Breast Cancer (BC) is the most common cause of cancer-associated deaths in females worldwide. Despite advancements in BC treatment driven by extensive characterization of its molecular hallmarks, challenges such as drug resistance, tumor relapse, and metastasis persist. Therefore, there is an urgent need for alternative treatment approaches with multi-modal efficacy to overcome these hurdles. In this context, natural bioactives are increasingly recognized for their pivotal role as anti-cancer compounds. This study focuses on predicting molecular targets for key herbal phytoconstituents-gallic acid, piperine, quercetin, resveratrol, and beta-sitosterol-present in the polyherbal formulation, Krishnadi Churna. Using an in-silico network pharmacology model, key genes were identified and docked against these marker compounds and controls. Mammary carcinoma emerged as the most significant phenotype of the putative targets. Analysis of an online database revealed that out of 135 predicted targets, 134 were mutated in breast cancer patients. Notably, ESR1, CYP19A1, and EGFR were identified as key genes which are known to regulate the BC progression. Docking studies demonstrated that the herbal phytoconstituents had similar or better docking scores than positive controls for these key genes, with convincing protein-ligand interactions confirmed by molecular dynamics simulations, MM/GBSA and free energy landscape (FEL) analysis. Overall, this study highlights the predictive potential of herbal phytoconstituents in targeting BC genes, suggesting their promise as a basis for developing new therapeutic formulations for BC.

Several rural Moroccan people depend on natural remedies such as Smen (ghee) before visiting a health center due to their low cost and accessibility. However, knowledge of Smen traditional medicine is not documented but rather transferred orally from generation to generation. This is the first qualitative ethnomedicinal study that provides and documents information about the medicinal use of Smen in Northern Morocco. The present study aimed to investigate and gather information on the traditional medicinal practices of using Smen among rural people in Northern Morocco for a document and suggest the exploration of this product and its bioactive compounds in medical applications. The investigation was carried out by conducting individual semistructured interviews with 630 elderly people from March to April 2022. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and expressed as a percentage of responses to each question in the survey. The study revealed that 66.5% of the people surveyed were aware of the medical benefits of Smen, which had been passed down from their ancestors. It has been used to treat hemorrhoids, common colds, detoxification, rheumatism, and wound/burn injuries. This study showed that Moroccan's ethnomedicinal knowledge is closely related to Ayurveda, ancient Indian traditional medicine. For centuries, Smen has been used traditionally for medical purposes, just as it has been used in cooking. The diversity of ghee medicinal use in Northern Morocco could contribute to the discovery and development of ghee-based drugs, which have fewer side effects.

Ayurveda has a long-standing tradition of healthcare in Southeast Asia. Swarnaprash, a classical Ayurveda preparation, is commonly given as the pre-lacteal feed to neonates to prevent labor-related complications and infections. It comprises incinerated gold particles (InAuP/Swarna Bhasma), honey (Madhu), and clarified butter oil (CBO/Cow Ghrita). This in vitro study aimed to evaluate the therapeutic potential of the individual ingredients and combinations of Swarnaprash against selected neonatal gut pathobionts and symbionts. The study employed sophisticated instruments, including SEM with EDAX and X-ray diffraction analysis, to investigate the shape and structural disparities in the ingredients of Swarnaprash. The reported size of gold particles in Swarnaprash ranges from 0.6 to 9.5 µm. These particles are relatively smaller than those in Swarna Bhasma but larger than synthetic gold particles. Swarnaprash demonstrated both bactericidal and bacteriostatic activity against selected neonatal gut pathobionts, with the largest inhibition zones observed for P. aeruginosa and S. Typhi. It surpassed the individual efficacy of its components-Prash, InAuPs, honey, or CBO alone. Notably, Swarnaprash did not affect the selected beneficial gut bacteria. The results warrant further in vivo and clinical studies to explore the effects of Swarnaprash on neonatal gut flora, which would provide vital information for research in neonatal healthcare.

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Vaisvanara Churna used traditionally for the treatment of Amavata (Rheumatoid arthritis), Shotaprasamana (Anti-inflammatory) and as Saraka (Laxative). AIM: Aim of the study is to evaluate anti arthritic activity and in vitro anti-inflammatory potential of Vaisvanara Churna in experimental animals. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In-vitro anti-inflammatory activity of aqueous extract of Vaisvanara Churna (100-500 µg/ml) was evaluated by using membrane stabilization methods. Anti arthritic activity was evaluated by using 0.1 ml of Complete Freund's Adjuvant (CFA) injected into sub plantar surface of left hind paw of each wistar rat on day 1 followed by treatment with Vaisvanara Churna at various dose levels (450, 900, and 1800 mg/kg b.w) and standard drug Prednisolone (5 mg/kg) for 21 days. The following parameters namely change in the body weight of animals, paw volume, ankle joint thickness were measured at 0, 3, 8, 17 & 21 day intervals and radiographic changes were assessed. In addition to this, response to painful stimuli by application of forced pressure was measured by using Pressure Application Measurement (PAM) method. RESULTS: In-vitro anti-inflammatory activity Vaisvanara Churna exhibited dose dependent membrane stabilizing activity. Treatment with Vaisvanara Churna showed significant (p < 0.05) inhibition of paw edema, reduction in ankle joint thickness and increase in the body weight of wistar albino rats was observed. There is a significant increase (p < 0.001) in the latency of limb withdrawal response, reduction in the organ indices (spleen and thymus) were noted. CONCLUSION: This study demonstrates that Vaisvanara Churna possesses in vitro anti inflammatory and anti-arthritic potential and supports its folklore use in the treatment of arthritis.

Scleroderma, an autoimmune connective tissue disorder, leads to skin and tissue thickening. In this autoimmune disease condition, the defense mechanism works against the body itself and mistakenly attacks normal cells. Ayurveda links it to vatarakta, initially affecting tvak, rakta, and mamsa. Vata is primarily involved, but as the disease progresses, all doshas and dhatu get involved. A 45-year-old woman presented with skin hardening, skin depigmentation all over her body, limb stiffness, weakness, arthralgia, anorexia, constipation and burning in the chest region for the last three years. She was diagnosed with diffuse systemic sclerosis (SSc) but as per Ayurveda we can correlate with aamvata and vatarakta based on her lakshanas(symptoms). Ayurvedic treatment commenced with vardhamana pippali(Piper longum)rasayan, svedana karma, and virechan karma, followed by basti(enema) chikitsa (pathyadi kvath niruh basti) and oral ayurvedic medication viz., Manjisthadi kvatha, kaishora guggulu, Jatamansi(Nardostachys Jatamansi) churna, mishreya(Foeniculum vulgare) arka, dashang churna with water for local application and daily shamanarth panchtikta ghrit. After 8 weeks, depigmentation was reduced, new hair growth emerged, mild skin softening occured, chest burning, anorexia, sleeplessness was decreased and enhanced mental well-being. The treatment aimed to balance vitiated doshas and dhatu while alleviating symptoms, and enhancing overall well-being, demonstrating the efficacy of the holistic approach in managing scleroderma through Ayurveda. Auto-immune disorder, scleroderma, chronic complications, skin tightness, salt pepper depigmentation, sclerodactyly.

Cardamom (cardamum) is a spice produced from the seeds of several Elettaria and Amomum plants of the Zingiberaceae family. Cardamom has been demonstrated to offer numerous benefits, including its antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and other metabolic (anti-diabetic) properties, and its potential to reduce cancer risk. Recently, researchers have extracted and tested multiple phytochemicals from cardamom to assess their potential effectiveness against various types of human malignancy. These studies have indicated that cardamom can help overcome drug resistance to standard chemotherapy and protect against chemotherapy-induced toxicity due to its scavenging properties. Furthermore, chemical compounds in cardamom, including limonene, cymene, pinene, linalool, borneol, cardamonin, indole-3-carbinol, and diindolylmethane, primarily target the programmed cell death lignin-1 gene, which is more prevalent in cancer cells than in healthy cells. This review provides the medicinal properties and pharmacological uses of cardamom, its cellular effects, and potential therapeutic uses in cancer prevention and treatment, as well as its use in reducing drug resistance and improving the overall health of cancer patients. Based on previous preclinical studies, cardamom shows significant potential as an anti-cancer agent, but further exploration for clinical use is warranted due to its diverse mechanisms of action.

BACKGROUND: The thyroid gland is an endocrine gland that has an impact on the body's general metabolism. Thus, the secretions of the thyroid gland can modify the overall metabolism of the entire body. The prevalence of hypothyroidism is increasing quickly, with rates of 2%-5% in affluent countries and 11% in India. Individuals diagnosed with hypothyroidism need to take medication for the rest of their lives, resulting in significant stress. Therefore, conducting a study in this area is imperative. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the therapeutic enema (Kshar Basti) and oral Kanchanar Guggul in the treatment of hypothyroidism. METHODS: The trial group (n=45) will receive a therapeutic enema (Kshar Basti) followed by oral Ayurvedic drugs for 180 days. The control group (n=45) will be given levothyroxine tablets at a dosage of 1.6 µg/kg/day for the same duration. The objective is to examine the alterations in thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels before and after the treatment. RESULTS: Any deviation of the serum TSH by more than 20% from the initial values, while keeping triiodothyronine (T3), and thyroxine (T4) levels within the normal range, will be deemed statistically significant. Consequently, we anticipate a statistically significant variation in serum TSH levels between the therapeutic enema and Kanchanar Guggul treatments. Presently, the drug preparation operations are in progress. We expect to start enrolling patients in June 2024, do data analysis in December 2025, and acquire results by early 2026, marking the end of this trial. CONCLUSIONS: This study will evaluate the efficacy of the therapeutic enema, specifically Kshar Basti, in treating hypothyroidism. Furthermore, more research can determine the efficacy of a therapeutic enema (Kshar Basti) in treating overt hypothyroidism and hypothyroidism during pregnancy. Centella asiatica Linn Urban (C. asiatica), aka Mandukparni, is one of the flagship herbs used in traditional medicines to effectively manage neurological problems. Although this plant has a wealth of comprehensive preclinical pharmacological profiles, further clinical research and execution of its molecular mode of action are still required. We searched electronic databases (Google Scholar, SciFinder, MEDLINE, Scopus, EMBASE, Science Direct, and PubMed) using relevant key words to retrieve information pertaining to C. asiatica till June 2023 and performed network pharmacology to understand the mechanism related to their neurobiological roles. This study extensively analyses its pharmacological properties, nutritional profile, ethnomedical uses, safety, and mechanistic role in treating neurological and neurodegenerative disorders. Additionally, a network pharmacology study was performed which suggests that its phytomolecules are involved in different neuroactive ligand-receptor pathways, glial cell differentiation, gliogenesis, and astrocyte differentiation. Hopefully, this report will lead to a paradigm shift in medical practice, research, and the creation of phytopharmaceuticals derived from C. asiatica that target the central nervous system.

Although empirical data on the influence of Ayurveda on Chemo/Radiotherapy-induced side effects are limited, its methodological framework, grounded in a 'systems thinking' perspective, enables the precise delineation of the pathogenic stage of these side effects. This, in turn, facilitates the development of a strategy to address the decline in the quality of life parameters commonly associated with cancer treatment. Ayurveda personalized approach to disease management typically involves providing customized diets, lifestyle adjustments, medications, and detoxification therapies that target the entire body. We present a case involving a patient with numbness and pain in the right hand after undergoing chemotherapy who was referred to us by an oncologist for symptom management. This case report demonstrates the Ayurveda approach for establishing the etiology, pathogenesis, pathophysiology, and treatment of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy (CIPN) resulting from taxane-based chemotherapy. Following Ayurveda intervention, the patient exhibited significant improvements in symptoms and quality of life parameters. This case report systematically illustrates the application of Ayurveda approach in CIPN management.

A 42-year-old male patient presented with complaints of vertigo, neck pain, swallowing difficulties, and difficulty in maintaining an upright posture. The patient took allopathic consultation for the complaints and was advised to undergo MDCT scan of brain, hematological and audiological evaluations. No abnormalities were detected in the investigations and he was given some medications for symptomatic management. As no relief was noted, the patient took an Ayurveda consultation. After clinical evaluation, the patient was advised to perform an X-ray of the cervical spine and was diagnosed with congenital block vertebrae at C3 - C4 vertebral bodies and posterior appendages with hypoplastic intervening disc space. He was advised to take Ekangveerarasa 250 mg BD before food with honey, Trayodashang guggulu 1 gm BD after food, Vishatinduka vati 250 mg BD after food, Aswagandha churna 3 gm BD after food with milk.The patient was also advised to do light massage and mild hot fomentation in the neck region twice a day with Mahavishagarbha oil. Remarkable relief was observed with all signs and symptoms including a reduction of score in the Neck Disability Index (NDI) within a very short duration of treatment. Considerable improvements were noted in the quality of life of the patient as confirmed by the WHO QOL BREF score. This case report shows that Ayurveda can offer safer and more effective symptomatic treatment for conditions like congenitally fused vertebrae.

BACKGROUND: Presbycusis is characterized by sensorineural hearing loss in both ears at high frequencies, which affects more than half of the older adults by the age of 75 years and is often accompanied by tinnitus and cognitive deterioration. Unfortunately, there are no treatments available to restore hearing loss. Treatment mainly focuses on improving the quality of life and communication with hearing aids. Traditional medicine like Ayurveda also explains ailments of a similar nature as Badhirya and advises using drugs with antiaging and neuroprotective activity for treatment. In Ayurveda, Badhirya and Karnanada (senile deafness with tinnitus) are due to vitiation of Vata Dosha. Treatments such as topical oil pooling (Karnapurana) are usually advised to counter Vata, improve hearing capacity, and reduce tinnitus. Kshirabala Taila, a medicated oil formulation prepared with Sida cordifolia Linnaeus, is one of the most preferred oils for topical oil pooling in such conditions, as it has a definitive indication for sensory dysfunctions. Drugs like Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal (Ashwagandha) are also used, as they ameliorate neurodegeneration and help to improve cognitive dysfunction. OBJECTIVE: We propose an exploratory randomized controlled trial study for evaluating the efficacy of TOPMAC (Topical Oil Pooling with Kshirabala Taila and Supplementation of Ashwagandha Churna) in tinnitus suppression and hearing and cognitive function protection in patients aged 60-75 years with mild to moderate presbycusis. METHODS: A parallel, 2-group, exploratory randomized controlled trial will be conducted in an Indian Ayurvedic research center at its outpatient service. Participants (N=60) with mild to moderate presbycusis will be recruited by screening. Participants will be randomized (computer-generated 1:1) to receive either basic treatment and health education (BTHE) or BTHE+TOPMAC for 24 weeks. The primary objective is to compare the efficacy of TOPMAC with that of BTHE in the protection of hearing function. The secondary objective is to compare the efficacy of TOPMAC with that of BTHE in tinnitus suppression and cognitive function protection. RESULTS: This project was funded in January 2023. The institutional ethics committees at National Ayurveda Research Institute for Panchakarma (3/1/2020/NARIP/Tech/2036) and Institute for Communicative and Cognitive Neuro Sciences (IEC006) approved this study. The first patient was enrolled in September 2023; 22 participants were enrolled as of August 2024. The data analysis is yet to start, and the results are expected to be published by January 2025. CONCLUSIONS: If this exploratory trial is proven effective, it will steer the setting of a definitive randomized controlled trial to test whether the TOPMAC intervention can be incorporated as a cost-effective integrative approach for managing presbycusis. The Indian government has already launched a National Program for Prevention and Control of Deafness to benefit the deaf population. Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) has been used for female health problems since ancient times and is useful for treating various female reproductive problems including menopausal problems, hormonal imbalance, lactation, menstrual issues, and others. Shatavarins, the primary phytoconstituents of Shatavari, have high molecular weights and may interact with hormone receptors. We have conducted a molecular docking analysis for different Shatavarins such as Shatavarin I, Shatavarin IV, Shatavarin VI, Shatavarin VII, Shatavarin VIII, Shatavarin IX, and Shatavarin X with different hormonal receptors such as estrogen alpha, beta, and gamma receptor, progesterone receptor, FSH, and LH receptors. The best docking conformations with the highest docking scores, specific interactions and bond formations, and the most important residues of the receptors were identified and reported. The study was successful in providing an initial comparative insight into the binding efficiencies of the Shatavarins for different female hormonal receptors.

BACKGROUND: Metabolic syndrome (MetS) with obesity has significant mortality and morbidity. Integrative Ayurveda management is explored for it's possible effect. AIM: To evaluate the effect of Tryushnadi churna in the management of Metabolic syndrome with obesity. METHODS: Study is a Randomized, Controlled, double blind, parallel group comparative clinical trial. 48 participants meeting the National Cholesterol Education Programme Adult Treatment panel 3 diagnostic criteria were recruited in the study. They were divided in two 2 groups. Placebo group were administered with Placebo 1 gm twice a day, Ayurveda diet and yoga. Tryushnadi Group were intervened with Tryushnadi churna 1 gm twice a day, Ayurveda diet and yoga. Interventions were for 90 days. Assessments criteria included Weight, BMI,Waist circumference (WC), Waist hip ratio, Skin fold thickness (SFT), Body fat, blood pressure, WHO-QOL BREF scale, Clinical Global Impression Scale (CGI)- Severity, Global improvement and Efficacy index, Fasting blood sugar (FBS) were assessed on every 30th day. Other blood parameters like Glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c), Triglycerides, High density lipoproteins (HDL), Low density lipoproteins (LDL), Total cholesterol (TC) were evaluated at pre and post study. RESULTS: Between groups comparison showed, Tryushnadi group had significant improvements in BMI, Weight, WHOQOL-Bref and had large effect size. Both the groups showed improvement in WC, body fat, SFT, CGI severity, CGI efficacy index and improvement in quality of life in within group assessment. CONCLUSION: Study showed that Tryushnadi churna was effective in management of MetS with Obesity. Integrated management of Ayurveda medicine, Ayurveda diet and yoga had beneficial effect.

Ayurveda is the traditional medicine system of India, and has been in practice for millennia. It is a traditional approach that uses 1000's of different plant preparations in various combinations for treatment of human ailments, including cancer. Ethnopharmacological and phytochemical analyses are now elucidating the bioactive constituents of the different plant species and herbal formulations, including ashwagandha, curcumin, guduchi, triphala, and others. To provide an overview of: 1) the ethnopharmacology of Ayurveda and several of its most important plant species and formulations, including pharmacological and molecular mechanisms of its anti-cancer effects; 2) review the literature applying Ayurvedic herbs and formulations to brain tumors. A detailed PubMed search was performed that included publications involving Ayurveda, cancer, ethnopharmacology, phytochemical analysis, molecular analysis, and brain tumors. In recent decades, significant research has begun to elucidate the bioactive compounds of ashwagandha, tumeric, guduchi, and triphala, such as withaferin A, withanolides, curcumin, palmatine, and many others. These compounds and extracts are now being applied to brain tumor cells in vitro and in animal models, with positive signs of anti-cancer activity including reduced cell growth, increased apoptosis, cell cycle arrest, increased differentiation, and inhibition of important internal signal transduction pathways. Several Ayurvedic herbs (ashwagandha, curcumin) have bioactive compounds with significant anti-cancer activity, and are effective in early pre-clinical testing against brain tumor cells in vitro and in animal models. Further pre-clinical testing is warranted, along with advancement into phase I and phase II clinical trials of patients with glioblastoma and other brain tumors.

IUGR is defined as a rate of fetal growth that is less than normal for the expected growth potential of a specific infant. Fetuses with isolated single umbilical artery are at higher risk of prematurity, IUGR(Intra uterine growth restriction), and intrauterine death. Ayurveda provides a holistic approach towards garbhini paricharya (antenatal care). Nabhinadi (umbilical cord) nourishes the fetus, and abnormalities result in garbhashosha. This is a case report of IUGR associated with a single umbilical artery with no other abnormalities. The obstetric scan revealed decreased abdominal circumference and falling growth parameters. Ayurvedic medicines with brimhana, balya, prajasthapana actions were given. The outcome was a full-term baby of birth weight 2.5kg through vaginal delivery.

Downer cow syndrome, or secondary recumbency, is a condition primarily affecting dairy cows, where the animal is unable to rise and stand, due to unknown cause. It is usually associated with poor prognosis. Terminal downers are euthanized in most countries. A four-year old Kasarkode dwarf-cow, post-calving was brought up laterally recumbent with heavy nasal discharge, labored breathing, loss of appetite and signs of dehydration on 6th day of its recumbency. Before this, the patient was diagnosed with milk fever and standard treatment with calcium borogluconate was administered intravenously. The animal was left to succumb under unprotected conditions, due to various constraints on euthanasia. After adopting the cow, Nasya was started immediately to avoid death due to sepsis and shock. The animal was drenched with Ayurvedic fluids containing deepana-pacana herbs. Sternal recumbency, warm and moistened muzzle was observed on the fourth day of commencing ayurvedic treatment. Respiratory distress was minimal. Drastic prognostic shift from "no hope" to "good" was possible within 6 days thanks to Nasya, and the animal was stable. Thereafter, integrative care comprising of antibiotics, rehydrating IV fluids, and supplementations, along with ayurvedic medicines was initiated. Ruminal-fluid obtained from slaughterhouse was used for ruminal-flora replacement. Rumination on 14th day, cow on its feet by 19th day and complete healing of decubital ulcers by approximately 40 days was recorded. A downed cow which did not respond to standard veterinary care was managed with Ayurveda-integrated veterinary care. Ayurveda herbs like bamboo leaves (Bambusa vulgaris), green chiretta (Andrographis paniculata) that cattle prefer eating during certain illness, turn out to be useful for Ayurvedic management. Hence, Ayurveda veterinary medicine might be, a good choice for integrative management of terminal downers, preventing early death in downed dairy cows.

BACKGROUND: Chronic low back pain (CLBP) signficantly affects quality of life and productivity, leading to limitations in mobility, activity, and potential work absenteesim. Yoga and Ayurveda have shown promising evidence in reducing pain, improve function, and enhancing well-being for individuals with CLBP, as demonstrated by numerous studies. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study is to assess the effect of a 1-week residential integrative approach to yoga therapy. (IAYT) alone versus when combined with Ayurveda therapy (Kati Basti) in patients with CLBP. METHODS: Forty patients were recruited from E-section of a holistic health center in South India for randomization and split into a Yoga and Ayurveda (n=20) and a Yoga-only (n=20) group. Yoga and Ayurveda group received a 1-week residential program combining Yoga and Ayurveda (therapy including Kati Basti with Ksheerbala Taila), while the Yoga-only group received only yoga therapy. Assessments at baseline, 1-week, and three months were measure pain intensity, disability, and depression. RESULTS: Both Yoga and Ayurveda group, and Yoga-only group showed significant reductions in pain and improvements in disability and depression at 1-week and three months. Quality of life also improved, specifically in physical, social, environmental, and psychological health. No significant differences were found between the groups in terms of pain, disability, and depression. CONCLUSION: Both interventions demonstrated comparable results in pain reduction and disability improvement, as well as alleviating depression symptoms. Only Yoga and Ayurveda group exhibited improvement in physical health. Further research should explore long-term effects and compare different yoga interventions.

BACKGROUND: Asthma is a heterogeneous, inflammatory disease with several phenotypes and endotypes. Severe asthmatics often exhibit mixed granulocytosis with reduced corticosteroid sensitivity. Bronchom is a newly developed Ayurvedic prescription medicine, indicated for the treatment of obstructive airway disorders. The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the in-vivo efficacy of Bronchom in mouse model of mixed granulocytic asthma with steroidal recalcitrance. METHODS: High-performance thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) and Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) were employed to identify and quantitate the phytometabolites present in Bronchom. The preclinical effectiveness of Bronchom was assessed in house dust mite (HDM) and Complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA)-induced mixed granulocytic asthma model in mice. High dose of dexamethasone was tested parallelly. Specific-pathogen-free C57BL/6 mice were immunized with HDM and CFA and nineteen days later, they were intranasally challenged with HDM for four consecutive days. Then the mice were challenged with nebulized methacholine to evaluate airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR). Inflammatory cell influx was enumerated in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) followed by lung histology. Additionally, the concentrations of Th2 and pro-inflammatory cytokines was assessed in the BALF by multiplexed immune assay. The mRNA expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines and Mucin 5AC (MUC5AC) was also evaluated in the lung. RESULTS: HPTLC fingerprinting and UHPLC quantification of Bronchom revealed the presence of bioactive phytometabolites, namely, rosmarinic acid, gallic acid, methyl gallate, piperine, eugenol and glycyrrhizin. Bronchom effectively reduced AHR driven by HDM-CFA and the influx of total leukocytes, eosinophils and neutrophils in the BALF. In addition, Bronchom inhibited the infiltration of inflammatory cells in the lung as well as goblet cell metaplasia. Further, it also suppressed the elevated levels of Th2 cytokines and pro-inflammatory cytokines in the BALF. Similarly, Bronchom also regulated the mRNA expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines as well as MUC5AC in mice lungs. Reduced effectiveness of a high dose of the steroid, dexamethasone was observed in the model. CONCLUSIONS: We have demonstrated for the first time the robust pharmacological effects of an herbo-mineral medicine in an animal model of mixed granulocytic asthma induced by HDM and CFA. The outcomes suggest the potential utility of Bronchom in severe asthmatics with a mixed granulocytic phenotype.

Additionally, international collaborations can enhance research and credible information, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
