RESUMEN

Broadband photodetectors have drawn intensive attention owing to their wide application prospects in optical communication, imaging, astronomy, and so on. Two-dimensional transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are considered as highly potential candidates for photodetection applications, benefiting from their excellent photoelectric properties. However, most of the photodetectors based on TMDs suffer from low performance in the near-infrared (NIR) region due to the weak optical absorption efficiency near their absorption band edge, which severely constrains their usage for broadband optoelectronics. Here, by taking advantage of the high absorption coefficient and environment-friendly property of Ag2S quantum dots (QDs), the hybrid of multilayer MoSe2/Ag2S QDs is demonstrated with a high-performance broadband photodetection capability (532-1270 nm). The favorable energy band alignment of MoSe2/Ag2S QDs facilitates effective separation and collection of photogenerated carriers, and the heterostructure device exhibits significant enhancement of performance compared to the bare MoSe2 device. High responsivity, detectivity, and external quantum efficiency of 25.5 A/W, 1.45 × 1011 Jones, and 1070% are obtained at a low working voltage of 1 V under 980 nm illumination. The responsivity of the device can reach up to 1.2 A/W at 1270 nm wavelength, which is competitive to the commercial NIR photodetectors. Meanwhile, broadband imaging capability is demonstrated. Our work may open up a facile and eco-friendly approach to construct high-performance broadband photodetectors for next-generation compact optoelectronic applications.

Cancer is a significant global health concern, and finding effective methods to treat it has been a focus of scientific research. It has been discovered that the growth, invasion, and metastasis of tumors are closely related to the environment in which they exist, known as the tumor microenvironment (TME). The immune response interacting with the tumor occurring within the TME constitutes the tumor immune microenvironment, and the immune response can lead to anti-tumor and pro-tumor outcomes and has shown tremendous potential in immunotherapy. A channel called the P2X7 receptor (P2X7R) has been identified within the TME. It is an ion channel present in various immune cells and tumor cells, and its activation can lead to inflammation, immune responses, angiogenesis, immunogenic cell death, and promotion of tumor development. This article provides an overview of the structure, function, and pharmacological characteristics of P2X7R. We described the concept and components of tumor immune microenvironment and the influence immune components has on tumors. We also outlined the impact of P2X7R regulation and how it affects the development of tumors and summarized the effects of drugs targeting P2X7R on tumor progression, both past and current, assisting researchers in treating tumors using P2X7R as a target.

BACKGROUND: This study explored the specific relationship between different lipid indicators and cognitive impairment and aimed to provide a reference for implementing targeted lipid regulation measures to prevent and alleviate cognitive impairment. METHODS: We searched three databases (PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science) for literature related to hyperlipidaemia, lipid levels, and cognitive impairment, and used the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale to evaluate the quality of the identified literature. A meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.4, and the combined effect size ratio using a random-effects model (odds ratio [OR] and 95% confidence interval [CI]) was used to evaluate the association between dyslipidaemia and cognitive impairment. RESULTS: Among initially identified 2247 papers, we ultimately included 18 studies involving a total of 758,074 patients. The results of the meta-analysis revealed that patients with hyperlipidaemia had a 1.23-fold higher risk of cognitive impairment than those with normal lipid levels (OR = 1.23, 95% CI: 1.04-1.47, p = 0.02). Further subgroup analysis showed that elevated total cholesterol (TC) levels increased the risk of cognitive impairment by 1.59-fold (OR = 1.59, 95% CI: 1.27-2.01, p < 0.0001) and were more significant in older or male patients. Moreover, elevated triglyceride levels were inversely correlated with cognitive disorders, whereas elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were unrelated to cognitive impairment risk. CONCLUSIONS: Dyslipidaemia was strongly associated with cognitive impairment, and elevated TC levels were a risk factor for cognitive impairment. Furthermore, the damaging effects of elevated TC levels on cognition were more pronounced in older and male populations.

A low-cross-talk and thermo-insensitive 1×4 coarse wavelength-division multiplexing device is proposed on the silicon-on-insulator platform with the help of compact Mach-Zehnder interferometers (MZIs) and slot waveguides. The compact MZIs are used to achieve wavelength-insensitive power splitting. In the phase shifters, the trade-off between the opposite thermo-optical coefficients of the Si core and SU8 cladding in the slot waveguide is used to overcome the strong thermo-optic effect of silicon. The simulated results show that the cross talk is less than -20d B at central wavelengths and the temperature-dependent wavelength shift is reduced to ∼4.7p m/∘ C. For the four channels, the 1-dB and 3-dB bandwidths are ∼14n m and ∼18n m, respectively.

With the advantages of a moderate band gap, high carrier mobility and good environmental stability, two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors show promising applications in next-generation electronics. However, the accustomed metal-2D semiconductor contact may lead to a strong Fermi level pinning (FLP) effect, which severely limits the practical performance of 2D electronics. Herein, the interfacial properties of the contacts between a promising 2D semiconductor, PtSe2, and a sequence of metal electrodes are systematically investigated. The strong interfacial interactions formed in all metal-PtSe2 contacts lead to chemical bonds and a significant interfacial dipole, resulting in a vertical Schottky barrier for Ag, Au, Pd and Pt-based systems and a lateral Schottky barrier for Al, Cu, Sc and Ti-based systems, with a strong FLP effect. Remarkably, the tunneling probability for most metal-PtSe2 is significantly high and the tunneling-specific resistivity is two orders of magnitude lower than that of the state-of-the-art contacts, demonstrating the high efficiency for electron injection from metals to PtSe2. Moreover, the introduction of h-BN as a buffer layer leads to a weakened FLP effect (S = 0.50) and the transformation into p-type Schottky contact for Pt-PtSe2 contacts. These results reveal the underlying mechanism of the interfacial properties of metal-PtSe2 contacts, which is useful for designing advanced 2D semiconductor-based electronics.

Correlating atomic configurations-specifically, degree of disorder (DOD)-of an amorphous solid with properties is a long-standing riddle in materials science and condensed matter physics, owing to difficulties in determining precise atomic positions in 3D structures1-5. To this end, 2D systems provide insight to the puzzle by allowing straightforward imaging of all atoms6,7. Direct imaging of amorphous monolayer carbon (AMC) grown by laser-assisted depositions has resolved atomic configurations, supporting the modern crystallite view of vitreous solids over random network theory8. Nevertheless, a causal link between atomic-scale structures and macroscopic properties remains elusive. Here we report facile tuning of DOD and electrical conductivity in AMC films by varying growth temperatures. Specifically, the pyrolysis threshold temperature is the key to growing variable-range-hopping conductive AMC with medium-range order (MRO), whereas increasing the temperature by 25 °C results in AMC losing MRO and becoming electrically insulating, with an increase in sheet resistance of 109 times. Beyond visualizing highly distorted nanocrystallites embedded in a continuous random network, atomic-resolution electron microscopy shows the absence/presence of MRO and temperature-dependent densities of nanocrystallites, two order parameters proposed to fully describe DOD. Numerical calculations establish the conductivity diagram as a function of these two parameters, directly linking microstructures to electrical properties. Our work represents an important step towards understanding the structure-property relationship of amorphous materials at the fundamental level and paves the way to electronic devices using 2D amorphous materials.

The comorbid mechanism of depression and chronic pain has been a research hotspot in recent years. Until now, the role of purinergic signals in the comorbid mechanism of depression and chronic pain has not been fully understood. This review mainly summarizes the research results published in PubMed during the past 5 years and concludes that purinergic signaling is a potential therapeutic target for comorbid depression and chronic pain, and the purinergic receptors A1, A2A, P2X3, P2X4, and P2X7and P2Y6, P2Y1, and P2Y12 may be important factors. The main potential pathways are as follows: A1 receptor-related G protein-dependent activation of introverted K+ channels (GIRKs), A2A receptor-related effects on the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK)/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and MAPK/nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) pathways, P2X3 receptor-related effects on dorsal root ganglia (DRG) excitability, P2X4 receptor-related effects on proinflammatory cytokines and inflammasome activation, P2X7 receptor-related effects on ion channels, the NLRP3 inflammasome and brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), and P2Y receptor-related effects on the phospholipase C (PLC)/inositol triphosphate (IP3)/Ca2+ signaling pathway. We hope that the conclusions of this review will provide key ideas for future research on the role of purinergic signaling in the comorbid mechanism of depression and chronic pain.

@#Abstract: Objective To analyze the emergency response and long-term intervention effects after the detection of infectious snails epidemic by loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) assays in Hannan District, Wuhan City, and to explore the application of LAMP in early surveillance and early-warning of schistosomiasis transmission. Methods Snails picked up by the risk monitoring system in Hannan District were examined by anatomical microscopy and LAMP technology to identify the schistosomiasis infection. Emergency response and intensive intervention were initiated in the environment where positive snails appeared, and the long-term effects were evaluated. Results In May 2018, the infectious snails were detected by LAMP technology in Hannan District, and the positive snails were located in Zhujiacha, Dongzhuang Village, Obstacles and weeds were removed and buried by machine in Zhujiacha. 12 700 m2 of snails were killed by drugs, and the mortality rate of snails was more than 80%; no new seropositive persons were found in the emergency examination within 500 m of the positive snail sites. 506 people were examined in Dong Zhuang Village at the end of the year, and 30 positive IHA cases were detected with a blood positive rate of 5.93%, no positive fecal test was found, and all positive blood test patients took preventive medication. The monitoring results of sentinel rats and wild feces were all negative. Health education was carried out, 7 warning signs were deployed and refreshed, and 500 publicity brochures were distributed. After nearly three years of intensified intervention and monitoring in the villages where the positive environment is located, and the density of snails on the stubborn snail has dropped from 0.094/frame to 0.027/frame, and the positive rate of blood test in Dongzhuang Village has steadily dropped from 5.93% to 3.74%. Conclusions The infected snails missed by microscopy were detected by LAMP in Hannan District, which created conditions for the rapid emergency treatment of environment and elimination of positive snail and improved the sensitivity of the surveillance and early warning system in transmission-interrupted areas.

Lymphoplasmacyte-rich meningioma (LPRM) is a rare subtype of meningioma, the specific pathogenesis of which remains unclear. Herein, we report the case of a 48-year-old Asian man who experienced progressive deafness and limb weakness. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed extramedullary masses diffusely growing, wrapping, and compressing the cervical spinal cord. The dural lesion was partially excised by surgery, and postoperative pathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of LPRM. Diffuse LPRM is extremely rare, and its treatment is challenging owing to difficulties associated with surgery and the uncertain efficacy of traditional therapies. Therefore, further clinical practice and basic research are needed to improve the prognosis of diffuse LPRM.

The characterization and bioactive properties of carotenoid produced by Gordonia rubripertincta GH-1 originating from Pixian Douban (PXDB), the Chinese traditional condiment, was investigated. The produced and purified yellow pigment was characterized by ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis), Fourier transformed infrared (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), and was identified as carotenoid lutein. Additionally, the bioactive activity of lutein from G. rubripertincta GH-1 was evaluated by measuring the free radical scavenging capacity in vitro and feeding zebrafish lutein through aqueous solution. The results showed that the carotenoid lutein had strong antioxidant capacity and a protective effect on zebrafish eye cells, which could inhibit the apoptosis of eye cells in a concentration dependent manner. The results suggested that carotenoid lutein from G. rubripertincta GH-1 could be utilized as a potential source of natural antioxidants or functional additives for food/pharmaceutical industries.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of oral anticoagulants (OACs) in real-world elderly patients with comorbidities of stable coronary artery disease (SCAD) and atrial fibrillation (AF). METHODS: Elderly patients (aged ≥ 65 years old) diagnosed with SCAD and AF were consecutively recruited and grouped into patients with or without oral anticoagulant (OAC) treatment. Follow-up was performed for 5 years. Major adverse cardiac events (MACEs) were defined as a composite of all-cause death, nonfatal myocardial infarction (MI), nonfatal stroke, and systemic embolism. Major bleeding outcomes were defined as events that were type ≥ 3 based on the Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) criteria. The net clinical outcomes were defined as the combination of MACEs and bleeding of BARC type ≥ 3. RESULTS: A cohort of 832 eligible patients (78 ± 6.70 years) was included. Compared to the patients without OAC treatment (n = 531, 63.82%), the patients treated with OAC (n = 301, 36.18%) were much younger, had higher body mass index (BMI), and had lower prevalence of heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), renal insufficiency, and previous myocardial infarction. During the follow-up of 5 years, compared to the patients without OAC treatment, patients with OAC had a significantly lower risk of MACEs (20.60% vs. 58.95%, adjusted HR: 0.21, 95% CI: 0.15-0.30, p < 0.001) but a higher risk of BARC ≥ 3 bleeding events (4.65% vs. 1.32%, adjusted HR: 4.71, 95% CI: 1.75-12.64, p = 0.002). In combination, a lower risk of net clinical outcomes could be observed in the patients with OACs (23.26% vs. 58.96%, adjusted HR: 0.27, 95% CI: 0.19-0.38, p < 0.001). Among the patients with OAC treatment, no significant difference was found for MACEs or BARC ≥ 3 bleeding events between the patients with or without comedications of oral antiplatelet agents. CONCLUSIONS: A net clinical benefit of efficacy and safety could be observed in OAC-treated elderly patients with SCAD and AF. This benefit is independent of the comedications of oral antiplatelet treatment.

Background Nicorandil was reported to improve microvascular dysfunction and reduce reperfusion injury when administered before primary percutaneous coronary intervention. In this multicenter, prospective, randomized, double-blind clinical trial (CHANGE [Effects of Nicorandil Administration on Infarct Size in Patients With ST-Segment-Elevation Myocardial Infarction Undergoing Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention]), we investigated the effects of nicorandil administration on infarct size in patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention. Methods and Results A total of 238 patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction were randomized to receive intravenous nicorandil (n=120) or placebo (n=118) before reperfusion. Patients in the nicorandil group received a 6-mg intravenous bolus of nicorandil followed by continuous infusion at a rate of 6 mg/h. Patients in the placebo group received the same dose of placebo. The predefined primary end point was infarct size on cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging performed at 5 to 7 days and 6 months after reperfusion. CMR imaging was performed in 201 patients (84%). Infarct size on CMR imaging at 5 to 7 days after reperfusion was significantly smaller in the nicorandil group compared with the placebo (control) group (26.5±17.1 g versus 32.4±19.3 g; P=0.022), and the effect remained significant on long-term CMR imaging at 6 months after reperfusion (19.5±14.4 g versus 25.7±15.4 g; P=0.008). The incidence of no-reflow/slow-flow phenomenon during primary percutaneous coronary intervention was much lower in the nicorandil group (9.2% [11/120] versus 26.3% [31/118]; P=0.001), and thus, complete ST-segment resolution was more frequently observed in the nicorandil group (90.8% [109/120] versus 78.0% [92/118]; P=0.006). Left ventricular ejection fraction on CMR imaging was significantly higher in the nicorandil group than in the placebo group at both 5 to 7 days (47.0±10.2% versus 43.3±10.0%; P=0.011) and 6 months (50.1±9.7% versus 46.4±8.5%; P=0.009) after reperfusion. Conclusions In the present trial, administration of nicorandil before primary percutaneous coronary intervention led to improved myocardial perfusion grade, increased left ventricular ejection fraction, and reduced myocardial infarct size in patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction. Background: The efficacy and safety of antithrombotic treatment with oral anticoagulants (OACs) in elderly patients with comorbidities of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and atrial fibrillation (AF) are unclear. Methods: A cohort of hospitalized elderly patients (≥65 years of age) diagnosed with ACS and AF and treated with oral antithrombotic agents were consecutively recruited. Follow-up was performed for at least 1 year. Major adverse cardiac events (MACEs) were defined as a composite of all-cause death, nonfatal myocardial infarction (MI), nonfatal stroke, and systemic embolism. The safety outcomes of bleeding were defined according to the Bleeding Academic Research Consortium (BARC) criteria. Results: A cohort of 548 eligible patients (76 ± 6.6 years) was analyzed. Compared to the patients with OAC treatment (n = 184, 33.6%), patients treated without OAC (n = 364, 66.4%) were older, had a lower prevalence of persistent AF and unstable angina (UA), and more often presented with paroxysmal AF, acute myocardial infarction (AMI), stent implantation and dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT). Compared to the patients without OAC treatment (n = 364, 66.4%), patients treated with OAC (n = 184, 33.6%) had a lower risk of MACEs at both the 1-year (4.3 vs. 15.1%, adjusted HR: 0.34, 95% CI: 0.15-0.80, p = 0.014) and 5-year (17.5 vs. 48.4%, adjusted HR: 0.36, 95% CI: 0.19-0.67, p = 0.001) follow-up. No significant difference was observed for bleeding events of BARC ≥2 between the groups (8.0 vs. 9.0%, adjusted HR: 1.17, 95% CI: 0.58-2.34, p = 0.667). Compared with warfarin-treated patients, the non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulant-treated patients had lower risks of all-cause mortality (2.1 vs. 9.5%, HR: 0.18, 95% CI: 0.03-0.98, p = 0.047) and bleeding events of BARC ≥ 3 (2.1 vs. 4.8%, HR: 0.14, 95% CI: 0.02-1.10, p = 0.062). Conclusions: Antithrombotic therapy with OACs in elderly patients with ACS and AF was associated with a lower risk of ischemic events without an increase in bleeding events. In real-world practice, the clinical awareness of anticoagulation treatments in elderly patients with ACS and AF needs to be strengthened.

BACKGROUND: Despite strong antiplatelet therapy with ticagrelor, serious ischemic events still occur in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The predictability of platelet reactivity to the residual risk of ischemic events during ticagrelor treatment remains uncertain. OBJECTIVES: We aimed to investigate the predictability of the thromboelastography (TEG)-measured adenosine disphosphate (ADP)-induced platelet inhibition rate (ADP%) to the ischemic events in ticagrelor-treated patients with ACS. METHODS: A cohort of ticagrelor-treated patients with ACS were consecutively recruited. ADP% was measured by TEG after 3 days of ticagrelor maintenance treatment. The primary ischemic event was defined as rehospitalization for unstable angina (UA) within 1 year, and the secondary ischemic event was a composite of the primary ischemic event plus all-cause death, nonfatal myocardial infarction (MI), stent thrombosis, stroke, and unplanned revascularization within 1 year. RESULTS: A total of 751 eligible patients with ACS were included in the analysis, with 336 patients randomly assigned to the derivation group and 415 to the validation group. The overall rates of primary and secondary ischemic events were 14.51% (n = 109) and 16.91% (n = 127), respectively. Compared to the patients without ischemic events, those with ischemic events had a significantly lower ADP% both in the derivation group (for primary ischemic events: 66.05% vs. 92.80%, p < 0.001; for secondary ischemic events: 66.05% vs. 93.20%, p < 0.001) and in the validation group (for primary ischemic events: 66.40% vs. 89.20%, p < 0.001; for secondary ischemic events: 66.90% vs. 89.20%, p < 0.001). Receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis showed that an ADP% < 76% was the optimal cut-off value for predicting 1-year primary ischemic events, with an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.80 (95% CI: 0.72-0.86, p < 0.001) in the derivation group and 0.77 (95% CI: 0.69-0.85, p < 0.001) in the validation group. The multivariate Cox regression hazard analysis consistently identified an ADP% < 76% as an independent predictor of primary ischemic events in the derivation group (HR: 8.21, 95% CI: 4.82-13.99, p < 0.001) and in the validation group (HR: 6.34 95% CI: 3.32-12.11, p < 0.001). There was also a strong association between an ADP% < 76 and the occurrence of secondary ischemic events in the derivation group (HR: 7.33, 95% CI: 4.47-12.00, p < 0.001) and in the validation group (HR: 4.76, 95% CI: 2.73-8.32, p < 0.001). CONCLUSION: The ADP-induced platelet inhibition rate measured by TEG could predict ischemic events in ticagrelor-treated patients with ACS.

The ABCD-GENE score was constructed to identify patients with high platelet reactivity (HPR) after 30 days of clopidogrel treatment. In our study, 1297 eligible patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) were included, and 44 (3.4%) major adverse cardiovascular events (MACEs) occurred during the 12-month clopidogrel treatment. The score with a cutoff of ≥ 10 was independently associated with the risk of 5-day HPR (adjusted HR: 1.73, 95% CI: 1.09-2.74, P = 0.020) and MACEs (adjusted HR: 2.25, 95% CI: 1.19-4.25, P = 0.013). The risk of MACEs increased when the multivariable model with the score (≥ 10) plus 5-day HPR was used (adjusted HR: 4.37, 95% CI: 1.90-10.10, P = 0.001). The c-statistic for MACEs was 0.60 when using the score threshold of ≥ 10 and 0.63 when using the model with the score plus 5-day HPR. As a simple tool, the ABCD-GENE score could identify clopidogrel-treated Chinese patients with ACS who are at increased risk of MACEs. The addition of 5-day HPR could slightly improve the diagnostic ability of the score.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to analyse the role of the HAS-BLED score with the addition of genotype bins for bleeding risk prediction in warfarin-treated patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). METHODS AND RESULTS: Consecutive patients with AF on initial warfarin treatment were recruited. For each patient, CYP2C9 ∗ 3 and VKORC1-1639 A/G genotyping was performed to create 3 genotype functional bins. The predictive values of the HAS-BLED score with or without the addition of genotype bins were compared. According to the carrier status of the genotype bins, the numbers of normal, sensitive, and highly sensitive responders among 526 patients were 64 (12.17%), 422 (80.23%), and 40 (7.60%), respectively. A highly sensitive response was independently associated with clinically relevant bleeding (HR: 3.85, 95% CI: 1.88-7.91, P=0.001) and major bleeding (HR:3.75, 95% CI: 1.17-11.97, P=0.03). With the addition of genotype bins, the performance of the HAS-BLED score for bleeding risk prediction was significantly improved (c-statistic from 0.60 to 0.64 for clinically relevant bleeding and from 0.64 to 0.70 for major bleeding, P < 0.01). Using the integrated discriminatory, net reclassification improvement, and decision curve analysis, the HAS-BLED score plus genotype bins could perform better in predicting any clinically relevant bleeding than the HAS-BLED score alone. CONCLUSIONS: Genotypes have an incremental predictive value when combined with the HAS-BLED score for the prediction of clinically relevant bleeding in warfarin-treated patients with AF.

2D layered organic-inorganic perovskites have attracted substantial attention due to their high stability and promising optoelectronic properties. However, in-depth insights on the anisotropic carrier transport properties of these 2D perovskites are remaining challenging, while they are significant for further designing the high-performance device applications. Here, the carrier transport properties within 2D perovskite single crystals are investigated and a layered-carrier-transport model is developed through the non-invasive and non-destructive surface-enhanced Raman scattering techniques. The carrier transport features of 2D perovskites show clearly the thickness-, applied voltage- and anisotropy-dependent behaviors, which are demonstrated to origin from the quantum confinement effect. The findings elucidate the carrier transport mechanisms within 2D perovskites from their molecular level through Raman spectroscopy, thus providing a promising way for exploring the photo-physical properties in wide-ranged halide perovskites and designing highly efficient perovskite optoelectronic devices.

Neuropathic pain is a complex disease with high incidence. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) and its activated P2X7 receptor are involved in the signal transmission of neuropathic pain. Gallic acid (3,4,5-trihydroxybenzoic acid) is a traditional Chinese medicine obtained from natural plants that exhibit anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antitumor effects. However, the underlying mechanism for gallic acid in analgesia remains unknown. This study aims to reveal how gallic acid alleviates neuropathic pain behaviors in a rat model with chronic constriction injury (CCI). Real-time PCR, western blotting, double-label immunofluorescence, molecular docking, and whole-cell patch clamp technology were used to explore the therapeutic action of gallic acid on neuropathic pain. The results showed that after CCI rats were treated with gallic acid for 1 week, the mechanical withdrawal threshold and thermal withdrawal latency were increased, accompanied by inhibition of the upregulated expression of P2X7 and TNF-α at both mRNA and protein levels, and reduced NF-κB and phosphorylated-STAT3 in the dorsal root ganglia. At the same time, gallic acid significantly decreased the coexpression of P2X7 and glial fibrillary acidic protein in the dorsal root ganglia. In addition, gallic acid could suppress ATP-activated current in human embryonic kidney 293 (HEK293) cells transfected with the plasmid expressing P2X7 but had no effect on ATP activation current of P2X7-mutant plasmid (with the point mutation sequence of the key site where gallic acid binds to the P2X7 receptor). Therefore, our work suggests that gallic acid may alleviate neuropathic pain in CCI rats by inhibiting the P2X7 receptor and subsequent activation of the TNF-α/STAT3 signaling pathway.

Organophosphate pesticides (OPs) are often used as insecticides and acaricides in agriculture, thus improving yields. OP residues may pose a serious threat, duetoinhibitionof the enzymeacetylcholinesterase(AChE). Therefore, a competitive bio-barcode immunoassay was designed for simultaneous quantification of organophosphate pesticide residues using AuNP signal amplification technology and Au@Pt catalysis. The AuNP probes were labelled with antibodies and corresponding bio-barcodes (ssDNAs), MNP probes coated with ovalbumin pesticide haptens and Au@Pt probes functionalized with the complementary ssDNAs were then prepared. Subsequently, pesticides competed with MNP probes to bind the AuNP probes. The recoveries of the developed assay were ranged from 71.26 to 117.47% with RSDs from 2.52 to 14.52%. The LODs were 9.88, 3.91, and 1.47 ng·kg-1, for parathion, triazophos, and chlorpyrifos, respectively. The assay was closely correlated with the data obtained from LC-MS/MS. Therefore, the developed method has the potential to be used as an alternative approach for detection of multiple pesticides.
