RESUMEN

A protocol for the intramolecular reductive coupling of unactivated arenes with unactivated alkenes has been developed with the aid of a cooperative visible light/cobalt catalytic system. This coupling is achieved via radical cascade cyclization using amines as terminal reducing reagents and water as the main hydrogen source. In their form, readily available N-allyl benzamides are converted to the corresponding spiro cyclohexadiene-lactam or ß-phenethylamine analogues in moderate to excellent yields.

RESUMEN

When mono-radical ipso-cyclization of aryl sulfonamides tend to undergo Smiles-type rearrangement through aromatization-driven C-S bond cleavage, diradical-mediated cyclization must perform in a distinct reaction pathway. It is interesting meanwhile challenging to tune the rate of C-S bond cleavage to achieve a chemically divergent reaction of (hetero) aryl sulfonamides in a visible-light induced energy transfer (EnT) reaction pathway involving diradical species. Herein a chemically divergent reaction based on the designed indole-tethered (hetero)arylsulfonamides is reported which involves a diradical-mediated ipso-cyclization and a controllable cleavage of an inherent C-S bond. The combined experimental and computational results have revealed that the cleavage of the C-S bond in these substrates can be controlled by tuning the heteroaryl moieties: a) If the (hetero)aryl is thienyl, furyl, phenanthryl, etc., the radical coupling of double dearomative diradicals (DDDR) precedes over C-S bond cleavage to afford cyclobutene fused indolines by double dearomative [2+2]-cycloaddition; b) if the (hetero)aryl is phenyl, naphthyl, pyridyl, indolyl etc., the cleavage of C-S bond in DDDR is favored over radical coupling to afford biaryl products.

RESUMEN

Bound states in the continuum (BICs) with infinite quality factor (Q-factor) and significant field enhancement pave the way for realizing highly sensitive optical sensors with enhanced light-matter interactions on the nanoscale. However, current optical sensing methods are difficult to discriminate between isotropic and anisotropic media from resonance spectral lines, resulting in optical sensing methods still being limited to isotropic media. In this work, we demonstrate that BICs can be realized by modulating the period of structural units to convert BICs to QBICs without changing their space group symmetry, and propose a polarization-independent metasurfaces-based realization of highly sensitive refractive index sensors for isotropic and anisotropic media as well as discrimination. We propose a metasurface of tetrameric silicon nanoboxes with C4 symmetry as structural units to achieve the conversion of BICs to QBICs by modulating the period of structural units without changing the geometry of the structure. Two QBICs modes dominated by electric toroidal dipole and magnetic toroidal dipole are identified by multipolar decomposition and electromagnetic distribution calculations. Meanwhile, we realize the refractive index detection and resolution of isotropic and anisotropic media based on polarization-independent metasurfaces combined with isotropic and anisotropic media layers. Our work provides what we believe to be a new method for realizing the fast resolution and refractive index optical sensing of isotropic and anisotropic media, and offers new ideas for the design and application of polarization-independent metasurfaces.

RESUMEN

A mild strategy for intermolecular cross-dehydrocoupling of Csp2-H bonds and Csp3-H bonds has been developed with the aid of photoinduced Pd catalysis. Polyhalogenated arenes can be used as the efficient dehydrogenating agent, which enables multifold transfer of carbon radical to avoid the production of stoichiometric or excess wasted arenes. In this strategy, substituted styrenes and N-arylacrylamides with simple ethers or amides as the coupling partners gives the corresponding internal alkenes and benzolactams with moderate to good yield.

RESUMEN

To evaluate the correlation between mean platelet volume (MPV) and obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) in children, and to explore the diagnostic value of MPV for OSAHS. Children with OSAHS diagnosed by polysomnography (PSG) at Fuyong People's Hospital of Bao'an District/Shenzhen Children's Hospital from January 2020 to January 2021 were enrolled in this study. MPV in peripheral venous blood of the enrolled children was detected. Based on the PSG results (apnea-hypopnea index [AHI] and lowest oxygen saturation [LSaO2]), illness severity was classified, and correlations between the 2 parameters were statistically analyzed. A total of 190 children (males = 135, females = 55) with OSAHS were enrolled in the study. There were no significant correlations between AHI, LSaO2, white blood cell count, red blood cell count, blood platelets, hemoglobin, and packed cell volume (P > .05), but there was a significant positive correlation between AHI and MPV (R > 0, P < .05). There was a significant negative correlation between the LSaO2 index and MPV (R > 0, P < .05). In addition, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve indicated that the best cutoff value for MPV to diagnose mild and moderate-to-severe disease conditions was 9.35 fl, and the coincidence rates for these 2 disease conditions were 93% and 80%, respectively. The ROC curve was also optimal for the diagnosis of mild and moderate-to-severe hypoxia. The critical value was 8.85 fl, and the coincidence rates for these 2 conditions were 96.4% and 76.3%, respectively. In children with OSAHS, MPV is positively correlated with AHI and negatively correlated with the LSaO2 index of PSG. Based on the results of ROC curve analysis, MPV can be used as an auxiliary diagnostic index to judge the severity of OSAHS and the degree of hypoxia in children.

RESUMEN

This study optimizes a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on SiO2-Ag periodic grating using graphene and a MoS2 hybrid structure to enhance sensitivity. The sensing performance was analyzed by wavelength modulation. By optimizing the structural parameters, we can obtain the quality factor and sensitivity of 90.192RIU-1 and 960nm⋅RIU-1. The periodic grating surface covered with MoS2 prevents the oxidation of the silver layer and increases the adsorption of biomolecules. Compared with the conventional silver grating SPR sensor, the sensor's sensitivity and quality factor can be significantly enhanced. Experiments were carried out using sucrose solutions with different refractive indices, and the results indicate there was a good linear relationship between the resonance wavelength and the sucrose solution. The sensor has vast potential for practical applications.

RESUMEN

Based on double U-groove photonic crystal fiber (PCF), a surface plasmon resonance sensor with dual parametric detection of temperature and refractive index is proposed. The birefringence of PCF is increased by using germanium ions doped in the core and introducing U-shaped notches on both sides of the D-shaped fiber. The polished surface of the PCF is coated with gold film and PDMS as a temperature sensing channel, and the U-shaped groove is coated with gold film as a refractive index sensing channel. Through the design of the sensor, it is finally possible to achieve independent measurement of the two parameters. The sensor has a maximum wavelength sensitivity of 4715 nm/RIU in the analyte refractive index range of 1.32-1.4, and maximum wavelength sensitivity of 18 nm/°C in the ambient temperature range of -30∘C-50∘C. The proposed sensor has broad application prospects in scenarios such as blood analysis, DNA hybridization analysis, and microenvironmental cell interactions.

RESUMEN

In this work, a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor based on a D-shaped germanium-doped photonic crystal fiber (PCF) is proposed. The finite element method (FEM) is introduced to analyze the structure parameters, such as germanium-doped concentration, lattice pitch, and air hole size. In addition, the coupling properties and birefringence properties of PCF are also studied. The computer simulation results indicate that two different surface plasmon polariton (SPP) coupling modes are produced on the polished surface, covered with metal film, when the analyte refractive index (RI) is 1.34. Then, with the increase of the RI, the incompleteness of one of the coupling modes will be transformed into the complete coupling. The effect of germanium concentration on the birefringence is also analyzed. It has an optimal wavelength sensitivity of 5600 nm/RIU when the RI is 1.37. This sensor exhibits a maximum birefringence of 1.06 × 10-2 and a resolution of 1.78 × 10-5 RIU with high linearity.

RESUMEN

This paper proposes a susceptible exposed infectious recovered model (SEIR) with isolation measures to evaluate the COVID-19 epidemic based on the prevention and control policy implemented by the Chinese government on February 23, 2020. According to the Chinese government's immediate isolation and centralized diagnosis of confirmed cases, and the adoption of epidemic tracking measures on patients to prevent further spread of the epidemic, we divide the population into susceptible, exposed, infectious, quarantine, confirmed and recovered. This paper proposes an SEIR model with isolation measures that simultaneously investigates the infectivity of the incubation period, reflects prevention and control measures and calculates the basic reproduction number of the model. According to the data released by the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, we estimated the parameters of the model and compared the simulation results of the model with actual data. We have considered the trend of the epidemic under different incubation periods of infectious capacity. When the incubation period is not contagious, the peak number of confirmed in the model is 33,870; and when the infectious capacity is 0.1 times the infectious capacity in the infectious period, the peak number of confirmed in the model is 57,950; when the infectious capacity is doubled, the peak number of confirmed will reach 109,300. Moreover, by changing the contact rate in the model, we found that as the intensity of prevention and control measures increase, the peak of the epidemic will come earlier, and the peak number of confirmed will also be significantly reduced. Under extremely strict prevention and control measures, the peak number of confirmed cases has dropped by nearly 50%. In addition, we use the EEMD method to decompose the time series data of the epidemic, and then combine the LSTM model to predict the trend of the epidemic. Compared with the method of directly using LSTM for prediction, more detailed information can be obtained.

RESUMEN

The objective of the present study was to investigate the clinical application of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-respiratory gating technology for assessing illness severity in children with obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).MRI-respiratory gating technology was used to scan the nasopharyngeal cavities of 51 children diagnosed with OSAHS during 6 respiratory phases. Correlations between the ratio of the area of the adenoid to the area of the nasopalatine pharyngeal cavity (Sa/Snp), with the main indexes of polysomnography (PSG), were analyzed. Receiver operator characteristic (ROC) curve and Kappa analysis were used to determine the diagnostic accuracy of Sa/Snp in pediatric OSAHS.The Sa/Snp was positively correlated with the apnea hypopnea index (AHI) (P < .001) and negatively correlated with the lowest oxygen saturation of blood during sleep (LaSO2) (P < .001). ROC analysis in the 6 respiratory phases showed that the area under the curve (AUC) of the Sa/Snp in the end-expiratory phase was the largest (0.992, P < .001), providing a threshold of 69.5% for the diagnosis of severe versus slight-moderate OSAHS in children. Consistency analysis with the AHI showed a diagnosis accordance rate of 96.0% in severe pediatric OSAHS and 96.2% in slight-moderate pediatric OSAHS (Kappa = 0.922, P < .001).Stenosis of the nasopalatine pharyngeal cavity in children with adenoidal hypertrophy was greatest at the end-expiration phase during sleep. The end-expiratory Sa/Snp obtained by a combination of MRI and respiratory gating technology has potential as an important imaging index for diagnosing and evaluating severity in pediatric OSAHS.
