RESUMEN

Objective: To analyze the effect of Linc00511 on thyroid cancer through the miR-4739/RNF38 pathway. Methods: A total of 78 patients in our hospital from July 2020 to July 2021 were collected, which were diagnosed with thyroid cancer after clinicopathological examination. Their cancer tissue samples were included in the thyroid cancer tissue group, and the fat 2 cm tissue samples were included in the para-cancer tissue group. Real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression of Linc00511, miR-4739 and RNF38 in tissue samples from the two groups. Statistical analysis of data was performed using SPSS26.0. The correlation between Linc00511, miR-4739 and RNF38 were analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficient. The expression of Linc00511 in thyroid cancer tissues with different clinicopathological characteristics were compared. Results: The expression levels of Linc00511 and RNF38 in thyroid cancer group were significantly higher than paracancer group, while miR-4739 levels were significantly lower (P < .05). Pearson correlation coefficient analysis showed that there was significant negative correlation between Linc00511 and miR-4739 expression and significant positive correlation between Linc00511 and RNF38 expression (P < .05). There was no significant difference in the expression of Linc00511 among different ages, sexes, and cancer types (P > .05). The expression of Linc00511 in patients with TNM stages I, II, and III were increased with the increase of TNM stage (P < .05). The expression of Linc00511 in patients with tumor diameter ≥1 cm was higher than that in patients with tumor diameter <1 cm and the difference was statistically significant (P < .05). Conclusion: Linc00511 and RNF38 were significantly overexpressed in thyroid cancer tissues, while miR-4739 was significantly underexpressed. In thyroid cancer, Linc00511 can promote the invasion and metastasis of thyroid cancer cells by targeting miR-4739 and RNF38, and its expression level may reflect the progression of thyroid cancer, which can provide target reference for the clinical treatment of thyroid cancer.

Methods for regioselective N-trideuteromethylation of tautomeric polyaza heterocycles are highly sought-after. Disclosed herein is an N-trideuterated methylation reaction of imidazoles and pyrazoles with high regioselectivity and deuterium purity using easily available CF3SO3CD3 as the -CD3 source. This method enables the easy synthesis of important deuterium-labeled azoles, including dimetridazole-d3, ipronidazole-d3, hydroxy dimetridazole-d3, and ronidazole-d3.

Zearalenone (ZEN) is widely found in foodstuffs and has serious harmful effects on female fertility, especially in pigs. Cyanidin-3-O-glucoside (C3G), a type of anthocyanin, exists in most dark fruits and vegetables; it has many positive dietary effects including as an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, or anti-apoptotic agent. However, the beneficial effects of C3G alongside ZEN-induced damage in porcine oocytes and the underlying molecular mechanism have not been investigated. In this work, porcine cumulus-oocyte complexes (COCs) were divided into Control (Ctrl), ZEN, ZEN + C3G (Z + C), and C3G, and treated for 44-46 h in vitro. The results showed that C3G could alleviate ZEN-induced disorders of first polar body (PBI) extrusion, abnormalities of spindle assembly, cortical granule distribution, and mitochondrial distribution; these results were produced via restoring transzonal projections (TZPs), and inhibiting nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate oxidase (NOX4)-dependent oxidative stress and 'glucose regulatory protein 78/protein kinase-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase/α subunit of eukaryotic initiation factor 2α/activating transcription factor 4/C/EBP-homologous protein' (GRP78/PERK/eIF2α/ATF4/CHOP)-mediated endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) during oocyte maturation. Moreover, the over-expression of NOX4 in cumulus cells could result in a significant increase in ROS levels and ER fluorescence intensity in oocytes. In conclusion, C3G promoted in vitro maturation of porcine oocytes exposed to ZEN via mitigating NOX4-dependent oxidative stress and ERS in cumulus cells. These results contribute to our comprehension of the molecular mechanisms underlying the protective effects of C3G against ZEN toxicity in porcine oocytes, and they provide a novel theoretical foundation and strategy for future applications of C3G in the improvement of female reproduction.

The aggregation of transactive response deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) binding protein of 43 kDa (TDP-43) into ubiquitin-positive inclusions is closely associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), frontotemporal lobar degeneration, and chronic traumatic encephalopathy. The 370-375 fragment of TDP-43 (370GNNSYS375, TDP-43370-375), the amyloidogenic hexapeptides, can be prone to forming pathogenic amyloid fibrils with the characteristic of steric zippers. Previous experiments reported the ALS-associated mutation, serine 375 substituted by glycine (S375G) is linked to early onset disease and protein aggregation of TDP-43. Based on this, it is necessary to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms. By utilizing all-atom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations of 102 µs in total, we investigated the impact of S375G mutation on the conformational ensembles and oligomerization dynamics of TDP-43370-375 peptides. Our replica exchange MD simulations show that S375G mutation could promote the unstructured conformation formation and induce peptides to form a loose packed oligomer, thus inhibiting the aggregation of TDP-43370-375. Further analyses suggest that S375G mutation displays a reduction effect on the number of total hydrogen bonds and contacts among TDP-43370-375 peptides. Hydrogen bonding and polar interactions among TDP-43370-375 peptides, as well as Y374-Y374 π-π stacking interaction, are attenuated by S375G mutation. Additional microsecond MD simulations demonstrate that S375G mutation could prohibit the conformational conversion to ß-structure-rich aggregates and possess an inhibitory effect on the oligomerization dynamics of TDP-43370-375. This study offers for the first time of molecular insights into the S375G mutation affecting the aggregation of TDP-43370-375 at the atomic level, and may open new avenues in the development of future site-specific mutation therapeutics.

OBJECTIVE: Brain tumor segmentation on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) plays an important role in assisting the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients. Recently, cascaded U-Net models have achieved excellent performance via conducting coarse-to-fine segmentation of MRI brain tumors. However, they still suffer from obvious global and local differences among various brain tumors, which are difficult to solve with conventional convolutions. APPROACH: To address the issue, this work proposes a novel Adaptive Cascaded Transformer U-Net (ACTransU-Net) for MRI brain tumor segmentation, which simultaneously integrates Transformer and dynamic convolution into a single cascaded U-Net architecture to adaptively capture global information and local details of brain tumors. ACTransU-Net first cascades two 3D U-Nets into a two-stage network to segment brain tumors from coarse to fine. Subsequently, it integrates omni-dimensional dynamic convolution modules into the second-stage shallow encoder and decoder, thereby enhancing the local detail representation of various brain tumors through dynamically adjusting convolution kernel parameters. Moreover, 3D Swin-Transformer modules are introduced into the second-stage deep encoder and decoder to capture image long-range dependencies, which helps adapt the global representation of brain tumors. MAIN RESULTS: Extensive experiment results evaluated on the public BraTS 2020 and BraTS 2021 brain tumor datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of ACTransU-Net, with average DSC of 84.96% and 91.37%, and HD95 of 10.81 mm and 7.31 mm, proving competitiveness with the state-of-the-art methods. SIGNIFICANCE: The proposed method focuses on adaptively capturing both global information and local details of brain tumors, aiding physicians in their accurate diagnosis. Additionally, it has the potential to extend ACTransU-Net for segmenting other types of lesions. The source code is available at: https: //github.com/chenbn266/ACTransUnet.

BACKGROUND: To provide a new non-invasive method for the differentiation of diabetic nephropathy (DN) from non-diabetic renal disease (NDRD) by assessing retinal microstructure using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA). METHODS: OCTA parameters were recorded and their relationship with DN was analysed. A differential diagnosis regression model for DN was established, and the diagnostic efficiency was evaluated. RESULTS: Based on the pathological results of renal biopsy, 31 DN patients and 35 NDRD patients were included. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that DN was independently associated with the following parameters: 15.3 mm-1 ≤ vessel density (VD) full < 17.369 mm-1 (odds ratio [OR]=8.523; 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.387-52.352; P = 0.021), VD full < 15.3 mm-1 (OR=8.202; 95% CI=1.110-60.623; P = 0.039), DM duration > 60 months (OR=7.588; 95% CI=1.569-36.692; P = 0.012), and estimated glomerular filtration rate < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 (OR=24.484; 95% CI=4.308-139.142; P < 0.001). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.911, indicating a high diagnostic efficiency. CONCLUSIONS: VD full < 17.369 mm-1, DM duration > 60 months, and eGFR < 60 mL/min/1.73 m2 may indicate the presence of DN. OCTA may be an effective non-invasive method for identifying DN and NDRD.

Background: Airway remodeling is a significant pathological characteristic of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In recent years, hypoxia-inducible factor 1-α (HIF-1α), a member of the hypoxia-inducible factor protein family, has gained attention. However, the potential correlation between HIF-1α and COPD airway remodeling remains unclear. Objective: This study explored the expression patterns of HIF-1α in patients with COPD and its association with airway remodelling. This investigation aims to furnish novel insights for the clinical identification of prospective therapeutic targets for ameliorating COPD-related airway remodelling. Patients and Methods: A total of 88 subjects were included, consisting of 28 controls and 60 COPD patients. Various staining methods were employed to observe the pathological changes in airway tissues. Immunohistochemistry was utilized to detect the expression of HIF-1α and MMP9 (matrix metalloproteinase 9) in airway tissues. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to measure the concentration in serum of HIF-1α and MMP9. Computed tomography (CT) airway parameters were measured in all participants to assess airway remodeling. The relationship between serum HIF-1α and MMP9 concentrations and airway parameters was analyzed. Results: Staining of airway structures in COPD patients revealed significant pathological changes associated with airway remodelling, including mixed cilia and subepithelial fibrosis. The expression of HIF-1α and MMP9 was significantly higher in both human airway tissue and serum compared to controls. Chest CT scans exhibited typical imaging features of airway remodeling and increased airway parameters. Conclusion: The findings suggest a correlation between increased HIF-1α expression and COPD airway remodelling. This study provides novel evidence that HIF-1α may be a potential biomarker for airway remodelling in COPD patients.

The objective of this study was to examine the intervention effect of group sensory integration training on social responsiveness, and the latency and amplitude of N170 event-related potential of children with autism. The social responsiveness scale was employed to assess alterations in the social response of individuals with ASD before and after training, while event-related potentials were utilized to measure changes in N170 latency and amplitude. This study revealed that group sensory integration training can significantly enhance social responsiveness in children diagnosed with ASD. Children with ASD exhibit atypical N170 responses to faces in the right parietal region. The latency of N170 changes may serve as a valuable indicator for assessing the effectiveness of an intervention or diagnosing ASD.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the risk factors for delayed union of extra-articular fractures of the middle and lower third of the tibia treated by locking plate. METHODS: Total of 135 patients of extra-articular fractures of the middle and lower third of the tibia from January 2013 to December 2018 were retrospectively analyzed, including 85 males and 50 females, ranged from 19 to 80 years old. All cases were treated with locking plates. The patients were divided into union group and delayed union group according to the condition of fracture union. The risk factors of delayed healing were determined by univariate analysis of 14 factors that might affect fracture healing first, then the factors with significance were analyzed by binary Logistic regression. RESULTS: There were 13 patients of delayed union, and the rate of delayed union was 9.63%. Univariate analysis showed that delayed union was associated with age, smoking, reduction method, anemia and time of preoperative preparation. Regression analysis showed that age[OR=0.849, 95%CI(0.755, 0.954), P=0.006], smoking[OR=0.020, 95%CI(0.002, 0.193), P=0.001], reduction method[OR=23.924, 95%CI(2.210, 258.943), P=0.009], anemia[OR=0.016, 95%CI(0.001, 0.289), P=0.005] were the contributory factors for delayed union. CONCLUSION: Young age, smoking, closed reduction and anemia are the risk factors for delayed union of extra-articular fractures of the middle and lower third of the tibia treated by locking plate.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of feed ingredients with different protein-to-fat ratios on growth, slaughter performance and meat quality of Small-Tail Han lambs. Forty-five Small-Tail Han lambs (♂) (BW = 34.00 ± 2.5 kg, age = 120 ± 9 d) were randomly divided into groups with three different experimental treatments: (1) PF 5, with the ratio of protein to fat (CP:EE) of 50 to 5; (2) PF10, CP: EE = 50:10; (3) PF20, CP: EE = 50:20. Each treatment group had 15 lambs, and each sheep was a repeat. This experiment lasted for 65 days, with feed intake recorded daily, and animals being weighed on days 0, 30, and 65. At the conclusion of the experiment, eight lambs from each group were slaughtered to assess slaughter performance and meat quality. The results showed that the average daily gain (ADG) of the three groups were 315.27, 370.15 and 319.42 g/d, respectively. The PF10 group had the highest ADG (370.15 g) (p < 0.05). Forestomach weights (1216.88 g) of the PF10 group were significantly higher than those of the other groups (p < 0.05). There were no differences (p > 0.05) in fat percentages in various parts of body among treatments. Feed conversion of the PF10 group was higher (p < 0.05) than that of PF 5 and PF 20 groups. Furthermore, the PF10 group had a higher (p > 0.05) carcass weight and slaughter rate and there were few differences between the other groups in terms of dry matter intake, meat quality, organ weight, and fat deposition (p > 0.05). The protein-energy supplement with protein-to-fat ratio, PF10 appeared to be more desirable to promote the growth and development in Small-Tail Han Lambs.

Cadmium (Cd) pollution is considered a pressing challenge to eco-environment and public health worldwide. Although it has been well-documented that Cd exhibits various adverse effects on aquatic animals, it is still largely unknown whether and how Cd at environmentally relevant concentrations affects iron metabolism. Here, we studied the effects of environmental Cd exposure (5 and 50 µg/L) on iron homeostasis and possible mechanisms in common carp. The data revealed that Cd elevated serum iron, transferrin saturation and iron deposition in livers and spleens, leading to the disruption of systemic iron homeostasis. Mechanistic investigations substantiated that Cd drove hemolysis by compromising the osmotic fragility and inducing defective morphology of erythrocytes. Cd concurrently exacerbated hepatic inflammatory responses, resulting in the activation of IL6-Stat3 signaling and subsequent hepcidin transcription. Notably, Cd elicited ferroptosis through increased iron burden and oxidative stress in livers. Taken together, our findings provide evidence and mechanistic insight that environmental Cd exposure could undermine iron homeostasis via erythrotoxicity and hepatotoxicity. Further investigation and ecological risk assessment of Cd and other pollutants on metabolism-related effects is warranted, especially under the realistic exposure scenarios.

Acidithiobacillus caldus is a typical extreme acidophile widely used in the biohydrometallurgical industry, which often experiences extreme environmental stress in its natural habitat. Hfq, an RNA-binding protein, typically functions as a global regulator involved in various cellular physiological processes. Yet, the biological functions of Hfq derived from such extreme acidophile have not been extensively investigated. In this study, the recombinant strain Δhfq/Achfq, constructed by CRISPR/Cas9-mediated chromosome integration, fully or partially restored the phenotypic defects caused by hfq deletion in Escherichia coli, including impaired growth performance, abnormal cell morphology, impaired swarming motility, decreased stress resistance, decreased intracellular ATP and free amino acid levels, and attenuated biofilm formation. Particularly noteworthy, the intracellular ATP level and biofilm production of the recombinant strain were increased by 12.2% and 7.0%, respectively, compared to the Δhfq mutant. Transcriptomic analysis revealed that even under heterologous expression, AcHfq exerted global regulatory effects on multiple cellular processes, including metabolism, environmental signal processing, and motility. Finally, we established a potential working model to illustrate the regulatory mechanism of AcHfq in bacterial resistance to environmental stress.

Inorganic cesium lead halide perovskites (CsPbIx Br3-x , 0≤x≤3) are promising alternatives with great thermal stability. Additionally, the choice of moisture-resistive and dopant-free carbon as the electrode material can simultaneously solve the problems of stability and cost. Therefore, carbon electrode-based inorganic PSCs (C-IPSCs) represent a promising candidate for commercialization, yet both the efficiencies and stability of related devices demand further progress. This article reviews the recent advancement of C-IPSCs and then unravels the distinctive merits and limitations in this field. Subsequently, our perspective on various modification strategies is analyzed on a methodological level. Finally, this article outlooks the promising research contents and the remaining unresolved issues in this field. We believe that understanding and analyzing the related problems in this field are instructive to stimulate the future development of C-IPSCs.

When employing the open stope mining method for extracting materials in underground mines, it is necessary for personnel and equipment to operate within a specified range of the goaf area, thus, adoption of appropriate mining parameters in the mining field is crucial for promoting safe production practices. In this study, the Harazi iron mine is taken as the research subject, with theoretical analysis combined with numerical simulation that enables the authors to simulate and analyze the width parameter of the mining field. Theoretical analysis utilizing the Matthew stability chart method confirms that the width of the mining field in Harazi iron mine should not exceed 9 m. Based on this finding, the mechanical response characteristics accompanying the mining process at different widths within the mining field limits are analyzed via the Flac3D numerical analysis software. As a result of this analysis, the optimal width of the mining field in Harazi iron mine is determined to be 8 m. The method utilized in this article provides a rational approach to determining structural parameters of the mining field and can effectively aid in promoting mine safety practices.

BACKGROUND: Effective stakeholder engagement in health research is increasingly being recognised and promoted as an important pathway to closing the gap between knowledge production and its use in health systems. However, little is known about its process and impacts, particularly in low-and middle-income countries. This opinion piece draws on the stakeholder engagement experiences from a global health research programme on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) led by clinician researchers in Brazil, China, Georgia and North Macedonia, and presents the process, outcomes and lessons learned. MAIN BODY: Each country team was supported with an overarching engagement protocol and mentored to develop a tailored plan. Patient involvement in research was previously limited in all countries, requiring intensive efforts through personal communication, meetings, advisory groups and social media. Accredited training programmes were effective incentives for participation from healthcare providers; and aligning research findings with competing policy priorities enabled interest and dialogue with decision-makers. The COVID-19 pandemic severely limited possibilities for planned engagement, although remote methods were used where possible. Planned and persistent engagement contributed to shared knowledge and commitment to change, including raised patient and public awareness about COPD, improved skills and practice of healthcare providers, increased interest and support from clinical leaders, and dialogue for integrating COPD services into national policy and practice. CONCLUSION: Stakeholder engagement enabled relevant local actors to produce and utilise knowledge for small wins such as improving day-to-day practice and for long-term goals of equitable access to COPD care. For it to be successful and sustained, stakeholder engagement needs to be valued and integrated throughout the research and knowledge generation process, complete with dedicated resources, contextualised and flexible planning, and commitment.

BACKGROUND: Psychopathy is closely related to many negative interpersonal outcomes in daily life, including violence. Therefore, psychopathy intervention in subclinical individuals has significant application value. OBJECTIVE: Guided by the personality-relationship transaction model and social investment theory, this study examined how marital quality affects self- and partner-rated psychopathy. We also used the actor-partner interdependence mediation model to explore the mediating effect of communication. METHODS: We examined self-reports and partner reports of psychopathy, marital quality, and communication among 260 married Chinese couples. RESULTS: The results indicated that marital quality directly influenced couples' self-rated psychopathy, with both actor and partner effects on husbands' psychopathy and actor effects on wives' psychopathy. Moreover, verbal communication had mediating effects at time 2 between marital quality at time 1 and partner-reported psychopathy at time 3. Meanwhile, the mediating effect of nonverbal communication was not significant. CONCLUSION: Our investigation of relationship effects on psychopathy revealed that the underlying mechanisms differed between self- and partner-rated psychopathy. The findings can highlight directions for exploring potential intervention strategies for subclinical psychopathy.

Rechargeable aluminum batteries (RABs) are an emerging energy storage device owing to the vast Al resources, low cost, and high safety. However, the poor cyclability and inferior reversible capacity of cathode materials have limited the enhancement of RABs performance. Herein, a high configurational entropy strategy is presented to improve the electrochemical properties of RABs for the first time. The high-entropy (Fe, Mn, Ni, Zn, Mg)3 O4 cathode exhibits an ultra-stable cycling ability (109 mAh g-1 after 3000 cycles), high specific capacity (268 mAh g-1 at 0.5 A g-1 ), and rapid ion diffusion. Ex situ characterizations indicate that the operational mechanism of (Fe, Mn, Ni, Zn, Mg)3 O4 cathode is mainly based on the redox process of Fe, Mn, and Ni. Theoretical calculations demonstrate that the oxygen vacancies make a positive contribution to adjusting the distribution of electronic states, which is crucial for enhancing the reaction kinetics at the electrolyte and cathode interface. These findings not only propose a promising cathode material for RABs, but also provide the first elucidation of the operational mechanism and intrinsic information of high-entropy electrodes in multivalent ion batteries.

Land subsidence is a worldwide geo-environmental hazard. Clarifying the influencing factors of land subsidence hazards susceptibility (LSHS) and their spatial distribution are critical to the prevention and control of subsidence disasters. In this study, we selected natural and anthropogenic features or variables on LSHS and used the interpretable convolutional neural network (CNN) method to successfully construct a LSHS model in China. The model performed well, with AUC and F1-score testing set accuracies reaching 0.9939 and 0.9566, respectively. The interpretable method of SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) was use to elucidate the individual contribution of input features to the predictions of CNN model. The importance ranking of model variables showed that population, gross domestic product (GDP) and groundwater storage (GWS) change are the three major factors that affect China's land subsidence. During year 2004-2016, an area of 237.6 thousand km2 was classified as high and very high LSHS, mainly concentrated in the North China Plain, central Shanxi, southern Shaanxi, Shanghai and the junction of Jiangsu and Zhejiang. There will be 333.82-343.12 thousand km2 of areas located in the high and very high LSHS in the mid-21st century (2030-2059) and 361.9-385.92 thousand km2 of areas in the late-21st century (2070-2099). Future population exposure to high and very high LSHS will be 252.12-270.19 million people (mid-21st century) and 196.14-274.50 million people (late-21st century), respectively, compared with the historical exposure of 210.99 million people. The proportion of future railway and road exposure will reach 14.63 %-14.89 % and 11.51 %-11.82 % in the mid-21st century, and 15.46 %-17.12 % and 12.35 %-13.11 % in the late-21st century, respectively. Our findings provide an important information for creating regional adaptation policies and strategies to mitigate damage induced by subsidence.

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: An accurate prognostic model is essential for the development of treatment strategies for gallbladder cancer (GBC). This study proposes an integrated model using clinical features, radiomics, and deep learning based on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) images for survival prediction in patients with GBC after surgical resection. METHODS: A total of 167 patients with GBC who underwent surgical resection at two medical institutions were retrospectively enrolled. After obtaining the pre-treatment CT images, the tumor lesions were manually segmented, and handcrafted radiomics features were extracted. A clinical prognostic signature and radiomics signature were built using machine learning algorithms based on the optimal clinical features or handcrafted radiomics features, respectively. Subsequently, a DenseNet121 model was employed for transfer learning on the radiomics image data and as the basis for the deep learning signature. Finally, we used logistic regression on the three signatures to obtain the unified multimodal model for comprehensive interpretation and analysis. RESULTS: The integrated model performed better than the other models, exhibiting the highest area under the curve (AUC) of 0.870 in the test set, and the highest concordance index (C-index) of 0.736 in predicting patient survival rates. A Kaplan-Meier analysis demonstrated that patients in high-risk group had a lower survival probability compared to those in low-risk group (log-rank p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The nomogram is useful for predicting the survival of patients with GBC after surgical resection, helping in the identification of high-risk patients with poor prognosis and ultimately facilitating individualized management of patients with GBC.

The removal of trivalent iron and aluminum was studied from synthetic Li-ion battery leach solution by phosphate and hydroxide precipitation (pH 2.5-4.25, t = 3 h, T = 60 °C). Phosphate precipitation exhibited both crystal nucleation initiation (pH 2 vs. pH 3) as well as complete (~ 99%) Fe and Al removal at lower pH compared to hydroxide precipitation (pH 3 vs. 3.5). The precipitation time of phosphate was shorter (40 min) than that of hydroxide precipitation (80 min). At pH 4 the loss of valuable metals (Li, Ni, Co) in the precipitate was negligible in the phosphate cake, whereas in the hydroxide process the co-precipitation was 4-5% for Li, Ni and Co. The filtration rate of phosphate precipitate was shown to be significantly faster. The presence of fluoride did not have any notable effect on phosphate precipitation, whereas in hydroxide precipitation, it potentially had a negative effect on aluminum extraction.
