OBJECTIVE: To design and fabricate 3D-printed rigid constraint guides for the tooth preparation for laminate veneers and to evaluate the accuracy of guide-assisted preparation. METHODS: Twenty maxillary right central incisor resin artificial teeth were randomly divided into two equal groups and prepared for laminate veneers. Tooth preparations were performed, assisted by guides in the test group and by depth gauge burs in the control group, and both were finished by freehand operation. The typodonts were 3D scanned before preparation, after initial preparation and after final preparation. The tooth preparation depths at each step, including initial preparation depth, final preparation depth and loss of tooth tissue during polishing, were measured by 3D deviation analysis. Statistical analyses were conducted to investigate differences. RESULTS: The initial preparation depth was 0.488 mm (median, quartile 0.013 mm) in the test group and 0.521 mm (median, quartile 0.013 mm) in the control group. A statistically significant difference was found between them (P < 0.05). The final preparation depth in the test group (0.547 ± 0.029 mm) was significantly less than that in the control group (0.599 ± 0.051 mm) (P < 0.05), and closer to the predesigned value (0.5 mm). There was no statistically significant difference in the loss of tooth tissue during polishing between the test group (0.072 ± 0.023 mm) and the control group (0.089 ± 0.038 mm) (P > 0.05). CONCLUSION: In maxillary central incisors, the tooth preparation for laminate veneers could be conducted using 3D-printed rigid constraint guides, the accuracy of which is better than that of depth gauge burs.

Many biological systems display intriguing chiral patterns and dynamics. Here, we present an active nematic theory accounting for individual spin to explore the collective handedness in chiral rod-shaped aggregations. We show that coordinated individual spin and motility can engender a vortex-array pattern with chirality and drive ordering of topological defects. During this chiral process, the stationary trefoil-like defects self-organize into a periodic, hexagon-dominated polygonal network, which segregates persistently rotating cometlike defects in pairs within each polygon, leading to a translation symmetry at the global scale while a broken reflection symmetry at the local scale. Such defect ordering agrees exactly with the Voronoi tiling of two-dimensional space and the emergence of the hexagonal symmetry is deciphered in analogy with topological charge neutralization. We calculate energy barriers to the topological transition of the defect ordering and explain the existing metastable states with nonhexagonal polygons. Our findings shed light on the chiral morphodynamics in life processes and also suggest a potential route towards tuning self-organization in active materials.

Purpose Clear cell renal cell carcinoma(ccRCC) is the most common type of renal cell carcinoma. While it is curable when detected at an early stage, some patients presented with advanced disease have poor prognosis. We aimed to identify key genes and miRNAs associated with clinical prognosis in ccRCC. Methods The microarray datasets were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) were analyzed by using GEO2R. Then, Functional enrichment analysis was performed using the DAVID. A retrospective series of 254 ccRCC patients with complete clinical information was included in this study. Kaplan-Meier analysis and multivariate cox regression analysis were used for prognostic analysis. Wound healing assay and transwell assay were designed to evaluate the migration and invasion ability of ccRCC cell lines. Results miRNA-18a was identified to be related with prognosis of ccRCC by using Kaplan-Meier analysis and multivariate cox regression analysis demonstrated that the prognostic value of miRNA-18a was independent of clinical features. Further studies showed that up-regulation of miRNA-18a had a positive effect on migration and invasion of ccRCC cells. The target gene (HIF1A) of the miRNA-18a was predicted by using the miRPathDB database. The transcription factors of DEGs were identified by using the i-cisTarget. Luckily, HIF1A was found to be one of the transcription factors of DEGs. Among these DEGs, PVT1 may be regulated by HIF1A and be related with prognosis of ccRCC. Finally, validation of miRNA18a/HIF1A/PVT1 pathway was checked via reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) assay in both cell lines and clinical tumor samples. Conclusion Our research revealed that miRNA18a/HIF1A/PVT1 pathway might play a crucial role in ccRCC progression, providing novel insights into understanding of ccRCC molecular mechanisms. Importantly, miRNA-18a could serve as a potential diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic targets for ccRCC patients.

BACKGROUND: Congenital anomalies of the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUTs) are some of the most common birth defects affecting newborns. CAKUTs often have poor birth outcomes owing to the limited experience of physicians in developing countries regarding antenatal and postnatal diagnosis. We aimed to estimate the epidemiology of CAKUTs using data from a hospital-based registry in Zhejiang Province, China. METHODS: We included a total of 2790 newborns with CAKUTs, identified among 1,748,038 births during 2010-2016. The prevalence and type of CAKUTs, maternal and neonatal characteristics, and associated malformations were analyzed. RESULTS: The average prevalence of CAKUTs born to mothers overall and mothers aged ≥35 years were both around 1.60 per 1000 births (95% confidence interval (CI), 1.54-1.66; 95% CI, 1.44-1.83, respectively) during the study period. The prevalence of CAKUTs changed over time among all women and women of advanced maternal age, although no significant trends were observed. CAKUTs were more likely to occur in male than female newborns (odds ratio (OR) 1.28, 95% CI 1.18-1.38), in multiple births than singletons (OR 1.53, 95% CI 1.21-1.92) and in urban areas than rural areas (OR 1.27, 95% CI 1.18-1.37). The overall prenatal detection rate of CAKUTs was 73.87%. The average gestational age at antenatal diagnosis was 26.57 ± 8.70 weeks. A total 22.69% CAKUTs had associated malformations. Congenital heart defects were the most common anomalies, accounting for 8.89% of the whole population. The main proportion in subgroups was hydronephrosis, representing 31.79% of registered CAKUTs. CONCLUSIONS: There was a nearly twofold increase in the prevalence of CAKUTs from 2010 to 2016 in Zhejiang Province. CAKUTs are strongly associated with male sex, multiple births, urban areas, and other nonurinary congenital malformations.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) represents a serious reproductive and endocrine condition and is associated with high incidence rates. H19 is a compelling long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) which carries out a range of biological functions. However, prior to this study, little was known as to whether there was an association between lncRNA H19 and PCOS. In the current study, we used quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) to determine lncRNA H19 expression levels in peripheral blood leukocytes from patients with PCOS and compared this data with that derived from normal controls. We also screened data for potential relationships between lncRNA H19 and a range of endocrine variables in PCOS. The expression of lncRNA H19 was significantly higher in cases of PCOS than in controls. Individuals exhibiting higher expression levels of lncRNA H19 were associated with a significantly higher risk of PCOS than those with lower expression levels. Moreover, lncRNA H19 expression was positively correlated with fasting plasma glucose levels; this was the case with both raw data, and after adjustment for age and BMI in the PCOS group. However, lncRNA H19 expression showed no significant correlation with total testosterone or insulin resistance in either PCOS cases or the controls. In conclusion, we demonstrate the first evidence to indicate that lncRNA H19 is associated with PCOS, suggesting that elevated lncRNA H19 levels are a risk factor for PCOS. For susceptible individuals, lncRNA H19 may represent a useful biomarker of the early stages of endocrine and metabolic disorders in PCOS.

Disposable syringes were used in a novel point-of-care visual test for detecting pathogenic bacteria (Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Salmonella typhimurium). Hybrid nanoflowers composed of platinum nanoparticles and concanavalin A (Pt-nanoflowers) were prepared through a one-pot reaction and were found to be viable catalase mimics. They catalyze the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to generate O2. When used as labels in immunoassays, they integrate both the functions of biological recognition and signal amplification. The disposable syringe pressure readout was combined with Pt-nanoflower signal conversion and successfully applied to a visual bacteria detection scheme. Both Escherichia coli O157:H7 and Salmonella typhimurium can be quantified with detection limits of as low as 15 and 7 CFU·mL-1, respectively. Graphical abstract One-pot synthetic platinum nanoparticle (PtNP)-concanavalin A hybrid nanoflowers (Pt-nanoflowers), have been used as ideal signal labels for immunoassays and integrating both essential functions of biological recognition and signal amplification. Disposable syringes were used as a readout to detect pathogenic bacteria.

Yellow River Estuary and adjacent waters are famous shellfish production areas. Mactra veseriformis, Ruditapes philippinarum, and Meretix meretrix are important species for stocking enhancement. At present, the annual output of shellfish bottom sowing culture has reached 300 thousand tons, with an output value of 1.54 billion RMB. Over stocking of shellfish will cause environmental changes in marine, increase shellfish mortality and endanger ecosystem health. Accordingly, the assessment of the carrying capacity for shellfish based on ecosystem underpins responsible marine fisheries enhancement. In this study, an Ecopath mass-balance model of the Yellow River estuary and adjacent waters ecosystem constructed by Ecopath with Ecosim software was used to analyze the summary statistics parameters of the ecosystem, mixed trophic interactions, and to calculate the ecological carrying capacity of shellfish. The results showed that the ratio of total primary production/total respiration (TPP/TR) was 3.45, that of total primary production/total biomass (TPP/B) was 38.91, with the low Finn cycling index (0.028), high surplus production being 961.24 t·km-2·a-1 and low system connecting index (0.38), indicating that this ecosystem was at an unstable development stage. The increases of shellfish biomass would have positive impacts on Gobiidae, shrimps, crabs, and negative impacts on pelagic fishes, demersal fishes, edible jellyfish, zooplankton. Current biomass of shellfish was 5.5 t·km-2, with the potential enhancement. Based on the Ecopath model, the primary assessment of carrying capacity of shellfish was 18.22 t·km-2 in Yellow River estuary and its adjacent waters. This study provides scientific references for the sustainable development of fisheries resources in the Yellow River estuary.

Rapid, sensitive and point-of-care detection of foodborne pathogenic bacteria is essential for food safety. In this study, we found that hemin-concanavalin A hybrid nanoflowers (HCH nanoflowers), as solid mimic peroxidase, could catalyze oxidation of 2,2'-azino-bis (3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) diammonium salt (ABTS) in the presence of H2O2 to a green-colored product. HCH nanoflowers, integrating the essential functions of both biological recognition and signal amplification, meet the requirements of signal labels for colorimetric immunoassay of bacteria. In view of the excellent peroxidase mimetic catalytic activity of HCH nanoflowers, a colorimetric biosensing platform was newly constructed and applied for sensitive detection of foodborne Escherichia coli O157:H7 (E. coli O157:H7). The corresponding detection limits was as low as 4.1 CFU/mL with wide linear ranges (101-106 CFU/mL).

Physiological responses of ryegrass in cadmium-nonylphenol (Cd-NP) co-contaminated water, as well as the phytoremediation effect were studied under laboratory conditions. The experiment revealed that the biomass and chlorophyll content of ryegrass significantly declined at high concentrations of Cd2+(10 mg·L-1), while POD and PPO activities significantly increased. No significant changes to the biomass, chlorophyll content and MDA of ryegrass were observed in the presence of NP. POD activities significantly increased at high concentrations of NP (5 mg·L-1). The addition of high NP concentrate reduced the inhibition of Cd under co-contaminated stress, the MDA content and PPO activities both reduced. The experiment also revealed that the removal rate of Cd2+ by ryegrass reached 55.3% after 12 h. The absorption efficiency was improved by high NP concentration. Absorption efficiency of Cd2+ by the subterranean part of the plant significantly increased in presence of NP, and the absorption efficiency increased with the increase of NP concentration. The absorption rate of NP was 44.6% after 24 h at NP concentration of 5 mg·L-1. The removal rate was slightly influenced at low concentrations of Cd2+, but significant inhibition of absorption and degradation was observed at high concentrations of Cd2+.

This study investigated the effects of microRNA-135a (miR-135a) targeting of glycogen synthase kinase 3ß (GSK3ß) on the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), migration and invasion of bladder cancer (BC) cells by mediating the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway. BC and adjacent normal tissues were collected from 165 BC patients. Western blotting and quantitative real-time PCR were used to detect the expression of GSK3ß, ß-catenin, cyclinD1, E-cadherin, vimentin and miR-135a in BC tissues and cells. Cells were assigned to blank, negative control (NC), miR-135a mimics, miR-135a inhibitors, small interfering RNA (siRNA)-GSK3ß or miR-135a inhibitors+siRNA-GSK3ß groups. miR-135a, ß-catenin, cyclinD1 and vimentin expression increased, while GSK3ß and E-cadherin expression decreased in BC tissues compared with adjacent normal tissues. Compared with the blank and NC groups, the expression of miR-135a, ß-catenin, cyclinD1 and vimentin was higher, and cell proliferation, migration, invasion and tumor growth were increased in the miR-135a mimics and siRNA-GSK3ß groups. These groups showed an opposite trend in GSK3ß and E-cadherin expression and cell apoptosis. The miR-135a inhibitors group was inversely correlated with the blank and NC groups. It was concluded that miR-135a accelerates the EMT, invasion and migration of BC cells by activating the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway through the downregulation of GSK3ß expression.

Increased expression of cullin 4B (CUL4B) is linked to progression in several cancers. This study aims to explore the effects of CUL4B on bladder cancer (BC) metastasis and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and potential correlation to the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway. We collected BC tissues and adjacent normal tissues from 124 BC patients. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and western blotting were employed in order to detect the expression of Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway-related proteins and EMT markers. MTT and Transwell assays were used in order to measure cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. BC 5637 cells were transfected with control, siRNA scramble control (siRNA-NC), si-CUL4B, and CUL4B or Wnt inhibitory factor 1 (WIF-1) overexpression constructs. Levels of CUL4B mRNA and protein were increased in BC tissues in comparison with the adjacent normal tissues. CUL4B expression was negatively correlated with the expression of E-cadherin and positively correlated to the expression of N-cadherin and Vimentin. Compared to the control group, levels of ß-catenin, cyclinD1, c-myc, MMP7, and EMT markers were reduced, whereas phosphorylated GSK3ßSer9 and E-cadherin levels were increased in the si-CUL4B and WIF-1 groups. In addition, cell proliferation, migration, and invasion abilities were also increased. Increasing CUL4B expression had the opposite effect. These findings suggest that CUL4B induces EMT and promotes metastasis of BC by activating the Wnt/ß-catenin signaling pathway.

Four isostructural lanthanide coordination polymers with a phenylacetate (PAA-) ligand, [Ln(PAA)3(H2O)]n (Ln = Eu (1); Gd (2); Tb (3); Dy (4)), were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. Complexes 1-4 display a one-dimensional (1D) wave chain structure bridged by the carboxylate of the PAA- ligand, which was generated via the in situ decarboxylation of phenylmalonic acid. Magnetic studies suggest the presence of ferromagnetic LnLn coupling in the 1D chain of 1-4. Meanwhile, 2 has a significant cryogenic magnetocaloric effect with the maximum -ΔSm of 26.73 at 3 K and 7 T, and 3 and 4 show interesting spin-glass behavior, which is rarely reported for Ln-containing complexes. Additionally, the solid-state photophysical properties of 1 and 3 display strong characteristic Eu3+ and Tb3+ photoluminescence emission in the visible region, indicating that Eu- and Tb-based luminescence are sensitized by the effective energy transfer from the ligand to the metal centers.

BACKGROUND: Soil alkalinity shows significant constraints to crop productivity; however, much less attention has been paid to analyze the effect of soil alkalinity on plant growth and development. Shanrong No. 4 (SR4) is an alkalinity tolerant bread wheat cultivar selected from an asymmetric somatic hybridization between the bread wheat cultivar Jinan 177 (JN177) and tall wheatgrass (Thinopyrum ponticum), which is a suitable material for studying alkalinity tolerant associate genes. RESULTS: The growth of SR4 plant seedlings was less inhibited than that of JN177 when exposed to alkalinity stress conditions. The root cytosolic Na+/K+ ratio in alkalinity stressed SR4 was lower than in JN177, while alkalinity stressed SR4 contained higher level of nutrient elements than in JN177. SR4 plant seedlings accumulated less malondialdehyde (MDA) and reactive oxygen species (ROS), it also showed higher activity of ROS scavenging enzymes than JN177 under alkalinity stress. The root intracellular pH decreased in both alkalinity stressed JN177 and SR4, however, it was much lower in SR4 than in JN177 under alkalinity stress. The transcriptomes of SR4 and JN177 seedlings exposed to alkalinity stress were analyzed by digital gene expression tag profiling method. Alkalinity stress conditions up- and down-regulated a large number of genes in the seedling roots that play the functions in the categories of transcription regulation, signal transduction and protein modification. CONCLUSIONS: SR4 expresses a superior tolerance to alkaline stress conditions which is due to its strong absorbing ability for nutrient ions, a strong regulating ability for intracellular and rhizosphere pH and a more active ROS scavenging ability.

OBJECTIVE: A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to compare the relative effectiveness of bridging external fixation and non-bridging external fixation for distal radius fractures treatment. METHOD: Relevant literature were comprehensively searched using the PubMed, Springer Link, Karger Medical and Scientific Publishers, Chinese Biomedical Database (CBM) and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) databases without any language restrictions. STATA Version 12.0 software and Comprehensive Meta-analysis 2.0 were applied. RESULTS: A total of 905 patients with distal radius fracture from six eligible cohort studies were selected for statistical analysis. Our meta-analysis results indicate that the non-bridging cases had a higher risk of pin track infection, rupture of the extensor pollicis longus and nerve injury than the bridging cases. Subgroup analysis stratified by country indicated non-bridging patients showed evidence of an increased risk of pin track infection and higher risk of rupture of the extensor pollicis longus compared with the patients treated with bridging external fixation in the UK population. The follow-up results showed flexion degree of patients treated with non-bridging external fixation was slightly better than that of patients treated with bridging external fixation (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: There is evidence in our systematic review and meta-analysis to support that bridging external fixation can reduce the incidence of pin tract infections and nerve injury compared to non-bridging external fixation, but have no significant difference in other complications and the recovery of wrist joint function. Bridging external fixation could therefore be a better choice in patients with distal radius fractures.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is emerging as one of the most common diseases seriously threatening the health of elderly men. Accumulating evidences indicate that hypoxia could induce BPH. However, the underlying mechanism of BPH induced by hypoxia is not clear. In the study, hypoxia-induced autophagy could promote cell survival and endoplasmic reticula stress (ER stress) in WPMY-1 cells. Cell viability induced by hypoxia could been decreased by autophagy inhibitors (3-methyladenine, bafilomycin A1) or siRNA interference in two autophagy genes (Beclin1, ATG5) in WPMY-1 cells. Furthermore, ER stress was present in hypoxia-treated WPMY-1 cells, while autophagy and cell survival could been inhibited by C/EBP-homologous protein siRNA (CHOP), which is an important protein of ER stress pathway. Taken together, our data support a novel model that autophagy as a cytoprotective response promotes cell survival via ER stress under hypoxia in human prostate stromal cells.

The acidity of Ultisols (pH <5) is detrimental to crop production. Technologies should be explored to promote base saturation and liming effect for amelioration of Ultisol pH. Column leaching experiments were conducted to investigate the amelioration effects of canola straw (CS) and peanut straw (PS) in single treatment and in combination whether with alkaline slag (AS) or with lime on Ultisol profile acidity. The treatment without liming materials was set as control, and the AS and lime in single treatment are set for comparison. Results indicated that all the liming materials increase soil profile pH and soil exchangeable base cations at the 0-40-cm depth, except that the lime had amelioration effect just on 0 to 15-cm profile. The amelioration effect of the liming materials on surface soil acidity was mainly dependent on the ash alkalinity in organic materials or acid neutralization capacity of inorganic materials. Specific adsorption of sulfate (SO4(2-)) or organic anions, decarboxylation of organic acids/anions, and the association of H(+) with organic anions induced a "liming effect" of crop residues and AS on subsoil acidity. Moreover, SO4(2-) and chloride (Cl(-)) in PS, CS, and AS primarily induced base cations to move downward to subsoil and exchange with exchangeable aluminum (Al(3+)) and protons (H(+)). These anions also promoted the exchangeable Al to leach out of the soil profile. The CS was more effective than PS in decreasing soil acidity in the subsoil, which mainly resulted from higher sulfur (S) and Cl content in CS compared to PS. The CS combined with AS was the better amendment choice in practical agricultural systems.

Stock enhancement is increasingly proved to be an important measure of the fishery resources conservation, and the assessment of carrying capacity is the decisive factor of the effects of stock enhancement. Meanwhile, the variations in the energy flow patterns of releasing species and ecosystem were the basis for assessing carrying capacity of stock enhancement. So, in the present study, based on the survey data collected from the Yellow River estuary and adjacent waters during 2012-2013, three Ecopath mass-balance models were established in June, August and October, and the variations in ecosystem energy flow in these months were analyzed, as well as the assessment of carrying capacity of swimming crab enhancement. The energy flow mainly concentrated on trophic level I-III in Yellow River estuary and adjacent waters, and was relatively less on trophic level IV or above. The system flow proportion on the trophic level I was the highest in June, and was the lowest in August. The highest system flow proportion on the trophic level II was found in August, and the lowest in June. The relative and absolute energy flow of swimming crab mainly concentrated on the trophic level III, and the mean trophic level of swimming crab among June, August and October were 3.28. Surplus production was relatively higher in Yellow River estuary and adjacent waters, the highest value was found in June, and the lowest value in August. The ratios of total primary production/total respiration (TPP/TR) were 5.49, 2.47 and 3.01 in June, August and October, respectively, and the ratios of total primary production/total biomass (TPP/B) were 47.61, 33.30 and 29.78, respectively. Combined with the low Finn' s cycling index (FCI: 0.03-0.06), these changes indicated that the Yellow River estuary ecosystem was at an early development stage with higher vulnerability. The energy conversion efficiency of system was from 7.3% to 11.5%, the mean trophic levels of the catch were 3.23, 2.97 and 2.82 in June, August and October, respectively. The highest gross efficiency of the fishery was found in August, and the lowest in June. Finally, based on the Ecopath model in August survey, the preliminarily assessed carrying capacity of swimming crab was 1.5115 t · km(-2) in Yellow River estuary and adjacent waters.

The streaming potential has been wildly used in charged parallel plates, capillaries, and porous media. However, there have been few studies involving the ζ potential of clay soils based on streaming potential measurements. A laboratory apparatus was developed in this study to measure the streaming potential (ΔE) of bulk clay soils' coupling coefficient (C) and cell resistance (R) of saturated granular soil samples. Excellent linearity of ΔE versus liquid pressure (ΔP) ensured the validity of measurements. The obtained parameters of C and R can be used to calculate the ζ potential of bulk soils. The results indicated that the ζ potentials measured by streaming potential method were significantly correlated with the ζ potentials of soil colloids determined by electrophoresis (r (2) = 0.960**). Therefore, the streaming potential method can be used to study the ζ potentials of bulk clay soils. The absolute values of the ζ potentials of four soils followed the order: Ultisol from Jiangxi > Ultisol from Anhui > Oxisol from Guangdong > Oxisol from Hainan, and this was consistent with the cation exchange capacities of these soils. The type and concentration of electrolytes affected soil ζ potentials. The ζ potential became less negative with increased electrolyte concentration. The ζ potentials were more negative in monovalent than in divalent cationic electrolyte solutions because more divalent cations were distributed in the shear plane of the diffuse layer as counter-cations on the soil surfaces than monovalent cations at the same electrolyte concentration.

Stock enhancement is an important way of fishery resources conservation, which can increase the high quality fishery resources and improve the fish population structure. The study of ecological carrying capacity is the premise for the scientific implementation of stock enhancement. Based on the survey data of the fishery resources and ecological environment in Laizhou Bay from 2009 to 2010, an Ecopath mass-balance model of the Laizhou Bay ecosystem consisted of 26 functional groups was constructed, and applied to analyze the overall characteristics of the ecosystem, the trophic interrelationships, and the keystone species, and to calculate the ecological carrying capacity of Chinese shrimp enhancement. As for the overall characteristics of the ecosystem, the total primary production/total respiration (TPP/TR) was 1. 53, total primary production/total biomass (TPP/B) was 24.54, Finn' s cycling index was lower (0.07), surplus production was higher (434. 41 t km-2 a-1 ), and system connectance index was lower (0. 29), indicating that this ecosystem was at an early development stage. The analysis on the keystone species showed that Chinese shrimp was not a keystone species of this ecosystem. At present, the biomass of Chinese shrimp in the ecosystem was 0. 1143 t km-2, with a greater potential of continued enhancement. It did not exceed the ecological carrying capacity of 2. 9489 t km-2 when the biomass of the Chinese shrimp was increased by 25. 8 times.

The preparation, structures and properties of 3d-4f compounds, undecanuclear [La2Ni9(Gly)12(IDA)3(µ3-OH)3][La(H2O)9][Na3(H2O)7(ClO4)3](ClO4)6·5H2O (1) and isostructural heptadecanuclear [Ln5Ni12(Gly)12(IDA)6(µ3-OH)9(H2O)3](ClO4)6·11H2O (Ln = Gd (2); Nd (3); Sm (4); Tb (5); Dy (6); Y (7)) based on mixed glycine (HGly) and iminodiacetate acid (H2IDA) ligands were described. The structure of the [La2Ni9(µ3-OH)3(IDA)3(Gly)12](3+) cationic cluster in 1 can be described as a face-shared and La-centered dioctahedron. However, the [Ln5Ni12(Gly)12(IDA)6(µ3-OH)9(H2O)3](6+) cationic clusters in 2-7 bear an onion-like {Ln5}⊂{Ni12} structure, where the trigonal bipyramid {Ln5} core is encapsulated by the outer triangular orthobicupola {Ni12} shell. Magnetic studies have been performed for these compounds, and 2 displays dominant ferromagnetic coupling and has a large magnetocaloric effect (21.8 J kg(-1) K(-1), ΔH = 7 T).
