RESUMEN

The design of aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs) that have high specific capacity and long-term stability is essential for future large-scale energy storage systems. Cathode materials with extended π-conjugation and abundant active sites are desirable to enhance the charge storage performance and the cycling stability of the aqueous ZIB. Based on this concept, 6,9-dihydropyrazino[2,3-g]quinoxaline-2,3,7,8(1H,4H)-tetrone was chosen as the monomer to be electropolymerized onto carbon cloth (PDHPQ-Tetrone/CC). When used as the cathode material for aqueous ZIBs, an exceptional cycling life (>20,000 cycles) at a current density of 10 A g-1 was achieved, with the specific capacity maintained at 82.8% and with the Coulombic efficiency at around 100% throughout cycling. At the charge-discharge current density of 0.1 A g-1, the ZIB with PDHPQ-Tetrone/CC achieved a high specific capacity of 248 mAh g-1. Kinetic analyses showed that both surface-capacitive-controlled processes and semi-infinite diffusion-controlled processes contribute to the stored charge. The charge storage mechanism was investigated with ex situ characterizations and involves the redox processes of carbonyl/hydroxyl and amino/imino groups coupled with insertion and extraction of both Zn2+ and H+.

RESUMEN

To clarify the cellular mechanism of cortical porosity induced by intermittent parathyroid hormone (PTH) administration, we examined the femoral cortical bone of mice that received 40 µg/kg/day (four times a day) human PTH (hPTH) (1-34). The PTH-driven cortical porosity initiated from the metaphyseal region and chronologically expanded toward the diaphysis. Alkaline phosphatase (ALP)-positive osteoblasts in the control mice covered the cortical surface, and endomucin-positive blood vessels were distant from these osteoblasts. In PTH-administered mice, endomucin-reactive blood vessels with TRAP-positive penetrated the ALP-positive osteoblast layer, invading the cortical bone. Statistically, the distance between endomucin-positive blood vessels and the cortical bone surface abated after PTH administration. Transmission electron microscopic observation demonstrated that vascular endothelial cells often pass through the flattened osteoblast layer and accompanied osteoclasts in the deep region of the cortical bone. The cell layers covering mature osteoblasts thickened with PTH administration and exhibited ALP, α-smooth muscle actin (αSMA), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM1), and receptor activator of NF-κB ligand (RANKL). Within these cell layers, osteoclasts were found near endomucin-reactive blood vessels. In PTH-administered femora, osteocytes secreted Dkk1, a Wnt inhibitor that affects angiogenesis, and blood vessels exhibited plasmalemma vesicle-associated protein, an angiogenic molecule. In summary, endomucin-positive blood vessels, when accompanied by osteoclasts in the ALP/αSMA/VCAM1/RANKL-reactive osteoblastic cell layers, invade the cortical bone, potentially due to the action of osteocyte-derived molecules such as DKK1.

RESUMEN

While the forests on Mount Taishan are predominantly man-made, there is a notable vertical variation in vegetation. This study employs the method of cloud model, quantifying uncertainty (fuzziness and randomness) of things. Utilizing digital elevation model (DEM) and vegetation distribution data, we constructed elevation cloud models for Mount Taishan's deciduous broad-leaved, temperate coniferous, and mixed coniferous-broadleaved forests. Using three numerical features of the cloud model-Expectation (EX), Entropy (EN), and Hyper-entropy (HE)-we quantitatively analyzed the macro regularity and local heterogeneity of Mount Taishan's forests vertical distribution from the perspective of uncertainty theory. The results indicate: (1) The EX of the core zone elevation of deciduous broad-leaved forest is 716.65 m, temperate coniferous forest is 1053.51 m, and mixed coniferous-broadleaved forest is 1384.09 m. The variation range of the core zone distribution height is smaller in the mixed coniferous-broadleaved forest (EN: 53.74 m) compared to deciduous broad-leaved forest (EN: 99.63 m) and temperate coniferous forest (EN: 121.70 m). (2) The fuzziness and randomness of the distribution height of the lower extension zones of deciduous broad-leaved forest and temperate coniferous forest (EN: 75.15 m, 184.56 m; HE: 24.09 m, 63.54 m) are greater than those of the upper extension zones (EN: 44.75 m, 42.49 m; HE: 14.48 m, 13.23 m). (3) The distribution fuzziness and randomness within temperate coniferous forests exceed those of deciduous broad-leaved forests. Within the core zones, the uncertainty regarding the vertical distribution of vegetation across different aspects remains consistent, which retains the characteristic of man-made forests. However, in transition areas, there is significant disparity, reflecting the adaptive relationship between vegetation and its environment to some extent. In the upper and lower extension zones of deciduous broad-leaved forests, the EX values for the vertical distribution height of mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forests differ significantly from those of deciduous broad-leaved forests (the difference is 22.82-39.15 m), yet closely resemble those of temperate coniferous forests (the difference is 4.79-7.94 m). This suggests a trend wherein deciduous broad-leaved tree species exhibit a proclivity to encroach upon coniferous forest habitats. The elevation cloud model of vertical vegetation zones provides a novel perspective and method for the detailed analysis of Mount Taishan's vegetation vertical differentiation.

RESUMEN

We have created a spatially homogeneous polariton condensate in thermal equilibrium, up to very high condensate fraction. Under these conditions, we have measured the coherence as a function of momentum and determined the total coherent fraction of this boson system from very low density up to density well above the condensation transition. These measurements reveal a consistent power law for the coherent fraction as a function of the total density over nearly three orders of its magnitude. The same power law is seen in numerical simulations solving the two-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation for the equilibrium coherence.

RESUMEN

The water quality in the drinking water reservoir directly affects people's quality of life and health. When external pollution input is effectively controlled, endogenous release is considered the main cause of water quality deterioration. As the major nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) sources in reservoirs, sediment plays a vital role in affecting the water quality. To understand the spatial and temporal variation of N and P in the sediment, this study analyzed the current characteristics and cumulative effects of a semi-humid reservoir, Yuqiao Reservoir, in North China. The N and P concentrations in the reservoir sediment were decreased along the flow direction, while the minimum values were recorded at the central sediment profile. External input and algal deposition were the main factors leading to higher sediment concentrations in the east (Re-E) and west (Re-W) areas of reservoir sediment profiles. According to the long-term datasets, the peaks of both sediment total nitrogen content and deposition rate were observed in the 2010s, which has increased about three times and six times than in the1990s, respectively. Therefore, the increase in phosphorus concentration may be the main reason for eutrophication in water in recent years. The mineralization of organic matter has a significant promoting effect on releasing N and P from sediments, which will intensify eutrophication in water dominated by P and bring huge challenges to water environment management. This study highlights that the current imbalance in N and P inputs into reservoirs and the endogenous P release from sediment will have a significant impact on water quality.

RESUMEN

RESEARCH QUESTION: Does the observed correlation between dyslipidaemia and endometriosis indicate a bidirectional causal association? DESIGN: Bidirectional Mendelian randomization was used to investigate the causal association between lipid traits and endometriosis. Drug-target Mendelian randomization was used to explore potential drug-target genes for managing endometriosis. In cases where lipid-mediated effects via specific drug targets were significant, aggregate analyses, such as summary-data-based Mendelian randomization and colocalization methods, were introduced to validate the outcomes. Mediation analyses supplemented these evaluations. RESULTS: The bidirectional Mendelian randomization results suggested that genetically predicted triglyceride (OR 1.15, 95% CI 1.08-1.23), high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (OR 0.87, 95% CI 0.81-0.94), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (OR 1.20, 95% CI 1.06-1.34) and apolipoprotein A (OR 0.90, 95% CI 0.83-0.96) concentrations were causally associated with endometriosis. Reverse Mendelian randomization results revealed that genetically proxied endometriosis was causally associated with triglyceride concentration (OR 1.02, 95% CI 1.01-1.02). In drug-target Mendelian randomization, genetic mimicry in proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9) (OR 1.40, 95% CI 1.13-1.72), apolipoprotein B (APOB) (OR 1.49, 95% CI 1.21-1.86) and angiopoietin-related protein 3 (ANGPTL3) (OR 1.57, 95% CI 1.14-2.16) was significantly associated with the risk of endometriosis stages 1-2. CONCLUSION: There is a potential bidirectional causal association between endometriosis and dyslipidaemia. Genetic mimicry of PCSK9, APOB and ANGPTL3 is associated with the risk of early-stage endometriosis. The development of lipid-lowering drugs to treat endometriosis is of potential clinical interest.

RESUMEN

Parkinson's disease (PD) is defined as a progressive neurodegenerative disease in middle-aged and elderly people. The therapeutic effect of ω-3 PUFAs in several neurodegenerative diseases has been well recognized. Nevertheless, whether nutrition supplementing ω-3 PUFAs exerts a neuroprotective role in PD remains elusive. Bioinformatics revealed 2D chemical structural formula of three components. Mice received indicated treatment with saline, MPTP or ω-3 PUFAs according to grouping. Behavioral function of mice was measured through motor tests such as rearing, akinesia, and rotarod tests. OFT test measured anxiety-like behaviors of mice. Western blotting and TUNEL staining measured dopaminergic fibers and neurons of mice. Western blotting measured inflammation and apoptosis-related protein levels in mouse tissue. FACS measured iTreg cell proportion in colon and brain tissues of mice. ω-3 PUFAs repaired MPTP-stimulated motor function damage in PD mice. ω-3 PUFAs mitigated MPTP-stimulated comorbid anxiety in PD mice. ω-3 PUFAs relieved MPTP-stimulated deficits of dopaminergic fibers and neurons in PD mice. ω-3 PUFAs repressed MPTP-stimulated inflammation and apoptosis pathway activation in PD mice. ω-3 PUFAs repaired MPTP-stimulated immune function damage in PD mice. ω-3 PUFAs exert a protective role in PD mice through alleviating motor function impairment and neuroinflammation by increasing intestinal inducible Treg cells, which may provide a new direction for seeking targeted therapy plans for PD in humans.

RESUMEN

20(S)-Protopanaxadiol (PPD) is one of the bioactive ingredients in ginseng and possesses neuroprotective properties. Brain-type creatine kinase (CK-BB) is an enzyme involved in brain energy homeostasis via the phosphocreatine-creatine kinase system. We previously identified PPD as directly bound to CK-BB and activated its activity in vitro. In this study, we explored the antidepressive effects of PPD that target CK-BB. First, we conducted time course studies on brain CK-BB, behaviors, and hippocampal structural plasticity responses to corticosterone (CORT) administration. Five weeks of CORT injection reduced CK-BB activity and protein levels and induced depression-like behaviors and hippocampal structural plasticity impairment. Next, a CK inhibitor and an adeno-associated virus-targeting CKB were used to diminish CK-BB activity or its expression in the brain. The loss of CK-BB in the brain led to depressive behaviors and morphological damage to spines in the hippocampus. Then, a polyclonal antibody against PPD was used to determine the distribution of PPD in the brain tissues. PPD was detected in the hippocampus and cortex and observed in astrocytes, neurons, and vascular endotheliocytes. Finally, different PPD doses were used in the chronic CORT-induced depression model. Treatment with a high dose of PPD significantly increased the activity and expression of CK-BB after long-term CORT injection. In addition, PPD alleviated the damage to depressive-like behaviors and structural plasticity induced by repeated CORT injection. Overall, our study revealed the critical role of CK-BB in mediating structural plasticity in CORT-induced depression and identified CK-BB as a therapeutic target for PPD, allowing us to treat stress-related mood disorders.

RESUMEN

Studies suggest that mangiferin (MAF) has good therapeutic effects on chronic bronchitis and hepatitis. Also, it is one of the antiviral ingredients in Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bunge. However, its effect on the LPS-induced inflammation and intestinal flora during sepsis remains unclear yet. In the present study, LPS-stimulated inflammation RAW264.7 cells and LPS-induced sepsis mice were used to evaluate the efficacy of MAF in vitro and in vivo. 16S rDNA sequencing was performed to analyze the characteristics of intestinal flora of the sepsis mice. It has been demonstrated that MAF (12.5 and 25 µg/mL) significantly inhibited protein expressions of TLR4, MyD88, NF-κB, and TNF-α in the LPS-treated cells and reduced the supernatant TNF-α and IL-6 levels. In vivo, MAF (20 mg/kg) markedly protected the sepsis mice and reduced the serum TNF-α and IL-6 levels. Also, MAF significantly downregulated the protein expressions of TLR4, NF-κB, and MyD88 in the livers. Importantly, MAF significantly attenuated the pathological injuries of the livers and small intestines. Further, MAF significantly increased proportion of Bacteroidota and decreased the proportions of Firmicutes, Desulfobacterota, Actinobacteriota, and Proteobacteria at phylum level, and it markedly reduced the proportions of Escherichia-Shigella, Pseudoalteromonas, Staphylococcus at genus level. Moreover, MAF affects some metabolism-related pathways such as citrate cycle (TCA cycle), lipoic acid metabolism, oxidative phosphorylation, bacterial chemotaxis, fatty acid biosynthesis, and peptidoglycan biosynthesis of the intestinal flora. Thus, it can be concluded that MAF as a treatment reduces the inflammatory responses in vitro and in vivo by inhibiting the TLR4/ MyD88/NF-κB pathway, and corrects intestinal flora imbalance during sepsis to some degree.

RESUMEN

In order to address the challenges of low recognition accuracy and the difficulty in effective diagnosis in traditional converter transformer voiceprint fault diagnosis, a novel method is proposed in this article. This approach takes account of the impact of load factors, utilizes a multi-strategy improved Mel-Frequency Spectrum Coefficient (MFCC) for voiceprint signal feature extraction, and combines it with a temporal convolutional network for fault diagnosis. Firstly, it improves the hunter-prey optimizer (HPO) as a parameter optimization algorithm and adopts IHPO combined with variational mode decomposition (VMD) to achieve denoising of voiceprint signals. Secondly, the preprocessed voiceprint signal is combined with Mel filters through the Stockwell transform. To adapt to the stationary characteristics of the voiceprint signal, the processed features undergo further mid-temporal processing, ultimately resulting in the implementation of a multi-strategy improved MFCC for voiceprint signal feature extraction. Simultaneously, load signal segmentation is introduced for the diagnostic intervals, forming a joint feature vector. Finally, by using the Mish activation function to improve the temporal convolutional network, the IHPO-ITCN is proposed to adaptively optimize the size of convolutional kernels and the number of hidden layers and construct a transformer fault diagnosis model. By constructing multiple sets of comparison tests through specific examples and comparing them with the traditional voiceprint diagnostic model, our results show that the model proposed in this paper has a fault recognition accuracy as high as 99%. The recognition accuracy was significantly improved and the training speed also shows superior performance, which can be effectively used in the field of multiple fault diagnosis of converter transformers.

RESUMEN

Candidalysin, a cytolytic peptide toxin secreted by the human fungal pathogen Candida albicans, is critical for fungal pathogenesis. Yet, its intracellular targets have not been extensively mapped. Here, we performed a high-throughput enhanced yeast two-hybrid (HT-eY2H) screen to map the interactome of all eight Ece1 peptides with their direct human protein targets and identified a list of potential interacting proteins, some of which were shared between the peptides. CCNH, a regulatory subunit of the CDK-activating kinase (CAK) complex involved in DNA damage repair, was identified as one of the host targets of candidalysin. Mechanistic studies revealed that candidalysin triggers a significantly increased double-strand DNA breaks (DSBs), as evidenced by the formation of γ-H2AX foci and colocalization of CCNH and γ-H2AX. Importantly, candidalysin binds directly to CCNH to activate CAK to inhibit DNA damage repair pathway. Loss of CCNH alleviates DSBs formation under candidalysin treatment. Depletion of candidalysin-encoding gene fails to induce DSBs and stimulates CCNH upregulation in a murine model of oropharyngeal candidiasis. Collectively, our study reveals that a secreted fungal toxin acts to hijack the canonical DNA damage repair pathway by targeting CCNH and to promote fungal infection.

RESUMEN

Considering the impulsive delayed reaction-diffusion stochastic neural networks (IDRDSNNs) with hybrid impulses, the finite-time boundedness (FTB) and finite-time contractive boundedness (FTCB) are investigated in this article. First, a novel delay integral inequality is presented. By integrating this inequality with the comparison principle, some sufficient conditions that ensure the FTB and FTCB of IDRDSNNs are obtained. This study demonstrates that the FTB of neural networks with hybrid impulses can be maintained, even in the presence of impulsive perturbations. And for a system that is not FTB due to impulsive perturbations, achieving FTB is possible through the implementation of appropriate impulsive control and optimization of the average impulsive intervals. In addition, to validate the practicality of our results, three illustrative examples are provided. In the end, these theoretical findings are successfully applied to image encryption.

RESUMEN

The incidence of intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is increasing every year, with very high rates of mortality and disability. The prognosis of elderly ICH patients is extremely unfavorable. Interleukin, as an important participant in building the inflammatory microenvironment of the central nervous system after ICH, has long been the focus of neuroimmunology research. However, there are no studies on the role IL31 play in the pathologic process of ICH. We collected para-lesion tissue for immunofluorescence and flow cytometry from the elderly and young ICH patients who underwent surgery. Here, we found that IL31 expression in the lesion of elderly ICH patients was significantly higher than that of young patients. The activation of astrocytes after ICH releases a large amount of IL31, which binds to microglia through IL31R, causing a large number of microglia to converge to the hematoma area, leading to the spread of neuroinflammation, apoptosis of neurons, and ultimately resulting in poorer recovery of nerve function. Interfering with IL31 expression suppresses neuroinflammation and promotes the recovery of neurological function. Our study demonstrated that elderly patients release more IL31 after ICH than young patients. IL31 promotes the progression of neuroinflammation, leading to neuronal apoptosis as well as neurological decline. Suppression of high IL31 concentrations in the brain after ICH may be a promising therapeutic strategy for ICH.

RESUMEN

Metabolic status is crucial for stem cell functions; however, the metabolic heterogeneity of endogenous stem cells has never been directly assessed. Here, we develop a platform for high-throughput single-cell metabolomics (hi-scMet) of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). By combining flow cytometric isolation and nanoparticle-enhanced laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry, we routinely detected >100 features from single cells. We mapped the single-cell metabolomes of all hematopoietic cell populations and HSC subpopulations with different division times, detecting 33 features whose levels exhibited trending changes during HSC proliferation. We found progressive activation of the oxidative pentose phosphate pathway (OxiPPP) from dormant to active HSCs. Genetic or pharmacological interference with OxiPPP increased reactive oxygen species level in HSCs, reducing HSC self-renewal upon oxidative stress. Together, our work uncovers the metabolic dynamics during HSC proliferation, reveals a role of OxiPPP for HSC activation, and illustrates the utility of hi-scMet in dissecting metabolic heterogeneity of immunophenotypically defined cell populations.

RESUMEN

Transition metal-catalyzed enantioselective C-H carbonylation with carbon monoxide, an essential and easily available C1 feedstock, remains challenging. Here, we disclosed an unprecedented enantioselective C-H carbonylation catalyzed by inexpensive and readily available cobalt(II) salt. The reactions proceed efficiently through desymmetrization, kinetic resolution, and parallel kinetic resolution, affording a broad range of chiral isoindolinones in good yields with excellent enantioselectivities (up to 92 % yield and 99 % ee). The synthetic potential of this method was demonstrated by asymmetric synthesis of biological active compounds, such as (S)-PD172938 and (S)-Pazinaclone. The resulting chiral isoindolinones also serve as chiral ligands in cobalt-catalyzed enantioselective C-H annulation with alkynes to construct phosphorus stereocenter.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Endometritis is a condition usually resulted from the bacterial infection of uterus, causing pelvic disease, sepsis, shock, uterine necrosis and even death if it is inappropriately treated. The aim of this study is to explore the pathogenesis of endometritis, and investigate whether the combination of doxycycline and metronidazole offers stronger protection against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced endometritis, and decipher more about the mechanisms underlying endometritis-related pyroptosis. METHODS: Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were divided into five groups (n = 8 per group): control, model, metronidazole, doxycycline, and combination groups. In control group, the rats were injected with saline, while in other groups, lipopolysaccharide was injected into uterus of the rats to establish endometritis. Hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) staining was performed as part of the histopathological examination of endometrium. The integrity of chromatin and pyroptosis were evaluated by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT) dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) assay. Western blot and quantitative real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) were performed to ascertain the activation of toll-like receptors (TLR4)/nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) pathway by detecting protein levels of phosphorylated p50 (p-p50)/p50, phosphorylated nuclear factor-kappa B (p-NF-κB)/NF-κB, phosphorylated IkappaB (p-IκB), and TLR4 protein and mRNA. Development of pyroptosis was also detected by determining the levels of caspase-1 and caspase-5 through Western blot and qRT-PCR. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect levels of interleukin (IL)-1ß, IL-18, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α), and flow cytometry was adopted to determine T-helper (Th)1 and Th2 cell percentage to assess the extent of pyroptosis and Th1/Th2 imbalance. RESULTS: The uterine of the model group exhibited pathological alterations and higher degree of cell apoptosis. Compared with the control rats, model group showed lower protein levels of p-p50/p50 (p < 0.001), p-NF-κB/NF-κB (p < 0.001), p-IκB (p < 0.001), and TLR4 protein (p < 0.001) and mRNA (p < 0.001). Elevated levels of caspase-1 (p < 0.001), caspase-5 (p < 0.001), IL-1ß (p < 0.001), IL-18 (p < 0.001), IL-2 (p < 0.01), TNF-α (p < 0.05) and Th1/Th2 (p < 0.001) as well as reduced levels of IL-4 (p < 0.05) and IL-6 (p < 0.01) were observed in the model group, which could however be reversed by metronidazole (p < 0.01) or doxycycline (p < 0.01), with a more significant effect detected if a combination of the two drugs was administered (p < 0.01). CONCLUSIONS: The combination of doxycycline and metronidazole protects against rat endometritis by inhibiting TLR4/NF-κB pathway-mediated inflammation and suppressing pyroptosis.

RESUMEN

Polyaluminum chloride (PAC) is a traditional material used for immobilizing sediment internal phosphorus (P) in field-scale experiment. Lanthanum carbonate (LC) is an emerging material which have been used in immobilizing sediment internal P in laboratory. To promote LC in practice, the premise is that it does have advantages over traditional material when used. Herein, a 90-day incubation experiment was conducted comparing the effectiveness and mechanism of LC and PAC capping in controlling sediment internal P. The results of isotherm experiment and XPS analysis indicated that the adsorption mechanism of P onto LC and PAC involved ligand exchange and formation of inner-sphere La/Al-O-P complexes. The incubation experiment revealed that PAC capping was more effective in reducing pore water soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP), exhibiting a reduction of up to 81.32 % but showed a decrease trend. However, LC capping resulted in a reduction of pore water SRP up to 52.84 % and maintained stability. On average, LC and PAC capping reduced SRP flux by 0.27 and 0.32 µg·m-2d-1, respectively relative to the control sediment. Moreover, LC capping facilitated the formation of Fe(III)/Mn(IV) oxyhydroxides, leading to an increased P adsorption, whereas PAC capping facilitated the reduction of Fe(III)/Mn(IV) minerals with P release. Additionally, LC capping resulted in the reduction of a higher ratio of mobile P/TP to stable P forms than PAC capping, as compared to the control. In contrast to PAC capping which converted mobile P to stable NaOH-rP, LC capping transformed mobile P and NaOH-rP into more stable HCl-P and ResP. Both LC and PAC capping caused variations in sediment bacterial communities. Nevertheless, PAC capping heightened the risk of Co, Ni, Cu, and Pb releases in sediment compared to LC capping. In summary, this study suggested that LC capping surpassed PAC capping in immobilizing sediment internal P.

Medical image segmentation faces current challenges in effectively extracting and fusing long-distance and local semantic information, as well as mitigating or eliminating semantic gaps during the encoding and decoding process. To alleviate the above two problems, we propose a new U-shaped network structure, called CFATransUnet, with Transformer and CNN blocks as the backbone network, equipped with Channel-wise Cross Fusion Attention and Transformer (CCFAT) module, containing Channel-wise Cross Fusion Transformer (CCFT) and Channel-wise Cross Fusion Attention (CCFA). Specifically, we use a Transformer and CNN blocks to construct the encoder and decoder for adequate extraction and fusion of long-range and local semantic features. The CCFT module utilizes the self-attention mechanism to reintegrate semantic information from different stages into cross-level global features to reduce the semantic asymmetry between features at different levels. The CCFA module adaptively acquires the importance of each feature channel based on a global perspective in a network learning manner, enhancing effective information grasping and suppressing non-important features to mitigate semantic gaps. The combination of CCFT and CCFA can guide the effective fusion of different levels of features more powerfully with a global perspective. The consistent architecture of the encoder and decoder also alleviates the semantic gap. Experimental results suggest that the proposed CFATransUnet achieves state-of-the-art performance on four datasets. The code is available at https://github.com/CPU0808066/CFATransUnet.

RESUMEN

In this study, lanthanum carbonate (LC) was selected as a capping agent to examine its effectiveness in immobilizing sediment internal phosphorus (P), arsenic (As) and tungsten (W). With a 180-day incubation experiment, it was determined that LC capping efficiently reduced the concentrations of soluble reactive P (SRP), soluble As and soluble W in pore water, with the highest reduction rate of 83.39%, 56.21% and 68.52%, respectively. The primary mechanisms involved in the adsorption of P, As and W by LC were precipitation reactions and ligand exchange. Additionally, P, As and W were immobilized by LC capping through the transformation of fractions from mobile and less stable forms to more stable forms. Furthermore, LC capping led to an increase in the Eh value, which promoted the oxidation of soluble Fe (Ⅱ) and soluble Mn. The significantly positive correlation and synchronized variations observed between SRP, soluble As, soluble W, and soluble Fe (II) indicated that the effects of LC on Fe redox played a crucial role in immobilizing sediment internal P, As and W. However, the oxidation of Mn, promoted by LC, played a more significant role in immobilizing sediment internal As than P and W. These effects resulted in LC capping achieving the highest reduction of SRP, soluble As and soluble W flux at 145.22, 22.19, and 0.58 µg m-2d-1. It is of note that LC capping did not lead to an elevated release hazard of Co, Ni, Cu, and Pb, barring Cd. Besides, LC capping did not modify the entire microbial communities in the sediment, but altered the proportional representation of specific microorganisms. Generally, LC has potential as a capping agent capable of simultaneously immobilizing sediment internal P, As and W.
