Each breast cancer is a heterogeneous tumour with different clinicopathological feature, and thus they all have different prognoses. Tumour budding (TB), considered as the first step in tumour metastasis, is the most critical factor for poor prognosis and is associated with the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). Tumour budding and its clinicopathological features in invasive breast carcinoma of no special type (NST). Patients who underwent surgery for invasive breast carcinoma (NST) between January 2018 and 2022 were retrospectively reviewed from the database, haematoxylin and eosin-stained slides were retrieved and reevaluated. The study included 200 patients. The mean number of TB was 12.8 ±9.6. The number of TB was significantly lower in patients who underwent neoadjuvant chemotherapy treatment ( p = 0.002). There was a weak positive correlation between TB count and tumour size ( r = 0.177). Triple-negative patients had significantly lower TB counts ( p = 0.001). No significant difference was observed between histological grade, nuclear grade, presence of ductal carcinoma in situ , stromal tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes, perineural invasion, lymph node metastasis, and number of TB ( p > 0.05). The number of TB was higher in oestrogen receptor positive tumours ( p = 0.015). There were more TB in patients with angiolymphatic invasion, which supports the pathophysiological relationship between tumour budding, metastasis, and EMT. Clarification of the mechanism of TB with more studies is promising in terms of treatment options.

Anther dehiscence is a crucial event in plant reproduction, tightly regulated and dependent on the lignification of the anther endothecium. In this study, we investigated the rapid lignification process that ensures timely anther dehiscence in Arabidopsis. Our findings reveal that endothecium lignification can be divided into two distinct phases. During Phase I, lignin precursors are synthesized without polymerization, while Phase II involves simultaneous synthesis of lignin precursors and polymerization. The transcription factors MYB26, NST1/2, and ARF17 specifically regulate the pathway responsible for the synthesis and polymerization of lignin monomers in Phase II. MYB26-NST1/2 is the key regulatory pathway responsible for endothecium lignification, while ARF17 facilitates this process by interacting with MYB26. Interestingly, our results demonstrate that the lignification of the endothecium, which occurs within approximately 26 h, is much faster than that of the vascular tissue. These findings provide valuable insights into the regulation mechanism of rapid lignification in the endothecium, which enables timely anther dehiscence and successful pollen release during plant reproduction.

Introduction: A newly developed clinical organ-targeted Positron Emission Tomography (PET) system (also known as Radialis PET) is tested with a set of standardized and custom tests previously used to evaluate the performance of Positron Emission Mammography (PEM) systems. Methods: Imaging characteristics impacting standardized uptake value (SUV) and detectability of small lesions, namely spatial resolution, linearity, uniformity, and recovery coefficients, are evaluated. Results: In-plane spatial resolution was measured as 2.3 mm ± 0.1 mm, spatial accuracy was 0.1 mm, and uniformity measured with flood field and NEMA NU-4 phantom was 11.7% and 8.3% respectively. Selected clinical images are provided as reference to the imaging capabilities under different clinical conditions such as reduced activity of 2-[fluorine-18]-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18F-FDG) and time-delayed acquisitions. SUV measurements were performed for selected clinical acquisitions to demonstrate a capability for quantitative image assessment of different types of cancer including for invasive lobular carcinoma with comparatively low metabolic activity. Quantitative imaging performance assessment with phantoms demonstrates improved contrast recovery and spill-over ratio for this PET technology when compared to other commercial organ-dedicated PET systems with similar spatial resolution. Recovery coefficients were measured to be 0.21 for the 1 mm hot rod and up to 0.89 for the 5 mm hot rod of NEMA NU-4 Image Quality phantom. Discussion: Demonstrated ability to accurately reconstruct activity in tumors as small as 5 mm suggests that the Radialis PET technology may be well suited for emerging clinical applications such as image guided assessment of response to neoadjuvant systemic treatment (NST) in lesions smaller than 2 cm. Also, our results suggest that, while spatial resolution greatly influences the partial volume effect which degrades contrast recovery, optimized count rate performance and image reconstruction workflow may improve recovery coefficients for systems with comparable spatial resolution. We emphasize that recovery coefficient should be considered as a primary performance metric when a PET system is used for accurate lesion size or radiotracer uptake assessments.

Introduction: Infectious diseases are major causes of morbidity and mortality worldwide, necessitating the rapid identification and accurate diagnosis of pathogens. While unbiased metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) has been extensively utilized in clinical pathogen identification and scientific microbiome detection, there is limited research about the application of nanopore platform-based mNGS in the diagnostic performance of various infectious fluid samples. Methods: In this study, we collected 297 suspected infectious fluids from 10 clinical centers and detected them with conventional microbiology culture and nanopore platform-based mNGS. The objective was to assess detective and diagnostic performance of nanopore-sequencing technology (NST) in real-world scenarios. Results: Combined with gold-standard culture and clinical adjudication, nanopore sequencing demonstrated nearly 100% positive predictive agreements in microbial-colonized sites, such as the respiratory and urinary tracts. For samples collected from initially sterile body sites, the detected microorganisms were highly suspected pathogens, and the negative predictive agreements were relatively higher than those in the microbial-colonized sites, particularly with 100% in abscess and 95.7% in cerebrospinal fluid. Furthermore, consistent performance was also observed in the identification of antimicrobial resistance genes and drug susceptibility testing of pathogenic strains of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Acinetobacter baumannii. Discussion: Rapid NST is a promising clinical tool to supplement gold-standard culture, and it has the potential improve patient prognosis and facilitate clinical treatment of infectious diseases.

OBJECTIVES: To accurately evaluate non-ST-elevated acute cardiac syndrome (NSTE-ACS), the quality of high-sensitive cardiac troponin (hs-cTn) assays is of vital importance. The 2020 revision of the NSTE-ACS guideline includes clinical decision-limits (CDL's) to both rule-in and rule-out NSTE-ACS for most commercially available platforms, providing both 0/1 h and 0/2 h delta limits. Our study evaluated whether laboratories are able to meet the analytical performance specifications for imprecision (APS) for hs-cTnT. METHODS: Results from external quality assurance (EQA) in commutable samples were used to evaluate the current and historic performance of analyzers. The performance of analyzers that either passed or failed to comply with 0/1 h-APS were used on a real-world dataset of first hs-cTnT-values to simulate 10.000 samples of t=0, t=1 and t=2 h values with multiple delta's for all relevant CDL's. We compared the simulated values to the input values to obtain the percentage of aberrant results simulated. RESULTS: The majority of analyzers complies with APS for rule-in in 2022 (0/1 h: 90.4 % and 0/2 h: 100 %), compliance for the 0/1 h rule-out is still far from optimal (0/1 h: 30.7 %, 0/2 h: 75.4 %), with improving compliance over the past years (rule-in p=<0.0001, rule-out p=0.011, χ2). Whilst 0/1 h-APS-passing analyzers have a minute risk to falsely rule-out patients whom should be ruled-in (0.0001 %), failing performance increases this risk to 2.1 % upon using 0/1 h CDL's. Here, adopting 0/2 h CDL's is favorable (0.01 %). CONCLUSIONS: Laboratories that fail to meet hs-cTnT 0/1 h-APS should improve their performance to the required and achievable level. Until performance is reached clinics should adopt the 0/2 h CDL's.

Secondary cell wall (SCW) thickening in plant inflorescence stems is a complicated cellular process that is essential for stem strength and biomass. Although Arabidopsis NAC transcription factor (TF) 1 (NST1) regulates the SCW thickening in anther walls, the single T-DNA-insertion mutant (nst1) does not show disrupted SCW thickening in anther endothecium, interfascicular fibers or xylem. To better understand the regulatory mechanism of this process, we generated an ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS)-mutagenized Arabidopsis population with the nst1 background. scd5 (SCW-defective mutant 5) was isolated in a forward genetic screen from the EMS mutant library, which displayed not only less lignin deposition in the interfascicular fiber and xylem than the wild type but also a pendent inflorescence stem. The EMS-induced mutation associated with the scd5 phenotype was found in the 5th exon of At2G46030 that encodes a ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (UBC6), we thereby renamed the allele nst1 ubc6. Overexpressing UBC6 in nst1 ubc6 rescued the defective SCW, whereas disrupting UBC6 in nst1 by the CRISPR/Cas9 system caused a phenotype similar to that observed in nst1 ubc6. UBC6 was localized to the nucleus and plasma membrane, and possessed E2 ubiquitin-conjugating activity in vitro. MYB7 and MYB32 are considered as transcription repressors in the phenylpropanoid pathway and are involved in NAC TF-related transcriptional regulation in SCW thickening. UBC6 can interact with MYB7 and MYB32 and positively mediate the degradation of MYB7 and MYB32 by the 26S proteasome. Overall, these results indicated the contribution of UBC6 to SCW thickening in Arabidopsis inflorescence stems.

Introduction: The dramatic fluctuations of climate conditions since the late Tertiary era have resulted in major species range shifts. These movements were conditioned by geographic barriers and species dispersal capacities. In land plants, gene flow occurs through the movement of male gametes (sperm cells, pollen grains), which carry nDNA, and diaspores (spores, seeds), which carry both cpDNA and nDNA, making them an ideal model to compare the imprints of past climate change on the spatial genetic structures of different genomic compartments. Based on a meta-analysis of cpDNA and nDNA sequence data in western Europe, we test the hypotheses that nDNA genetic structures are similar in bryophytes and spermatophytes due to the similar size of spores and pollen grains, whereas genetic structures derived from the analysis of cpDNA are significantly stronger in spermatophytes than in bryophytes due to the substantially larger size of seeds as compared to spores. Methods: Sequence data at 1-4 loci were retrieved for 11 bryophyte and 17 spermatophyte species across their entire European range. Genetic structures between and within southern and northern populations were analyzed through F and N statistics and Mantel tests. Results and discussion: Gst and Nst between southern and northern Europe derived from cpDNA were significantly higher, and the proportion of significant tests was higher in spermatophytes than in bryophytes. This suggests that in the latter, migrations across mountain ranges were sufficient to maintain a homogenous allelic structure across Europe, evidencing the minor role played by mountain ranges in bryophyte migrations. With nDNA, patterns of genetic structure did not significantly differ between bryophytes and spermatophytes, in line with the hypothesis that spores and pollen grains exhibit similar dispersal capacities due to their size similarity. Stronger levels of genetic differentiation between southern and northern Europe, and within southern Europe, in spermatophytes than in bryophytes, caused by higher long-distance dispersal capacities of spores as compared to seeds, may account for the strikingly higher levels of endemism in spermatophytes than in bryophytes in the Mediterranean biodiversity hotspot.

Leucanthemella linearis is a marsh plant in the family Compositae. It has good water and moisture resistance and ornamental properties, which makes it one of the important materials for chrysanthemum breeding and genetic improvement. The NST1 (NAC secondary wall enhancement factor 1) gene is associated with the thickening of the secondary walls of fiber cells in the plant ducts and the secondary xylem and plays an important role in plant stress resistance. In this study, two variable spliceosomes of the NST1 gene were identified from a chrysanthemum plant by using bioinformatics, qRT-PCR, transgene, and paraffin section methods to explore the molecular mechanism of the variable splicing of NST1 under abiotic stress. The results show that only three amino acids were found to be different between the two LlNST1 variants. After being treated with salt, drought, and low temperatures, analysis of the expression levels of the LlNST1 and LlNST1.1 genes in Ll showed that LlNST1.1 could respond to low temperatures and salt stress and had a weak response to drought stress. However, the expression level of LlNST1 under the three treatments was lower than that of LlNST1.1. LlNST1 transgenic tobacco showed increased saline-alkali resistance and low-temperature resistance at the seedling stage. LlNST1.1 transgenic tobacco also showed enhanced saline-alkali resistance and drought resistance at the seedling stage. In conclusion, the functions of the two variable spliceosomes of the NST1 gene are very different under abiotic stress. Therefore, this study verified the function of the variable spliceosome of NST1 and improved the stress resistance of the chrysanthemum plant under examination by regulating the expression of the NST protein, which lays a material foundation for the improvement of plant stress resistance materials and has important significance for the study of the resistance of chrysanthemum plants to abiotic stress.

(1) Background: According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 6.3 million intrauterine fetal deaths occur every year. The most common method of diagnosing perinatal death and taking early precautions for maternal and fetal health is a nonstress test (NST). Data on the fetal heart rate and uterus contractions from an NST device are interpreted based on a trace printer's output, allowing for a diagnosis of fetal health to be made by an expert. (2) Methods: in this study, a predictive method based on ensemble learning is proposed for the classification of fetal health (normal, suspicious, pathology) using a cardiotocography dataset of fetal movements and fetal heart rate acceleration from NST tests. (3) Results: the proposed predictor achieved an accuracy level above 99.5% on the test dataset. (4) Conclusions: from the experimental results, it was observed that a fetal health diagnosis can be made during NST using machine learning.

Neurofibromas are tumors of neural connective tissue composed of Schwann cells and fibroblasts. They can occur anywhere in the body, primarily as a solitary mass or as a component of neurofibromatosis. Only 1/4 of the intradural extramedullary spinal tumors are neurofibromas. While most of the neurofibromas are asymptomatic, the authors report a patient with symptomatic multiple neurofibromas of the scalp and trunk that lacked the salient features of neurofibromatosis-1. Case presentation: A 63-year-old male from Saptari, Nepal, with multiple insidious swellings in the scalp and trunk region, presented with complaints of weakness of the bilateral lower limb for 6-7 years resulting in difficulties in walking and bleeding from the most significant swelling that was in the occipital area. Clinical findings and investigations: Masses were present all over the scalp, averaging about 4×4 cm, with active bleeding from the two swellings. The authors performed the neurological assessment and histopathological and radiological investigations. Interventions and outcomes: A confirmed diagnosis of neurofibroma was made with myelography revealing an intradural extramedullary spinal tumor. A laminectomy with total excision of the tumor was performed. Relevance and impact: Meningiomas and nerve sheath tumors (schwannomas and neurofibromas) can both develop in the intradural extramedullary spinal compartment. Contrast-enhanced MRI is the most sensitive and specific imaging modality to evaluate possible spinal column lesions. Surgical excision, partial or complete, is the hallmark treatment of neurofibroma.

This study aimed to investigate the activity of a nutrition support team (NST) and the trends of multi-chamber bag (MCB) and customized parenteral nutrition (PN) with NST consultations in South Korea. Data were obtained from the National Inpatient Sample Cohort between 2015 and 2020. Three datasets were constructed for NST consultation, MCB-PN product prescriptions, and aseptic preparation of total PN. The intersections of the NST consultation and each PN dataset were compiled into MCB-PN with NST or customized PN with a NST sub-dataset, respectively. Using personal identifiers, the patients' characteristics were evaluated in the NST cohort. A total of 91,384 reimbursements and 70,665 patients were included. The NST activity had increased by more than 50% over 6 years. Approximately 70% and 11%, respectively, of the NST cohort were classified into two subgroups: MCB-PN with NST (M-NST) and customized PN with NST (C-NST). M-NST had many elderly patients with cancer and showed a higher in-hospital mortality than C-NST (12.6% vs. 9.5%). C-NST included a larger number of patients under the age of 5 years, and the hospitalization period was more extended than M-NST (26.2 vs. 21.2 days). The present study showed that NST activities and the proportion of PN with NST consultation are gradually increasing in South Korea.

Neoadjuvant systemic therapy (NST) is widely applied in breast cancer treatment, but individuals respond differently to the same NST regimen. It is unclear which patients should adjust their NST regimen and what such an adjustment should be, especially for patients with radiologically partial response (PR). This study aimed to identify a quantitative efficacy evaluation index to evaluate the therapeutic effect of NST. 164 patients were enrolled in this study received four cycles of epirubicin and cyclophosphamide (EC), followed by four cycles of taxanes with trastuzumab [T(H)], if needed. Of patients with a volume change rate of EC treatment (δV1) below 0.80, more than half benefited from subsequent T(H) treatment compared with EC treatment. Importantly, for δV1 of 0.80 and higher, patients' subsequent T(H) treatment was not as efficient as previous EC treatment and they have a lower pathological complete response (pCR) rate. Across all patients, nanoparticle albumin-bound paclitaxel had a numerically higher pCR rate over other taxanes in patients with triple-negative breast cancer. This study showed that the volume change rate is better than the diameter change rate in monitoring the therapeutic effect of NST. Furthermore, δV1 is a good quantitative efficacy evaluation index to distinguish patients resistant to EC treatment and predict the pCR rate and guide the adjustment of individualized NST regimens.

Sesame is a promising oilseed crop that produces specific lignans of clinical importance. Hence, a molecular description of the regulatory mechanisms of lignan biosynthesis is essential for crop improvement. Here, we resequence 410 sesame accessions and identify 5.38 and 1.16 million SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) and InDels, respectively. Population genomic analyses reveal that sesame has evolved a geographic pattern categorized into northern (NC), middle (MC), and southern (SC) groups, with potential origin in the southern region and subsequent introduction to the other regions. Selective sweeps analysis uncovers 120 and 75 significant selected genomic regions in MC and NC groups, respectively. By screening these genomic regions, we unveiled 184 common genes positively selected in these subpopulations for exploitation in sesame improvement. Genome-wide association study identifies 17 and 72 SNP loci for sesamin and sesamolin variation, respectively, and 11 candidate causative genes. The major pleiotropic SNPC/A locus for lignans variation is located in the exon of the gene SiNST1. Further analyses revealed that this locus was positively selected in higher lignan content sesame accessions, and the "C" allele is favorable for a higher accumulation of lignans. Overexpression of SiNST1C in sesame hairy roots significantly up-regulated the expression of SiMYB58, SiMYB209, SiMYB134, SiMYB276, and most of the monolignol biosynthetic genes. Consequently, the lignans content was significantly increased, and the lignin content was slightly increased. Our findings provide insights into lignans and lignin regulation in sesame and will facilitate molecular breeding of elite varieties and marker-traits association studies.

Early detection measures for breast cancer, such as breast self-exams, clinical breast exams, and mammography, have considerable benefits in effectively reducing breast cancer-related mortality. As the incidence of breast cancer is steadily increasing, it is crucial to raise awareness on early detection. This scoping review assessed the current knowledge, attitudes, practices, and perceptions of breast cancer screening among female medical students. We used the six phases of Arksey and O'Malley's framework from the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews (PRISMA-ScR) template. Our analysis included 43 articles from Google Scholar and PubMed search engines, focusing on female medical students. Our results showed that most female medical students had a satisfactory level of knowledge about the most common signs, symptoms, and early detection methods of breast cancer. Generally, their attitude and perceptions were positive regarding breast cancer-related preventive measures. However, the level of practice was reduced. Further efforts are necessary to promote and improve the practice of breast self-examination, clinical breast exams, and mammography among female medical students. Potential interventions could include modifications to the medical curriculum and social media campaigns to enhance engagement and adoption of these practices.

The secondary cell wall, which is mainly composed of cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin, constitutes woody tissues and gives physical strength and hydrophobic properties for resistance against environmental stresses. We cloned and functionally analyzed the homologous transcription factor (TF) genes of SECONDARY WALL NAC (SWN) proteins from Hachiku bamboo (Phyllostachys nigra; PnSWNs). An RT-PCR analysis showed that PnSWNs are expressed in young tissues in bamboo. Their transcriptional activation activities were higher than that of the Arabidopsis NAC SECONDARY WALL THICKENING PROMOTING FACTOR 3 (NST3) TF, which was equivalent to SWN TFs in monocot. PnSWNs preferred to activate the genes related to secondary cell wall formation but not the genes related to programmed cell death. When PnSWNs were expressed in Arabidopsis, they highly induced secondary cell wall formation, like previously-shown rice SWN1. Dissection analysis revealed that this high activity largely depends on C-terminal domain. These results demonstrate that the cloned bamboo SWNs function as regulators of secondary cell wall formation with strong activation ability derived from C-terminal domain, and could be served as new genetic tools for secondary cell wall manipulation.

Background & Objective: Metaplastic carcinoma is a diverse variant of invasive breast carcinomas (IBC) characterized by dedifferentiation of malignant cells towards squamous and/or mesenchymal elements. It accounts for 0.3-1.2% of all IBC. These tumors are typically triple-negative by hormonal profiling with a high proliferation index and a dismal prognosis. Lymph node metastasis is an unusual feature in metaplastic carcinoma. Methods: The present study analyses 30 cases (26 cases of modified radical mastectomy and 4 cases of lumpectomy) of metaplastic carcinoma over 2018-2020 (3 years). Four oncopathologists reviewed routine histopathologic and immunohistochemical-stained slides. The clinical details were collected from the Medical Records Department of the Cancer Institute. Results: A total of 20 (66.67%) cases were patients >50 years of age, 21(70%) out of which were diagnosed as invasive carcinoma, grade 3 according to the Nottingham histological score. Five (16.7%) cases presented with lymph node metastasis. While immunohistochemically 28 (93.3%) cases were triple-negativeCK5/6, P63, EGFR, and Ki-67 (more than 40%) positivity was noted in 25 (83.3%) , 26 (86,7%) , 20 (66.7%), and 25 (83.3%) cases, respectively. Conclusion: Metaplastic carcinoma is characteristically triple-negative breast malignancies (TNBC) exhibiting a high Ki-67 index and a lower rate of lymph node metastasis. CK5/6, p63, and EGFR are pertinent immunohistochemical markers that may aid in diagnosis. However, those markers are non-specific for the disease and morphologic features are always the key to diagnosis of the process.

Artificial intelligence has emerged as a powerful computational tool to create artworks. One application is Neural Style Transfer, which allows to transfer the style of one image, such as a painting, onto the content of another image, such as a photograph. In the present study, we ask how Neural Style Transfer affects objective image properties and how beholders perceive the novel (style-transferred) stimuli. In order to focus on the subjective perception of artistic style, we minimized the confounding effect of cognitive processing by eliminating all representational content from the input images. To this aim, we transferred the styles of 25 diverse abstract paintings onto 150 colored random-phase patterns with six different Fourier spectral slopes. This procedure resulted in 150 style-transferred stimuli. We then computed eight statistical image properties (complexity, self-similarity, edge-orientation entropy, variances of neural network features, and color statistics) for each image. In a rating study, we asked participants to evaluate the images along three aesthetic dimensions (Pleasing, Harmonious, and Interesting). Results demonstrate that not only objective image properties, but also subjective aesthetic preferences transferred from the original artworks onto the style-transferred images. The image properties of the style-transferred images explain 50 - 69% of the variance in the ratings. In the multidimensional space of statistical image properties, participants considered style-transferred images to be more Pleasing and Interesting if they were closer to a "sweet spot" where traditional Western paintings (JenAesthetics dataset) are represented. We conclude that NST is a useful tool to create novel artistic stimuli that preserve the image properties of the input style images. In the novel stimuli, we found a strong relationship between statistical image properties and subjective ratings, suggesting a prominent role of perceptual processing in the aesthetic evaluation of abstract images.

Context: Tumor budding (TB), poorly differentiated clusters (PDCs), and Ki 67 index are proven adverse prognostic factors in breast carcinoma. Though the relation of Ki 67 index with molecular subtypes of breast carcinoma have been extensively studied, there is very limited information on the role of TB and PDCs. Aims: To grade TB, PDCs, and Ki 67 index and assess histological features and relationship of all these with molecular subtypes of invasive breast carcinoma of no special type. Methods and Material: Retrospective study of 148 cases from 1/1/2019 to 30/12/2019. Division of molecular groups - Luminal A, Luminal B, Her2 neu positive, and triple-negative breast carcinomas (TNBC), and Ki 67 index grades based on St Gallen criteria, intratumoral and peritumoral TB and PDC grades as per the International Tumor Budding Consensus Conference (ITBCC) criteria for colon and correlation between these and other histological features with the molecular subtypes were done. Statistical Analysis: Chi-square test, univariate and multivariate logistic regression models were used. Results: Significant correlation was seen between TB and lymphovascular emboli, Luminal B tumors with high-grade TB and PDCs, Her 2 neu positive and TNBC tumors with low-grade TB, circumscribed tumor margins, tumor necrosis, and Luminal B, Her 2 neu positive and TNBC tumors with larger tumor size and high nuclear grades. Conclusions: TB and PDCs are useful in the prognostication of Luminal A and B tumors when the Ki 67 index values are low/intermediate. Her 2 neu positive and TNBC tumors have a high nuclear grade with necrosis and no association with TB or PDCs.

Lymphoepithelioma-like breast carcinoma (LELC) is a rare type of malignant breast tumor that is not included in the current edition of the World Health Organization (WHO) classification of breast tumors. Currently, there are no clearly defined therapeutic strategies, and the general information on breast LELC is based on sporadic clinical cases described in the medical literature. We present a clinical case that describes a 49-year-old woman with a tumor formation in the right breast, histologically verified as LELC, together with a non-palpable, synchronous high-grade invasive ductal carcinoma and ductal carcinoma in situ Grade 2 (DCIS G2) in a different quadrant of the same breast. To our knowledge, this is the first case described in the literature that combines a LELC with a synchronous carcinoma in the same breast.
