BACKGROUND: Maternal parenting self-efficacy plays a critical role in facilitating positive parenting practices and successful adaption to motherhood. The Perceived Maternal Parenting Self-Efficacy Scale (PMPS-E), as a task-specific measure, confirms its psychometric properties in cultural contexts. Compared with other tools, the advantages of the PMPS-E are as follows: (i) specific context or time period during the lifespan of a child, (ii) explicitly assess parenting self-efficacy across a diverse enough range of parenting tasks or activities during the perinatal/postnatal period and (iii) having robust psychometric properties. The aim of this study was to translate and determine the psychometric properties of the PMPS-E among Chinese postpartum women (C-PMPS-E). METHOD: The cross-cultural adaptation process followed Beaton et al.'s intercultural debugging guidelines. A total of 471 women were included to establish the psychometric properties of the C-PMPS-E. Mothers were asked to complete the C-PMPS-E, Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) and several demographic questions. The psychometric testing of the C-PMPS-E was established through item analysis, construct validity and internal consistency reliability. RESULTS: Item analysis showed that the critical ratios of all items were greater than 3 between the low-score group and high-score group, and all item-total correlation coefficients were greater than 0.4. The fit indices showed that the original correlated four-factor model of C-PMPS-E was observed to be an excellent fit to the data. The PMPS-E was negatively correlated with the EPDS and GAD-7 demonstrating its discriminant validity. As expected, no significant correlation was found between PMPS-E total or subscale scores and mothers' age. In addition, statistically significant differences for parity were detected for C-PMPS-E total and subscale scores with multipara having higher scores. This was taken as further evidence of the scale known-groups discriminant validity. In terms of internal consistency, the Cronbach's alpha of the C-PMPS-E total scale was 0.950, and subscales ranged from 0.76 to 0.89. Furthermore, a ROC curve analysis was conducted to establish the ability of the C-PMPS-E to distinguish between symptoms of depression and symptoms of anxiety. A cut-off value of 55 was identified that resulted in good specificity and fair sensitivity. CONCLUSION: The C-PMPS-E is a reliable and valid tool to assess maternal parenting self-efficacy in a Chinese context.

Colitis-associated cancer (CAC) in inflammatory bowel diseases exhibits more aggressive behavior than sporadic colorectal cancer; however, the molecular mechanisms remain unclear. No definitive preventative agent against CAC is currently established in the clinical setting. We investigated the molecular mechanisms of CAC in the azoxymethane/dextran sulfate sodium (AOM/DSS) mouse model and assessed the antitumor efficacy of erlotinib, a small molecule inhibitor of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Erlotinib premixed with AIN-93 G diet at 70 or 140 parts per million (ppm) inhibited tumor multiplicity significantly by 96%, with ∼60% of the treated mice exhibiting zero polyps at 12 weeks. Bulk RNA-sequencing revealed more than a thousand significant gene alterations in the colons of AOM/DSS-treated mice, with KEGG enrichment analysis highlighting 46 signaling pathways in CAC development. Erlotinib altered several signaling pathways and rescued 40 key genes dysregulated in CAC, including those involved in the Hippo and Wnt signaling. These findings suggest that the clinically-used antitumor agent erlotinib might be repurposed for suppression of CAC, and that further studies are warranted on the crosstalk between dysregulated Wnt and EGFR signaling in the corresponding patient population.

OBJECTIVES: To systematically understand the transparency of outcome measurement time point reporting in meta-analyses of acupuncture. STUDY DESIGN AND SETTING: We searched for meta-analyses of acupuncture published between 2013 and 2022 in PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library. A team of method-trained investigators screened studies for eligibility and collected data using pilot-tested standardized questionnaires. We documented in detail the reporting of outcome measurement time points in acupuncture meta-analyses. RESULTS: A total of 224 acupuncture meta-analyses were included. Of these, 98 (43.8%) studies did not specify the time points of primary outcome. Among 126 (56.3%) meta-analyses which reported the time points of primary outcome, only 22 (17.5%) meta-analyses specified time points in corresponding protocol. Among 48 (38.1%) meta-analyses that estimated treatment effects of multiple time points, 11 (22.9%) meta-analyses used inappropriate meta-analysis method (subgroup analysis) to pool effect size, and none of the meta-analyses used advanced methods for pooling effect sizes at different time points. CONCLUSION: Transparency in reporting outcome time points for acupuncture meta-analyses and appropriate methods to pool the effect size of multiple time points were lacking. For future systematic reviews, the transparency of outcome measurement time points should be emphasized in the protocols and final reports. Furthermore, advanced methods should be considered for pooling effect sizes at multiple time points.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the pathways by which health literacy (HL), social support, and self-efficacy influence self-management behaviors of pregnant women with Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and the interrelationships between the variables. Methods: A total of 565 pregnant women with GDM was recruited. The Demographic Characteristics Form, Health Literacy Scale, Perceived Social Support Scale, General Self-efficacy Scale and GDM Self-management Behavior Scale were used for data collection. Descriptive statistics, zero-ordered correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis were performed on the variables; Structural Equation Model (SEM) were constructed for pathway analysis. Results: A positive correlation was found between health literacy, social support, self-efficacy, and self-management behaviors among pregnant women with GDM after adjusting for age, education level, income level, work status, parity, and family history of diabetes (r ranging from 0.203 to 0.533). A further multiple linear regression analysis showed that functional HL, communicative HL, critical HL, social support, and self-efficacy were all independent influences on self-management behaviors and accounted for 36.3% of the variance. Communicative HL and critical HL explained the strongest self-management behaviors (ß = 0.316 and 0.255, respectively, p < 0.001). The SEM model was suitable for χ2/DF = 2.860, RMSEA = 0.060, IFI = 0.953, TLI = 0.943, and CFI = 0.952. The results showed direct positive effects of health literacy on self-management behaviors and self-efficacy, direct positive effects of social support on health literacy and self-efficacy. Social support and self-efficacy have had no significant direct impact on self-management behaviors, but social support may indirectly influence self-management behaviors through the health literacy mediation role. Conclusion: Healthcare providers should pay attention to the positive impacts of health literacy and social support on self-management behaviors of pregnant women with GDM. Improving the health literacy level of pregnant women with GDM should be the key point of intervention in practice, and the social support system should be fully mobilized to enhance emotional support and life support to promote the improvement of self-management behaviors.

INTRODUCTION: Magnolol is beneficial against inflammation-mediated damage. However, the underlying mechanisms by which m+agnolol exerts anti-inflammatory effects on macrophages remain unclear. OBJECTIVE: In this study, network pharmacology and experimental validation were used to assess the effect of magnolol on inflammation caused by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) in RAW264.7 cells. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Genes related to magnolol were identified in the PubChem and Swiss Target Prediction databases, and gene information about macrophage polarization was retrieved from the GeneCards, OMIM, and PharmGKB databases. Analysis of protein-protein interactions was performed with STRING, and Cytoscape was used to construct a component-target-disease network. GO and KEGG enrichment analyses were performed to ascertain significant molecular biological processes and signaling pathways. LPS was used to construct the inflammatory cell model. ELISA and qRT‒PCR were used to examine the expression levels of inflammationassociated factors, immunofluorescence was used to examine macrophage markers (CD86 and CD206), and western blotting was used to examine protein expression levels. RESULTS: The hub target genes of magnolol that act on macrophage polarization were MDM2, MMP9, IL-6, TNF, EGFR, AKT1, and ERBB2. The experimental validation results showed that magnolol treatment decreased the levels of proinflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-1ß, and IL-6). Moreover, the levels of anti-inflammatory factors (IL-10 and IL-4) were increased. In addition, magnolol upregulated the expression of M2 markers (Agr-1, Fizzl, and CD206) and downregulated M1 markers (CD86). The cell experiment results supported the network pharmacological results and demonstrated that magnolol alleviated inflammation by modulating the PI3k-Akt and P62/keap1/Nrf2 signaling pathways. CONCLUSION: According to network pharmacology and experimental validation, magnolol attenuated inflammation in LPS-induced RAW264.7 cells mainly by inhibiting M1 polarization and enhancing M2 polarization by activating the PI3K/Akt and P62/keap1/Nrf2 signaling pathways.

BACKGROUND: Increasing evidence show that women across the world face unacceptable mistreatment during childbirth. Person-centered maternity care is fundamental and essential to quality of healthcare services. The aim of this study was to translate and determine the psychometric properties of the Person-Centered Maternity Care (PCMC) Scale among Chinese postpartum women. METHODS: A cross-sectional study was conducted among 1235 post-partum women in China. The cross-cultural adaptation process followed the Beaton intercultural debugging guidelines. A total of 1235 women were included to establish the psychometric properties of the PCMC. A demographic characteristics form and the PCMC were used for data collection. The psychometric properties of the PCMC were evaluated by examining item analysis, exploratory factor analysis, known-groups discriminant validity, and internal consistency. RESULTS: The number of extracted common factors was limited to three (dignity & respect, communication & autonomy, supportive care), explaining a total variance of 40.8%. Regarding internal consistency, the Cronbach's alpha coefficient and split-half reliability of the full PCMC score were 0.989 and 0.852, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: The Chinese version of the PCMC is a reliable and valid tool to assess person-centered care during childbirth in China.

BACKGROUND: The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to spread worldwide. Integrated Chinese and Western medicine have had some successes in treating COVID-19. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of three traditional Chinese medicine drugs and three herbal formulas (3-drugs-3-formulas) in patients with COVID-19. SEARCH STRATEGY: Relevant studies were identified from 12 electronic databases searched from their establishment to April 7, 2022. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs), non-RCTs and cohort studies that evaluated the effects of 3-drugs-3-formulas for COVID-19. The treatment group was treated with one of the 3-drugs-3-formulas plus conventional treatment. The control group was treated with conventional treatment. DATA EXTRACTION AND ANALYSIS: Two evaluators screened and selected literature independently, then extracted basic information and assessed risk of bias. The treatment outcome measures were duration of main symptoms, hospitalization time, aggravation rate and mortality. RevMan 5.4 was used to analyze the pooled results reported as mean difference (MD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) for continuous data and risk ratio (RR) with 95% CI for dichotomous data. RESULTS: Forty-one studies with a total of 13,260 participants were identified. Our analysis suggests that compared with conventional treatment, the combination of 3-drugs-3-formulas might shorten duration of fever (MD = -1.39; 95% CI: -2.19 to -0.59; P < 0.05), cough (MD = -1.57; 95% CI: -2.16 to -0.98; P < 0.05) and fatigue (MD = -1.36; 95% CI: -2.21 to -0.51; P < 0.05), decrease length of hospital stay (MD = -2.62; 95% CI -3.52 to -1.72; P < 0.05), the time for nucleic acid conversion (MD = -2.92; 95% CI: -4.26 to -1.59; P < 0.05), aggravation rate (RR = 0.49; 95% CI: 0.38 to 0.64; P < 0.05) and mortality (RR = 0.34; 95% CI: 0.19 to 0.62; P < 0.05), and increase the recovery rate of chest computerized tomography manifestations (RR = 1.22; 95% CI: 1.14 to 1.3; P < 0.05) and total effectiveness (RR = 1.24; 95% CI: 1.09 to 1.42; P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The 3-drugs-3-formulas can play an active role in treating all stages of COVID-19. No severe adverse events related to 3-drugs-3-formulas were observed. Hence, 3-drugs-3-formulas combined with conventional therapies have effective therapeutic value for COVID-19 patients. Further long-term high-quality studies are essential to demonstrate the clinical benefits of each formula. Objective: This study aims to translate the Health Professional Communication Skills Scale (HP-CSS) into Chinese and assess its psychometric properties. Methods: A total of 836 healthcare professionals were recruited. The demographic characteristics form and HP-CSS were used for data collection. The psychometric properties of HP-CSS were evaluated by examining item analysis, construct validity, known-group discriminant validity, internal consistency, and split-half reliability. Results: In terms of item analysis, the critical ratio (CR) of 18 items was both >3 (CR ranging from 9.937 to 28.816), and the score of each item was positively correlated with the total score (r ranging from 0.357 to 0.778, P < 0.001). The fit indices showed that the original correlated four-factor model of HP-CSS was adequate: χ2 =722.801; df = 126; χ2/df = 5.737; RMSEA = 0.075; CFI = 0.923; NNFI = 0.908; TLI = 0.906; IFI = 0.923. In terms of known-group discriminant validity, the HP-CSS total score was related to gender, occupation, work years, and communication skill training. Cronbach's α coefficient was 0.922, and the split-half reliability was 0.865 for the total scale. Conclusion: The Chinese version of the HP-CSS is a reliable and valid instrument to evaluate communication skills among healthcare professionals in China.

Rapid laboratory detection is remarkably crucial to diagnosing coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection, due to whose outbreak causes to the world pandemic. The BinaxNOW antigen card (BinaxNOW) is a simple, effective, and cheap tool to detect severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The meta-analysis in this study was conducted to evaluate the diagnostic performance of BinaxNOW for SARS-CoV-2. The researchers independently retrieved the related databases (PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library) before May 1st, 2021, and extracted the relevant data based on the early inclusion/exclusion criterion. Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Study-2 was used to evaluate the quality of the enrolled studies. Stata 16.0, Meta-DiSc 1.4, and Review Manager 5.3 were used to generate analytical data for the statistical analysis. 59 sets of data were identified from the seven studies included in this meta-analysis. The combined sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, diagnostic odds ratio, and their 95% confidence intervals were 0.77 (0.76 to 0.79), 0.99 (0.99 to 0.99), 65.72 (48.23 to 89.56), 0.23 (0.19 to 0.28), and 461.10 (281.55 to 755.13), respectively. The area under curve was 0.9910 in the summary receiver operating characteristic curve. BinaxNOW is beneficial for symptomatic patients' onset within 7 days. CT value and testing site may be the heterogeneity source of BinaxNOW accuracy. Moreover, this technology has an efficient performance for diagnosing COVID-19, especially in patients with heavy viral load. BinaxNOW may become a practical tool for large-scale or at-home use for COVID-19 in the post-pandemic era.Highlights● Pooled sensitivity with 0.77 and specificity with 0.99 in the BinaxNOW assay.● CT value and testing site may be the heterogeneity source of BinaxNOW accuracy.● BinaxNOW is beneficial for symptomatic patients' onset within 7 days.● BinaxNOW may become a practical tool for large-scale or at-home use for COVID-19.

Introduction: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients are particularly vulnerable to the Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19). Currently, no anti-NSCLC/COVID-19 treatment options are available. As ginsenoside Rg3 is beneficial to NSCLC patients and has been identified as an entry inhibitor of the virus, this study aims to explore underlying pharmacological mechanisms of ginsenoside Rg3 for the treatment of NSCLC patients with COVID-19. Methods: Based on a large-scale data mining and systemic biological analysis, this study investigated target genes, biological processes, pharmacological mechanisms, and underlying immune implications of ginsenoside Rg3 for NSCLC patients with COVID-19. Results: An important gene set containing 26 target genes was built. Target genes with significant prognostic value were identified, including baculoviral IAP repeat containing 5 (BIRC5), carbonic anhydrase 9 (CA9), endothelin receptor type B (EDNRB), glucagon receptor (GCGR), interleukin 2 (IL2), peptidyl arginine deiminase 4 (PADI4), and solute carrier organic anion transporter family member 1B1 (SLCO1B1). The expression of target genes was significantly correlated with the infiltration level of macrophages, eosinophils, natural killer cells, and T lymphocytes. Ginsenoside Rg3 may benefit NSCLC patients with COVID-19 by regulating signaling pathways primarily involved in anti-inflammation, immunomodulation, cell cycle, cell fate, carcinogenesis, and hemodynamics. Conclusions: This study provided a comprehensive strategy for drug discovery in NSCLC and COVID-19 based on systemic biology approaches. Ginsenoside Rg3 may be a prospective drug for NSCLC patients with COVID-19. Future studies are needed to determine the value of ginsenoside Rg3 for NSCLC patients with COVID-19.

BACKGROUND: Evaluating caregiver burden and its health impact is an essential component of long-term care plan for children with disabilities; the Caregiver Difficulties Scale (CDS) has high conceptual sensitivity. The aim of this study was to adapt the CDS to Chinese and investigates the psychometric properties of this tool. METHODS: The study was carried out among caregivers of children with cerebral palsy (n = 194). The CDS, Caregivers Burden Inventory (CBI) and World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQOL-BREF) were used for data collection. Twenty experts were consulted to evaluate the content validity of the scale. The confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to measure the construct validity of CDS. The Spearman correlation coefficients were calculated among CDS, CBI and WHOQOL-BREF to examine the convergent validity and discriminant validity. The reliability was evaluated by examining internal consistency and test-retest reliability. RESULTS: The result of expert consultation showed that the S-CVI was 0.894 and the I-CVI ranged from 0.70 to 1.00. The fit indices showed that the original correlated four-factor model of CDS was adequate: χ2 = 268.397; df = 243; χ2 /df = 1.105; RMSEA = 0.023; CFI = 0.985; NNFI = 0.869; TLI = 0.982; IFI = 0.986. The score of CDS was positively strong associated with the scores of CBI (r = +0.764); negatively correlating with the scores of WHOQOL-BREF (r = -0.627). The Cronbach's alpha was 0.840; intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) value was 0.843. CONCLUSIONS: The Chinese version of the CDS is a valid and reliable tool to evaluate burden for caregivers of children with CP in China.

Background: Previous studies implicated matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), such as MMP-7, in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) by showing increased activity during inflammation of the gut. However, the pathophysiological roles of MMP-7 have not been clearly elucidated. Methods: The expression of MMP-7 was assessed in colonic biopsies of patients with ulcerative colitis (UC), in rodents with experimental colitis, and in cell-based assays with cytokines. Wild-type and MMP-7-null mice treated with dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) or trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid were used for determining the pro-inflammatory function(s) of MMP-7 in vivo. Results: MMP-7 was highly expressed in patients with UC and in rodents with experimental colitis. IL-1ß, IL-4, IL-13, TNFα, or lipopolysaccharide enhanced MMP-7 expression in human colonic epithelial cells, rat colonic smooth muscle cells, and THP-1-derived macrophages. Active MMP-7 degraded tight junction protein Claudin-7 in epithelial cells, cleaved recombinant Claudin-7 in cell-free system, and increased Caco-2 monolayer permeability. Immunostaining of colon biopsies revealed up-regulation of MMP-7 and reduction of Claudin-7 in UC patients. Compared to wild-type mice, Mmp7 -/- mice had significantly less inflammation in the colon upon DSS insult. DSS-induced alterations in junction proteins were mitigated in Mmp7 -/- mice, suggesting that MMP-7 disrupts the intestinal barrier. MMP-7 antibody significantly ameliorated colonic inflammation and Claudin-7 reduction in 2 different rodent models of colitis. Summary: MMP-7 impairs intestinal epithelial barrier by cleavage of Claudin-7, and thus aggravating inflammation. These studies uncovered Claudin-7 as a novel substrate of MMP-7 in the intestinal epithelium and reinforced MMP-7 as a potential therapeutic target for IBD.

Background: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the leading cause of coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19), is an emerging global health crisis. Lung cancer patients are at a higher risk of COVID-19 infection. With the increasing number of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with COVID-19, there is an urgent need of efficacious drugs for the treatment of COVID-19/NSCLC. Methods: Based on a comprehensive bioinformatic and systemic biological analysis, this study investigated COVID-19/NSCLC interactional hub genes, detected common pathways and molecular biomarkers, and predicted potential agents for COVID-19 and NSCLC. Results: A total of 122 COVID-19/NSCLC interactional genes and 21 interactional hub genes were identified. The enrichment analysis indicated that COVID-19 and NSCLC shared common signaling pathways, including cell cycle, viral carcinogenesis, and p53 signaling pathway. In total, 10 important transcription factors (TFs) and 44 microRNAs (miRNAs) participated in regulations of 21 interactional hub genes. In addition, 23 potential candidates were predicted for the treatment of COVID-19 and NSCLC. Conclusion: This study increased our understanding of pathophysiology and screened potential drugs for COVID-19 and NSCLC.

With the development of microecology in recent years, the relationship between intestinal bacteria and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has attracted considerable attention. Accumulating evidence suggests that dysbiotic microbiota plays an active role in triggering or worsening the inflammatory process in IBD and that fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is an attractive therapeutic strategy since transferring a healthy microbiota to IBD patient could restore the appropriate host-microbiota communication. However, the molecular mechanisms are unclear, and the efficacy of FMT has not been very well established. Thus, further studies in animal models of IBD are necessary. In this method, we applied FMT from wild-type C57BL/6J mice to IL-10 deficient mice, a widely used mouse model of colitis. The study elaborates on collecting fecal pellets from the donor mice, making the fecal solution/suspension, administering the fecal solution, and monitoring the disease. We found that FMT significantly mitigated the cardiac impairment in IL-10 knockout mice, underlining its therapeutic potential for IBD management.

Background and Aims: While the interplay between heart and gut in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) has previously been noted, how the inflamed gut impairs heart function remain elusive. We hypothesized that exosomal miRNAs of gut origin induce cardiac remodeling in IBD. Our aim was to identify plasma exosomal miRNAs that not only are of diagnostic value but also contribute to cardiac remodeling in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC). Methods: Plasma exosomes were isolated from UC patients and healthy control subjects and exosomal miRNAs were profiled by next-generation sequencing. Exosomal miR-29b levels in CCD841 CoN colon epithelial cells were detected by RT-qPCR. Exosomes packaged with miR-29b were incubated with H9c2 cells or administered to live mice. Results: The plasma exosomal miRNA profiles of the UC patients were significantly different from that of the controls and 20 miRNAs including miR-29b were differentially expressed. In CCD841 CoN cells, TNFα, IL-1ß, and H2O2 significantly elevated miR-29b in both the cells and their secreted exosomes (p < 0.01), suggesting that intestinal epithelium secrets exosomes rich in miR-29b in IBD. In H9c2 myoblast cells, miR-29b modulated multiple genes including brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). Epithelial cell-derived exosomes packaged with miR-29b also attenuated BDNF and increased cleaved caspase 3, suggestive of apoptosis. Furthermore, tail vein injection of engineered exosomes with high levels of miR-29b suppressed BDNF and augmented cleaved caspase 3 in the heart of adult mouse (p < 0.01). Conclusion: Plasma exosomal miRNA profile could be a novel diagnostic approach for IBD. Excessive plasma exosomal miR-29b suppresses critical proteins like BDNF in IBD, leading to cardiac impairment.

Based on the panel data of 285 prefecture-level cities and above in China from 2005 to 2019, this paper takes the "Broadband China" pilot policy as a quasi-natural experiment and evaluates the impact of Internet development on urban eco-efficiency (symbolized by the "Broadband China" policy) by constructing multi-period difference-in-difference (DID) and spatial DID models. Results show that: the "Broadband China" pilot policy significantly improves the urban eco-efficiency: the eco-efficiency in pilot cities is about 16.8% higher than that in other cities. The results remain consistent after testing for robustness, including using estimation methods, excluding the sample of key cities, changing core explanatory variables, and introducing instrumental variables. Next, the influence of the "Broadband China" pilot policy on eco-efficiency is characterized by significant regional heterogeneity: Internet development significantly improves the eco-efficiency in the central, eastern and northeastern regions that are economically more developed and not resource-dependent. In contrast, this effect is not obvious in the western region that is economically less developed and resource-dependent. Moreover, the influencing mechanism of Internet development on eco-efficiency suggests that the "Broadband China" strategy boosts urban eco-efficiency by increasing the Internet penetration rate, improving technological innovation capacity, and upgrading the industrial structure. In addition, results from the spatial DID models indicate that the "Broadband China" pilot policy improves the eco-efficiency in local cities and significantly enhances that in neighboring cities. Based on this, this paper puts forward some suggestions regarding promoting new network infrastructure construction and differentiating development policies to fit local conditions.

Breast cancer is the most prevalent cancer worldwide and metastasis accounts for the majority of associated deaths. Altered lipid metabolism has been proved to be involved with breast cancer, yet the underlying mechanism in lipid metabolism mediated metastasis in breast cancer remains inadequately understood. Evidence have indicated that adipocytes can produce chemokine ligand 2 (CCL2), and several studies have shown that tumor metastasis and patient survival is associated with atypical chemokine receptors/chemokine decoy receptors. We are interested in the factors that may influence cancer metastasis and patient prognosis, particularly in patients with altered lipid metabolism. In this paper, we propose a hypothesis that patients with increased expression levels of atypical chemokine receptor 2 (ACKR2) receptors will have less chance for tumor metastasis, whereas patients with decreased ACKR2 expression but high levels of chemokine receptor 2 positive (CCR2 + ) monocytes are more likely to develop metastasis and have worse outcomes. However, in patients with lower ACKR2 expression level but elevated level of CCR2 + NK cells, primary tumor can be suppressed and therefore present better outcomes.

To enhance the depth of excavation and promote the intelligence of acupoint compatibility, a method of constructing weighted network, which combines the attributes of acupoints and supervised learning, is proposed for link prediction. Medical cases of cervical spondylosis with acupuncture treatment are standardized, and a weighted network is constructed according to acupoint attributes. Multiple similarity features are extracted from the network and input into a supervised learning model for prediction. And, the performance of the algorithm is evaluated through evaluation indicators. The experiment finally screened 67 eligible medical cases, and the network model involved 141 acupoint nodes with 1048 edge. Except for the Preferential Attachment similarity index and the Decision Tree model, all other similarity indexes performed well in the model, among which the combination of PI index and Multilayer Perception model had the best prediction effect with an AUC value of 0.9351, confirming the feasibility of weighted networks combined with supervised learning for link prediction, also as a strong support for clinical point selection.

Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are classified as chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) with known extraintestinal manifestations. The interplay between heart and gut in IBD has previously been noted, but the mechanisms remain elusive. Our objective was to identify microRNAs mediating molecular remodeling and resulting cardiac impairment in a rat model of colitis. To induce chronic colitis, dextran sodium sulfate (DSS) was given to adult rats for 5 days followed by 9 days with normal drinking water for 4 cycles over 8 weeks. Echocardiography was performed to evaluate heart function. DSS-induced colitis led to a significant decrease in ejection fraction, increased left ventricular mass and size, and elevated B-type natriuretic protein. MicroRNA profiling showed a total of 56 miRNAs significantly increased in the heart by colitis, 8 of which are predicted to target brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF). RT-qPCR validated the increases of miR-1b, Let-7d, and miR-155. Transient transfection revealed that miR-155 significantly suppresses BDNF in H9c2 cells. Importantly, DSS colitis markedly decreased BDNF in both myocardium and serum. Levels of various proteins critical to cardiac homeostasis were also altered. Functional studies showed that BDNF increases cell viability and mitigates H2O2-induced oxidative damage in H9c2 cells, demonstrating its protective role in the adult heart. Mechanistically, cellular experiments identified IL-1ß as the inflammatory mediator upregulating cardiac miR-155; this effect was confirmed in adult rats. Furthermore, IL-1ß neutralizing antibody ameliorated the DSS-induced increase in miR-155 and concurrent decrease in BDNF in the adult heart, showing therapeutic potential. Our findings indicate that chronic colitis impairs heart function through an IL-1ß→miR-155→BDNF signaling axis.

Traditional methods for aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) detection are complex, time-consuming, labor-intensive, and high cost. Moreover, they require sophisticated large-scale instrumentation, which limits their on-site rapid detection. Herein, phycocyanin fluorescent nanospheres based on fluorescence immunochromatographic assay were developed for quantitative detection of AFB1 at parts-per-billion (ppb) levels in foodstuffs. Phycocyanin and anti-AFB1 monoclonal antibodies were coupled on the surface of latex nanospheres to amplify the fluorescence signal and improve the sensitivity. The fluorescence intensity was measured by a self-developed smartphone-based reading system. Under the optimal conditions, this approach achieved quantitative point-of-care detection of AFB1 within 25 min. The calibration curve for AFB1 was linear in the range of 0.2-48 ppb, and the limit of detection was 0.16 ppb. The practical applicability of the proposed approach was demonstrated by the determination of AFB1 in naturally contaminated samples, and the results were consistent with HPLC detection.
