RESUMEN

PURPOSE: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) can infect the human placenta and has been shown to have an adverse effect on Doppler ultrasound parameters and placental features. However, the specific effects of the SAS-CoV-2 infection on the fetal-placental unit in pregnant women remain unclear. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to evaluate the impact of SARS-CoV-2 infection on Doppler ultrasound and placental findings in pregnant women. METHODS: A systematic search was conducted using four electronic databases (PubMed, Embase, Scopus, and Cochrane Library) to select publications published in peer-reviewed journals written in English. Odds ratios (ORs) were calculated, along with their 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Heterogeneity was assessed using Cochrane Q and I<sup>2</sup> statistics and the appropriate P-value. The analysis used RevMan 5.3. RESULTS: This meta-analysis included 1,210 pregnant women from 10 case-control studies. SARS-CoV-2-infected pregnant women exhibited higher likelihoods of placental abnormalities (OR, 2.62; 95% CI, 1.66 to 4.13), aberrant Doppler values (OR, 1.95; 95% CI, 1.16 to 3.27), an abnormal cerebroplacental ratio (OR, 2.68; 95% CI, 1.52 to 4.75), altered fetoplacental circulation (OR, 1.56; 95% CI, 1.07 to 2.28), and increased placental thickness and placental venous lakes (OR, 1.85; 95% CI, 1.25 to 2.72). CONCLUSION: According to this meta-analysis, pregnant women infected with SARS-CoV-2 are more likely to experience altered Doppler ultrasonography parameters and placental abnormalities, including increased placental thickness, placental venous lakes, altered fetoplacental circulation, and cerebroplacental ratio. However, the limited number of case-control studies requires larger sample sizes to validate and enhance the evidence.

(1) Background: Diet plays an important role in the development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). There are a number of methods available to assess the diets of patients with IBD, including nutrients, dietary patterns, and various appraisal tools of diet quality. However, research on diet quality and dietary patterns in IBD populations is limited, and comparative evaluations of dietary intake in patients with IBD have not been performed. (2) Objectives: The aim of this study was to assess nutrients, the dietary patterns, and diet quality of patients with IBD and to investigate the relationship between dietary patterns, diet quality, and the adequacy of nutrient intake. (3) Methods: Three-day food records of 268 patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and 126 patients with Crohn's disease (CD) were collected to estimate nutrients and food groups, while dietary quality was assessed using the Dietary Inflammation Index (DII) and Mediterranean Diet Score (MDS). Dietary patterns were derived using principal component analysis (PCA). Participants' nutrient intake, diet quality, and dietary patterns were compared. We used binary logistic regression to assess the relationship between dietary patterns (independent variable) and nutritional adequacy (dependent variable). (4) Results: In our sample, patients had inadequate energy, protein, and dietary fiber intake compared with Reference Nutrient Intake (RNI). Regarding micronutrients, intakes of potassium, zinc, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, sodium, calcium, iron, niacin, thiamin, and riboflavin were inadequate. Regarding food groups, the highest intakes were fruits, legumes, dairy products, and nuts. PCA revealed four dietary patterns, namely DP1, DP2, DP3, and DP4. Among UC patients, 96, 55, 69, and 48 patients adhered to DP1, DP2, DP3, and DP4 dietary patterns, respectively. Among CD patients, 41, 31, 34, and 20 patients complied with the dietary patterns of DP1, DP2, DP3, and DP4, respectively. There was no significant difference in dietary patterns between UC and CD patients. Compared with DP4 (high intake of mixed legumes and low intake of tubers), DP1 (high intake of cereals, tubers, vegetables and eggs) was more likely to ensure adequate intake of energy (OR, 2.96; 95% CI, 1.55, 5.62), protein (OR, 2.05; 95% CI, 1.06, 3.96), carbohydrates (OR, 3.55; 95% CI, 1.51, 6.59), thiamine (OR, 2.59; 95% CI, 1.36,4.93), niacin (OR, 2.75; 95% CI, 1.39, 5.42), phosphorus (OR, 2.04; 95% CI, 1.08, 3.85), zinc (OR, 2.43; 95% CI, 1.28, 4.63), and manganese (OR, 3.10; 95% CI, 1.60, 5.90), and DP2 (high intake of fruits, poultry, aquatic products, and nuts) was more likely to meet niacin requirements than DP4 (OR, 2.65; 95% CI, 1.28, 5.48). (5) Conclusion: This study clarifies our understanding of dietary intake, diet quality, and dietary patterns in adult patients with IBD. Future attention is needed to improve diet quality, emphasizing the importance of assessing and understanding patient dietary habits and increasing understanding of the factors that influence dietary intake in IBD in order to achieve optimal outcomes for patients with IBD.

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact of the "4+1 Nursing Operation Mode" on improving the efficacy of alveolar surgery and the effectiveness of nursing. METHODS: A total of 200 patients were recruited from the oral and maxillofacial surgery outpatient department at the School and Hospital of Stomatology, Wuhan University, between November and December 2023. These patients were allocated into 2 groups: a control group and an experimental group. The treatment for these groups involved different combinations of physicians and nurses, including doctors A and B, and nurses A, B, and C. In November 2023, doctor A treated 50 patients with the assistance of nurses A and C under the "4+1 Nursing Operation Mode," while another 50 patients were treated by doctor A with the assistance of nurse A following the "Four-Handed Operation Mode." In December 2023, doctor B treated 50 patients with the assistance of nurse B under the "Four-Handed Operation Mode," and another 50 patients were treated by doctor B with the assistance of nurses B and C using the "4+1 Nursing Operation Mode." Patient visit durations were documented, and patient satisfaction with diagnostic and treatment services was evaluated via a questionnaire survey. RESULTS: In comparison to the "Four-Handed Operation Mode," the "4+1 Nursing Operation Mode" resulted in a 27% reduction in patient visit times and an improvement in patient satisfaction with nursing services. CONCLUSIONS: The "4+1 Nursing Operation Mode" surpasses the "Four-Handed Operation Mode" in terms of efficiency. It not only reduces patient visit times and enhances doctor work efficiency but also improves patient satisfaction with nursing services.

Spontaneous abortion (SA) is a prevalent placental dysfunction, and ferroptosis may play a crucial role in placental dysfunction and the development of SA. In this study, we employed data mining and analysis techniques to investigate the biological mechanism of SA induced by ferroptosis, resulting in the identification of a total of 79 ferroptosis-related genes in SA were identified. Among them, 3 co-expression modules of ferroptosis risk genes, ten significant functions and six biologically significant pathways were obtained 61 pairs of differentially expressed miRNA-ferroptosis factor relationships were identified, and WIPI1 and GSN were expressed at significantly higher levels in SA. This is extremely helpful for future research on SA.

The ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS), which involves E3 ligases and deubiquitinates (DUBs), is critical for protein homeostasis. The epigenetic reader ZMYND8 (zinc finger MYND-type containing 8) has emerged as an oncoprotein, and its protein levels are elevated in various types of cancer, including breast cancer. However, the mechanism by which ZMYND8 protein levels are increased in cancer remains elusive. Although ZMYND8 has been reported to be regulated by the E3 ligase FBXW7, it is still unknown whether ZMYND8 could be modulated by DUBs. Here, we identified USP7 (ubiquitin carboxyl-terminal hydrolase 7) as a bona fide DUB for ZMYND8. Mechanically, USP7 directly binds to the PBP (PHD-BRD-PWWP) domain of ZMYND8 via its TRAF (tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor) domain and UBL (ubiquitin-like) domain and removes F-box and WD repeat domain containing 7 (FBXW7)-catalyzed poly-ubiquitin chains on lysine residue 1034 (K1034) within ZMYND8, thereby stabilizing ZMYND8 and stimulating the transcription of ZMYND8 target genes ZEB1 (zinc finger E-box binding homeobox 1) and VEGFA (Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor A). Consequently, USP7 enhances the capacity of breast cancer cells for migration and invasion through antagonizing FBXW7-mediated ZMYND8 degradation. Importantly, the protein levels of USP7 positively correlates with those of ZMYND8 in breast cancer tissues. These findings delineate an important layer of migration and invasion regulation by the USP7-ZMYND8 axis in breast cancer cells.

Acidic water electrolysis is of considerable interest due to its higher current density operation and energy conversion efficiency, but its real industrial application is highly limited by the shortage of efficient, stable, and cost-effective acidic oxygen evolution reaction (OER) electrocatalysts. Here, an electrocatalyst consisting of Ni-implanted RuO2 supported is reported on α-MnO2 (MnO2/RuO2-Ni) that shows high activity and remarkable durability in acidic OER. Precisely, the MnO2/RuO2-Ni catalyst shows an overpotential of 198 mV at a current density of 10 mA cm-2 and can operate continuously and stably for 400 h (j = 10 mA cm-2) without any obvious attenuation of activity, making it one of the best-performing acid-stable OER catalysts. Experimental results, in conjunction with density functional theory calculations, demonstrate that the interface electron transfer effect from RuO2 to MnO2, further enhanced by Ni incorporation, effectively modulates the adsorption of OOH* and significantly reduces the overpotential, thereby enhancing catalytic activity and durability.

AIMS: To explore the psychosocial experiences during dietary management among Chinese adults with inflammatory bowel disease. DESIGN: Qualitative phenomenological design. METHODS: Eighteen adults diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease for more than 6 months were recruited using purposive sampling from June to December 2023. Two trained researchers used van Manen's approach to analyse the data. RESULTS: The three themes with multiple subthemes emerged: facing the unknown: at a loss and aggrieved, trying to cope: uncertain and distressed, and growing in adaptation: relieved and transcendent. The first theme included unknown relapses, overlooking diet management and the absence of dietary rules. The second theme showed different coping situations, like complex dietary information and ever-closing worlds. The third theme explores how participants adapted to disease and their eating patterns. CONCLUSION: The psychosocial experiences during dietary management are complex. The accumulation of diet-related experience, acceptance of illness and social support facilitate patients in overcoming negative emotions and adhering to dietary management. IMPLICATIONS FOR THE PROFESSION AND PATIENT CARE: Nurses should provide tailored dietary guidance and appropriate psychological interventions to promote healthy eating in patients. IMPACT: This study may enhance healthcare professionals' understanding, particularly those in China, of the diet-related experiences among patients. REPORTING METHOD: The Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research checklist. PATIENT OR PUBLIC CONTRIBUTION: Participants contributed by sharing their first hand experiences.

Rice bran is an important byproduct of the rice polishing process, rich in nutrients, but it is underutilized and often used as feed or discarded, resulting in a huge amount of waste. In this study, rice bran was fermented by Lactobacillus fermentum MF423 to obtain a product with high antioxidant activity. First, a reliable and efficient method for assessing the antioxidant capacity of the fermentation products was established using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), which ensured the consistency of the batch fermentation. The fermented rice bran product (FLRB) exhibited significant antioxidant activity in cells, C. elegans, and hyperlipidemic mice. Transcriptome analysis of mouse livers showed that the expression of plin5 was upregulated in diabetic mice administered FLRB, thereby preventing the excessive production of free fatty acids (FFAs) and the subsequent generation of large amounts of reactive oxygen species (ROS). These studies lay the foundation for the application of rice bran fermentation products.

Synthetic structures mimicking the transport function of natural ion channel proteins have a wide range of applications, including therapeutic treatments, separation membranes, sensing, and biotechnologies. However, the development of polymer-based artificial channels has been hampered due to the limitation on available models. In this study, we demonstrate the great potential of bottlebrush polymers as accessible and versatile molecular scaffolds for developing efficient artificial ion channels. Adopting the bottlebrush configuration enhanced ion transport activity of the channels compared to their linear analogs. Matching the structure of lipid bilayers, the bottlebrush channel with a hydrophilic-hydrophobic-hydrophilic triblock architecture exhibited the highest activity among the series. Functionalized with urea groups, these channels displayed high anion selectivity. Additionally, we illustrated that the transport properties could be fine-tuned by modifying the chemistry of ion binding sites. This work not only highlights the importance of polymer topology control in channel design, but also reveals the great potential for further developing bottlebrush channels with customized features and diverse functionalities.

Protein homeostasis is predominantly governed through post-translational modification (PTM). UBE3B, identified as an oncoprotein, exhibits elevated protein levels in breast cancer. However, the impact of PTM on UBE3B remains unexplored. In this study, we show that VHL is a bona fide E3 ligase for UBE3B. Mechanistically, VHL directly binds to UBE3B, facilitating its lysine 48 (K48)-linked polyubiquitination at K286 and K427 in a prolyl hydroxylase (PHD)-independent manner. Consequently, this promotes the proteasomal degradation of UBE3B. The K286/427R mutation of UBE3B dramatically abolishes the inhibitory effect of VHL on breast tumor growth and lung metastasis. Additionally, the protein levels of UBE3B and VHL exhibit a negative correlation in breast cancer tissues. These findings delineate an important layer of UBE3B regulation by VHL.

OBJECTIVES: This qualitative study aimed to explore opportunities to strengthen tuberculosis (TB) health service delivery from the perspectives of health workers providing TB care in Shigatse prefecture of Tibet Autonomous Region, China. DESIGN: Qualitative research, semi-structured in-depth interviews. SETTING: The TB care ecosystem in Shigatse, including primary and community care. PARTICIPANTS: Participants: 37 semi-structured interviews were conducted with village doctors (14), township doctors and nurses (14), county hospital doctors (7) and Shigatse Centre for Disease Control staff (2). RESULTS: The three main themes reported include (1) the importance of training primary and community health workers to identify people with symptoms of TB, ensure TB is diagnosed and link people with TB to further care; (2) the need to engage community health workers to ensure retention in care and adherence to TB medications; and (3) the opportunity for innovative technologies to support coordinated care, retention in care and adherence to medication in Shigatse. CONCLUSIONS: The quality of TB care could be improved across the care cascade in Tibet and other high-burden, remote settings by strengthening primary care through ongoing training, greater support and inclusion of community health workers and by leveraging technology to create a circle of care. Future formative and implementation research should include the perspectives of health workers at all levels to improve care organisation and delivery.

Hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) is an autosomal recessive metabolic disease associated with a mutation in the aldolase B gene on chromosome 9q31. In this study, we generated a human-induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC) line, FDCHi015-A, from peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of a patient carrying the compound heterozygous mutations c.360_364delCAAA and c.1013C > T in exons 4 and 9 of the ALDOB gene, respectively. The iPSCs with the confirmed patient-specific mutation demonstrate pluripotency markers expression, a normal karyotype, and the ability to differentiate into derivatives of three germ layers.

Coalbed methane (CBM) reservoirs constitute a distinct class of dense organic rocks characterized by extremely low porosity and permeability. Conducting an in-depth investigation into pore heterogeneity assumes paramount importance for the exploration and development of CBM. This study focuses on the multifractal analysis of the pores with diameters below 300 nm in six coal samples sourced from the Junggar Basin and the Qinshui Basin in China. The analysis is based on a series of experiments involving CO2 adsorption, low-temperature N2 adsorption/desorption, and CH4 isothermal adsorption. This work delves into the influence of pore heterogeneity on gas adsorption capacity by linking the structural parameters to CH4 adsorption properties. The results indicate that both the micropores, as assessed through CO2 adsorption, and mesopores to macropores, measured via N2 adsorption, exhibit multifractal behavior. In contrast to micropores, the mesopores and macropores display stronger heterogeneity and lower connectivity. Generally, uniform and well-connected nanopores are anticipated to positively contribute to gas adsorption. However, there is a positive correlation between the Langmuir volume and the heterogeneity degree of micropores. This phenomenon is ascribed to the fact that the greater surface complexity in micropores involves a larger specific surface area and a higher abundance of adsorption sites. This research contributes to a more profound and precise comprehension of the heterogeneous pore structure within CBM reservoirs, thereby establishing a theoretical foundation for the sustainable exploitation of CBM.

Identifying and protecting hotspots of endemism and species richness is crucial for mitigating the global biodiversity crisis. However, our understanding of spatial diversity patterns is far from complete, which severely limits our ability to conserve biodiversity hotspots. Here, we report a comprehensive analysis of amphibian species diversity in China, one of the most species-rich countries on Earth. Our study combines 20 y of field surveys with new molecular analyses of 521 described species and also identifies 100 potential cryptic species. We identify 10 hotspots of amphibian diversity in China, each with exceptional species richness and endemism and with exceptional phylogenetic diversity and phylogenetic endemism (based on a new time-calibrated, species-level phylogeny for Chinese amphibians). These 10 hotspots encompass 59.6% of China's described amphibian species, 49.0% of cryptic species, and 55.6% of species endemic to China. Only four of these 10 hotspots correspond to previously recognized biodiversity hotspots. The six new hotspots include the Nanling Mountains and other mountain ranges in South China. Among the 186 species in the six new hotspots, only 9.7% are well covered by protected areas and most (88.2%) are exposed to high human impacts. Five of the six new hotspots are under very high human pressure and are in urgent need of protection. We also find that patterns of richness in cryptic species are significantly related to those in described species but are not identical.

Neurodevelopmental disorder with or without autistic features and/or structural brain abnormalities (NEDASB) is a rare autosomal dominant disorder caused by a heterozygous mutation in the NOVA2 gene on chromosome 19q13. Here, we describe the generation and characterization of an iPSC line derived from the peripheral blood of a 7-year-old patient carrying a novel heterozygous mutation in NOVA2 (c.625 del). The iPSCs with the confirmed patient-specific mutation were demonstrated by pluripotency markers, a normal karyotype, and the ability to differentiate into three germ layers. This NOVA2-mutant iPSC line could facilitate disease modeling and therapy development studies for NEDASB.

DYRK1A haploinsufficiency causes a neurodevelopmental syndrome termed DYRK1A-related intellectual disability syndrome which is associated with a range of symptoms including microcephaly, epileptic seizures, and autism spectrum disorder. Here, we generated an induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (iPSC) line with a de novo missense mutation (DYRKIA c.1024G > T) from the peripheral blood mononuclear cells of a patient with DYRK1A-related intellectual disability syndrome. This iPSC line showed normal karyotype, exhibited pluripotency, and has three embryonic germ layers differentiation capacity. This iPSC line will be of great use in investigating the disease mechanisms and drug screening for patients with DYRK1A-related intellectual disability syndrome.

BACKGROUND: WHO recommends that electronic medication monitors, a form of digital adherence technology, be used as a complement to directly observed treatment (DOT) for tuberculosis, as DOT is inconvenient and costly. However, existing evidence about the effectiveness of these monitors is inconclusive. Therefore, we evaluated the effectiveness of a comprehensive package based on electronic medication monitors among patients with tuberculosis in Tibet Autonomous Region (hereafter Tibet), China. METHODS: This multicentre, randomised controlled trial recruited patients from six counties in Shigatse, Tibet. Eligible participants had drug-susceptible tuberculosis and were aged 15 years or older when starting standard tuberculosis treatment. Tuberculosis doctors recruited patients from the public tuberculosis dispensary in each county and the study statistician randomly assigned them to the intervention or control group based on the predetermined randomised allocation sequence. Intervention patients received an electronic medication monitor box. The box included audio medication-adherence reminders and recorded box-opening data, which were transmitted to a cloud-based server and were accessible to health-care providers to allow remote adherence monitoring. A linked smartphone app enabled text, audio, and video communication between patients and health-care providers. Patients were also provided with a free data plan. Patients selected a treatment supporter (often a family member) who was trained to support patients with using the electronic medication monitor and app. Patients in the control group received usual care plus a deactivated electronic medication monitor, which only recorded and transmitted box-opening data that was not made available to health-care providers. The control group also had no access to the app or trained treatment supporters. The primary outcome was a binary indicator of poor monthly adherence, defined as missing 20% or more of planned doses in the treatment month, measured using electronic medication monitor opening data, and verified by counting used medication blister packages during consultations. We recorded other secondary treatment outcomes based on national tuberculosis reporting data. We analysed the primary outcome based on the intention-to-treat population. This trial is registered at ISRCTN, 52132803. FINDINGS: Between Nov 17, 2018, and April 5, 2021, 278 patients were enrolled into the study. 143 patients were randomly assigned to the intervention group and 135 patients to the control group. Follow-up ended when the final patient completed treatment on Oct 4, 2021. In the intervention group, 87 (10%) of the 854 treatment months showed poor adherence compared with 290 (37%) of the 795 months in the control group. The corresponding adjusted risk difference for the intervention versus control was -29·2 percentage points (95% CI -35·3 to -22·2; p<0·0001). Five of the six secondary treatment outcomes also showed clear improvements, including treatment success, which was found for 133 (94%) of the 142 individuals in the intervention arm and 98 (73%) of the 134 individuals in the control arm, with an adjusted risk difference of 21 percentage points (95% CI 12·4-29·4); p<0·0001. INTERPRETATION: The interventions were effective at improving tuberculosis treatment adherence and outcomes, and the trial suggests that a comprehensive package involving electronic medication monitors might positively affect tuberculosis programmes in high-burden and low-resource settings. @#Objective To construct a recombinant human interleukin-1 receptor antagonist(rhIL-1Ra)strain of kanamycin resistance,express,purify and identify rhIL-1Ra protein in order to reduce the risks of β-lactam antibiotics.Methods The ampicillin-resistant rhIL-1Ra(A-rhIL-1Ra)plasmid and PET-28a plasmid were used as templates to prepare the linearized vector and kanamycin gene fragment by PCR.The kanamycin resistant rhIL-1Ra plasmid(K-rhIL-1Ra)was constructed by homologous recombination,which was transformed into E.coli BL21(DE3)to construct the recombinant engineered bacteria after correct sequencing.The engineered bacteria were induced by IPTG and then purified by CM Bestarose Fast Flow and DEAE Bestarose Fast Flow column chromatography.The purified products were collected,and then detected for the purity by 15% SDS-PAGE,size-exclusion high-performance liquid chromatography(SEC-HPLC),and reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography(RP-HPLC),determined for the relative molecular mass by tandem mass spectrometry,identified for the specificity by Western blot,measured for the biological activity by reporter gene assay,and compared for the related impurities by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS)analysis.Results Colony PCR and sequencing results showed that K-rhIL-1Ra plasmid was constructed correctly.The expressed K-rhIL-1Ra protein had a relative molecular mass of about 17 000,mainly existing in soluble form,and the expression amount accounted for more than 30% of the total bacterial proteins.The purity of K-rhIL-1Ra protein purified by two steps was 97% and 99%,the monomer content was 99.33%and 100%,and the chromatographic purity was 91.86% and 96.96%,respectively.The mass spectral molecular mass was consistent with that of the standard(A-rhIL-1Ra protein),and the protein reacted specifically relative with mouse antihuman IL-1Ra monoclonal antibody.The biological activity of the purified K-rhIL-1Ra protein was 1.29 × 105U/mg,and the chemical modification types of related proteins were the same as those of the standard(A-rhIL-1Ra protein).Conclusion The K-rhIL-1Ra strain was successfully constructed,and the expressed and purified protein was in line with the characteristics and quality standards of rhIL-1Ra,which lays a foundation for the study of rhIL-1Ra strain change and comparability

BACKGROUND: Meeting healthy dietary needs while eating out can be a challenging experience for adults with inflammatory bowel disease. This study examined the barriers experienced by adults with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) when eating out. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to explore the perceptions of people with IBD on eating out barriers. DESIGN: A qualitative study among individuals affected by IBD was conducted through semi-structured interviews. RESULTS: Sixteen adults from China were diagnosed with IBD between 6 months and 20 years prior to the study. They were recruited from four tertiary care hospitals in Nanjing, China. The participants completed a semi-structured interview between April and September 2022. Self-perceived difficulties with eating and drinking when eating out were varied. After thematic analysis of the data, five main themes emerged: limited access to healthy and hygiene food; no pleasure of food enjoyment; financial strain; not feeling loved, supported or understood; and coping strategies for not meeting demand. CONCLUSIONS: This study highlights the various barriers encountered by patients with inflammatory bowel disease when eating out. These findings will help people with IBD to encourage the formation of targeted health and well-being-related interventions. Knowledge of nutrition and diet should be provided in education and training programs administered to IBD.

Aqueous proton battery is considered as a promising candidate for the electrochemical energy storage system with the merits of safety, environmental benignity, fast kinetics and low cost. The realization of these advantages relies on the development of suitable and easy-access electrode materials. Herein, micron-sized H2MoO3/Polyaniline (PANI) is developed as a high-rate and stable anode material in proton battery. Contrary to the pseudocapacitive nature of most anode materials, the H2MoO3/PANI presents diffusion-controlled charge storage mechanism with both high capacity and high rate-capability. The H2MoO3/PANI electrode shows a rather high capacity of 268.2 mAh g-1 at 1.0 A g-1, and a surprisingly high rate-capability with ∼50% capacity retention even at an extremely high current density of 200.0 A g-1. Detailed analyses demonstrate the Grotthuss mechanism of ultrafast proton conduction in H2MoO3/PANI. The constructed proton full cell based on H2MoO3/PANI delivers a high energy density of 42.1 Wh kg-1 at 800.0 W kg-1. Impressively, the proton full cell shows fast proton transportation even in the frozen electrolyte, and ∼70% of the room temperature capacity is retained at -20 °C. These excellent proton storage behaviors provide insights into the practical applications of micron-sized electrode materials in proton batteries at low temperatures.
