This article seeks to represent the relationships between the most relevant terms of the researches about the new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) indexed in the Web of Science from 2019 December to 2020 May. Characterized as an exploratory and descriptive research, the investigation method and technical procedures are based on the Concept Theory, by Ingetraut Dahlberg, for the conceptual analysis, and on the Social Network Analysis approach as well as on complex networks, for the structural analysis of the semantic network created from article titles. The results showed a network with a topological structure characterized as a small world, with some similar connections. The term 'covid-19' presents high transitivity in strongly connected groups, which comprise terms from different domains of knowledge and, sometimes, little related in the disciplinary context of the science. The conceptual relationship between the terms is functional. It was concluded that the interconnection between terms from different domains of knowledge generates groups of emerging terms, enhancing the urgency of interdisciplinary researches to understand the term that in this work is in focus 'covid-19'.

The purpose of the study was to develop a methodology to evaluate the impact of training in a technical and scientific information organization, integrating the main trends about the training process. The expert method was used to determine the causes - effects affecting training, whereas Saaty's method or analytic hierarchy process was used to hierarchically arrange the causes influencing this process and optimize decision making. The methodology developed integrates the main trends found in the study of training impact evaluation, starting from three stages (evaluation preparation, evaluation implementation and analysis of results) as well as the set of indicators and the corresponding feedback, allowing the permanent improvement of the context in which it is analyzed on an individual and organizational level. Finally, the methodology was validated with the expert consensus index(AU)

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Since the declaration of COVID-19 as a global pandemic by the World Health Organization, the disease has gained momentum with every passing day. Various private and government sectors of different countries allocated funding for research in multiple capacities. A significant portion of efforts has been devoted to information technology and service infrastructure development, including research on developing intelligent models and techniques for alerts, monitoring, early diagnosis, prevention, and other relevant services. As a result, many information resources have been created globally and are available for use. However, a defined structure to organize these resources into categories based on the nature and origin of the data is lacking. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to organize COVID-19 information resources into a well-defined structure to facilitate the easy identification of a resource, tracking information workflows, and to provide a guide for a contextual dashboard design and development. METHODS: A sequence of action research was performed that involved a review of COVID-19 efforts and initiatives on a global scale during the year 2020. Data were collected according to the defined structure of primary, secondary, and tertiary categories. Various techniques for descriptive statistical analysis were employed to gain insights into the data to help develop a conceptual framework to organize resources and track interactions between different resources. RESULTS: Investigating diverse information at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels enabled us to develop a conceptual framework for COVID-19-related efforts and initiatives. The framework of resource categorization provides a gateway to access global initiatives with enriched metadata, and assists users in tracking the workflow of tertiary, secondary, and primary resources with relationships between various fragments of information. The results demonstrated mapping initiatives at the tertiary level to secondary level and then to the primary level to reach firsthand data, research, and trials. CONCLUSIONS: Adopting the proposed three-level structure allows for a consistent organization and management of existing COVID-19 knowledge resources and provides a roadmap for classifying future resources. This study is one of the earliest studies to introduce an infrastructure for locating and placing the right information at the right place. By implementing the proposed framework according to the stated guidelines, this study allows for the development of applications such as interactive dashboards to facilitate the contextual identification and tracking of interdependent COVID-19 knowledge resources.

RESUMEN

Access to residential settings for people with intellectual disabilities (ID) contributes to their social participation, but presents particular challenges. Assistive technologies can help people perform activities of daily living. However, the majority of the computerized solutions offered use guidance modes with a fixed, unchanging sequencing that leaves little room for self-determination to emerge. The objective of the project was to develop a flexible guidance mode and to test it with participants, to describe their information organization methods. This research used a descriptive exploratory design and conducted a comparison between five participants with ID and five participants with no ID. The results showed a difference in the information organization methods for both categories of participants. The people with ID used more diversified organization methods (categorical, schematic, action-directed) than the neurotypical participants (visual, action-directed). These organization methods varied depending on the people, but also on the characteristics of the requested task. Furthermore, several people with ID presented difficulties when switching from virtual to real mode. These results demonstrate the importance of developing flexible guidance modes adapted to the users' cognitive strategies, to maximize their benefits. Studies using experimental designs will have to be conducted to determine the impacts of more-flexible guidance modes Implications for rehabilitation Intervention approaches favouring, self-determination, decision making, action analysis and results anticipation must be promoted with people with intellectual disabilities. Fixed and rigid technological guidance mode, like those currently favoured in interventions, is appropriate for only some people's profiles or may depend on the nature of the task. It seems that people with ID use a wide spectrum of organization strategies and that adapting guidance modes to all these strategies is relevant.

The objective of this work is to study the organization of information carried out in the governmental information system of the Mais Médicos Program, based on Information Science and its Information Organization (OI) subarea. The problem with this study is the excess information present in the network about the program and how information agents worked to organize those volumes and their own information to meet the demands of their users within their information system, a website. Among the concepts addressed in the study are discussions on informational entropy, information systems, information networks, concepts transversal to the organization of information. Regarding the scientific rigor, the research is a descriptive research, a case study, with a qualitative approach and basic application. As methods were used documentary and bibliographic research. In the work, the documentary research consisted in the collection and selection of documents produced by the networks and government system. It was adopted as techniques to clipping and retrieving documents via the Google search engine. The applications of these techniques were designed to outline the information about the program in the network, to evaluate the level of use of these news in the system and in the construction of documents for the user on the website. The bibliographical research theoretically subsidized the analyzes presenting the instruments, techniques and tendencies existing in the area of Information Organization and their possible and correct applications in information systems. The application of semi-structured questionnaires with the users, all health managers of the state sphere, was also performed. The purpose of the application was to collect information, verify certain information organization characteristics present or not, on the website, as well as evaluate the users' level of satisfaction with the system and its organization. It can be affirmed from the results found that the potential in the system was not immediately exploited by the management of the program, which has repercussions in the expansion and dissemination of false news, hoax and losses to the program and its consolidation, however, in the study, are presented possible instruments of OI that can help overcome these deficiencies in the model of system organization of Mais Doctors, and also that they can also serve to other agents of systems information as instruments of organization of the information in which it confers its objective to minimize the risks of entropy and disinformation in information systems.

RESUMEN

Online community-based health services accumulate a huge amount of unstructured health question answering (QA) records at a continuously increasing pace. The ability to organize these health QA records has been found to be effective for data access. The existing approaches for organizing information are often not applicable to health domain due to its domain nature as characterized by complex relation among entities, large vocabulary gap, and heterogeneity of users. To tackle these challenges, we propose a top-down organization scheme, which can automatically assign the unstructured health-related records into a hierarchy with prior domain knowledge. Besides automatic hierarchy prototype generation, it also enables each data instance to be associated with multiple leaf nodes and profiles each node with terminologies. Based on this scheme, we design a hierarchy-based health information retrieval system. Experiments on a real-world dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our scheme in organizing health QA into a topic hierarchy and retrieving health QA records from the topic hierarchy.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: To determine the use of health information exchange organizations (HIEs) to support and conduct clinical research. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This scoping review included US-based studies published between January 2003 and March 2014 that used data from an HIE to address at least one of three categories of research: clinical or epidemiological research, financial evaluation, or utilization of health services. Eligibility was not restricted to research on HIEs. Studies with research questions outside of the evaluation of HIEs themselves were sought. RESULTS: Eighteen articles met final study inclusion criteria from an initial list of 847 hits. Fifteen studies addressed a clinical or epidemiological research question, 6 addressed a financial consideration, and 8 addressed a utilization issue. Considerable overlap was found among the research categories: 13 articles addressed more than one category. Of the eighteen included studies, only two used HIE data to answer a research objective that was NOT specific to HIE use. Research designs were varied and ranged from observational studies, such as cohort and cross-sectional studies, to randomized trials. The 18 articles represent the involvement of a small number of HIEs; 7 of the studies were from a single HIE. DISCUSSION: This review demonstrates that HIE-provided information is available and used to answer clinical or epidemiological, financial, or utilization-based research questions; however, the majority of the studies using HIE data are done with the primary goal of evaluating the use and impact of HIEs on health care delivery and outcomes. As HIEs mature and become integrated parts of the health care industry, the authors anticipate that fewer studies will be published that describe or validate the role of HIEs, and more will use HIEs as multi-institutional data sources for conducting clinical research and improving health services and clinical outcomes. CONCLUSION: Articles identified in this review indicate the limited extent that HIE data are being used for clinical research outside of the evaluation of HIEs themselves, as well as the limited number of specific HIEs that are involved in generating published research. Significant barriers exist that prevent HIEs from developing into an invaluable resource for clinical research including technological infrastructure limitations, business processes limiting secondary use of data, and lack of participating provider support. Research to better understand challenges to developing the necessary infrastructure and policies to foster HIE engagement in research would be valuable as HIEs represent an opportunity to engage non-traditional health care provider research partners.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: Unplanned 30-day hospital readmission account for roughly $17 billion in annual Medicare spending. Many factors contribute to unplanned hospital readmissions and multiple models have been developed over the years to predict them. Most researchers have used insurance claims or administrative data to train and operationalize their Readmission Risk Prediction Models (RRPMs). Some RRPM developers have also used electronic health records data; however, using health informatics exchange data has been uncommon among such predictive models and can be beneficial in its ability to provide real-time alerts to providers at the point of care. METHODS: We conducted a semi-systematic review of readmission predictive factors published prior to March 2013. Then, we extracted and merged all significant variables listed in those articles for RRPMs. Finally, we matched these variables with common HL7 messages transmitted by a sample of health information exchange organizations (HIO). RESULTS: The semi-systematic review resulted in identification of 32 articles and 297 predictive variables. The mapping of these variables with common HL7 segments resulted in an 89.2% total coverage, with the DG1 (diagnosis) segment having the highest coverage of 39.4%. The PID (patient identification) and OBX (observation results) segments cover 13.9% and 9.1% of the variables. Evaluating the same coverage in three sample HIOs showed data incompleteness. DISCUSSION: HIOs can utilize HL7 messages to develop unique RRPMs for their stakeholders; however, data completeness of exchanged messages should meet certain thresholds. If data quality standards are met by stakeholders, HIOs would be able to provide real-time RRPMs that not only predict intra-hospital readmissions but also inter-hospital cases. CONCLUSION: A RRPM derived using HIO data exchanged through may prove to be a useful method to prevent unplanned hospital readmissions. In order for the RRPM derived from HIO data to be effective, hospitals must actively exchange clinical information through the HIO and develop actionable methods that integrate into the workflow of providers to ensure that patients at high-risk for readmission receive the care they need.

RESUMEN

The establishment of the Meaningful Use criteria has created a critical need for robust interoperability of health records. A universal definition of a personal health record (PHR) has not been agreed upon. Standardized code sets have been built for specific entities, but integration between them has not been supported. The purpose of this research study was to explore the hindrance and promotion of interoperability standards in relationship to PHRs to describe interoperability progress in this area. The study was conducted following the basic principles of a systematic review, with 61 articles used in the study. Lagging interoperability has stemmed from slow adoption by patients, creation of disparate systems due to rapid development to meet requirements for the Meaningful Use stages, and rapid early development of PHRs prior to the mandate for integration among multiple systems. Findings of this study suggest that deadlines for implementation to capture Meaningful Use incentive payments are supporting the creation of PHR data silos, thereby hindering the goal of high-level interoperability.

RESUMEN

The great changes taking place in the environment of academic library were analyzed from the aspects of networked information environment, knowledge-based user needs and homogenized library resources. The main up-date development characteristics of academic library were described according to the current development situation in foreign and domestic academic libraries as revealed in our investigation, such as e-only of library resources, knowledge-based and embedded information service, associated, semantic and integrated information organization, incorporation of primary information resources into institutional knowledge property management, digital library emerged in scientific data monitoring centers, SoLoMo as the concept for creating the next generation mobile library service. It was pointed out that academic library will become the user-oriented knowledge service center that provides user-driving knowledge service and intelligent knowledge service in an all-inclusive knowledge management manner. It is thus necessary for academic library to attach more importance on the information needs of scientific workers, to strengthen the user-oriented professional work layout, application of information technology, interlibrary coopera-tion and resources-sharing, and to improve the information literacy of librarians.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: For a health information exchange (HIE) organization to succeed in any given region, it is important to understand the optimal catchment area for the patient population it is serving. The objective of this analysis was to understand the geographical distribution of the patients being served by one HIE organization in New York City (NYC). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patient demographic data were obtained from the New York Clinical Information Exchange (NYCLIX), a regional health information organization (RHIO) representing most of the major medical centers in the borough of Manhattan in NYC. Patients' home address zip codes were used to create a research dataset with aggregate counts of patients by US county and international standards organization country. Times Square was designated as the geographical center point of the RHIO for distance calculations. RESULTS: Most patients (87.7%) live within a 30 mile radius from Times Square and there was a precipitous drop off of patients visiting RHIO-affiliated facilities at distances greater than 100 miles. 43.6% of patients visiting NYCLIX facilities were from the other NYC boroughs rather than from Manhattan itself (31.9%). DISCUSSION: Most patients who seek care at members of NYCLIX live within a well-defined area and a clear decrease in patients visiting NYCLIX sites with distance was identified. Understanding the geographical distribution of patients visiting the large medical centers in the RHIO can inform the RHIO's planning as it looks to add new participant organizations in the surrounding geographical area.
