cryopreservation exceeding 1 year was associated with an increased risk of early miscarriage and preterm birth (OR > 1, aOR > 1). No statistically significant differences were observed in birth weight or sex between groups. However, male infant birth rates were consistently higher than those of female infants across all groups. In conclusion, favorable pregnancy outcomes align with embryo cryopreservation durations within 1 year, while freezing for more than 1 year may diminish clinical pregnancy and LBRs, concurrently elevating the risk of ectopic pregnancy and preterm birth.

INTRODUCTION: Allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) plays a pivotal role in altering the immune status and tissue responses in allergic rhinitis (AR). This study focuses on the impact of sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) involving dust mite drops, exploring the modulation of regulatory T cells (Treg) and their specific marker, BLIMP1, in the nasal mucosa. METHODS: Immune cells were isolated from nasal lavage fluid of patients with AR undergoing SLIT (n = 94). Treg cells were analyzed for BLIMP1 expression, and chemokine levels associated with Treg recruitment were assessed using Luminex assay. Patients were categorized on the basis of SLIT efficacy and followed for changes after discontinuation. RESULTS: SLIT induced a significant increase in nasal Treg cells (7.09 ± 2.59% vs. 0.75 ± 0.27%, P < 0.0001). BLIMP1 expression in Treg cells notably increased after SLIT (0.36 ± 0.22% to 16.86 ± 5.74%, P < 0.0001). Ineffective SLIT cases exhibited lower levels of nasal Treg and Blimp1 + Treg cells (both P < 0.0001). Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis confirmed their potential as efficacy predictors (AUC = 0.908 and 0.968, respectively). SLIT discontinuation led to a significant reduction in Treg and Blimp1 + Treg cells (P < 0.001), emphasizing their maintenance during treatment. Pro-inflammatory cytokines decreased (P < 0.001), while CCL2 associated with Treg recruitment increased (P = 0.0015). CONCLUSION: Elevated nasal Blimp1 + Treg cells serve as a predictive biomarker for SLIT responsiveness in pediatric AR. Their influence on immunotherapy effectiveness contributes to a nuanced understanding of SLIT mechanisms, allowing for disease stratification and personalized treatment plans. This study offers scientific support for predicting SLIT efficacy, enhancing the prospects of improved treatment outcomes in AR.

The antihistamine astemizole has shown disease-modifying effects in several preclinical disease models of Parkinson's disease (PD). Astemizole also interacts with an anomalous aggregation of Alzheimer's disease-related amyloid-ß (Aß) peptide and has inhibitory activity on the human prion protein PrPSc. We hypothesized that the proposed preclinical benefits of astemizole on PD can be associated with the attenuation of pathological α-synuclein (α-syn) aggregation. We tested the effects of astemizole on the fibrillation processes of amyloid peptides using thioflavin T aggregation monitoring, Congo red spectral analysis, cell viability study, and transmission electron microscopic imaging. We found that astemizole did not inhibit α-syn aggregation in vitro even at a high molar ratio but inhibited the assembly of Aß aggregates. Our results suggest that the inhibitory effect of astemizole on amyloid formation is target-protein selective, and the proposed beneficial effects of this compound observed in translational PD models might not be due to its ameliorating effects on α-syn aggregation.

Infertility is a major reproductive health problem. Approximately 50% of all documented cases of infertility are attributable to male factors, such as poor testicular function and semen quality. The recent significant global decline in sperm counts has serious implications for male fertility, but the armamentarium for improving testicular function and semen quality is limited. Natural products have a wide range of activities and are a major source of drugs for disease prevention and treatment. To provide ideas and a theoretical basis for the research and development of therapeutic drugs for male infertility, this review summarizes natural products (mostly monomers) that have been shown to improve testicular function and semen quality and their possible mechanisms of action. These natural products primarily improve testicular function and semen quality via antioxidant, antiapoptotic, and anti-inflammatory effects, in addition to increasing serum testosterone and reducing DNA damage in spermatozoa and testicular cells. Prospects for the application of natural products in the treatment of male infertility are discussed.

We aimed to investigate the longitudinal associations among carbohydrate intake types, genetic predisposition, and risk adult onset asthma (AOA). A dataset of 96,487 participants from UK Biobank was included with 1830 cases of incident AOA during an average follow-up of 9.68 years. Participants with the highest intake of total sugar, free sugar, and fiber intake, as compared to those with the lowest intake of total sugar, free sugar, and fiber intake, showed a 17 % and 22 % increased risk of incident AOA, and a 16 % decreased risk of AOA, respectively. Substitution of 5 % energy from free sugars with 5 % energy from non-free sugars was associated with a significantly lower risk of AOA (Hazard Ratio [HR] = 0.93, 95 % Confidence Interval [CI]: 0.88, 0.99). Participants with high genetic risk and the highest intake of free sugar showed a 112 % (HR = 2.12, 95%CI: 1.68, 2.68) increased risk of incident AOA. Participants with low genetic risk and highest intake of fiber showed a 50 % (HR = 0.50, 95%CI: 0.39, 0.64) reduced risk of AOA. This study highlights the critical role of carbohydrate types in AOA prevention, with an emphasis on reduced free sugar, moderate non-free sugar, and increased fiber intake.

Germinated flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) is an essential potential food ingredient, but the major energy substances (proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates) metabolites and metabolic pathways are unknown. Comprehensive metabolomic analyses were performed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and high-performance liquid chromatography mass spectrometry on flaxseed from 0 to 7 d. Additionally, the critical metabolites pathways networks of three energy substances metabolites during flaxseed germination were exhibited. The results showed that arginine was the most active metabolite during germination, strongly associated with the arginine biosynthesis and arginine and proline metabolism pathways. Carbohydrates predominantly comprised sucrose on 0-3 d, which participated in galactose metabolism and starch and sucrose metabolism. The main flaxseed phospholipid molecules were phosphatidic acid, phosphatidylethanolamine, lysophosphatidic acid, and lysophosphatidylcholine during germination. This study underscores the paramount metabolic pathways in proteins, lipids and carbohydrates were arginine and proline metabolism, linoleic acid metabolism, arachidonic acid metabolism, and ascorbate and aldarate metabolism during germination.

The heterogeneity, species diversity, and poor mechanical stability of solid electrolyte interphases (SEIs) in conventional carbonate electrolytes result in the irreversible exhaustion of lithium (Li) and electrolytes during cycling, hindering the practical applications of Li metal batteries (LMBs). Herein, this work proposes a solvent-phobic dynamic liquid electrolyte interphase (DLEI) on a Li metal (Li-PFbTHF (perfluoro-butyltetrahydrofuran)) surface that selectively transports salt and induces salt-derived SEI formation. The solvent-phobic DLEI with C-F-rich groups dramatically reduces the side reactions between Li, carbonate solvents, and humid air, forming a LiF/Li3PO4-rich SEI. In situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and Ab-initio molecular dynamics demonstrate that DLEI effectively stabilizes the interface between Li metal and the carbonate electrolyte. Specifically, the LiFePO4||Li-PFbTHF cells deliver 80.4% capacity retention after 1000 cycles at 1.0 C, excellent rate capacity (108.2 mAh g-1 at 5.0 C), and 90.2% capacity retention after 550 cycles at 1.0 C in full-cells (negative/positive (N/P) ratio of 8) with high LiFePO4 loadings (15.6 mg cm-2) in carbonate electrolyte. In addition, the 0.55 Ah pouch cell of 252.0 Wh kg-1 delivers stable cycling. Hence, this study provides an effective strategy for controlling salt-derived SEI to improve the cycling performances of carbonate-based LMBs.

OBJECTIVE: Parkinson's disease (PD) patients often find it difficult to visit hospitals because of motor symptoms, distance to the hospital, or the absence of caregivers. Telemedicine is one way to solve this problem. METHODS: We surveyed 554 PD patients from eight university hospitals in Korea. The questionnaire consisted of the clinical characteristics of the participants, possible teleconferencing. METHODS: , and preferences for telemedicine. RESULTS: A total of 385 patients (70%) expressed interest in receiving telemedicine. Among them, 174 preferred telemedicine whereas 211 preferred in-person visits. The longer the duration of disease, and the longer the time required to visit the hospital, the more patients were interested in receiving telemedicine. CONCLUSION: This is the first study on PD patients' preferences regarding telemedicine in Korea. Although the majority of patients with PD have a positive view of telemedicine, their interest in receiving telemedicine depends on their different circumstances.

The potato cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) is an obligate root pathogen of potatoes. G. rostochiensis encodes several highly expanded effector gene families, including the Gr4D06 family; however, little is known about the function of this effector family. We cloned four 29D09 genes from G. rostochiensis (named Gr29D09v1/v2/v3/v4) that share high sequence similarity and are homologous to the Hg29D09 and Hg4D06 effector genes from the soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines). Phylogenetic analysis revealed that Gr29D09 genes belong to a subgroup of the Gr4D06 family. We showed that Gr29D09 genes are expressed exclusively within the nematode's dorsal gland cell and are dramatically upregulated in parasitic stages, indicating involvement of Gr29D09 effectors in nematode parasitism. Transgenic potato lines overexpressing Gr29D09 variants showed increased susceptibility to G. rostochiensis. Transient expression assays in Nicotiana benthamiana demonstrated that Gr29D09v3 could suppress reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and defense gene expression induced by flg22 and cell death mediated by immune receptors. These results suggest a critical role of Gr29D09 effectors in defense suppression. The use of affinity purification coupled with nanoliquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry identified potato hexokinase 1 (StHXK1) as a candidate target of Gr29D09. The Gr29D09-StHXK1 interaction was further confirmed using in planta protein-protein interaction assays. Plant HXKs have been implicated in defense regulation against pathogen infection. Interestingly, we found that StHXK1 could enhance flg22-induced ROS production, consistent with a positive role of plant HXKs in defense. Altogether, our results suggest that targeting StHXK1 by Gr29D09 effectors may impair the positive function of StHXK1 in plant immunity, thereby aiding nematode parasitism. Selenium (Se), an indispensable micronutrient for living organisms, has been extensively studied for its heavy metal-detoxifying properties in diverse biological systems and tissues. Nevertheless, it is not entirely certain whether Se can effectively protect against Cadmium (Cd)-induced gut inflammation, especially in aquatic animals. In this study, we employed various approaches, including transcriptome profiling, histological examinations, assessment of antioxidant enzyme activities, and analysis of gut microbiota composition to investigate the effects on crayfish growth and intestinal health after exposure to dietary Cd (15 mg kg-1 diet) and Se (15 mg kg-1 diet) individually or in combination for 8 weeks. The results revealed that dietary Cd exposure resulted in reduced body weight and survival rates, along with an increased occurrence of intestinal inflammation. Nevertheless, Se supplementation proved effective in mitigating the adverse effects of Cd on growth and gut health. Se exhibited a remarkable ability to counteract the disruption of gut antioxidant abilities induced by dietary Cd, as evidenced by the observed increases in ROS and MDA contents, decrease in GSH levels, and inhibition of antioxidative enzyme activities. At the concentration of 6 mg kg-1 in the diet, Se was found beneficial for maintaining gut microbiota richness and diversity. Among them, Flavobacterium, Thermomonas, and Chloronema displayed a weak negative correlation with the rate of gut inflammation. Meanwhile, the levels of short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), including acetic acid (AA) and butanoic acid (BA), showed a significant increase in the Se-Cd group compared to the Cd-only group. Furthermore, transcriptome analysis exhibited significant responses of the PI3K/Akt and NF-κB pathways following crayfish exposure to dietary Se and Cd, either separately or in combination. In short, this study provides a new evidence regarding the molecular mechanisms through which Se could regulate the PI3K/Akt and NF-κB pathways, either directly or indirectly via ROS and SCFAs, thereby alleviating Cd-induced gut inflammation in crayfish.

AIMS: To elucidate the clinical determinants of the coefficient of variation (CV) of glucose by analysing the pancreatic ß-cell function of subjects with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). METHODS: A total of 716 Chinese subjects with T2DM were included. Continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) was used to assess blood glucose, and the CV was calculated. C-peptide concentration at 0, 0.5, 1, 2 and 3 hours (Cp0h, Cp0.5h, Cp1h, Cp2h and Cp3h, respectively) was measured after a standard 100-g steamed bun meal test to assess pancreatic ß-cell function. The determinants of glucose variability defined by the CV of CGM values were explored from two perspectives: the CV of qualitative variables and the CV of quantitative variables. RESULTS: Our data revealed that C-peptide concentration (Cp0h, Cp0.5h, Cp1h, Cp2h, Cp3h), area under the curve for C-peptide concentration at 0.5 and 3 hours (AUC-Cp0.5h and AUC-Cp3h) decreased with increasing CV quartile (P < 0.05). The CV was negatively correlated with homeostatic model assessment of ß-cell function index, C-peptide concentration at all timepoints, and AUC-Cp0.5h and AUC-Cp3h (P < 0.001). Quantile regression analysis showed that AUC-Cp0.5h had an overall negative effect on the CV in the 0.05 to 0.95 quartiles, and AUC-Cp3h tended to have a negative effect on the CV in the 0.2 to 0.65 quartiles. After adjusting for confounders, multinomial logistic regression showed that each 1-unit increase in AUC-Cp0.5h was associated with a 31.7% reduction in the risk of unstable glucose homeostasis (CV > 36%; P = 0.036; odds ratio 0.683; 95% confidence interval 0.478-0.976). We also identified the AUC-Cp0.5h (0.735 ng/mL) and AUC-Cp3h (13.355 ng/mL) cut-off values for predicting unstable glucose homeostasis (CV >36%) in T2DM subjects. CONCLUSION: Our study suggests that impaired pancreatic ß-cell function may be a clinical determining factor of CV of glucose in people with T2DM.

Fishmeal is an important protein source for largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides). However, the production of fishmeal is decreasing each year and the price of fishmeal is rising. Therefore, it is necessary to find new high-quality and suitable protein sources. This study used a mixed animal protein source (chicken meal:blood meal:shrimp meal:brewer's yeast = 50:12.5:25:12.5) to replace fishmeal. Using a 48 % fishmeal group as the control, five diets with different fishmeal levels (FM48, FM44, FM40, FM36, FM32) were established to determine the effects on largemouth bass growth performance, liver health and intestinal health. There were no significant differences in the percentage weight gain, specific growth rate, feed conversion rate, and condition factor of largemouth bass, but the hepatosomatic and viscerosomatic indexes were significantly decreased when the dietary fishmeal level was reduced to 40 %. The content of taurine, glycine, and histidine was significantly reduced in the muscle of largemouth bass fed the FM32 diet compared with those fed the FM48 and FM44 diets. Mixed protein feed reduced the total bile acid content and increased the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol content in the plasma of largemouth bass. The replacement of fishmeal with the mixed protein source inhibited the expression of tnf-α and caspase 3 and enhanced the expression of apoa1 in the liver, as well as enhancing the protein expression of FXR and SREBP and inhibiting the protein expression of P-PPARA in the liver. The intestinal pparα expression was suppressed when dietary fishmeal was replaced. When dietary fishmeal decreased, the mucosal folds height and muscle layer thickness also decreased. In conclusion, partial replacement of fishmeal with the mixed protein source did not affect the growth performance, while lipid metabolism and intestinal health were negatively affected when dietary fishmeal levels were below 36 %.

Batteries based on zinc (Zn) chemistry offer a great opportunity for large-scale applications owing to their safety, cost-effectiveness, and environmental friendliness. However, the poor Zn reversibility and inhomogeneous electrodeposition have greatly impeded their practical implementation, stemming from water-related passivation/corrosion. Here, we present a multifunctional electrolyte comprising gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) and Zn(BF4)2·xH2O to resolve these intrinsic challenges. The systematic results confirm that water reactivity toward a Zn anode is minimized by forcing GBL solvents into the Zn2+ solvation shell and constructing a fluorinated interphase on the Zn anode surface via anion decomposition. Furthermore, NMR was selected as an auxiliary testing protocol to elevate and understand the role of electrolyte composition in building the interphase. The combined factors in synergy guarantee high Zn reversibility (average Coulombic efficiency is 99.74%), high areal capacity (55 mAh/cm2), and high Zn utilization (∼91%). Ultimately, these merits enable the Zn battery utilizing a VO2 cathode to operate smoothly over 5000 cycles with a low-capacity decay rate of ∼0.0083% per cycle and a 0.23 Ah VO2/Zn pouch cell to operate over 400 cycles with a capacity retention of 77.3%.

Artificial intelligence (AI) applications on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) are becoming increasingly popular. In this bibliometric study, we aimed to analyze the characteristics of publications relevant to the research of AI in RA, thereby developing a thorough overview of this research topic. Web of Science was used to retrieve publications on the application of AI in RA from 2003 to 2022. Bibliometric analysis and visualization were performed using Microsoft Excel (2019), R software (4.2.2) and VOSviewer (1.6.18). The overall distribution of yearly outputs, leading countries, top institutions and authors, active journals, co-cited references and keywords were analyzed. A total of 859 relevant articles were identified in the Web of Science with an increasing trend. USA and China were the leading countries in this field, accounting for 71.59% of publications in total. Harvard University was the most influential institution. Arthritis Research & Therapy was the most active journal. Primary topics in this field focused on estimating the risk of developing RA, diagnosing RA using sensor, clinical, imaging and omics data, identifying the phenotype of RA patients using electronic health records, predicting treatment response, tracking the progression of the disease and predicting prognosis and developing new drugs. Machine learning and deep learning algorithms were the recent research hotspots and trends in this field. AI has potential applications in various fields of RA, including the risk assessment, screening, early diagnosis, monitoring, prognosis determination, achieving optimal therapeutic outcomes and new drug development for RA patients. Incorporating machine learning and deep learning algorithms into real-world clinical practice will be a future research hotspot and trend for AI in RA. Extensive collaboration to improve model maturity and robustness will be a critical step in the advancement of AI in healthcare.
