RESUMEN

Ionic liquids have been widely used to improve the efficiency and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs), and are generally believed to passivate defects on the grain boundaries of perovskites. However, few studies have focused on the relevant effects of ionic liquids on intragrain defects in perovskites which have been shown to be critical for the performance of PSCs. In this work, the effect of ionic liquid 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium iodide (HMII) on intragrain defects of formamidinium lead iodide (FAPbI3) perovskite is investigated. Abundant {111}c intragrain planar defects in pure FAPbI3 grains are found to be significantly reduced by the addition of the ionic liquid HMII, shown by using ultra-low-dose selected area electron diffraction. As a result, longer charge carrier lifetimes, higher photoluminescence quantum yield, better charge carrier transport properties, lower Urbach energy, and current-voltage hysteresis are achieved, and the champion power conversion efficiency of 24.09% is demonstrated. These observations suggest that ionic liquids significantly improve device performance resulting from the elimination of {111}c intragrain planar defects.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Previous studies had explored the diagnostic or prognostic value of NRP-1/CD304 in blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm (BPDCN), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL), whereas the expression and application value of NRP-1/CD304 in other common hematological diseases have not been reported. METHODS: Bone marrow samples from 297 newly diagnosed patients with various hematological diseases were collected to detect the expression of NRP-1/CD304 by flow cytometry (FCM). The diagnostic efficacy of NRP-1/ CD304-positive diseases was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, and the area under the ROC curve (AUC) was compared. RESULTS: In the research cohort, the total positive rate of NRP-1/CD304 was 14.81% (44/297), mainly distributed in BPDCN (100%, 6/6), B-ALL (48.61%, 35/72), and AML (4.48%, 3/67), with statistically significant differences (p < 0.01). Other diseases, such as T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (B-NHL), T/NK-cell lymphoma and plasma cell neoplasms, did not express NRP-1/CD304. The AUC of NRP-1/CD304 was 0.936 (95% CI 0.898-0.973), 0.723 (95% CI 0.646-0.801), and 0.435 (95% CI 0.435) in BPDCN, B-ALL and AML, respectively. Besides, CD304 was commonly expressed in B-ALL with BCR-ABL1 gene rearrangement (p = 0.000), and CD304 expression was positively correlated with CD34 co-expression (p = 0.009) and CD10 co-expression (p = 0.007). CONCLUSIONS: NRP-1/CD304 is only expressed in BPDCN, B-ALL and AML, but not in other common hematological diseases. This indicates that NRP-1/CD304 has no obvious diagnostic and follow-up study value in hematological diseases other than BPDCN, B-ALL, and AML.

RESUMEN

Salvianic acid A (SAA), as the main bioactive component of the traditional Chinese herb Salvia miltiorrhiza, has important application value in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. In this study, a two-step bioprocess for the preparation of SAA from l-DOPA was developed. In the first step, l-DOPA was transformed to 3,4-dihydroxyphenylalanine (DHPPA) using engineered Escherichia coli cells expressing membrane-bound L-amino acid deaminase from Proteus vulgaris. After that, the unpurified DHPPA was directly converted into SAA by permeabilized recombinant E. coli cells co-expressing d-lactate dehydrogenase from Pediococcus acidilactici and formate dehydrogenase from Mycobacterium vaccae N10. Under optimized conditions, 48.3 mM of SAA could be prepared from 50 mM of l-DOPA, with a yield of 96.6%. Therefore, the bioprocess developed here was not only environmentally friendly, but also exhibited excellent production efficiency and, thus, is promising for industrial SAA production.

RESUMEN

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are a type of typical environmental pollutant with carcinogenic effects and high ecological risk. With the development of industry, surface water acts as a primary sink for PAHs. Owing to their low solubility, a significant amount of PAHs are adsorbed onto suspended particulate matter in surface water, which presents a serious risk to human health and the ecological environment. To protect human health and aquatic organisms, a systematic assessment of the trends in PAHs exposure risk is essential. Based on long-term monitoring data from 2002 to 2016, this study systematically evaluated the spatiotemporal distribution and source apportionment of PAHs adsorbed on suspended particulate matter in surface water. The results of the Mann-Kendall test indicated that pollution levels of PAHs decreased from 2012 to 2016. The maximum average content was 6239 µg·kg-1, and the minimum was 2760 µg·kg-1. Benzo(b)fluoranthene, benzo(k)fluoranthene, chrysene, and benzo(a)anthracene showed significant declines from 2002-2016 (P<0.05). Levels of benzo(a)pyrene, dibenzo(a,h)anthracene, and indeno(1,2,3-cd)pyrene were steady. Wavelet analysis showed that the pollution level of PAHs had significant periodic oscillations for surface water. Midstream and downstream Σ16PAHs showed significant declines from 2002-2016 (P<0.05), whereas upstream Σ16PAHs were steady. ANOVA analysis showed that the spatial difference was significant and occurred in the following order:midstream (6168 µg·kg-1)>upstream (5407 µg·kg-1)>downstream (3412 µg·kg-1). Diagnostic ratio analysis and the positive matrix factorization model suggested that the major sources of PAHs were traffic sources, coal burning sources, and biomass combustion sources, which accounted for 40.9%, 33.7%, and 25.4%, respectively. The contribution of traffic sources decreased by 25.9%. The contributions of coal burning sources and biomass combustion sources increased by 4.8% and 21.1% from 2002-2009 to 2010-2016, respectively. These results provide scientific reference for risk analysis and the control of PAHs pollution in surface water.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To study the clinical effect of individualized controllable stress external fixator in the treatment of open tibial fractures. METHODS: From December 2018 to July 2020, 60 patients with open tibial fractures were treated, including 35 males and 25 females; The age ranged from 23 to 58 years; The course of disease was 1.2 to 10.0 h. According to the stress stimulation on the fracture end after operation, all patients were divided into 4 groups, including non stress group (15 cases) and 3 groups with different stress stimulation(15 cases in each group). All patients with open tibial fractures were treated with controllable stress external fixator. Four weeks after operation, the stress group adjusted the elastic external fixator to apply axial stress of 1/6, 2/6 and 3/6 of their own weight to the fracture end based on the patient's weight. The wound healing of all patients after operation was observed, the plain CT images of fracture ends at 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks after operation were followed up, the average valueof callus area per 10 scanning planes was calculated, and the differences between the groups were compared. The fracture healing was observed and statistically analyzed. RESULTS: The wounds of all patients healed well, of which 7 patients underwent secondary free skin grafting and transferred myocutaneous flap. All patients were followed up for 12 to 24 months, with an average of 16.5 months. The final follow-up results showed that the fracture healing of stress groups and non stress group had significant difference(P<0.05). After axial stress stimulation at the fracture end, CT examination was performed on the fracture end of all patients at 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 weeks. The average values of callus area in 10 plain scanning planes were calculated as follows:no stress group (0.275±0.092) mm2, (0.383±0.051) mm2, (0.412±0.048) mm2, (0.472± 0.019) mm2, (0.548±0.036) mm2, the area of callus growth in the stress group was significantly higher than that in the non stress group. There was significant difference among these groups(P<0.05). CONCLUSION: When the controllable stress external fixation technique is used to treat open tibial fractures, the elastic external fixator is adjusted according to the patient's own weight after 4 weeks, and a certain axial stress is applied to the fracture end, which is conducive to the fracture healing of patients, and can reduce the incidence of delayed union or nonunion of open fractures, which has a certain application value.

RESUMEN

Patients with HER2-positive gastric cancer (GC) can benefit from the addition of trastuzumab. However, not all patients with HER2-positive GC respond to trastuzumab. Biomarkers affecting its efficacy in patients with advanced gastric cancer (AGC) are largely unknown. Therefore, classifying GC into molecularly distinct subtypes to accurately distinguish between GC patients who would and would not benefit from trastuzumab is worthwhile. Tumor mutation burden (TMB) is a notable feature in GC and whether TMB influences trastuzumab efficacy is still unknown. Herein, we report the case of a 61-year-old man who was diagnosed with metastatic HER2-positive gastric adenocarcinoma that had spread to the liver (T4aN0M1, stage IV). Esophagogastroduodenoscopy revealed a circular ulcer in the posterior wall of the stomach. A computed tomography (CT) scan revealed a 2-cm diameter liver metastasis. Immunohistochemical analysis of the endoscopic biopsy tumor revealed 3+ positive expression for HER2. Whole-exome sequencing (WES) of the tumor tissue revealed 3,736 somatic mutations in 2,423 genes and a very high TMB of 50.3 mutations/Mb. Immunohistochemistry revealed that the patient had mismatch repair-proficient (pMMR) GC. The patient received first-line trastuzumab-containing chemotherapy, and after 2 courses of sequential metronomic trastuzumab-containing chemotherapy, restaging CT showed that the liver metastasis had disappeared. Following resection, the patient had no recurrence and no new tumor metastasis after a follow-up of period nearly 7 years. This study is the first to report that pMMR GC with a high TMB has a favorable response to trastuzumab. The combination of HER2 positivity and a high TMB may be sufficiently predictive of sensitivity to trastuzumab in AGC.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: To compare the survival outcomes and neurocognitive dysfunction in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with brain metastases (BM ≤10) treated by whole-brain radiotherapy (WBRT) with sequential integrated boost (SEB) or simultaneous integrated boost (SIB). MATERIALS: Fifty-two NSCLC patients with a limited number of BMs were retrospectively analyzed. Twenty cases received WBRT+SEB (WBRT: 3 Gy*10 fractions and BMs: 4 Gy*3 fractions; SEB group), and 32 cases received WBRT+SIB (WBRT: 3 Gy*10 fractions and BMs: 4 Gy*10 fractions; SIB group). The survival and mini-mental state examination (MMSE) scores were compared between the groups. RESULTS: The cumulative 1-, 2-, and 3-year survival rates in the SEB vs SIB groups were 60.0% vs 47.8%, 41.1% vs 19.1%, and 27.4% vs 0%, respectively. The median survival times in the SEB and SIB groups were 15 and 10 months, respectively. The difference in survival rate was significant (P = .046). Subgroup analysis revealed that 1-, 2-, and 3-year survival rates and median survival time in the SEB group were significantly superior to those of the SIB group, especially for male patients (age <60 years) with 1-2 BMs (P < .05). The MMSE score of the SEB group at 3 months after radiation was higher than that of the SIB group (P < .05). Nevertheless, WBRT+SEB required a longer treatment time and greater cost (P < .005). CONCLUSIONS: WBRT + SEB results in better survival outcomes than WBRT+SIB, especially for male patients (age <60 years) with 1-2 BMs. WBRT+SEB also appeared to induce less neurocognitive impairment than WBRT+SIB.

RESUMEN

In southern region, the proto- porcelain have been found in large number and its excavation sites are relatively concentrated, thus its processing technique and origin have been studied thoroughly. However, as to proto-porcelain in northern region, the unearthed sites are scattered in distribution and its quantity is less. So there is limited analysis as to the technology. Since shaanxi zhouyuan relics unearthed a large number of proto-porcelain, it is necessary to give detailed analysis to them. In order to explore the technological characteristic of proto-porcelain of Western Zhou Dynasty which was excavated from Zhouyuan site in Shaanxi province, in this article three-dimensional video microscopy system was used to observe the microstructure and energy dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer was used to test the chemical composition of the proto-porcelain body and glaze. The results of microscopic observation indicated that the proto-porcelain body quality was rough and had many unmelting particles and pores; the glaze layer was uneven and distributes many bubbles. The results of chemical composition in the body showed that the content of Al2O3 was between 11.8%~17.21%, SiO2 is 75%~80.5%, K2O is 3%~7.85%. However the content in the glaze of CaO is between 11.08%~23.94%, P2O5 is 1%~3.18%, MnO is 0.24%~1%; the content of MnO, P2O5, K2O in the glaze had improved greatly more than those in the body. The above results showed that the raw materials of proto-porcelain body may use the chinastone which contains more potassium; and the plant ash should be added in the calcareous glaze; the manufacturing characteristic of the proto-porcelain found in Zhouyuan site was still at the primary stage in Chinese porcelain's history.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of transcutaneous acupoint electrical stimulation (TAES) combined with general anesthesia (acupuncture analgesia combined with general anesthesia) on postoperative pain, nausea and vomiting and exhausted defecation symptoms in patients undergoing gynecological laparoscopic operation. METHODS: Sixty patients with gynecological laparoscopic operation were randomly divided into TAES group and control group, with 30 cases in each group. Patients of the control group received simple general anesthesia and those of the TAES group were treated with general anesthesia and TAES of bilateral Zusanli (ST 36) and Liangqiu (ST 34) . Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) was used for measuring the patients' pain reaction at 8 h, 24 h and 72 h after surgery. Symptoms of patients' nausea and vomiting, post-operation exhaust and defecation time were recorded after operation. RESULTS: The VAS scores at time-points of 8 h, 24 h and 72 h and nausea level in the TAES group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P < 0.01, P < 0.05). The vomiting severity of the TAES group was also relatively lower in comparison with the control group, but without significant difference between the two groups (P > 0.05). The post-operation exhaust and defecation time of patients in the TAES group apparently appeared earlier than those of patients in the control group (P < 0.01). CONCLUSION: TAES combined with general anesthesia is effective in reducing post-operative pain and nausea, and improving gastrointestinal function in patients undergoing laparoscopic operation.
