RESUMEN

PURPOSE: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify whether E-health interventions effectively improve physical activity (PA) in cancer survivors. METHODS: PubMed, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases were searched from inception to October 21, 2023. Randomized controlled trials reporting the effect of E-health interventions on PA among cancer survivors were included. Random-effect models were used to calculate standardized mean differences (SMD) and the 95% confidence interval (CI). RESULTS: In total, 15 trials with 2,291 cancer survivors were included in this meta-analysis. The results showed that E-health interventions improved moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) among cancer survivors (SMD = 0.26, 95% CI 0.08, 0.43, N = 8, p < 0.001, I2 = 37%), as well as moderate physical activity (MPA) (SMD = 0.22, 95% CI 0.05, 0.38, N = 9, p < 0.001, I2 = 28%) and vigorous physical activity (VPA) (SMD = 0.34, 95% CI 0.15, 0.54, N = 6, p < 0.001, I2 = 11%). CONCLUSION: E-health interventions are effective at promoting PA among cancer survivors. As current research primarily focuses on immediate post-intervention measurements with limited follow-up data, further investigation is required to explore the long-term effects of E-health interventions on PA.

RESUMEN

We investigate the prospective the association of gestational cardiovascular health (CVH) with infant neurodevelopment, and whether such relation was mediated by cord blood metabolites. The data come from the prospective birth cohort study in Hefei of Anhui, China. A total of 1714 mother-infant pairs are included from March 2018 and June 2021. CVH was evaluated at 24 to 28 gestational weeks by the combination of five metrics: body mass index, blood pressure, total cholesterol, glucose, and smoking. Cord blood samples were collected at delivery for the detection of related indicators. Infant neurodevelopment at 12 months was assessed by the Ages and Stages Questionnaire Edition 3 (ASQ-3). We stratified the status of CVH into three levels, ideal, intermediate, and poor. Compared with the ideal CVH, poor CVH was associated with infant communication domain failure (RR = 2.06; 95 %CI, 1.24-3.42) and cord blood C-peptide levels (ß = 0.09; 95 %CI, 0.06-0.13) were higher. Cord blood C-peptide level with infant communication domain failure risk increased (RR = 3.43, 95 %CI: 2.11-5.58). Mediation analysis showed that cord blood C-peptide mediated 13.9 % of the effect. Key findings indicated that maternal poor CVH at 24 to 28 weeks gestation was associated with an increased risk of infant neurodevelopment at ASQ-3 failure in the communication domain, and cord blood C-peptide might mediate this association. The findings, if confirmed by replications, specific nursing cares among pregnant women with poor CVH, might have implications for the offspring neurodevelopment prevention strategies targeting.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Interpregnancy interval (IPI) is associated with a variety of adverse maternal and infant outcomes. However, reports of its associations with early infant neurodevelopment are limited and the mechanisms of this association have not been elucidated. Maternal-fetal glucose metabolism has been shown to be associated with infant neurodevelopmental. The objective of this study was to determine whether this metabolism plays a role in the relationship between IPI and neurodevelopment. METHODS: This prospective birth cohort study included 2599 mother-infant pairs. The IPI was calculated by subtracting the gestational age of the current pregnancy from the interval at the end of the previous pregnancy. Neurodevelopmental outcomes at 12 months in infants were assessed by the Ages and Stages Questionnaire Edition 3 (ASQ-3). Maternal fasting venous blood was collected at 24-28 weeks and cord blood was collected at delivery. The association between IPI and neurodevelopment was determined by logistic regression. Mediation and sensitivity analyses were also conducted. RESULTS: In our cohort, 14.0% had an IPI < 12 months. IPI < 12 months increased the failure of the communication domain, fine motor domain, and personal social domain of the ASQ (relative risks (RRs) with 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.73 [1.11,2.70]; 1.73 [1.10,2.72]; 1.51 [1.00,2.29]). Maternal homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) and cord blood C-peptide was significantly associated with failure in the communication domain [RRs with 95% CI: 1.15 (1.02, 1.31); 2.15 (1.26, 3.67)]. The proportion of the association between IPI and failure of the communication domain risk mediated by maternal HOMA-IR and cord blood C-peptide was 14.4%. CONCLUSIONS: IPI < 12 months was associated with failing the communication domain in infants. Maternal-fetal glucose metabolism abnormality may partially explain the risk of neurodevelopmental delay caused by short IPI.

RESUMEN

Nickel (Ni) is considered a toxic metal, and excessive exposure can cause kidney damage. This study was designed to explore whether nickel chloride (NiCl2) can induce cell pyroptosis and its possible mechanism. Here, we found that NiCl2 treatment could reduce the kidney index and result in kidney damage. Meanwhile, NiCl2 could obviously induce renal pyroptosis, which was characterized by an increase in IL-18, IL-1ß, NLRP3, and GSDMD expression. Furthermore, NiCl2 induced pyroptosis through the Nrf2/NLRP3 pathway which featured down-regulated protein and mRNA expression levels of Nrf2 and up-regulated protein and mRNA expression levels of Caspase-1, NLRP3, and GSDMD. In summary, excessive Ni exposure can induce renal cell pyroptosis, ultimately leading to kidney tissue damage and hindering normal development, and its possible mechanism may be due to the inhibition of the Nrf2 pathway.

RESUMEN

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a malignant tumor with a high rate of recurrence and m metastasis that does not respond well to current therapies and has a very poor prognosis. Disulfidptosis is a novel mode of cell death that has been analyzed as a novel therapeutic target for HCC cells. Methods: This study integrated bulk ribonucleic acid (RNA) sequencing datasets, spatial transcriptomics (ST), and single-cell RNA sequencing to explore the landscape of disulfidptosis and the immune microenvironment of HCC cells. Results: We developed a novel model to predict the prognosis of patients with HCC based on disulfidptosis. The model has good stability, applicability, and prognostic and immune response prediction abilities. N-myc downregulated gene1 (NDRG1) may contribute to poor prognosis by affecting macrophage differentiation, thus allowing HCC cells to evade the immune system. Conclusion: Our study explores the disulfidptosis of HCC cells through multi-omics and establishes a new putative model that explores possible targets for HCC treatment.

RESUMEN

Social support refers to the subjective and (or) objective influence of various social relationships on individuals, which has a certain influence on the negative emotions of the kidney transplant patients. But there are still significant differences among various studies, so we performed a meta-analysis to analyze the social support degree of kidney transplant recipients. This article searched and selected the relevant cross-sectional surveys from PubMed, Embase, VIP, CNKI, Wanfang, and CBM databases according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria and used the STROBE list combined with the observational research quality evaluation tools of Sanderson to conduct the quality appraisal. The "meta" and "metaphor" packages of the R software version 3.5.1 were used for the meta-analysis. A total of 17 studies with 2697 patients were included. The total scores of the social support and objective support of the renal transplant patients were abundant after the operation, indicating that the economic, physical, and emotional supports from the family, society, and the official organization are accepted. But the subjective support and support utilization degree were general. The support utilization was different among different genders, and female patients were lower than the males. In particular, the female patients relatively presented autism and the social support utilization degree was low. Medical staffs are needed to join the family, hospital, and society to create favorable conditions and improve the social support system and the utilization degree of the social support, thereby promoting the physical and mental health development of the patients.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Previous studies showed that transitional care reduces the complication rate and readmission rate and improves the quality of life in kidney transplant receipts, nevertheless, in fact there are no standard evaluation indexes and debatable scientific of existing indexes in kidney transplant recipients. Therefore, the aim of this study was to construct an evaluation index system to assess the effects of transitional care in kidney transplant recipients. METHODS: Based on Omaha system, an initial evaluation index system about the effects of transitional care in kidney transplant recipients was drafted by the literature review and semi-structured interview. Two rounds of correspondence were conducted in 19 experts and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to calculate the weights of all indexes. RESULTS: Five first-level indexes, sixteen second-level indexes, and forty-eight third-level indexes were selected in the initial evaluation index system. The authority coefficient of two-round expert consultations was 0.90 and coordination coefficients of indexes ranged from 0.24 to 0.34. CONCLUSION: The established evaluation index system for the effectiveness of transitional care for kidney transplant recipients was scientific and reliable. Furthermore, it would be a potential method to evaluate effects of transitional care in kidney transplant recipients after further examination.

RESUMEN

Endothelial-cell (EC) apoptosis serves a vital role in the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis. Accumulating evidence has implicated microRNA (miRNA/miR) dysregulation in EC apoptosis. Although the role of miR-454-3p in carcinogenesis has been well documented, its role and underlying mechanism in EC apoptosis remain unclear. In the present study, the results revealed that miR-454-3p expression was substantially downregulated in human aortic endothelial cells (HAECs) following oxidized low-density lipoprotein (ox-LDL) treatment. miR-454-3p suppression significantly attenuated the viability of HAECs, while miR-454-3p overexpression repressed ox-LDL-induced HAEC apoptosis. Bioinformatics analysis and luciferase reporter assays revealed that transient receptor potential canonical 3 (TRPC3), a key regulator of atherosclerosis development, was the direct target of miR-454-3p. Furthermore, TRPC3 overexpression abolished the anti-apoptotic effect of miR-454-3p on HAECs. These results revealed a novel role of miR-454-3p in ox-LDL-induced apoptosis in HAECs.

RESUMEN

In the present study, a novel synthetic strategy to directly produce versatile 3-acylindoles through Rh(III)-catalyzed C-H activation and annulation cascade of N-phenylamidines with α-Cl ketones was developed, in which α-Cl ketones serve as unusual one-carbon (sp3) synthons. This strategy features high regioselectivity, efficiency, wide substrate tolerance, and mild reaction conditions, which further underscore its synthetic utility in drug molecule synthesis.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Ultrasound-guided cannulation of deep mid-arm veins by a modified Seldinger (US-Seldinger) technique has been demonstrated to yield better puncture success rates and lower postoperative complication rates than direct cannulation of superficial veins near the elbow with a short peripheral cannula and peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) insertion through the cannula (non-US conventional method). Economic factors have been evaluated across different operators (i.e. nurses, radiologists, and general practitioners) and different venous catheter types (i.e. PICCs vs. central venous catheters). However, to our knowledge, data describing the economic evaluation on the aforementioned modified Seldinger technique are lacking. Hence, the aim of this study was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of US-Seldinger technique (experimental group) compared with that of the non-US conventional method based on direct vein visualization (control group). RESULTS: A cohort of 360 subjects were assigned randomly to the experimental and control groups. Cost-effectiveness ratio (CER) analyses indicated that the effectiveness index (EI) for the experimental group was 89.29% (final CER = 3732.75), whereas that for the control group was 59.18% (final CER = 2492.98). CONCLUSION: The US-Seldinger technique was found to be more cost-effective than the non-US conventional method. These findings support the use of the former in place of the traditional latter technique as a routine puncture technique and suggest that the update would improve intravenous therapy treatment for patients needing PICCs. This study should serve as a reference for national healthcare policy. Trial registration ChiCTR-TRC-14004993.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the factors related to anxiety and depression in patients undergoing adrenalectomy. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: From October 2011 to October 2014, 220 consecutive inpatients undergoing adrenalectomy were enrolled in this study. Documented informed consent for the study was obtained from each subject. All subjects completed a detailed questionnaires for information of sociodemographics, the Zung self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), the Zung self-rating depression scale (SDS) before operations, and three days after operations. RESULTS: Univariate analysis showed that preoperative SAS and SDS scores were positively related to age (r=0.280, r=0.322, respectively, both P<0.001). And a high degree of preoperative anxiety or depression was correlated with their low level of educational status, and with the occurrence of religious faith. The same negative relation was found between SAS/SDS and level of educational status after operation. Multiple regression analysis revealed that age and level of educational status were related to preoperative SAS (ß=0.072, P<0.05 and ß=-0.838, P<0.05, respectively). The occurrence of laparoscopic operation was negatively related to preoperative SDS (ß=-1.932, P<0.05). Age, gender and other diseases were related to postoperative SAS. And other diseases were also related to postoperative SDS. CONCLUSIONS: The present study suggested that age, gender, other diseases, level of educational status, operation method were associated with anxiety or depression before or after operations. Individual traits should be taken into account when we intervene to treat anxiety and depression in patients undergoing adrenalectomy.
