RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Keen Osteoarthritis (KOA) is a common chronic disabling disease characterized by joint pain and dysfunction, which seriously affects patients' quality of life. Recent studies have shown that transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) was a promising treatment for KOA. PURPOSE: Investigate the effects of tDCS on pain and physical function in patients with KOA. METHODS: Randomized controlled trials related to tDCS and KOA were systematically searched in the PubMed, Embase, Medline, Cochrane Library, CINHL, and Web of Science databases from inception to July 23, 2024. The pain intensity was evaluated using the visual analog scale or the numeric rating scale, and the pain sensitivity was assessed using conditioned pain modulation, pressure pain threshold, heat pain threshold, or heat pain tolerance. The physical function outcome was evaluated using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index or the Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score. Statistical analysis was performed using Review Manager 5.4. RESULTS: Seven studies with a total of 503 participants were included. Compared to sham tDCS, tDCS was effective in reducing the short-term pain intensity (SMD: -0.58; 95% CI: -1.02, -0.14; p = 0.01) and pain sensitivity (SMD: -0.43; 95% CI: -0.70, -0.16; p = 0.002) but failed to significantly improve the long-term pain intensity (SMD: -0.26; 95% CI: -0.59, 0.08; p = 0.13) in KOA patients. In addition, tDCS did not significantly improve the short-term (SMD: -0.13; 95% CI: -0.35, 0.08; p = 0.22) and long-term (SMD: 0.02; 95% CI: -0.22, 0.25; p = 0.90) physical function in patients with KOA. CONCLUSIONS: The tDCS can reduce short-term pain intensity and sensitivity but fails to significantly relieve long-term pain intensity and improve the physical function in patients with KOA. Thus, tDCS may be a potential therapeutic tool to reduce short-term pain intensity and pain sensitivity in patients with KOA.

RESUMEN

Background: Tetraspanin 1 (TSPAN1) is a newly discovered protein of the tetrameric protein family encoded by the TSPAN1 gene localized in the 1p34 chromosome region. TSPAN1 has been shown to be associated with various malignancies. In this study, we aimed to investigate the prognostic significance of TSPAN1 in breast cancer. Estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) breast cancer is the largest breast cancer subgroup, and ER-targeted therapies have significantly prolonged survival and improved symptoms in advanced breast cancer. TSPAN1 overexpression was found to be associated with a poor prognosis in ER+ breast cancer. Methods: We analyzed the expression of TSPAN1 in breast cancer tissues and cell lines using western blotting and quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Results: TSPAN1 expression was higher in breast cancer cells as compared with normal breast tissue. There was a significant association between a high TSPAN1 level and a low survival rate. Inhibition of TSPAN1 significantly reduced the proliferation and invasion of BT474 cells both in vitro and in vivo. The downregulation of TSPAN1 in breast cancer cells significantly reduced the levels of p-mitogen-activated protein kinase 1 (MEK1) (S298) and p-extracellular signal-regulating kinase (ERK) 1/2. Conclusions: TSPAN1 modulates downstream extracellular matrix (ECM) receptor signaling cascades and promotes cellular proliferation and invasion in breast cancer. TSPAN1 inhibition may be a potential new treatment strategy for breast cancer.

RESUMEN

In order to meet the better performance requirements of pressure detection, a microelectromechanical system (MEMS) piezoresistive pressure sensor utilizing an array-type aluminum-silicon hybrid structure with high sensitivity and low temperature drift is designed, fabricated, and characterized. Each element of the 3 × 3 sensor array has one stress-sensitive aluminum-silicon hybrid structure on the strain membrane for measuring pressure and another temperature-dependent structure outside the strain membrane for measuring temperature and temperature drift compensation. Finite-element numerical simulation has been adopted to verify that the array-type pressure sensor has an enhanced piezoresistive effect and high sensitivity, and then this sensor is fabricated based on the standard MEMS process. In order to further reduce the temperature drift, a thermodynamic control system whose heating feedback temperature is measured by the temperature-dependent structure is adopted to keep the working temperature of the sensor constant by using the PID algorithm. The experiment test results show that the average sensitivity of the proposed sensor after temperature compensation reaches 0.25 mV/ (V kPa) in the range of 0-370 kPa, the average nonlinear error is about 1.7%, and the thermal sensitivity drift coefficient (TCS) is reduced to 0.0152%FS/°C when the ambient temperature ranges from -20 °C to 50 °C. The research results may provide a useful reference for the development of a high-performance MEMS array-type pressure sensor.

RESUMEN

The distribution of deoxynivalenol (DON) and its derivatives 3-acetyldeoxynivalenol (3-Ac-DON) and 15-acetyldeoxynivalenol (15-Ac-DON) throughout the wheat processing chain were systemically evaluated by one-to-one corresponding studies of the whole processing chain. DON and its derivatives were determined by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) in wheat grains and corresponding wheat bran, wheat flour, and semi-finished and finished wheat flour-based products. This investigation showed that wheat grain processing to wheat flour significantly decreased the levels of DON by approximately 52.7%-68.2%. Wheat flour processing of wheat flour-based products decreased the DON concentration by approximately 7.0%-70.6%. Among the processing methods, biscuit making showed the largest reduction (70.6%). The co-occurrence frequency of DON with low levels of 3-Ac-DON and 15-Ac-DON was significantly greater in wheat grains and wheat bran than in wheat flour. For wheat flour-based products, only the distribution pattern of 3-Ac-DON was observable in processed wheat flour products prepared using grains heavily contaminated with DON. In China, to the best of our knowledge, the processing factors (PFs) of DON in wheat flour and wheat flour-based products were systematically evaluated for the first time. The average PF of DON was 0.35 for wheat flour and the average PFs were 0.37-0.84 for wheat flour-based products, with biscuits having the smallest PF (0.37), indicating DON significantly decreasing in biscuit making. Furthermore, dietary exposure assessment of DON indicated an acceptable overall health risk in Chinese consumers, with the highest exposure being observed in infants and young children. This study provides important references for classified management of DON limits in wheat and its various products in China.

RESUMEN

The main objectives of this study were to explore the relationship between career personality styles and career adaptability and the role of thinking styles in such relationship. Eight hundred and eleven Chinese students, who were trained as pre-service kindergarten teachers, responded to the Career Personality Styles Inventory, the shortened Thinking Styles Inventory-Revised, and the Career Adapt-Ability Scale - Short Form. Results suggested that the career personality styles (i.e. social, enterprising) that fit the vocational environment of kindergarten teaching the most positively predicted the students' career adaptability, both directly and indirectly through creativity-generating thinking styles. Moreover, the artistic and investigative career personality styles indirectly predicted students' career adaptability through creativity-generating thinking styles, while the conventional and realistic career personality styles showed no significant effect on the students' career adaptability. The findings imply that beyond the notion of person-environment congruence, some career personality styles can consistently predict career adaptability through thinking styles. Implications for career counseling and education practice are discussed.

RESUMEN

Due to the increasing amounts of textile waste, textile to textile recycling is of prime concern. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) represents the most extensively used type of chemical fiber. Its spinnability suffers from impurities and degradation in the processing, which limits its recycling to new fibers. Here, recycled polyester is blended with a small amount of recycled nylon, and the regenerated fibers, which demonstrated good mechanical properties, were obtained via a melt spinning machine. The mechanical properties, thermal properties, rheological properties, and chemical structure of the modified recycled fibers were investigated. It was found that when compared with rPET-T fibers, the elongation at break of rPET-Ax fibers increased to 17.48%, and the strength at break decreased to 3.79 cN/dtex. The compatibility of PET and PA6 copolymer were enhanced by copolymers produced by in-situ reaction in the processing. Meanwhile, the existence of PA6 increases the crystallization temperature and improves the hydrophilicity of the fibers. This study realized the high-value recycling of waste PET fabric to new fibers, which opens a door for the large utilization of waste textiles.

RESUMEN

In order to conveniently measure the power frequency intensive electric field in any direction in space, a lithium niobate (LN) crystal-based three dimensional (3D) intensive electric field sensor with an all-dielectric structure has been developed. A regular triangular prism structure with three 1D (one-dimensional) electric field sensors fixed on its three sides is designed and fabricated. By setting the orientation of the z-axes of the three 1D electric field sensors at 54.7° with respect to the three edges of the prism, the detection directions of the three 1D electric field sensors are perpendicular to each other. Compared to existing 3D electric field sensors that directly arrange three 1D electric field sensors along three mutually perpendicular directions, the overall device volume of the newly designed 3D sensor is significantly reduced. Experimental results reveal that the linear measurement ranges of the 3D electric field sensor along the three axes are 3.71 kV/m-388 kV/m, 2.78 kV/m-403 kV/m, and 4.50 kV/m-375 kV/m, respectively. When the electric field strength is 82.05 kV/m, the measurement error is less than 4.97% when the 3D electric field sensor is rotated 360° in the y o z and x o y planes.

RESUMEN

In this paper, a single-loop tunable parity-time (PT) symmetric optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) based on a dual-mode optical phase modulator (PM) and a microwave photonic filter (MPF) has been proposed, analyzed, and designed. By adjusting the polarization angle θ between the input linearly polarized light and the z axis of the PM, the two-mode splitting ratio of the PM can be controlled, which results in a PT-symmetric structure based on a single physical loop. By adjusting the pump light wavelength, the center frequency of the stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS)-based MPF can be tuned, which enables a fine tunable output frequency. The results reveal that, by adjusting the pump light wavelength with a step size of 0.0001 nm, a frequency tuning accuracy of 12.5 MHz can be obtained. Simultaneously, the OEO output frequency can be tuned from 0.9 to 22 GHz, while the side-mode suppress ratio (SMSR) is 53 dB, and the phase noise is -133.8d B c/H z at a frequency offset of 10 kHz.

RESUMEN

To investigate the effects of rapeseed oil on body composition, blood glucose and lipid metabolism in people with overweight and obesity compared to other cooking oils. We searched eight databases for randomized controlled studies (including randomized crossover trials). The risk of bias for the included studies was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias 2.0 tool. The Grading of Recommendations Assessment Development and Evaluation (GRADE) criteria were used to evaluate the quality of the outcomes. The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed using the Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) scale. Sensitivity analysis was used to check the stability of the pooled results. Statistical analysis was carried out using Review Manager 5.3 software. As a result, fifteen randomized controlled studies (including six parallel studies and nine crossover studies) were included in this study. Compared to other edible oils, rapeseed oil significantly reduced low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) (MD = -0.14 mmol/L, 95% CI: -0.21, -0.08, I2 = 0%, P < 0.0001), apolipoprotein B (ApoB) (MD = -0.03 g/L, 95% CI: -0.05, -0.01, I2 = 0%, P = 0.0003), ApoB/ApoA1 (MD = -0.02, 95% CI: -0.04, -0.00, I2 = 0%, P = 0.02) and insulin (MD = -12.45 pmol/L, 95% CI: -19.61, -5.29, I2 = 37%, P = 0.0007) levels, and increased fasting glucose (MD = 0.16 mmol/L, 95% CI: 0.05, 0.27, I2 = 27%, P = 0.003) levels. However, the differences in body weight and body composition between rapeseed oil and control oils were not significant. In a word, rapeseed oil is effective in reducing LDL-C, ApoB and ApoB/ApoA1 levels in people with overweight and obesity, which is helpful in preventing and reducing the risk of atherosclerosis. RESUMEN

Obtaining a comprehensive understanding of ore grade information is of significant importance for evaluating the value of ore. However, the real-time detection of multicomponent grade needs more effective online methods. This study proposes a novel approach utilizing hyperspectral imaging (HSI) to evaluate the grade information of nine major ilmenite components by integrating spectral and spatial data. Four multivariate input-output models were developed to mitigate variable interference to predict each component's grade. The results demonstrated that the backpropagation neural network (BPNN) model built from iPLS-VCPA-IRIV feature selection spectral data worked best (RP2 = 0.9935, RMSEP = 0.1364, RPD = 12.8986, and RPIQ = 21.4871, with a computational time of approximately 0.8 s). Furthermore, applying the best optimal combination algorithm for multicomponent grade inversion yielded highly accurate results, in which 97% of the component inversion residuals were less than 1. This investigation affirms that HSI enables rapid and accurate prediction and inversion of the multicomponent grade of ilmenite, thereby presenting a promising alternative to online analysis in the mineral field.
